Ark Undead

"If the Deepsea Hunters are warriors created by incorporating elements of the Sea Heirs, then what would you do when you have to confront yourself?"
Kal'tsit pulled over a stool and sat down.
It seems she intends to have a proper talk with Greta about this topic.
"Have you deep-sea hunters noticed this secret all these years ago? Or did you already know it but simply choose not to reveal it?"
Goredia fell silent.
Kal'tsit just stared at Gladys without saying a word, waiting for her to speak.
Several more minutes passed before Goredia took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
"I only found out recently."
She said.
"At first, I thought the changes in my body were just due to being away from my hometown."
"Later, I was horrified to discover that I could actually understand Hai Si's words and even perceive some emotional expressions in their language."
One can imagine the shock that this fact must have had on Goredia when she first learned of it.
“But that’s not something I should be thinking about, Dr. Kal’tsit. Don’t ask me about the Deepsea Hunters anymore.”
“I need your help. Once you get to Agor, many problems will naturally be solved, won’t they?”
“I am the military governor of Agor, and it is my duty to expel the monsters that have taken over Agor. Everything else is just a distraction.”
In a sense, Goredia was very pure.
She is the kind of person who would do anything for a goal.
Upon hearing what Greta said, Kal'tsit stood up.
"I understand, you should get some rest."
"We'll be leaving in a little over nine hours, so get ready."
So Kal'tsit took the sealed box and left the operating room, turning the place into a ward so that Goreia could have a peaceful night's sleep.
Grace also expressed her gratitude to Kal'tsit before she left.
"Thank you so much for keeping this a secret, Dr. Kal'tsit."
She still didn't want this matter to affect her team members, or even other people who were working with Deepsea Hunters.
Kal'tsit paused, then nodded with her back to Gladys, before closing the door.
On the other side, Patch, the Undead, the Fire Mage, and Greyhound W were all gathered in a room, chatting around a campfire.
“We went to see the Doctor from the very beginning, otherwise we wouldn’t have come to Iberia. Believe me, brother, the Doctor knows more than you can imagine!”
While using exaggerated gestures to recount his journey to Iberia to the Undead, Greyhound also told the Undead Doctor that he was not as simple as he seemed.
Of course, everyone knew that the doctor was not simple, so no one cared.
The immortal simply nodded slightly and let the matter drop.
The spiral sword returned to the campfire without a trace of being moved, as if the Fire Mage had never drawn it, nor had she used it to fight her way through the pile of corpses at the entrance that was three or four stories high.
At least in front of the Undead, the Fire Mage wanted him to protect her.
Patch didn't care about Greyhound and the Undead bragging.
He simply sat by the campfire, squinting as he enjoyed the fire lit by the undead.
Even though he has almost completely shed his immortality, these deeply ingrained memories will not disappear.
Patch's favorite thing to do used to be to find a corner to squat in, feeling the cold on his back while facing the heat of the campfire.
This is his most comfortable way to rest.
Until Kal'tsit walked into the room.
Everyone then turned their attention to Kal'tsit.
Why are you all staring at me?
Kal'tsit felt uncomfortable under everyone's gaze.
"Why...is everything so strange?"
Greyhound and W had the strangest gazes. On the contrary, the Undead and Patches were simply checking Kal'tsit's condition.
Finally, Greyhound couldn't help himself and asked.
"So you're still Kal'tsit?"
"?" Kal'tsit looked at Greyhound with an expression as if he were an idiot.
How could he ask such a question?
“Look, when Patch comes out of the dream, Lapp turns into Patch.”
Greyhound glanced at Patch, then looked at Kal'tsit.
"Then... have you become someone else?"
"..."
For a moment, Kal'tsit actually felt that Greyhound's deduction might make some sense.
However, her face quickly turned cold.
"Operator Greyhound, if you're not feeling too clear-headed, you can go back to the ward and sleep for a while. You don't have to force yourself to stay here by the fire."
"That's right, that's right, that's right!"
Greyhound slapped his thigh and sighed twice.
"That's more like it! The previous one wasn't you at all!"
Greyhound's antics were so outrageous that even W couldn't hold back, his expression nearly collapsing several times, let alone Patch.
Patch's face was already as bright as a blooming chrysanthemum. So this is what Kal'tsit looks like when she hasn't regained her memories?
Kal'tsit's lips twitched, but she finally gave up forcing herself to stay in the same state and sat down by the campfire in a slightly casual manner.
“We are indeed quite curious about your current situation, otherwise we wouldn’t have gathered here.”
Patch laughed for a while, then got down to business.
"So what's the current state of the dream? Do you still have a firm grip on it?"
This is actually very important; for everyone, it is the key to whether they can face the Lord of Dreams.
Others may not understand, but Patch knows that this dream itself is a manifestation of some of the powers of the Dream Lord.
If Kal'tsit still retains that dream, then she might actually have the ability to confront the Lord of Dreams head-on.
Unfortunately, Kal'tsit shook her head.
"When He tried to break the rules and shatter the dream, what I could feel was that many dreams surrounding this main dream disappeared like bubbles bursting."
"This dream is no exception; the underlying rules are ultimately written by Him. Once His power is withdrawn, it naturally cannot be maintained for long."
Although it's a pity, this also shows that many dreams have collapsed as a result.
At the very least, they may have saved many Iberians who had nightmares every night.
"Then now you..."
Patch then looked at Kal'tsit.
"Is it Kal'tsit or Theresa?"
As soon as this question arose, Greyhound and W both turned their attention to it.
That's why they came to wait for the Undead.
Patch just told them that the Theresa statue that appeared in that dream was not an isolated case.
The idol itself has the function of connecting with the power of the soul.
Somewhere in reality, there must also be a statue like the one they saw, receiving the power born from their dreams.
This means that Theresa truly exists there.
Greyhound and W's beloved Theresa was right in front of them, yet they couldn't see her one last time.
However, after Kal'tsit accepted Theresa's gift and regained her own memories, it meant that she accepted Theresa's soul.
So, is the current Kal'tsit ...
"I am who I am."
Kal'tsit's tone was flat, no different from usual.
"Theresia didn't try to take my body; she talked to me for a while...that's all."
For a moment, everyone fell silent.
Patch asked the question she wanted to ask, while Greyhound and W didn't know how to bring it up.
How can I ask? This was Theresa's choice, and everyone has come out alive now.
Is it right to blame Kal'tsit for not letting them see Theresa one last time?
Isn't that a bit too beastly?
However, Kal'tsit looked at Greyhound and W.
"You two come with me, I have something to tell you."
As she spoke, Kal'tsit stood up.
Greyhound and W both looked rather listless.
Kal'tsit sighed.
"She asked me to deliver this message to you."
444. To ruthlessly kill a god
Kal'tsit left with Greyhound and W.
