On the contrary, Iga was a true judo master with a solid foundation and fast, accurate movements. Despite Kotaro's many tricks, he still managed to grab Kotaro's arm.

"It's here!" Kanon often heard about Iga Natsuhiko's killer move when practicing with the members of the Extreme Style: the one-handed over-the-shoulder throw. Because Iga used it with such speed and power, it was also known as the "Tornado Over-the-Shoulder Throw".

Kotaro was thrown out, his feet landing first, which absorbed most of the force, but in judo rules, this is also considered to be landing on both shoulders.

"A perfect victory, the match is over."

I've written quite a bit more than I expected; it looks like the judo tournament won't end until the next chapter. I can also demonstrate the no-rhythm technique while I'm at it.

Section 44, Chapter 44: No Beat

Is the game over just like that?

Although Shindo Kotaro did not lose his ability to resist and did not become a "dead body" in martial arts, according to the rules of judo, landing on both shoulders means losing.

"That's it?" Iga was also somewhat incredulous. The legend of Tsurumine Academy had lost to him just like that?

"Shindo-senpai, this isn't the kind of match and victory I wanted..."

Just as Iga was about to leave, he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine as he sensed a famous sword being drawn from its sheath behind him.

That was Shindo Kotaro leaping up.

"I see, so this is your over-the-shoulder throw? I understand now." Kotaro grinned and gestured to the referee, "Alright, let's have an overtime match now!"

The first two matches were won by the Extreme Style, the third match was a draw, and the last two matches were won by the First Judo Club. Shouldn't this be overtime?

Everyone was shocked: "He included all of this from the beginning?"

At this moment, Grandma Mifune, who was acting as the sideline referee, saw Kanon next to her and said to her, "Kanon, Kotaro might be able to show something amazing next, so you have to watch carefully."

Hua Yin was stunned: "Something extraordinary?"

Kanon and Kotaro have never actually fought, but Kanon feels that she should be stronger. Perhaps she is lacking in karate and judo techniques, but if they really fight, Kanon, with her superhuman physical abilities, is confident of victory.

"Has Kotaro mastered any special techniques?" Kanon watched the "overtime" game with increasing focus.

In fact, this was the real final. Kotaro finally stopped holding back and used the judo techniques he had trained at the Mifune family and the Metropolitan Police Department one after another. He was very professional and was no longer the carefree guy he used to be. He even used ground techniques against Iga.

"Koutarou actually uses bedroom techniques on men!" This not only shocked Kanon, but everyone who had come into contact with Kotarou was petrified.

"Could this be what Kotaro is going to show us?"

of course not.

Iga remained in top form. Although Kotaro's attacks were fierce, Iga was still able to fight back and forth with him. He not only broke free from the restraints of the ground techniques, but also used the over-the-shoulder throw again, winning a half-win.

"Great, one more try and it'll be done!" Meishan cheered for her lover.

However, the vice-general, Dogu, looked serious: "Iga's proud Tornado shoulder throw only got half a win. Senior Shindo is getting stronger and stronger."

The intense back-and-forth between Kotaro and Iga lasted a long time, and in the end, the two were locked in a stalemate.

Ten seconds? Twenty seconds? The two men held each other's sleeves, but neither moved.

The referee did not stop the match. Anyone with a basic understanding of combat sports knew that this was the calm before the storm. Once the two made another move, the moment of truth would be decided.

“Even a full-force over-the-shoulder throw can’t threaten Shindo-senpai anymore…” Iga prepared to make his move: “But right now, I can unleash two hundred percent of my strength!”

In the blink of an eye, Iga's lightning-fast movements failed to catch his opponent. Kotaro had already launched an attack before him, turning into Iga's arms without warning and using the same one-handed over-the-shoulder throw to slam Iga over.

"Complete victory! Match over!"

The hustle and bustle, all the entanglements, youthful passion, laughter, and tears that had plagued Tsuramine Academy for the past few months all came to an end with this fall.

But the shock this fall brought to the martial artists present went far beyond that.

Kotaro's final move was completely unexpected and therefore impossible to predict. The moves he used afterward were actually irrelevant; the real "divine move" was the preparation before he made his move!

"Wow! This move... this move is..." This wasn't the first time Kanon had seen this move. When she sparred with Grandma Mifune before, she could occasionally feel the same situation. The opponent's attack was completely unpredictable, and Kanon could only barely cope with it by relying on her super-strong reflexes.

"This move is called no beat." When they first learned about the Extreme Style, the old lady had demonstrated no beat to Kotaro, and Mr. Shikato had also given a related explanation to everyone. However, Kanon came later and missed the initial "education," so she lacked a specific understanding of no beat. It was only then that the old lady "caught up" with her.

"No beat belongs to the ancient style of martial arts. The so-called 'beat' refers to the rhythm of the movement, breathing frequency, timing of attack and defense, length of arms and legs, etc. Modern martial arts advocate seizing the opponent's gaps to attack, while ancient martial arts, especially swordsmanship, have a deeper level of technique, which will try to conceal the 'beat' so that the opponent cannot predict their actions at all."

After listening to the old lady's explanation, Hanon couldn't help but yearn for the rhythmless move: "Koutarou has already learned this move, can I do it too?"

"Koutarou was extremely focused during his match with this Iga student, which is why he used the no-racket technique. It would be difficult for him to use it again."

The old lady gave a neither-condemnation nor-positive answer: "To master no-rhythm, one needs a wealth of experience and highly skilled technique. Only by knowing oneself can one know one's opponent. Rather than a technique, it is more of a state of mind. Many martial arts have similar states of mind, of course, provided that one can reach the peak."

Grandma Mifune offered further advice: "I noticed before that you, Kanon, are very talented in fighting, but you rely too much on that talent. You only rely on your physical advantages to fight, and you haven't developed a real fighting style. You may have a great advantage against ordinary martial artists, but you will be in great danger if you encounter a truly top-notch master."

"Hmm, is that so..." Hanon fell into deep thought.

Although the old lady's teachings were discouraging, she wasn't wrong. Despite defeating a powerful opponent like Akoya, Kanon could never find a way to surpass him, no matter how hard she tried, when she thought back to the Fang of Metsudo. Perhaps the reason was that Kanon didn't have her own fighting style. Her improvisational fighting style was like a tiger facing a turtle shell, unable to bite when it encountered a perfect enemy.

"Combat experience...my own style...no beat...I understand, thank you for your guidance!" Hanon bowed solemnly to Grandma Mifune. Hanon was very fortunate to have met such a renowned teacher who had shown her the way.

Grandma Mifune was always wearing a mask, but then Kotaro suddenly ran over and pulled it off.

"Ah—" The whole place erupted in cheers.

Underneath the mask was a face identical to Kumi's, thus exposing the "scandal" of Hong bringing her grandmother to play in place of her granddaughter in the first round!

Kotaro, however, didn't seem to care: "Before the tournament started, we agreed that if I beat Iga, I could take back the dojo. As for the Kyokkuryu, there's really no need to win. Kyokkuryu is still a karate club, not a judo club. Kumi and Sanshiro, you can take back the first judo club, as long as the dojo is returned to me."

And so, the judo tournament at Tsurumine Academy, which began and ended noisily, came to a successful close... or so it seemed.

The Tsurumine Academy arc has come to a temporary end. The ninja arc might come later, or it might not—it's a Schrödinger's cat situation…

In the next chapter, the author is considering whether to bring Kanon back to Kengan or back to the muscular girl; there are stories to tell on both sides.

Furthermore, Kanon's path to becoming a strong fighter seems clearer now. The author has taken some suggestions from previous posts and believes it's time for her to develop her own fighting style. However, I'm still thinking about what that style should be like.

That's all, there will be a third chapter later.

Section 45, Chapter 45: The Heart of a Boxing Champion

In Mr. Shirogane's gym, Hibiki leaned close to Akemi and whispered, "Hey, Akemi, have you noticed that Kanon has been acting gloomy lately? Is something wrong?"

“Indeed, that child has been quite depressed lately.” Zhu Mei also noticed Hanon’s unusual behavior, but she didn’t know why either.

Several days have passed since the Tsurumine Academy Judo Tournament. Thanks to Grandma Mifune's words, Kanon realized her shortcomings and has been thinking about how to accumulate experience and develop her own fighting style. Thinking so much naturally makes her look preoccupied, just like she did after watching the Metsudo no Kiba match.

At this moment, Ms. Rimi took advantage of her role as an older sister and went over to show concern for Kanon.

"Kane, is something on your mind?"

"...Huh? I'm fine, hahaha." Kanon emerged from her own world and gave a perfunctory reply: "It's still about family matters... By the way, where are Ayaka and Gina? Is something wrong with them?"

As Gina's roommate and Ayaka's best friend, Hibiki is the most qualified to speak on this: "No, they do come to the gym, but the Uehara family recently partnered with Mr. Shirogane's Gym and opened a new combat class, so they all went there to help out."

"A combat training class?" Hanon's eyes lit up immediately. Having been in contact with this field recently, she was now extremely interested in anything related to combat.

Hibiki scratched his head: "Um, that fighting training class is right next door. You can go check it out if you're interested."

As mentioned before, the Uehara family runs a glorious boxing gym, and due to the recent increase in members, they opened a branch at Mr. Shirogane's gym, with which they have a good relationship.

The new venue was hosted by Ayaka's older sister, Uehara Nana. Kanon and Hibiki had met her before, and this time Gina, Akemi, and Satomi-sensei also came to say hello.

"Haha, how about trying boxing?" After getting to know everyone better, Uehara Nana invited them to try boxing training, just like last time.

Even if Uehara Nana hadn't invited them, the muscular guys at the nearby Mr. Shirogane gym had already started a friendly exchange with the casual boxers at the Glorious Boxing Gym. It was like patients discussing their illnesses—no, it was more like muscles showing mutual respect…

In conclusion, the first all-staff exchange meeting between Mr. Silver Gym and Glory Boxing Gym was held.

"Ada da! Da da da da!" This is Gina and Ayaka's striking training. Both of them have a background in martial arts, and they always train together.

"Ouch! Pfft!" That was Ms. Zhu Mei. Although she yelled loudly, the effect of her punch hitting the sandbag was...

"Bang!" This...this was a loud sound. Her punching power seemed to have improved again. This time, she not only knocked the sandbag away, but also knocked away the two passerby boxers behind the sandbag.

Unsurprisingly, Xiang once again became the center of attention.

"Phew, I didn't hit the sandbag again, but it's fine, at least I can keep a low profile." Because of Hibiki's outstanding performance, Kanon still didn't show her true strength this time and maintained her "ordinary young lady" persona.

Over there, everyone had already gathered around to praise Hibiki. Uehara Nana even gave an impromptu explanation of boxing power generation: "The most important thing in boxing is actually the power of the lower body. The muscles in the upper legs can provide great rotational force~ Sakura's punching posture is particularly good, with a stable lower body and superb overall coordination. I'm not mistaken, you have talent, Sakura. Why don't you start practicing boxing now and go out and conquer the world?"

"Um... it just doesn't feel real." Just like last time, Hibiki refused.

"Um... before we start urging Xiang to explore the world, let's save those two passersby who were just knocked away by her. Their souls are already on their way to explore the world!" Hanon was still the one making sarcastic remarks.

When everyone gets together, the atmosphere naturally becomes more relaxed, and Hana, influenced by this, also becomes more cheerful, spending a wonderful day at the gym and boxing ring.

Before the workout ended, Nana Uehara said with some regret, "We had invited world boxing champion Gaolang to do an open practice today. He's an old friend of my dad's and is also registered at the Glory Boxing Gym, but unfortunately he wasn't feeling well and couldn't come, so we had to postpone it to another time..."

As she spoke, Nana Uehara pulled out a DVD: "This is a documentary about Gaolang, which discusses a lot of his boxing experience. If you're interested, you might want to take a look."

“Okay, I’m interested!” When it comes to fighting, Hanon is naturally very interested, and this Gaolang is very famous. She has heard of him a few times since she transmigrated. He is the absolute king of the boxing world who unified the four major leagues and one of the strongest fighters in the world.

As the disc is played, a brown-skinned, long-haired man stands proudly with an extraordinary air; that is none other than Gauran, the protagonist of the documentary.

“My name is Gaolang Winsawad, a proud subject of Thailand, and a professional boxer… For His Majesty, for the glory of our nation, all enemies who stand in my way shall be crushed…”

The film showcases Gaolang's life and various achievements. As the absolute king of the boxing world, Gaolang's performance was indeed outstanding, and some of the match videos were even more amazing, even to Kanon after she became stronger.

"Truly worthy of being a world boxing champion, his striking skills are comparable to that of the 'Fang of Destruction'! No, perhaps even stronger..."

One of Gaolang's self-narrations particularly resonated with Hanon. This boxing champion initially trained in Muay Thai, where he was a "fighting god" for twenty years starting at age five, before switching to boxing and modifying his Muay Thai techniques. In fact, a significant reason Gaolang stepped into the boxing ring was to improve his hand techniques, compensating for Muay Thai's neglect of the hands.

Gaolang did it. Although the film did not show this technique, Gaolang claimed that it was "his own unique fighting style, which combines the advantages of boxing and Muay Thai, and can be called the strongest striking technique."

“Establish a foundation, accumulate experience, then make up for deficiencies and keep getting stronger… The experience of this boxing champion Gaolang is just like Grandma Mifune’s teachings!” Hanon increasingly realized the correctness of this path.

Yes, it's been another fruitful day!

After finishing their workout, everyone prepared to go home, but Gina had something else to do: "I won't be going with everyone today. I have to go to the hospital to visit my senior."

"Huh? Gina actually has a Japanese senior?"

"Haha, yes, this senior brother is quite an interesting guy. I heard he was injured in a fighting competition recently, and it was quite serious. I should go and check on him."
