Ark Undead

Page 397

Beneath the shattered armor, fragments of the demon were stirring with restless energy.

Whenever that twisted will tried to take over Patriot's body, flames carefully controlled by the Undead would appear and completely burn away the foul-smelling black aura.

This battle should not be disturbed by anyone else!

The building collapsed and the ground caved in.

In a clash of sheer physical exertion and the finest combat skills, no one could remain by their side any longer.

The Rhodes Island crew was forced to retreat by the aftershocks of the battle, and even the Shield Guards had to withdraw.

With a soft hum, the Undead's greatsword slashed down once more from above, aimed at Patriot's head before he could react.

Cing!

Wendigo's raised lance was cleaved in two by the greatsword. Undeterred, he turned the shards of lance in his hand and thrust them at the knight before him.

The Undead turned his body to the side, pulling his greatsword across the Patriot's armor and slicing open his chest.

The exposed wound didn't bleed much. Instead, black pus and purplish-black Originium chunks oozed out along his blood vessels.

Wendigo's body was already beyond repair, but he never stopped moving forward because of it.

Even though the spear had broken, he still raised the shield in his left hand and slammed it forward!

boom!

The Undead clenched his left fist and slammed it into the shield in Wendigo's hand.

The air behind the two exploded outwards, and the violent force blew through their bodies, sending the rubble on the ground behind them flying.

Wendigo's shield in his left hand also shattered during this exchange.

Even with his gun and shield damaged, Wendigo never felt even a trace of fear.

Amidst the rising flames, he raised his hands, ready to slam them hard into the fighter before him.

The Undead raised his greatsword in his right hand, took a step back, and crouched slightly.

The two remained silent, but both knew that this exhilarating duel was nearing its end.

Let blood be the proof of the victor's honor!

His fiery body leaped into the air, and with the help of his hands, he soared through the air like an old wolf, his spinning body gathering enough power for the greatsword.

The sword tip trailed a long trail of flame as it slammed down towards the indomitable Wendigo!

He reached out his hands toward the blade, trying to grab the greatsword that carried immense power.

Hiss!

Amidst the roar of flames, a tearing sound could be clearly heard.

The blade pierced Wendigo's right shoulder, tearing open his upper body, and stopped at his waist.

Wendigo's hands remained firmly gripping the greatsword, refusing to let go.

"ha..."

Wendigo exhaled a breath, but he still didn't give up and continued forward.

He raised his right foot and placed it on the ground, ready to brace himself against the greatsword that was now embedded deep within his body and continue advancing!

The Undead held the hilt of his sword, holding him captive on the spot.

The black substance gushing from the massive wound was instantly ignited by the flames on the sword! Vicious curses and wails rose from the flames, but could only gradually subside.

The sounds gradually subsided, and the force on the blade slowly dissipated.

The Undead sighed softly, releasing his grip on the greatsword, which was still held by the Patriot.

"ended."

"The immortal said softly."

Patriot raised his head slightly and looked at the undead in front of him.

"You're from Rhodes Island, from there?"

"Ah."

The immortal nodded, then shook his head.

"Cooperation."

"Is that so... Okay."

Patriot remained motionless as he released a hand with three missing fingers from the sword. Then, from the inside of his belt, he pulled out a set of keys.

"This is what they want."

The Undead extended his right hand and took the key from the Patriot.

But at that moment, Patriot grabbed his hand and dragged him to his side.

Patriot's arms trembled uncontrollably. He whispered, and blood mixed with black substances and purplish-black Originium crystals slowly gushed from his mouth.

"Inside the city, there are also the Imperial Guards... Be careful, Ursus..."

The Undead took the initiative to move closer, patted Patriot on the shoulder with his left hand, and responded in a low voice.

"They are dead."

"Ha...okay, okay, okay."

Patriot said "good" three times, and then slowly released the immortal's hand.

The Undead took a step back and looked at Patriot again.

Then, he raised his right hand and placed it on his chest, took a step back with his left foot, and bowed slightly.

This is a sign of respect for a soldier.

He suppressed the evil within him with his unwavering spirit and fought against fate throughout his life.

Even in his last moments, he was thinking about the threats people would face after his death.

The patriot looked at the unknown soldier in front of him and paid his respects.

The flames had already spread all over his body and were gradually spreading up his neck to his head.

Surprisingly, there was no burning pain at all; instead, it felt quite comfortable.

This feeling is called liberation.

The last pureblood Wendigo slowly closed his eyes.

"Thanks."

...

Rhodes Island main ship.

"The target is exhibiting an abnormal reaction. Go and notify Dr. Warfarin immediately!"

After discovering that the patient in the hibernation pod was trembling slightly, the operators immediately went to find Warfarin.

But they failed to see that, right after they left, on that snow-white body and that delicate face...

A glistening tear rolled down her cheek.

Darkness, utter darkness.

Endless darkness enveloped him.

Bozokastie knew that he was dead.

But in the endless darkness, he heard other voices.

It took him a while to realize that he could actually control his own body!

He suddenly opened his eyes.

All around him was endless wind and snow, just like the snowfield where he had struggled his whole life, so familiar.

Where is this?

Bozokasti squinted as he stood up, but the familiar spear and shield were no longer in his hands.

Just as he was confused.

The wooden house not far away opened its door.

A strange knight emerged from inside, with an iron bucket hanging from his head and a somewhat comical sun painted on his chest armor.

He spotted Bozokasti in the snowfield at a glance.

"Wow, a new friend has arrived?"

"..."

Bozokast was somewhat confused; he didn't understand his situation.

Shouldn't I be in the core city of Chernobog?

Shouldn't he have fought that nameless warrior and then died?

"Where is this?"

Bozhuokast asked aloud.

"Here?"

The Iron Bucket Knight chuckled softly, his laughter full of kindness.

"This is your new home... You might not be able to process what I'm saying, so just think of it as a new place to rest."

The Iron Bucket Knight approached Bozocasti and extended his palm.

“You can call me Solar; I’m also a resident here. Feel free to ask me any questions until you figure it out.”

"A place to rest?"

Bozokast was still somewhat dazed, but he still reached out and grasped Solal's hand.

Solal nodded, then released Bozokasti's hand and led him into the inner room.

"In any case, the fact that you have come here means that you have fought the good fight, completed the way you were to go, and kept the faith you have believed in."
