Ark Undead

Shining paused for a moment, then looked down at the form in her hand.

Nightingale's condition has been greatly relieved. Her quality of daily life has improved significantly recently. Not only is she more energetic, but her mental state has also improved a lot. She is no longer as sleepy as she was before.

However, the side effects of Oripathy persisted; Nightingale still couldn't feel her lower body and remained confined to a wheelchair.

But judging from this chart, Nearl and Shining seem to see hope for Nightingale's recovery.

"Thinking about it carefully, only the time when the Undead treated Nightingale resulted in such a good recovery. Since then, she has only received that one special treatment, and the rest of the time she has been receiving normal medication."

Speaking of the undead, Kal'tsit gets a little annoyed; the undead seem capable of many things. But he never reveals anything to Kal'tsit, and Kal'tsit hates this feeling of being out of control.

But it did help Nightingale at least, though Kal'tsit herself didn't understand how the Undead healed Nightingale.

The idea that everything will be fine after a good night's sleep might be believable to others, but Kal'tsit would never believe it.

The Undead definitely has his own methods, but his relationship with Rhodes Island isn't that good yet.

"Anyway, continue with your current schedule and work routine. Don't let yourself get too tired, but don't over-rest either. If things continue like this, it won't be long before Miss Nightingale's Oripathy condition stabilizes at a severe level, and then we can try some treatment options for her legs."

Kal'tsit drew her own conclusion, pushed the instrument next to her back, and removed the wires and stickers from Nightingale.

Nearl and Shining exchanged a glance, and both could see a rare joy in each other's eyes.

Both of them are characters who don't show their emotions outwardly, so the fact that they have such emotional fluctuations shows that they really care about Nightingale.

Just then, there was a knock on the door of the examination room.

Kal'tsit finished packing her documents and turned back to give him a word of advice.

"Get some rest. Remember to come to the meeting tomorrow, Lin Guang."

Then he strode to the door, opened it, and prepared to go out.

As soon as they opened the door, they saw a huge body blocking the entrance. Kal'tsit was stunned for a moment before realizing who it was.

Ornstein stood blocking the doorway, his legs almost reaching the door frame. He bent down, waved to Kal'tsit, and greeted her.

"Hello, Dr. Kal'tsit."

"..."

Kelsey paused for a moment before speaking.

"Mr. Onstan...what brings you here?"

"Near Light".

Onstan said.

Kal'tsit glanced back at Nearl, somewhat surprised.

How did Lin Guang come to know this big man?

But then Lin Guang came to the vicinity of the door and pushed Ongstein's thick thigh outside.

"Teacher, please step aside, I need to come out and talk to you."

Then we saw Onstan step back onto the corridor, blocking the entire corridor, and Nearl also came out of the corridor.

The master and apprentice, one looking up and the other looking down, first nodded to each other in greeting, and then both turned to look at Kal'tsit beside them.

"Mr. Onstan is your...teacher?"

Kal'tsit felt as if she had witnessed a truly outrageous scene.

Lin Guang remained expressionless and nodded.

Kal'tsit rubbed her forehead. Ever since the undead arrived, strange things have been happening more and more each day. Sometimes Kal'tsit really didn't know how she managed to get through it all.

"You two can continue your conversation. I'll be going now."

Kal'tsit wanted to stay and hear what they had to say, but seeing Nearl and Ornstein's "we won't talk unless you're here" attitude, Kal'tsit had no choice but to turn and leave the medical department.

She still has a lot of work to do, so if Lin Guang doesn't want to, then forget it.

After Kal'tsit left, Ornstein glanced down at Shining in the room and Nightingale resting on the hospital bed.

"Are they the friends you often mentioned to me in your letters?"

Onstan stared at Shining for a while.

"A follower of the goddess of sin?"

Nearl paused for a moment, realizing that what Ornstein had said was quite similar to what the Undead had said back then.

“Mr. Undead asked Shining the same question before. Shining was very curious about how Mr. Undead knew about the beliefs of the Pardoners.”

"Is her name Shining?"

Onstan nodded slightly, not really paying attention. He had just noticed it looked somewhat similar and then asked a question.

"The Pardoner...she's from Kazdel?"

"I left during the Kazdel civil war, and it was during that wandering that I met them."

Lin Guang and his teacher naturally talked about everything they knew.

"Without Shining and Nightingale, I might not have been able to clearly define the path I wanted to take, and I wouldn't be on Rhodes Island."

Onstan did not comment on the path his students chose.

He remembered that Nearl had written him a letter before leaving Kazimierz.

As for Onstan, his teacher, Lin Guang felt he needed to give his teacher a reasonable explanation.

In the letter, Nearl explained in detail why she left Kazimierz and why she chose to abandon the honors bestowed upon her to do things that had nothing to do with her.

This was Lin Guang's own choice, and she must take responsibility for it and bear all the consequences.

However, in Onstan's view, Nearl is undoubtedly much better now than before.

Put aside what Onstan heard about people's opinions of Nearl during his conversation with the personnel department staff.

Just by looking at Nearl's posture and walking style, Onstan could tell that Nearl had never been careless.

She is transforming into a true warrior.

"If you have the chance, you can fight an undead."

Onstan suddenly spoke up, and Nearl was momentarily confused by this seemingly unrelated remark.

"why?"

Lin Guang asked, puzzled.

Nearl knew that the Undead were very strong, but she never thought of fighting one.

"Let's see how long you can last against him without him using magic."

Onstan added another sentence.

"After fighting him, you'll know where your gap lies."

Lin Guang nodded, keeping this in mind.

After taking a deep breath and finishing his business, Onstan finally had a chance to properly examine his disciple.

The more I looked at him, the more pleasing he became, and I couldn't help but gently tap Lin Guang's head twice with my finger.

Lin Guang was already a capable adult, but in front of Onstan, he still seemed like a little kid.

She shrank back, and Onstan tapped her head while blinking.

"In the blink of an eye, it has grown so big."

Onstan remarked with a sigh.

“When I last left Kazimierz, you were just a child.”

People change.

Lin Guang lowered her head; she was happy to see her teacher.

"I hope I haven't let my teacher down."

"Whether you disappoint me or not is not important, Margaret."

Onstan poked Nearl's hard breastplate with his finger.

"Whether you disappoint yourself or not is the most important thing."

Lin Guang pursed her lips and glanced back at the ward, where Shining was helping Nightingale remove her examination clothes and change into her everyday clothes, and Nightingale, who had just woken up, was helping Shining change her clothes.

The nightingale sensed Nearlight's gaze and turned its head.

She gave Lin Guang a gentle smile.

"I'm so happy to be who I am today."

Lin Guang said firmly.

"I will keep going."

262. Taking office, Great Yan!

In the following days, everything seemed to return to normal.

The Undead still stayed in his room as usual, seemingly pondering some problem, sitting by the campfire every day staring at the flames without saying a word.

When Melantha, Kroos, Skyfire, and Skadi sometimes visited him, the Undead rarely left their side. Unless something truly urgent happened, the Undead would raise his head and say something; otherwise, he sat like a statue.

Melantha experienced a long-lost feeling of the way she used to interact with the undead back in Victoria.

To her, the teacher's behavior was normal; she was simply thinking. But for Kroos and Skadi, this state was definitely not normal.

Although the Undead isn't particularly talkative, he at least responds to questions asked of him.

But in the last few days, he's acted like he's gone mad, only yelling back when he absolutely has to.

Skyfire instinctively assumed that Ornstein had been knocked senseless by the Undead, and angrily went to confront Ornstein, only to be stopped by Melantha and Skadi.

Skadi was simply curious about what the Undead were thinking. She had spent some time with Melantha and had heard about what the Undead used to look like.

Kroos was even more direct, going straight up to the Undead, wrapping his arms around his neck, and asking him to take him out to eat.

Undead often use a gauntlet to help her get kills, or rub her head to quiet down Kroos.
