Ark Undead

“The surrounding sea creatures didn’t even attack you; you just kept rising to the surface and eventually left your deep-sea nest.”

"In the chaotic sea, I snatched a fragment of a false god. When I looked back, countless sea creatures were already vying to plunder the remains of that false god."

"For Haisi, the remains of the dead Lord of the Great Group are the best nourishment."

"This is a normal predatory behavior."

When Skadi thought of this, she frowned instinctively when she looked at Ulpian again.

Because she remembered that when she looked at the body just now, the impulse that welled up from the bottom of her heart was a desire called gluttony.

Do you feel like you're not clean anymore?

Ulpian, unusually, made a joke to Skadi at this moment.

Skadi frowned, feeling somewhat lost and unsure of what to do.

“After I left the swarm, I also operated on Terra for a while. Unlike you, the Hydras I discovered were all calling out the same name.”

"Ishar-mla"

“They don’t target me; some of the sea creatures even ignore my existence.”

"This Ishar-mla must be referring to you. If I'm not mistaken, you've already been targeted by the current leader of the Great Mob."

“Those sea creatures that originally went to hunt you were not really trying to kill you, but rather it was a feeding behavior originating from within the group.”

"They voluntarily offer their bodies as your food, to be swallowed and digested by you."

"This dream you've entered also contains a trap set for you."

Skadi suddenly realized how she had managed to escape the dream.

Logically speaking, Melantha and Kroos should both have extremely strong resistance to that fog gate. But only she was sucked in as if by a tangible gravitational force.

If it weren't for Melantha's special power, she would probably have been sucked into the Fog Gate.

Skadi became confused at this point.

She had realized that Ulpian was right, but she also found it utterly absurd.

Why did it have to be her? Why did the leader of that great group have to be in her body?

"Now, think again, why did I come to find you?"

The anchor beside Ulpian rested quietly against the wall, making not a sound.

But one can imagine that if Skadi's mental state were to change even slightly, the anchor would not hesitate to attack Skadi until one of them were completely dead.

"If I were you, I would also..."

Skadi couldn't deny Ulpian's actions. From a Deepsea Hunter's perspective, she even felt that Ulpian's actions were justified.

"So, stay calm, Skadi."

Ulpian began to comfort Skadi.

"I don't know how you managed to maintain your sanity under the torment of the Lord of the Masses. It's beyond my comprehension."

“But you are still a sober hunter, and I’m glad to see you as you are now.”

With that, Ulpian picked up the anchor beside him and walked to the window.

Just then, a sharp shout suddenly rang out from outside the window.

Skadi then noticed that the camp was already in operation, while she was still in shock from her conversation with Ulpian.

“Skadi, remember this: you are a Deepsea Hunter. We are your companions, your fellow travelers on this journey. Trust Grandia and Laurentina, and also trust my judgment.”

“But if the day ever comes when you become Ishar-mla, I will not hesitate to wield my weapon and grant you the right to a brief moment of lucidity.”

Ulpian finished speaking sternly, then turned and jumped out of the window.

He didn't seem to intend to stay here, but only to tell Skadi some crucial facts.

Skadi instinctively got up from the bed, wanting to go to the window to see where Ulpian had gone.

But when she reached the bedside, Ulpian's body had already disappeared into the darkness, leaving no trace.

Skadi stared blankly out the window at the flickering firelight in the camp, unaware of what was happening.

Just then, there was a knock on the Deepsea Hunter's room.

Skadi turned to look at the doorway; a sound came from outside.

Is anyone awake? Can you open the door for me?

Skadi responded.

"coming."

Skadi opened the door, but the person standing outside made her eyes widen in surprise.

"Hello, Miss Skadi, welcome back to reality."

She was the Fire Mage; she bowed slightly to Skadi in greeting.

“Someone in the camp discovered traces of strangers, so I’m here to check them one by one.”

Corresponding to her words was the long sword she held in her hand.

Skadi swore she never imagined she would ever see this.

A fair hand gripped the hilt of the spiral sword tightly. Flames flowed across the entire blade and hilt, yet they did not harm the woman before him in the slightest.

The Fire Maiden continued calmly as she asked.

"I smell something foul. May I go into the room to check?"

She did not make any threatening moves and was very polite in her words.

But Skadi felt an extremely strong sense of oppression.

The flames emanating from the spiral sword appeared to Skadi as a hazy firestorm.

It made it hard for her to breathe.

"Please...please come in."

Skadi still made room for her.

"Greteia and Laurentina are still dreaming, please don't wake them."

The Fire Maiden smiled and spoke politely.

"OK, thanks."

The Fire Girl searched the room but found nothing.

Finally, she came to the window of Skadi's room.

Skadi stood at the door, wondering what the Fire Mage wanted to do.

"Do you have time, Miss Skadi?"

"The Fire Maiden suddenly said."

“I want to talk to you… well, to be precise, to the one inside you.”

431. My Mother

Ever since Mr. Undead brought this fire-wielding lady back to Rhodes Island, everyone has had their own speculations about her.

Many people believe that this woman is the wife of the Undead Man, and of course, the woman herself has never denied it.

Every time she was addressed as "Madam," the smile on her face was genuine and joyful.

However, many elite operators and sufficiently powerful outsourced operators can feel a powerful pressure from this person that is no less than that of an immortal.

The oppressive feeling brought about by this immense power is undeniable. It's like someone holding a knife to your head, forcing you to think twice before making any decision.

However, even though no one dared to underestimate this woman named Firebound, no one ever imagined that one day they would see her standing before them, wielding the weapon of the Undead.

Skadi even wondered if she was seeing things.

Or perhaps I'm still dreaming?

She had just seen her old captain, talked to him for a while, and then disappeared. Now she saw Miss Fire Mage leave the Undead's room, carrying the Undead's Spiral Sword to find her.

It might even involve talking to her, and not to yourself, but to the one inside your body?

Skadi had a vague suspicion that the one the Fire Mage mentioned inside her body was probably...

"Ishar-mla?"

Skadi said the name with some difficulty, as she was confirming it with the Fire Mage.

The Fire Girl tilted her head and said.

“I don’t know His name, but I can sense His presence here… even the undead can.”

Skadi felt a chill run down her spine. Did this mean that the Undead knew from the beginning that there was something dirty hidden inside Skadi's body?

Then the only one to look for is the Undying Man, who is so righteous and hates evil. Why wouldn't he attack himself?

"But you don't need to worry too much. For now, it can't do anything to you... You're very lucky."

As she spoke, the Fire Mage waved to Skadi, gesturing for her to come closer.

"come over."

Skadi dared not disobey in the slightest, even though her body told her more than once not to go over there.

The Fire Mage placed the spiral sword in her hand next to the wall and raised her right hand.

On his right hand, a ball of golden flame suddenly appeared, just like the primordial fire within the body of the undead.

The Fire Mage looked at Skadi in front of her and said in a low voice.

"Don't panic, I just want to see what's going on. I'll also send him some gifts while I'm at it."

As she spoke, the Fire Mage gently touched Skadi's forehead with her finger.

In an instant, Skadi seemed to have traveled to another world; her thoughts traversed the river of time and transcended the limitations of space in a single moment.

Before her eyes, only a single flame burned, and her entire gaze lost its luster.
