After sending away Ajax... oh, to be precise, Ajax had been renamed D'Artagnan.

As the executive officer, Pantalone had the power to decide on the organization of the Fools' army, and once Pantalone made this decision...

Ajax's name on the list of the Fools was D'Artagnan, while Ajax was listed as an ordinary Winterborn.

Although it may not seem like there is much difference, it actually separates Ajax and Datalia into two distinct identities in a sense.

In other words, it was not Ajax who joined the Fools, but D'Artagnan.

This is both to make it easier to hide those shady things and to make dealing with those things more convenient.

It was also to protect his family from harm by others.

After all, what Ajax was doing was too conspicuous for others, so until he was fully capable of standing on his own, this behavior served as a form of protection for his family.

Ajax did not have any objection to this after becoming Tadalia.

Rather, it's more accurate to say that he himself doesn't really care which name he uses, whether it's Ajax or Datalia.

However, when it comes to family members, even someone like D'Artagnan, who thinks like a pure warrior, has to admit that this is indeed the best way to protect his family.

However, after dealing with Dadalia's affairs, Pantalone did not have a complete break.

While processing the files on Datalia, Pantalone also remembered that when Datalia mentioned the "Doctor" to him earlier, he reported that the "Doctor" had recently acquired a batch of experimental subjects.

Although Pantalone had some suspicions about the children who were used as experimental subjects, ultimately it was just speculation, and he had no substantial evidence.

But that doesn’t mean he has no way of confirming it. As a fellow member of the Fools, Pantalone has a more direct way of confirming what he wants to know.

Ultimately, given his relationship with "Doctor," he didn't need to be overly secretive about such matters. Instead of guessing on his own, he could simply make a phone call and ask.

Especially after the completion of the 'Void Dream System', it made communication much more convenient for the Fatui.

The 'Void Dream System' even enables online video calls, so Pantalone doesn't need to make a special trip for it.

With the successful connection from the communication channel, Dottore appeared before him, dressed as a mad scientist.

Upon meeting Pantalone, Dotole immediately greeted his investors.

"Hey, my friend, what brings you here to see me?"

"I heard that you recently took over a group of children for experimental purposes. I would like to ask you for more detailed information about these children."

After connecting with Dotole, Pantalone didn't exchange any pleasantries and went straight to the point about why he had specifically sought out Dotole.

After listening to Pantalone's question, a thoughtful expression appeared on the "Doctor's" face.

"Not long ago, I did take over a batch of experimental subjects and made some recent progress on the 'Fusion Warrior Project' on those subjects."

"I originally planned to wait until all the results were in before summarizing the research progress and the next stage of funding to you, but it seems that you have learned about all of this through other channels."

“It was Ajax who told me that you were planning to try some new things with the remnants of the demon god and the application of ‘imaginary energy’.”

He was already used to the "Doctor's" habit of asking for money during conversations.

Anyway, he was already prepared for his colleagues to ask him for money whenever he consulted them. As long as a problem could be solved with money, it wasn't a problem.

Pantalone, following Dotole's words, also explained his source of information, and on this point, he really had no reason to hide anything.

After learning the source of Pantalone's intelligence, Dotole looked enlightened.

If it were Ajax, who was under his command not long ago, it wouldn't be surprising if he knew all this and told Pantalone about it.

Considering that there was nothing to hide from his fellow Executors, Pantalone, and that there was nothing to conceal, there was nothing left to hide.

"Now that you know about the experiments I'm trying, there's no need for me to keep it a secret any longer. I am indeed trying to develop and experiment with some new applications of demonic remnants and 'imaginary energy'."

"You should remember the demonic weapon I prepared for your adopted daughter last time, right? I mentioned last time that 'imaginary internal energy' seems to have some unknown stimulating effect on the remnants of a dead demon."

"So after that I planned to study this phenomenon further, so I ordered the missionaries to collect a batch of materials for me. In order to find a prototype that was adaptable to 'imaginary internal energy', a lot of experimental subjects were consumed."

"But the result was gratifying. I did find an individual with the adaptability of 'imaginary internal energy' and had the missionaries infuse those bodies with the power of the remnants of the demon god."

"During the research process, I discovered that individuals who have intensified and adapted to 'imaginary internal energy' possess an unprecedentedly high adaptability to the remnants of the demon god, turning them into beings similar to 'fusion warriors'."

"Of course, among the other test subjects infected with 'imaginary internal energy,' apart from those who developed some degree of adaptability, most of the others suffered from exhaustion due to the infection. However, even so, this infected person is still extremely valuable experimental data."

"These results have provided me with a wealth of valuable experimental data, which has given me a completely new direction for expanding my thinking on the next stage of the 'fusion warrior' surgery."

The "doctor's" words were full of excitement about the research yielding results.

He displayed an indifferent attitude towards the experimental subjects mentioned for the project, as if to him these so-called experimental subjects were not living beings, but merely a few insignificant numbers.

He wasn't some madman with a twisted personality, but simply someone who disregarded and trampled on all the common sense and rules of this world.

The man known as "Doctor" Daughtore was just like that. He didn't care how many lives he would lose to accomplish all this, as long as his research yielded results, that was enough for him.

Pantalone felt nothing of the sort regarding the "Doctor's" actions; as an executor of the Fools, he had already witnessed much of the dark side of humanity.

This is the darkness hidden beneath the winter solstice and the Fools, and even he, as the executor, cannot escape this quagmire.

Not to mention that he himself is not exactly a good person in any sense.

Few of those who become executives of the Fools have clean hands.

The only difference is the degree of cleanliness. Even for "Prince" Tartaglia, who is the future eleventh executive officer of the Fools, the number of souls under his command is countless.

However, compared to those cold-blooded ways of doing things, his approach was relatively gentler than that of others.
