Ark Undead

Page 193

I am walking on this brand new continent.

Just as Kjerag was built upon the remnants of the world of painting, perhaps the opportunity for the founding of Victoria also lay in some kind of power originating from the Age of Fire.

This is the reason and significance of the Undead choosing to leave Kazimierz and travel outside.

It would be too boring to stay in one place all the time, wouldn't it?

And just a few kilometers away from the immortals, there is an underground facility right next to the infected people's settlement.

People here are unloading goods, box by box, from the facility and loading them onto trucks.

"Is there any more?! Is there any more inside?!"

"That's it! Everything except what the monster ate was taken out!"

Someone walked over quietly and whispered a few words in the person in charge's ear.

The person in charge nodded and gently patted the messenger's shoulder, telling him to continue with his work.

The person in charge himself returned to the underground facility.

He passed through a simple passage and arrived at the underground prison.

The people detained here are not vicious criminals, nor are they infected individuals who have made mistakes.

Following the dim light, the person in charge stood in front of the glass window, looking at the things in front of him.

Clad in black scales, it lay quietly in the center of the floor, its enormous body filling the entire cell.

He stared at the monster, lost in thought.

"Sir, it's time to leave."

"..."

"grown ups?"

Hearing someone call his name from behind, the person in charge paused for a moment, then turned around and nodded.

"They've injected everything?"

"I've been injected with five times the usual dose. I'll wake up in about ten minutes."

The operator behind him spoke respectfully, bowing his head before the person in charge.

"..."

The person in charge didn't say much; he turned his head to look at the monster.

This is a monster that was created by humans.

"call..."

With a sigh of relief, the person in charge took the key from the operator and walked outside.

"How is the food supply being arranged in the settlements and the upper city?"

"Everything is operating normally. The Upper City District is asking us to evacuate as soon as possible."

Upon hearing his subordinates mention the Upper City area, the person in charge revealed a cold smile.

"A cowardly and foolish fellow. I really don't understand why the king would choose such a guy to replace him here. If it weren't for him, how could the king's plan have been forced into action so quickly?"

"Yes, sir is right."

The operator lowered his head again, trembling slightly, seemingly terrified by the words spoken by the person in charge.

As the two were talking, all the lights in the underground facility were turned off, and the doors were slammed shut.

In the darkness, car headlights came on.

Several trucks drove out of the scene along a path through the woods.

From underground, a faint nasal sound arose.

"Hoo..."

The slight rustling of the wind suggested that something enormous was awakening.

115. Steam Knight! One-hit kill! Eight thousand

The Undead and his companions were headed to an abandoned industrial area near the settlement.

In fact, the area where the infected people lived was originally just a part of the Lower City. But after the infected people's riot, a section of it was carved out of the Lower City to be used as a special area to house the infected people.

The factories and facilities established by Lentinium were mostly located in the area where the lower and upper towns meet.

Unfortunately, due to the highly unstable situation of the infected individuals in the area, the authorities ordered all factories in the vicinity to relocate and prohibited the employment of infected individuals as workers.

After all, no one knows whether infected individuals might deliberately break off their Originium crystals and mix them into the factory's products.

Although no such incident has occurred so far, people tend to assume the worst about others.

Amid this unease, tensions between infected individuals and the general public are escalating.

Until finally, the entire area where the infected people lived was transformed into a true quarantine zone.

The factory ruins nearby became the best hiding place.

The undead changed into his own armor and greyish-white cloak, and hung his greatsword on his back.

After donning the armor, the Undead breathed a sigh of relief.

I'm back. The familiar sense of security is back.

Even though he was wearing a suit to a banquet, the man still felt a sense of crisis, fearing that his clothes wouldn't be able to protect him from attacks.

"Mr. Wandering Soul".

Hannah got out of the vehicle behind her, went to the Undead, and explained the latest situation to him.

"The boss can't come; she has to deal with potential dangers that might occur after tonight. Morgan and I will be in full command of this operation."

Upon hearing the name Morgan, the Undead raised his head and glanced behind Hannah.

She was a girl with long black hair, dressed in a simple and neat black bodysuit, her hair tied back with a ribbon. The two horns on her head suggested her race.

"Sarkaz?"

"The immortal asked softly."

"No, she is a Caprini who grew up in Victoria."

Hannah explained to the undead in a low voice.

"Although she looks somewhat like a Sarkaz, you can tell the difference by the fact that her horns curve downwards."

The Undead nodded slightly and waved to the girl named Morgan, as if to say hello.

Morgan had met the Undead before, but the Undead were meeting Morgan for the first time.

Morgan had met the Undead when they first came to Victoria.

It was during that meeting that Morgan advised Vina to try and make friends with the undead. Even being friends was better than being strangers.

In a sense, Morgan can be considered the one who brought Vina Hannah and the immortals together.

The black-haired girl simply nodded to the undead as a greeting, then immediately took out her terminal, placed it on the hood of the vehicle, and began to analyze the current situation.

"We are still two kilometers away from the target point, but there is no road ahead. We can only walk, and it will take half an hour to take a detour."

Morgan spoke while looking around.

The brothers were all changing clothes, taking off their police uniforms and putting on the most standard street fighting outfits that the Glasgow Gang wore when they went on missions.

Hannah even put on her brass knuckles.

“Very good. Once you’re ready, some of you will go with Hannah toward the target, while the rest of you will come with me to the settlement to search for other clues.”

After making wartime arrangements with lightning speed, Morgan took off his glasses, put them in his bag, and then took out his weapons.

It was a portable staff, most convenient for use in emergency combat.

"As for Mr. Wandering Soul."

Morgan approached the Undead and looked up at the man before him.

The armor he wore was different from the one he wore last time, but it didn't matter. His performance was definitely that of a wandering ghost, no doubt about it.

“I want you to stay here. A guest will be heading towards Hannah’s target point along this path, which is why I’m stopping here. I hope you can stop the guest; I don’t expect you to defeat him head-on.”

Morgan rummaged in his bag for a while and pulled out a small, round object.

"These are hidden earpieces we use for communication. You can put them on after we leave, and they can be used to communicate with us when the guests leave. They can also be used to notify you if we encounter any danger."

"it is good."

The Undead nodded, extended his hand, and gestured for Morgan to place the headphones on his armored gauntlets.

It was at this moment that a sudden change occurred.

boom!

A loud bang erupted from the nearby bushes, and a burst of sparks was clearly visible in the darkness.

Morgan felt a chill run down her spine; her dangerous instincts told her that the miniature crossbow bolt that had been fired was aimed at her.

Just out of the corner of her eye, a crossbow bolt no bigger than a finger pierced the silence, hurtling straight toward Morgan's temple!

Ding!

Morgan instinctively closed her eyes, but when she woke up, the expected pain and loss of consciousness did not occur.

A tall figure blocked her way.

The Undead shoved Morgan forward with his bare hands, then turned and drew the greatsword from his back.

He casually pulled the miniature crossbow bolt that was stuck in the greatsword.

This crossbow bolt was quite powerful; it even left a deep mark on the greatsword and lingered on it for a moment.

Once he realized what was happening, Morgan immediately turned around and left with his team.

"action!"

The expected guests have arrived, and they need to hurry to their destination!
