Ark Undead

The man called Ulpian frowned slightly, a change in expression that would go unnoticed in the darkness.

"I didn't expect that you would be the one who shares my interest in these guys."

Ulpian did indeed move his hand away from the anchor, and it seemed he had no desire to attack.

“I’m not interested in these people, I’m only interested in one person. Ulpian.”

Lapp shook his head, and as he did so, he walked over to Ulbian. Like Ulbian, he stood behind the bushes, looking at the burning pile of corpses on the other side in the pouring rain.

“A person, just like you, unknown to others, even beyond the comprehension of others. He is hiding in this camp.”

"Oh?"

Upon hearing Lapp's answer, Ulbian seemed intrigued and looked towards the camp.

During the battle just now, Ulpian did not see anyone special.

He knew the Iberian judges and their power, but they were not enemies he could seriously consider.

"How long has it been since we last met?"

Lap thought for a moment and then asked.

“I remember, last time, you smelled much stronger than this.”

“At that time, I had just escaped from the dream, and His gaze still lingered on me, so of course you could smell it.”

Ulpian replied.

"It's in that village, not too far from here."

"Oh, right. I'm over there now."

Lapp nodded, then patted his head, seemingly somewhat regretful.

"My memory is getting weaker and weaker."

“The symptoms are obvious; you’re almost forgetting who you are, Lapp.”

Ulbian sighed and turned to look at Lapp.

"You and I are both people who have lost the right to enter the dream world. But something about you has been left in the dream world forever."

Lapp is Ulpian's mentor, and you could also say a friend.

On a rainy night, Lapp found Ulbian unconscious on the beach.

Ulpian drifted with the ocean currents to the shores of Iberia, where Lapp woke him up and told him the truth about the dream.

"How much of what you told me about dreams do you still remember?"

"Otherwise, you should flee from here and get away from Iberia."

"He won't look directly at you. You, who can't enter the dream realm, are of no value to Him. No sea creature will chase after you. Why should you wade into this muddy water?"

Lapp told Ulp that he was someone who had broken free from the dream, while Ulp was still troubled by the dream at that time.

But just a month or two later, when Ulpian found Lapp again, he had already left the dream forever.

Ulpian said he had found the core of the dream. But having reached it, he was no longer of any value.

Only those who possess the power to contend with the dream itself can resist the expulsion by the Lord of Dreams.

"The answer lies in dreams. Only those tormented by dreams can find a solution to everything within them."

"I still remember that clearly."

Lapp sighed, sounding somewhat weary.

“I cannot leave. No one but me can find the path to the core of the dream, Agor.”

"Including these people?"

Ulpian looked back at the camp.

"Their performance tonight has slightly changed my impression of them. I thought that only that saint named Carmen had the same opportunity as us to enter the dream world and even draw power from it."

Lapp shook his head.

He didn't think highly of the people in the camp.

"It's raining, and they can't hold out against Hai Si's henchmen for long. Only a few of them can go a little further in the dream world."

"I've found two guys I can work with. They have a familiar scent, so they might be quite compatible with my dream... cough cough! At least their performance so far... cough... has been satisfactory to me."

As he spoke, Lapp coughed twice.

Ulbian turned his gaze back, slightly surprised.

"You're injured. Who has the power to hurt you? Was it because that saint didn't enter the dream realm?"

"A woman."

Lapp's tone was somewhat serious.

"She is a very strong woman."

“This is not an excuse, nor is it a reason to be ashamed, Lapp.”

Ulbian certainly knew Rapp's temperament.

“In Agor, there are many powerful female governors, and in this camp, there are also several of my former companions, all of whom are women.”

"No, that's not the point. The point is that the person I'm looking for isn't her. I've never even met her, but she knows me very well."

Lapp shook his head, refuting Ulbian while trying to find a reasonable explanation for himself.

"She was guarding the person who entered the dream. I quietly approached her, but the woman noticed me."

“I saw it clearly: she picked up the weapon from the flame. But after seeing me, she put the weapon back into the flame.”

Lapp said somewhat awkwardly.

“We exchanged a couple of words, and then she suddenly appeared close to me. I didn’t even notice her before she flew out of the window.”

Ulbian only then noticed that Lapp was clutching his lower abdomen with his right hand, seemingly suffering some internal injuries.

"unarmed?"

Ulpian's tone unconsciously carried a hint of respect.

Lapp nodded, still shaken.

"unarmed."

Suddenly, the air between the two became quiet.

Only the torrential rain pattered against the bushes around them, the noisy sound of the rain mixed with an unknown atmosphere, filling the entire air.

After a long silence, Ulpian finally managed to utter these words.

"She's really amazing, at least more capable than my colleagues."

“But that man is stronger than her. I can feel it. When he fought me, he didn’t use his true strength at all.”

Lapp sounded somewhat confused.

"Who are they? Why do they recognize me? What part of me did I leave in my dream...?"

"Lap".

Ulbian interrupted Rap's mutterings.

"You should rest."

Lap stopped speaking.

After taking a few breaths, he finally nodded gently.

"You're right."

So, Lapp turned around and ran towards the sea.

The two did not say goodbye; Ulbian knew he would need Lapp's help.

The two will meet again in the near future.

As Rapp said.

Only he can find a way to enter the core of the dream, and only he can find a way back to Agor.

But right now, Ulpian's focus is not on returning to Agor.

More than returning to his hometown, he was concerned about whether his team members were still qualified deep-sea hunters.

"Skadi, I hope you're still conscious."

411. Miss Kal'tsit

Kal'tsit accepted the invitation from the Fire Mage and went to the Undead's room for a talk.

In that brief half hour, the two exchanged a lot of information, and Kal'tsit learned about some of the undead's past from many histories she had never heard of before.

However, these facts, like a mirror, reflected Kal'tsit's true nature.

Contrary to what she herself said, Kal'tsit is not omniscient or omnipotent. These pretenses she puts on are all attitudes that she, as the person in charge of Rhodes Island, must show.

However, although she was not omniscient or omnipotent, the facts spoken by the Fire Mage held an inexplicable sense of familiarity for Kal'tsit.

Just like at some point in the past, she had heard these stories before. She had even personally experienced that long-forgotten period of history.

"The Battle of Kazdel drove the Abyss forces out of the world, allowing Agor to be built and giving the last embers a chance to breathe."

"In order to protect the natural development of all life on Terra, Agor decided to isolate itself from the mainland. Therefore, Agor became a city in the water, forever forbidden from contact with the land."

"But it is precisely because of this that the few words left on Terra have attracted the people of Terra to explore Agor, this mysterious underwater kingdom."

"You should know this better than I do."

The Fire Mage wasn't just trying to give Kal'tsit an explanation; she was also trying to draw out deeper memories from Kal'tsit.

“Kal'tsit, you shouldn’t have forgotten.”

"I?"

Kal'tsit was somewhat surprised. She pointed to herself, showing that she couldn't put on any airs in front of the Fire Mage.
