Ark Undead

"If I'm not mistaken, the Reunion Movement should have other plans within Ursus."

Kelsey and Ace had a detailed discussion in her office.

Both of them were among the first friends to come together to realize their ideals, and at this moment, Kal'tsit also had some things to say to Ace.

"That's why we're sending you and Nearl together this time. Nearl is a heavy-armored operator and has rare healing abilities. With you and her on the same mission, we can protect the Doctor's safety to the greatest extent possible."

Kal'tsit took a sip of the coffee next to her. It was already night, and she still had a lot of work to do.

To keep her spirits up, the best way for her to cope without using any sanity-boosting liquid was to drink coffee.

Unfortunately, her body now has too much resistance to coffee, so it has almost no effect on her; it's just a placebo effect. Although Kal'tsit knew this perfectly well, she still needed this kind of suggestion.

"In an emergency, you can ask the immortal for help, but try not to bother him at other times."

"You still can't trust the immortals?"

Ace took off the earphones hanging around her neck and placed them on the table.

"I think that guy is quite interesting, and a nice person. Maybe you just haven't had much contact with him. I spent a few days with him in Lungmen, and at least on the surface we got along, but I don't know much more about him."

Ace had a high opinion of the Undead; he hadn't seen such pure warriors in a long time.

As an elite operator of Rhodes Island, Ace naturally hopes that Rhodes Island will become stronger and stronger, and that there will be as many operators as possible, such as the Undead.

"It's not a matter of trust."

Kal'tsit said something, then stopped talking.

Ace doesn't really like this about Kal'tsit; she always only says half of what she means, or rambles on with a long, strange passage, leaving you to find the answer yourself from her words.

But he's gotten used to it, and Ace understands too. Kal'tsit carries too many secrets, and sometimes she doesn't know if what she says will lead to something shocking.

Perhaps Kal'tsit habitually uses seemingly meaningless phrases to mask her true intentions. This allows her to cover up any slips of the tongue.

But it's still very annoying.

"Please explain clearly, I don't understand."

Ace shook his head and made a direct request to Kal'tsit.

“The Undead is currently the strongest on Rhodes Island, there’s no question about that. But you don’t want him to bring any benefits to Rhodes Island, which I interpret as you not trusting the Undead and not wanting to give him a chance. But I need a reason.”

Ace leaned back in his chair and said.

“This is not an interrogation, it is merely a question, Dr. Kal'tsit.”

Kal'tsit thought for a moment, then shook her head.

"I cannot make a decision before bringing the Doctor back. The Undead's purpose is not simple, even if he can stay at Rhodes Island peacefully now. But that doesn't mean he won't leave or do other things."

"He's just an outsider after all. His authority was granted to him as an elite operator, and he wasn't asked to do anything else. Now we want to entrust him with Rhodes Island's most important matters and let him know so much. I don't think that's a good decision."

This is the only reason Ace cannot refute.

Kal'tsit's thinking is from Rhodes Island's perspective. If this matter weren't so important to Rhodes Island, Kal'tsit would have let it go. But it just so happens to be related to the Doctor.

Ace thought for a moment and then asked.

"Does the Doctor know about the Undying Man?"

“He knows.”

Kal'tsit nodded.

"So far, all my knowledge about the immortals comes from the doctor."

Ace suddenly understood that perhaps Kal'tsit's distrust of the Undead was not because of the Undead themselves.

Rather, there are other factors at play, which could even be simply due to a single sentence uttered by the doctor.

"So you still think that the Doctor..."

"This matter doesn't need to be discussed here. I won't involve any of my personal feelings in Rhodes Island's future."

Kal'tsit stopped Ace from continuing, giving him a stern look that told him to shut up.

"I have no problem with the doctor, and I will not speculate about them until the facts come to light. This matter is only for discussion here; do not tell anyone after we leave."

This is already considered a secret of Rhodes Island, and even veteran operators like Ace only know part of it.

The whole incident happens to be the most ambiguous part of Rhodes Island. Even Rhodes Island itself doesn't know whether it was orchestrated by that evil spirit or whether it was bewitched by others.

Now, the undead who are associated with the evil spirits of Babel are receiving the same treatment as the Doctor from Kal'tsit.

"Okay, if that's the reason..."

Ace remained silent for a while, then sighed, but didn't say what was on his mind.

Kal'tsit took another sip of coffee; the topic she had just discussed had actually brought her back to her senses.

"Alright, since you're in the mood to talk about these things, it means you're well-prepared. I happen to have some extra work that I need your help with."

Ace's face stiffened.

Kal'tsit! You said you wouldn't let your personal feelings get involved with Rhodes Island!

The next morning, as Ace dragged his tired body out of his office and lay down in his dormitory, Amiya, who was upstairs, opened her eyes.

Amiya tidied herself up, smiled at herself in the mirror, and made sure her expression wasn't too bad.

As the leader of Rhodes Island, Amiya is currently only in reserve, but she still has to pay attention to many aspects.

Maintaining her expression and smile is a small goal that Amiya has set for herself.

So, with that smile, Amiya went down to the next floor and came to the door of the room at the end of the corridor.

dong dong dong.

She gently knocked on the door, hoping to gently wake the person inside.

Before she could even think of what to say, she heard several voices coming from the room.

"teacher...?"

Amiya recognized the voice.

No way?

"Someone knocked on the door, I went to open it."

Okay, that's the voice of an immortal. So, what was that voice just now?!

"Go back to sleep. You were up quite late last night. Skadi will wake you up in a bit."

"Miss Skadi, she also..."

"She's in good spirits, and she's the type who doesn't need much sleep. For her, rest is just a habit."

"Is that so...?"

Amiya was almost certain that the little girl's voice inside the room was Melantha's!

Just then, Melantha let out a gasp.

"Huh? Little Ke?"

"Mmm...smells so good..."

Kroos's silly voice came out, along with Melantha's somewhat shy voice.

"Stop moving...you're holding me so tightly, loosen your grip a little!"

Amiya's smile gradually faded. She no longer knew what she had heard; her mind was simply not working properly.

Just then, the door in front of Amiya opened, revealing a tall figure.

Amiya?

A light shone from the window behind the armored figure. Amiya looked up and saw only a huge black shadow.

"Is there something you need?"

"No... Mr. Undead?!"

Amiya felt as if she had stumbled upon something terrible, and she swallowed hard.

As the leader of Rhodes Island, she absolutely could not allow such a thing to happen on Rhodes Island!

"Sleeping together is forbidden!"

"?" The Undead turned around and glanced at Melantha and Kroos, who were still lying on the bed, and spoke.

"Can't girls even sleep together?"

"It should be fine...but! You can't sleep with them!"

"?" At this moment, the Undead's mind had recovered slightly, and he was finally able to understand what Amiya was saying.

After a brief moment of thought, the Undead remained silent for a few seconds before speaking.

“I didn’t sleep, and last night we just got together to play. I didn’t do anything special. Melantha and the others were too tired, so they slept here with me. She slept with Kroos, Skadi made do in the corner all night, and I sat in front of the campfire staring at it all night.”

The undead's gaze emanated from the helmet, making Amiya's head buzz.

"So, little Amiya, what do you mean by saying we can't sleep together?"

Amiya opened her mouth, but suddenly she didn't know what to say.

Was it all a misunderstanding...?

"Speaking of which, would you like to come in and get something to eat?"

The immortal glanced back at the cake placed on the table, in an insulated bag.

"Melissa and the others made a cake together yesterday and wanted me to try it. I took a few bites and the taste was amazing."

At this point, even the Undead couldn't help but purse his lips.

He himself couldn't remember what it felt like to eat something last time, and when he tasted the cake last night, he was still a little dazed.

So this is what food tastes like?

"Oh, no, that won't be necessary! I came here because I have something to tell you!"

Although the misunderstanding was cleared up, Amiya was still somewhat hesitant to enter the Undead's room.

"What's up?"
