Ark Undead

"What exactly is the righteous cause she speaks of? Is it for the infected people themselves, or merely for the sake of the infected people?"

W even came up to Frostnova and boldly reached out to pinch Frostnova's cheek.

Despite wearing gloves, W felt a bone-chilling cold in that instant.

If she had actually dared to touch it with her skin, her entire hand would probably be frozen solid by now.

However, it feels much lighter than I expected.

"I thought your characters were all stiff, just like your Originium Arts. I didn't expect them to feel so good—"

W chuckled twice, took something out of his pocket, and placed it next to Frostnova.

"If you've thought it through, then keep this thing safe, whether you throw it away or keep it for yourself."

"Let's call it even. You helped me, and I helped you."

After saying this, W swaggered out of the room, opened the door, and left.

Frostnova was left alone on the bed, staring blankly at the communicator left behind by W.

W's words had a significant impact on her, and she didn't even notice when W pinched her cheek.

Is it truly for the sake of the infected individuals themselves, or merely for the sake of the infected individuals?

In her fight with Scout, she tore open Scout's abdomen, but did not kill him.

Just as Scout had already pressed the dagger against Frostnova's collarbone, but hadn't gone any further.

Both of them instinctively held back.

The Ice Princess must have already harbored suspicions about the Undead's actions long before she encountered him.

Froststar reached out and picked up the communicator that was on the bedside table.

Just then, the door was suddenly opened again.

Froststar turned her gaze toward the doorway; it was W.

W poked her head out, her two red ahoge swaying in the air, and then she spoke.

"Oh right, there's one more thing I forgot to tell you."

With a cold expression, Froststar quickly placed the communicator in her hand on the bedside table.

"Speak quickly if you have something to say."

W gave a cryptic laugh, but didn't deliberately provoke Frostnova again.

She said it very seriously.

"The leader has arrived."

W's smile deepened.

"She wants to see us."

186. I hope everyone is alright.

Frostnova and W walked side by side on the road, surrounded by Reunion members to prevent any fool from rushing up and attacking them.

The situation in Chernobog is getting out of control. A large number of infected people have suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Normally, there wouldn't be so many infected people during reconnaissance in Chernobog. They just rushed in with the Reunion Movement's planned forces.

Frostnova had no objection to this, and W had no intention of managing anything.

Let's just assume they were well-hidden infected individuals who, seeing the Reunion Movement conquer Chernobog, came out to join the revelry.

We are all companions, all infected, all in the same boat, there's no need to restrict anything.

The problem is that the situation in Chernobyl is getting out of control.

The infected were not only targeting the soldiers in Chernobog, but also began to prey on the civilians living their daily lives in Chernobog.

They seized their homes, stole their food, and Froststar even saw infected people wielding makeshift maces made of nails and sticks, chasing after ordinary Chernobog civilians.

The civilians ran in terror, while the infected chased after them, laughing gleefully.

The scenes that are usually there are now reversed.

For some reason, seeing this scene made Froststar feel uneasy and inexplicably sad.

"The law of nature dictates that the strong prey on the weak."

Seeing that Frostnova's expression wasn't good, W said naturally.

“Before, they were the ones who raised brooms and sticks at us. Now the situation has changed, and we are the ones raising sticks at them. It’s just because we are the ones who support the infected, and we are supporting them to vent their anger and take revenge in Chernobog.”

"..."

Froststar watched as the infected person caught up with the civilian and slammed the civilian's leg hard with the nail-studded club in her hand.

what! !

After the screams, the civilians were unable to support their bodies and collapsed, swaying precariously.

Immediately, other infected individuals rushed over and joined the violence, wielding benches or broken sticks to vent their brutality on these civilians.

"Beast."

Frostnova withdrew her gaze; she didn't approve of such behavior. But she could understand that the Infected, having suppressed their negative emotions for so long, needed an outlet after breaking through Chernobog.

Fortunately, she was able to control her emotions and her team members, preventing them from becoming one of the abusers.

Of course, if possible, she would also stipulate that only the city should be breached, and no one should be harmed.

But she is not the leader; she is just one of the high-ranking members of the Reunion Movement.

Moreover, she is not among the majority of infected individuals, and therefore cannot use her own emotions to persuade others to control their anger.

If someone actually did that, Frostnova would give him a mocking look and then continue with her own actions.

This is the hatred people have for those infected, a prejudice built up from blood and countless corpses, a filth that cannot be easily washed away.

Those who haven't experienced such a buildup of hatred and emotion have no right to condemn those infected. After all, weren't it these ordinary people who valued their lives who were the first to isolate the infected?

"I've heard that there are still some civilians willing to protect those infected."

W glanced at Frostnova beside her; she had her hands behind her head, looking nonchalant, and even yawned.

"But what has become of them now? I don't know."

Upon hearing this, Froststar recalled the house she had seen on her way back through the sewers after her battle with Scout.

A man and a woman, their bodies torn apart. But judging from their postures, they must have wanted to embrace each other before they died.

However, in the end, he was pierced through the chest by a pitchfork by an infected person who had lost his mind, and blood flowed out.

It seems they were the ones who made Scout and the people from Azazel's Clinic leave...

Froststar suddenly felt a tightness in her chest, and the joy she had felt at breaking through Chernobog was diluted once again.

Just like W said before, does that leader want to defend the rights of the infected, or the name of the infected?

The most pressing issue is that the majority of people in this world are still healthy. If we truly want to use force to defend the rights of those infected, the best approach is not to exterminate them, but to seek coexistence.

"If you have any ideas you want to discuss with the leader, I advise you to give up that idea."

W seemed to understand what Frostnova was thinking, and she shook her head and said...

"No one wants to talk about such a serious topic right after winning a victory, especially since this victory was so hard-won."

"Are you just going to watch hatred grow?"

Frostnova glanced at W, still unable to figure out what the mercenary was thinking.

"Hatred is growing?"

W shrugged.

"Does hatred need to fester? Isn't the current situation exactly what some people want to see?"

At this point, W quickened his pace and walked forward.

"And you have to understand one thing: I never thought this would be a success. This is just the beginning of a disaster."

Her voice gradually became more cheerful.

"And what I like to watch most is the opening of the show."

Mercenaries are definitely not quite right in the head.

Frostnova shook her head; she still couldn't understand W's thinking, but that didn't stop her from cooperating with W.

After all, the two of them are now in the same boat.

When the two returned to the camp near the east gate, they discovered that they were not the last to arrive.

"I asked you to deliver a message, why are you so slow?"

When the white-haired boy saw W, he froze for a moment, then forced out what he thought was a dashing smile.

"Is this the efficiency of legendary mercenaries?"

W didn't care at all; she couldn't even be bothered to look at the little brat.

She turned her head directly to look at the woman leaning against the corner and asked.

"What about the Bonebreaker? And the Patriot?"

"Bonebreaker is still in Chernobog. He went to find Frostnova just like you. If he couldn't find her, he should be back by now."

The woman leaning against the corner was dressed in all black and wore a hood, making her seem to be hidden in the shadows and have little presence.

"Lord Patriot will not be attending this meeting; he is still in the north fighting off the Ursus reinforcements who are coming to his aid."

"Wow, that must be really tough. An old man like you still has to do such hard work, don't you think? Kingslayer?"

The woman, referred to as the regicide, turned her head away, ignoring W's subsequent words.

Even the people here know that W is the one who is most difficult to mess with.

It's not that she's that strong; this girl can disgust you not only by doing things, but just her mouth alone can give you a headache.

However, there's always one fearless guy who'll step in.

Seeing that W ignored him, Mephistopheles' expression grew even uglier, and he was about to speak to provoke him.
