Ark Undead

"I was a little hungry, so I went downstairs to get something to eat and then brought the food up for him."

He didn't forget to add a sentence.

"By the way, I live downstairs from you. We've been living here for two weeks now, starting from the day you arrived."

The old man's words were very interesting.

First, the old man saw Ace and Scout's reactions and realized that the two of them must know him. Then he told them that he did not come up on his own initiative, but was asked by the store to come up to deliver something.

Secondly, he proactively informed Scout and the others of his whereabouts, indicating that he meant no harm and that their meeting was merely a coincidence. If anyone's behavior is strange, it should be the later arrivals.

After these two sentences were spoken, Amiya and Ace exchanged a glance, and they could roughly confirm that this was not a trap.

Scout gradually calmed down, and everyone's attention was now focused on the same person again.

Immortal.

In the past, the immortal would never speak at this moment. To him, everyone was indifferent. He didn't even need the food the old man brought him.

Why did he suddenly speak up at this moment, and even have Bloodthorn take the initiative to reach out and help him out of the predicament?

Then the immortal spoke.

“We met last night.”

The immortal man's single sentence put everyone on edge once again.

Last night, what time was that? Wasn't it when the Undead and W went out to lay the first step in their assassination plan?

The two met back then. What does that mean? Does it mean the old man stumbled upon their plan?

To everyone's surprise, the old man nodded calmly, revealing his rich life experience. He then began to speak.

“That’s right, an unknown powerhouse. I happened to see you strolling around the street when I came back yesterday. But there were a few little ones waiting for me at the inn, so I only glanced at them.”

After saying this, the old man paused for a moment, then added another sentence.

“Garsen’s death was sudden, and it has made things a little difficult for us. But as an Ursus, I am glad to see such a parasite die here, at least he will no longer be tormenting my poor, sick children.”

First, he stated that he did not know what you were doing and that he had just met you on the road.

And unintentionally, he elevated the status of the immortals, making himself inferior to you, so he respectfully addressed you as the strong one.

They also used Garson's death to test whether these people were responsible, while simultaneously revealing their own identity as an infected person and showing that they were on your side.

Amiya was still a little confused, but Ace had already figured out what the old man in front of her was trying to convey.

So Ace stood up, put her arms down from her chest, and reached out her hand to the old man in front of her.

"If you don't mind, let's sit down and have a chat. It's quite an honor to meet a general from Ursus here."

Ace gave a friendly smile, and although his eyes were covered by sunglasses, his kindness was still palpable.

Upon hearing this, everyone else in the room finally understood the true identity of the seemingly kind and amiable old man in front of them.

Only high-ranking operators like Scout and Ace are instructed to memorize the appearances and characteristics of Ursus's senior generals.

However, Ace's current understanding is only speculation. Rhodes Island has no records of these Ursus generals and can only infer from past archives.

But as it turns out, Ace's guess was correct.

"Where are the generals now? I'm just a mere warrior."

The old man shook his head, walked in without any pressure, and closed the door behind him.

This time, the elderly stranger was completely inside the room, with no room to retreat. If they were to fight, he would face an extremely unfavorable situation.

His decision can be seen as both a confidence in his own abilities and a sign of great respect for these outsiders.

The old man truly wanted to talk, a fact he had conveyed to Amiya and the others through his words and actions. Since that was the case, there was no need for further suspicion; it was better to be frank and open.

“My name is Ace, this is Scout, and this is Amiya, who is also the highest leader of Rhodes Island.”

Ace first introduced all the Rhodes Island executives present to the old man before him, and then turned to Nearl and the Undead.

"This is Operator Nearl, one of our two squad leaders for this operation; the other is me. As for this one..."

Ace paused for a moment, looking at the Undead, unsure how to introduce him.

Should I mention the War Knight? Won't Mr. Undead be upset? Or would it be too formal to just say his name?

The old man also turned his gaze, looking at the immortal.

The old man noticed Ace's predicament, so he took two steps forward and sat down by the campfire.

"Lighting a campfire in the room and resting around it is a tradition followed by the old Kazimierz. As far as I know, there have only been a few strong people from Kazimierz in recent years. I didn't expect both of them to be here."

The old man first nodded to Lin Guang, who was leaning against the wall.

"Knight of Light, your legend has spread far and wide in our clinic. Many children have heard of your name and regard you as their idol, dreaming that one day they can also stand on the stage of Kazimierz."

Someone greeted him, and even someone as aloof as Rinko politely nodded to the old man and spoke in response.

"It's just empty fame, too much praise."

The old man ignored them and turned to look at the armored monster sitting opposite the campfire.

His words were a test, but no one refuted them, which already revealed the identity of the man in front of them.

"You can call me Herag. I am the current administrator of Azazel, just a mere warrior."

The old man's gaze fell on the man over there, and he spoke, revealing the identity of the immortal.

"War Knight, it's a pleasure to meet you."

The immortal slightly raised his head and looked at the old man in front of him.

He was no ordinary martial artist. Every part of his body had reached near-perfect coordination through long periods of fighting and combat, and his superb martial arts skills were evident even in his walking posture.

This is a warrior who has emerged from mountains of corpses and seas of blood; even an undead could spot him precisely from the crowd with just a glance.

Since this was the first time an immortal had so clearly sensed the existence of his soul, there was no doubt that he was a powerful being.

"Nice to meet you."

The immortal sat up straight and nodded to the old man in front of him, showing his respect.

After a round of pleasantries, Hrag had successfully blended into the atmosphere of the room for the time being, and at least now they could sit down and have a proper talk.

Ace consciously took a step back, pressed down on Scout who was about to speak, and shook his head at him.

He reached out and patted Amiya on the shoulder, gently pushing her forward a step.

Amiya's ears twitched. But she knew this was the time for her to step in.

So the Undead shut their mouths, and Nearl stood up straight.

The entire room was silent, showing Amiya the utmost respect.

Amiya suppressed her nervousness; it was the first time she had ever faced such an imposing old man.

Taking a deep breath, the little rabbit's words had calmed down, and it spoke in a peaceful tone.

"The Azazel Clinic enjoys an extremely high reputation in Chernobog, and it is described in detail in Rhodes Island's archives. What you have done is enough for all the Infected to thank you."

Her voice gradually became more pleasant, and Amiya quickly got into the zone.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you here, General Herag. You can call me Amiya, the current Supreme Leader of Rhodes Island.”

Having said that, Amiya stepped forward and extended her small hand.

Herag stared at the young leader in front of him, somewhat astonished.

But after a moment's hesitation, the general stood up and looked down at the young leader in the same manner.

He knew that this was no longer a dialogue between himself and others, but a meeting between two groups of infected individuals.

So he reached out and steadily grasped Amiya's slightly cold little hand.

“Azazel also knows the name Rhodes Island. If possible, we also have some favors to ask of you. However…”

At this moment, Hrag's expression suddenly became kind. He looked at the leader in front of him as if he were looking at a petite young girl.

"No need for 'General' or anything like that, just call me by my name, or you can call me 'Grandpa'."

The sudden display of kindness caught everyone off guard, even Amiya herself was momentarily stunned.

this?!

Fortunately, Ace was experienced and wise; he stepped in in time and got the whole thing back on track.

"Then let's have a chat. Mr. Hrag, what are your thoughts on Ursus today? Do you know what happened in Chernobog? And what is this request you made of us?"

...

Meanwhile, that same night, W was woken up from his sleep.

Before W opened her eyes, she was still in bed with her eyes closed, trying to get the blanket back that had been taken from her.

"Give me back my blanket! Waaaaah... I was sleeping so soundly, how did they suddenly take my blanket away!"

She was all bared her teeth and claws, her eyes tightly closed, her brows furrowed, looking as if she would die if someone took her blanket away.

It wasn't until she felt the air around her getting colder and colder, and even the once warm room was filled with gusts of cold wind, that she couldn't help but shiver, that she realized who had come.

“If you don’t get up and keep pretending, the ice skates won’t just be sitting by your bed anymore.”

W felt his neck getting colder and colder. It felt like ice was pressing against his neck.

She quickly opened her eyes, dodging the several sharp ice blades that were slowly approaching her and hovering in the air.

The woman standing in front of him in his room made the air around him feel heavy and oppressive.

The Ice Beauty's face was frosty; she already knew what had happened. When she arrived, she found W still asleep, which greatly displeased her.

"So, this is your reaction. Your boss is dead, and he's still sleeping soundly here."

Frostnova's Yeti squad stood outside the door, blocking it completely, leaving W no chance to leave.

Frostnova has come to demand an explanation from W, asking why Garsen died.

"Apart from Garsen, you are the highest-ranking person present. You should be the one to stabilize the situation. Why are you acting as if it's none of your business?"

"Oh, is Ice Rabbit angry? That's rare, I'll have to take a good look..."

Before W could finish his teasing remark, an ice blade grazed his neck, leaving a bloody mark on his snow-white neck.

Blood flowed down the icy blade, and W knew that Frostnova was truly angry.
