Ark Undead

"Ceobe, beat the bad guys!"

Kroos raised the axe in his right hand and cheered with joy.

"Keopatra is a good person!"

"Therefore, Kroos, do not steal."

"The immortal asked."

"is not it?"

"Ok!"

Kroos smiled happily and nodded emphatically, having understood what the Undead meant.

"Keopatra is a good person, so we won't rob him!"

"Correct."

The Undead nodded in satisfaction, finally making Ceobe understand that one should not steal from others.

After the cheers subsided, Kroos continued to gaze with curiosity and interest at the greatsword behind the Undead.

The eyes hidden behind the helmet saw the longing on Kroos's face.

"Want to give it a try?"

"miss you!"

Kroos stared at the undead, his eyes wide open, and even his tail began to wag from side to side.

This is how the Kroos expresses happiness and longing.

The undead took the greatsword from behind him with his right hand and held it horizontally in mid-air.

Since Kroos wants to try, let her try; it's not a big deal anyway.

"Hand, stretch out."

Kroos obediently extended his right hand, ready to receive the undead's weapon.

"Both hands".

The Undead reminded Kroos, and Kroos obediently raised both hands.

"Okay, hold on tight."

Kroos gripped the sword hilt on either side of the Undead's right hand.

"Ready? It's heavy."

"The immortal asked with certainty."

Kroos nodded, staring intently at the giant sword before her, as if facing a formidable enemy.

So the immortal released his right hand.

"Awoo?!"

With a thud, the blond idiot fell forward onto the snow.

The massive blade pressed down on the snow, causing it to cave in. Even though she couldn't lift the greatsword, Ceobe instinctively gripped the hilt, causing her to fall face-first into the snow.

The fall nearly knocked Kroos unconscious. When he lifted his face from the snow, it was covered in pure white snowflakes.

I shook my head from side to side for a while before I could shake the snowflakes off my face.

After realizing he had lost his balance, Kroos propped himself up, squatted down next to the greatsword, and tried to lift it with all his might.

However, the greatsword was only pulled up slightly along the hilt, with the blade remaining buried in the snow. For Ceobe, lifting the greatsword with both hands was still a bit beyond his capabilities.

"Okay, let go."

Upon hearing the Undead speak, Kroos obediently placed the greatsword back on the ground and then looked up at the Undead.

That look in his eyes seemed to ask, "Don't be stubborn! How did you do that?"

The Undead bent down, picked up the greatsword with his right hand, and hung it on the reinforced hook on his back.

It was only then that Kroos realized just how much strength the Undead possessed to lift such a massive weapon so easily with one hand.

"Undying Stun!"

Kroos stared at the Undead in shock, and said blankly.

"Hello! Powerful!"

The immortals didn't care; they just wanted to dispel Kroos's curiosity about weapons so she wouldn't hurt herself if she tried to use them herself.

"gone."

The Undead waved his hand, picked up the black cloth bag, and walked towards the direction of Jade Falcon Town.

He was already starting to miss the campfire in the room.

Kroos, on the other hand, slung his weapon belt over his shoulder and quickly caught up with the Undead.

Dark clouds had gathered in the sky, and even the sun was about to sink below the snow.

Their journey back will surely be accompanied by wind and snow.

69. Won't they fight?

"Things, here."

Upon returning to Bijun Village, the Undead went straight to the inn.

While asking Old Benny to get some food for Kroos, the Undead threw the cloth strip containing the head onto his bar.

"Three tasks. A total of seven heads."

The Undead leaned the greatsword against the bar, and the creaking of the wooden floor made Old Benny glance over in surprise.

"Hey, be gentle, or you'll break my floor!"

"?" The Undead found it somewhat strange that Old Benny and Old Seto were saying such similar things.

“You and old Seto speak very similarly.”

"Nonsense, this shop isn't our property. If something happens, we'll have to compensate others. Do you think we should be careful?"

Old Benny rolled his eyes. He grabbed the cloth strip containing the undead man, opened it, and shook it. He didn't care at all whether the head inside and the bloodstains would affect his business.

He counted carefully and recognized several faces; they were all guys on the bounty list.

"Wow, that's pretty good. You're quite fast."

Old Benny clicked his tongue in amazement, tossing the black cloth bag behind him and turning to have someone dispose of it. Then he reached for the money bag in the cabinet next to him.

"I only want half the money."

The immortal spoke and stated his request.

"The rest of the money. Exchange it for books that can be found here."

"History bibliography?"

Old Benny glanced at the undead.

"Old Seto specifically told me to keep an eye out. Here, this is for you."

As he spoke, old Benny took two books and a bell out of the cabinet and handed them to the Undead.

"This is?"

After accepting the book, the undead turned his gaze to the bell and asked in confusion.

"A bell, too, is it history?"

"It's a bell that the Holy Maiden used before."

Old Benny wiped his blood-stained left hand on a handkerchief beside him, then picked up the money bag and began counting money for the Undead.

"This family used to live in the snowy realm. Because of an incident several years ago, they moved out. Their family once had a saintess."

"It's a pity that she didn't serve as a saintess for long before the bell broke. She spent a lot of money to smooth things over with the Manju Academy and got the adults there to give the bell to them as a keepsake. It's something that has been passed down from her ancestors."

As Old Benny was speaking, he saw the Undead take the bell, and he cautiously turned the bell over to take a look.

He looked so earnest, like a devout believer. Old Benny couldn't help but laugh. Bounty hunters who believed in gods?

The undead held the bell in his hand, examining it closely, trying to find some familiar elements on it. But it was just an ordinary bell, nothing special, even its surface was just a smooth sheet.

The only thing that might have some significance is the small iron ball in the middle of the bell.

Under the dim light, the Undead could vaguely see carving marks on the small iron ball, and it seemed to be hollowed out in the middle.

"Alright, that's enough. Stop staring at it."

Old Benny couldn't help but speak up.

"Even if this thing has anything special about it, that's all in the past. If it still retained any divine power, the adults of Manjuin wouldn't have given it away."

"uncertain."

The immortal shook his head and put the bell away.

"I'll take another look by myself tonight."

For the immortal, he knew the meaning of the bell, and even more so, he knew some of the bell's special uses.

Since this god chose to use a bell as his token, as long as He exists, the immortals will surely find a way to grasp a trace of contact.

"Alright, alright, take it back and study it yourself. Anyway, I don't see anything special about it."

Old Benny didn't believe the immortals' words, and instead brought out a large pot of stewed meat for Kroos.

Kerber had smelled the aroma long ago, and upon seeing the large pot of stewed meat, he stared at the bowl for a long time.

"Here you are, little girl, four pieces."

Old Benny took four slices of cheese from the basket beside him and put them into the pot of stewed meat for Kroos.

"Let's talk after you finish eating. Let's see how much you can eat today."

After Kroos ate enough for several people yesterday, Old Benny specially made several extra portions of stewed meat for Kroos today.
