Ark Undead

The immortal nodded and said.

"I'm going out for some fresh air."

"Okay, go ahead. If you really can't adapt, just go back. I'll take care of things here."

Pallas gave the undead an OK sign and then walked away.

After speaking to Pallas, the Undead got up and walked towards the side door.

As soon as they stepped out of the side door, the Undead spotted Surtr in the alley to the left of the side door.

Upon closer inspection of this beautiful young woman, it becomes clear that she is actually not very old.

Hearing the undead's footsteps, Surtr looked up at the undead.

"You came out looking for someone?"

Surtr tilted his head and asked the undead.

The Undead stared at Surtr, then looked at the greatsword hanging behind Surtr's back.

The greatsword has a very strange design; there is only a small guard at the junction of the hilt and the blade. Instead, there is a long horizontal bar at the bottom of the hilt.

At the end of the hilt, a sword-shaped gem is inlaid.

When it hangs behind Surtr, it makes the sword look less like a two-handed greatsword and more like a scepter.

"name."

"The immortal asked."

Strangely enough, even though it was their first formal meeting, Surtr understood what he was saying.

"Levantin".

Her slender fingers gently stroked the hilt of the greatsword behind her back, then gradually moved to the back of the blade.

"Its name, the name it told me."

Strangely enough, even though it was the first time the Undead had heard this name, he felt a special sense of familiarity with it.

The closer he got to Levantine, the more he could feel the connection between them.

The undead subconsciously followed Surtr's words and repeated its name again.

"Levantin?"

Scorching flames erupted from the ground, and the greatsword behind Surtr flew into the air, seemingly about to escape his control.

Surtr hadn't expected this situation either. She quickly reached out and grabbed Levantine's sword hilt, but felt an overwhelming desire to break free from it.

Surtr's feelings were even more peculiar; she could even read Levantine's current mood from his emotions.

Eager? No...it seems more like longing.

As Levantine's power spiraled out of control, the anomalies around Surtr became increasingly apparent, with flames scorching the air around her, almost solidifying it.

The greatsword in her hand trembled even more, its blade aimed at the undead in front of Surtr, about to shoot out.

But at that moment, the Undead stepped forward, extended his finger, and lightly pressed it on the tip of Levantine's sword.

In an instant, the clouds cleared and the wind calmed.

The raging flames and the greatsword both paused for a moment.

It seemed as if the fingers of an immortal were stroking its skin, and it was as docile as an obedient puppy.

Surtr also felt the will that the blade was conveying back to him once again.

That is an emotion called fear.

341. Creations of Fire

Surtr had never seen Levantine like this before.

In her memory, Levantine was mostly calm, but when she summoned Levantine to fight, Levantine became frenzied.

But now, it trembles slightly, and an emotion called fear emanates from the hilt of the sword.

If he were a human, he would probably kneel before the Undead and beg for forgiveness.

I prayed that I might feel even a moment of fury at his magnificent body.

Faced with this situation, Surtr was also infected by Levantine's fear.

She sensed an unknown fear of not being able to control the situation.

It was as if she couldn't see clearly what kind of face the person in front of her had hidden under the armor.

Faced with Surtr and Levantine's silence, the Undead gently withdrew his fingers.

In that brief encounter, he had already come to understand the will conveyed by the sword called Levantine.

Although it was just a brief exchange, the Undead could still sense the confusion and joy buried in fear from this sword.

It's like finding an old friend at the ends of the earth. Even if that friend is a demon that destroys everything, you've finally found someone of your kind.

And what about Surtr, who controls this Levantin?

And what is her identity?

Surtr looked up at the Undead.

The gaze emanating from beneath the deep helmet made her legs go weak.

Surtr knew, of course, that this was the emotion Levantine was conveying, and that it was also the will she had been influenced by Levantine.

Surtr's connection with Levantine was deeper than she herself realized.

They help each other, understand each other, and control each other.

The transmission of emotions is merely a minor influence in the process of interconnectedness.

"Come with me."

The undead turned and left; this was not a good place to talk.

They need to find another place to have a proper talk.

Far from the village, the Undead didn't even have time to say goodbye to Rhodes Island.

This is because even the immortals are eager to find the connection between the two.

This is no ordinary relationship; even the undead can sense the subtle similarities between the two.

Surtr remained silent, simply following behind the undead.

On a mountaintop at the border between Minos and Sargon, the Undead looked down upon the land under the light of the stars and moon.

"From where did you meet it?"

"I forgot."

"Surtel said."

“When I came to my senses, Levantine was already in my hands. We were closely connected, or perhaps we were one.”

The Undead turned and glanced at Surtr.

The girl's hair and the purple in her eyes are similar to Levantine's color scheme, which may not be intentional on her part.

Or perhaps, Surtr is Levantine's manifestation in the outside world.

But why does Surtr have her own consciousness?

Before the Undead could ask any more questions, Surtr continued.

“I have been searching ever since I woke up.”

“I have walked through the mountains and rivers of Terra, and I have forgotten where I have been.”

"Those scenes that exist deep in my dreams and consciousness guide me to find them."

"It was on this journey that I met Levantine."

"It's like a part of me, but it thinks completely differently."

Surtr gently stroked the greatsword in his hand, his tone soft and soothing.

"It gave me the strength to face the dangers of the wild, to confront the fears of ordinary people, and even to have the power to fight against natural disasters."

Surtr was not joking.

The concept of natural disasters should not have been so casually dismissed by Surtr as something that could be fought against.

But throughout Surtr's life, she relied on Levantine countless times to traverse the disaster-stricken areas.

"However, both it and I are very confused. It told me that it had a hometown, but that hometown has now quietly disappeared."

"I cannot understand its sadness, because I have never found my own hometown."

"But we all have the same goal, which is the light that can be seen in the darkness."

Surtr stared intently at the Undead's chest.

She seemed to want to pierce through the armor and focus her gaze on the center of the undead's body.

“I can see that inside your body, there is a raging fire… no.”

Surtr tilted her head, seemingly sensing the confusion, before correcting herself.

"No, no, no...you are that flame."

The immortal turned around; he had just been organizing the information he had gathered.

However, in all the fragments of past memories, there was no mention of Levantine or anyone related to her.

You mean this?

He raised his hand, and a bright light appeared.

A flame burned silently in the undead's palm. Even though it was just a tiny spark, it stole all the light that belonged to the stars and the moon.

"Yes..."

Surtr's eyes were involuntarily drawn to the flame; she stared at it, trying to find her own reflection in the fire.
