Ark Undead

Mob was giving a passionate speech when his terminal, which was in his bag, started vibrating.
He took the terminal out of his bag, intending to hang up immediately. But after seeing the number, he paused.
"Alright everyone, please take a short break! The match will begin in five minutes. If any of you wish to place a bet, please pick up the terminal next to you and wager a dizzying amount of gold on your favorite player!"
After saying that, Mobu answered the phone and cautiously spoke to the person on the other end.
"gentlemen?"
"Okay, let's announce the news."
The man sitting in the business alliance room saw Mob's reaction on the commentary stage below through the glass.
"Our knight, Mr. Undead, murdered several hardworking citizens of Kazimierz yesterday afternoon. This has been confirmed by the Knights' Guild. Now, the Undead is wanted throughout the territory, and it seems unlikely he will be able to reach the scene."
Mob hesitated for a moment, then asked again.
"What about the competition then?"
"If they don't show up by the time limit, they'll be declared the loser, and the championship will be handed to another knight."
The man sighed.
"Although I know that such a championship may make many people dissatisfied, missing the competition means forfeiting the qualification, which is within the rules of the Special Championship, Mr. Mob."
Mob the Big Mouth shuddered; he could already imagine the consequences of using the tactics of a business alliance to target a knight.
So he could only bow his head respectfully.
"Yes, sir, I will say so."
The man hung up the phone.
Mob put down the terminal, his expression somewhat complicated.
Although he knew it wasn't right, he was still a person living in Kazimierz. As a commentator, he could see the meaning behind interests and honor better than many knights.
So he picked up the microphone, and after a moment's thought, he announced in a passionate yet slightly regretful voice.
"We just received news that our other contestant, Mr. Undying, may not be able to attend!"
This opening statement caused a moment of silence in the entire arena, followed by a sudden explosion of sound.
"What happened?! Why can't we come?!"
"Hey, check your terminals, is this message real?"
"A nationwide manhunt?! What did the Undying Legend do?"
Mob the Big Mouth sensed the changing emotions in the arena, and his mood also soured, but he still announced loudly in a professional tone.
"The Undead murdered several citizens of Kazimierz yesterday afternoon. This has been confirmed by the Knights' Guild, and they have now issued a nationwide warrant for the Undead's arrest!"
After finishing his sentence, Mob unusually put down the microphone and did not embellish the following events.
The audience erupted in cheers, unleashing a torrent of curses.
"What the hell?! I even invested money in him! How did he disappear?"
"Murder? I never expected him to kill someone. I thought he was a very upright person."
"I told you it wouldn't work without killing people, thank goodness I invested all my money in Bloodthorn! Hahaha, I'm rich now!"
The sky grew even darker.
The dark clouds covered the sky like ink, and the raindrops were as dense as newly laid fish eggs, making it hard to breathe.
In the audience, Zofia and Maria exchanged a worried glance.
After the Undying Man left yesterday, they haven't had any contact with them since, and neither of them slept well last night.
It wasn't that they were worried the Undead would actually return to the arena; in fact, they preferred that the Undead simply leave.
However, since the Undying Man said he would participate in the finals, he will definitely come back.
Zofia and Maria's feelings were now intertwined; they were worried that he would be caught by the Knights Association's security personnel if he came, and they were also disappointed that they wouldn't be able to win the championship if someone died.
"Auntie, do you think the teacher will come?"
Maria asked, somewhat bewildered.
She was beginning to lose sight of whether life or honor was more important.
Zofia looked at Maria and asked her a question in return.
"Maria, would you like your teacher to come?"
"I don't want that."
Maria shook her head and said regretfully.
"But the teacher just missed out on the championship. I think that's not right, that's unfair."
For a moment, the two were speechless.
On the other side, Koss and Fran remained silent in their seats.
Although these two knights, both from corporate backgrounds, had anticipated that the Undead would be targeted, they never imagined that the business alliance would go to such extremes.
All the media outlets just reported this information together. The business alliance has fully deployed its methods; they definitely won't let the Undead participate in the competition.
The two men, who were well aware of the tactics of business alliances, were completely exhausted.
"Grandpa...he must have run away, right? What about the champion?"
Fran's face was filled with worry; he couldn't even eat the candy in his hand.
"Given his personality, it's hard to say."
Koss shook his head; he had seen a lot in the short month they had spent together.
“I’m more worried that the old man will come. If he comes, we won’t be able to leave.”
Aside from the immortal's fans and his disciples.
There was another person who also came to the arena.
Blacksmith Ander held his wife's fingers together, and he looked worried.
"Ander, who is this old man you're talking about? Is he the knight down there?"
The lady asked Ander, who shook his head.
"No, it's another knight."
"Then he committed murder? Will he come?"
Ander glanced worriedly at his watch on his right hand.
"I do not know."
Everyone is talking about it, but few people care about the fate of the immortals.
Under these circumstances, five minutes passed quickly.
Mob the Big Mouth saw the time, sighed, and picked up the microphone in front of him.
"Now! Please welcome the knight to the stage!"
In the arena, all the drones split into two groups, focusing their attention on the two iron gates to the north and south.
The iron gate on the north side gradually opened, and a figure emerged from the smoke.
Bloodthorn walked out of the north gate with two short swords in his hands, and silently entered the arena.
Some audience members shouted for Bloodthorn, but Bloodthorn ignored them as if he hadn't heard them at all.
Big Mouth Mob stared at the South Gate on the screen, deciding to wait a moment.
Just then, Mob's terminal rang again.
He glanced at it; it was a call from a spokesperson for the business alliance.
Mob answered the phone, and as soon as the call connected, the spokesperson's voice came through.
"Quickly! Announce his victory! Don't waste time! Announce it now!"
The spokesperson's voice was urgent and agitated, as if something big was about to happen.
"Him? Who? Bloodthorn or the Undead?"
Mob asked instinctively.
"Bloodthorn! Declare Bloodthorn the winner! He's the champion!"
Upon hearing the spokesperson's words, Mob picked up the microphone and began to speak.
"It is with great regret that I announce that the Undead were unable to reach the competition venue."
Mob took a deep breath.
Gasping for breath, Gravel leaned against the glass entrance to the Flame Blade Arena, her short sword stained with blood.
The comrades ahead were all soldiers on leave and retired veterans who had spontaneously formed their own group.
The old knight and the polar bear were even spotted in the photos.
They held either heavy hammers or raised shields, confronting the security forces of a certain Grand Knight who wanted to enter the Flameblade Arena.
The female knight took out her terminal and made a phone call.
"Phew...Master, he's arrived."
"He still hasn't left. Sigh."
The old man sighed, but his expression clearly showed relief and emotion.
"Then it's the same arrangement I told you before. You guys defend the Flame Blade Arena until the match ends!"
His tone suddenly became firm and serious.
"Who wins or loses this match is not important at all. But a fair match must not be allowed to be tainted by any despicable person, not even a touch! If necessary, I'll go to the Knights' Association and cause a scene, and see if these medals on my body are still valid!"
Gravel gripped the short knife in his hand and accepted the order in a deep voice.
"Yes!"
