Hey everyone, I've been meaning to write this analysis of the 32 teams in the original Kengan manga for a long time. Today, let's discuss the teams in the original manga together.

First, the official grouping and selection order of the top 32 are as follows:

Based on the information given in the manga, I think we can clarify three things: First, most companies are aware of the strength of Ghana and Kuroki and try to avoid them; second, it is difficult to find the right form in the first match and it is also easy for later players to see through one's strengths, so it is a match that companies do not want to choose unless absolutely necessary; third, the fourth match, where Tokita Ohma is located, is the best position.

In addition, the author has another inference to explain the choices of some mid-to-late-stage companies: at the beginning, companies can choose to wait for opponents in an empty position, but the later the company goes, the less likely it is to choose an empty position in both directions, because those powerful fighters have not yet appeared, and the other side of the empty position may be waiting for a monster opponent.

Next, let's analyze the choices of each company one by one:

The turtle king in position 0 and the king horse in position 1 need no further explanation; one was a deliberate arrangement by the source material, and the other was an unintentional choice by Ichifumi.

The fighters in positions 2, 3, 4, and 5 all made their choices for a simple reason: to avoid the lower half of the bracket and to avoid the "Fang of Destruction." Ultimately, these companies all chose empty positions because they had no personal grudges against each other and were waiting for their future opponents to appear.

Okubo, in position 6, directly replaced Kana, which reduced the pressure on the later fighters and laid a good foundation for Kuroki's prestige. The empty spot next to Kuroki was left until the very end (poor Rito).

The 7th position, White Night News, was used by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) to dominate the lower half of the bracket. However, according to Hayami's later explanation, TEPCO just randomly selected their fighters, using them as pawns to disrupt the competition and attract attention. Even Julius was omitted. Only the original author's explanation can explain why TEPCO didn't send any fighters to the first bracket, with Julius and Meguro crammed into the second, and the third bracket already having three fighters: Passain, Fisherman, and Nikaido. Normally, even if they didn't send a fighter to the fourth bracket to weaken Kiba, they should at least have sent one or two fighters to the first bracket!

Bando's choice for position 8 is a bit strange. Okubo is very confident, and Bando is also very confident? So, when I got to this point, I could only speculate: Bando's hand whip was too much for him to handle, so a surprise attack on Ya in the third round would be a better choice. Let Ya go through two tough battles, and then win with Bando's surprise attack.

There's no need to say more about position 9, Hei Mu. He's a god-tier player who can pick any empty position and guarantee defeat in a do-or-die game. Since he chose the third tier, the first and second tiers have become extremely crowded.

Positions 10 and 11 belong to Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). TEPCO's chaotic lineup has already been discussed, so I won't elaborate further. As for Meguro and Julius, their arrangement in the second bracket is relatively reasonable; if they both win consistently, they won't meet until the third round. However, if TEPCO is truly confident these two can keep winning, why not send one of them to the first bracket to dominate the weaker opponents earlier? The Ohma players in the first two rounds are quite weak, and there aren't any super-strong players in the first bracket.

Of course, it turns out that Julius and Meguro are not yet at the level of super strong, at least not at the level of the top four.

Number 12, Mickey Mouse, was just there to fill a spot. Of course, the arrangement was reasonable; he was a blank spot in the third section. Tokyo Electric Power Company just randomly arranged the pieces in the lower half of the board and waited for the result. Even Nikaido from Byakuya News mainly relied on the infiltration ability of the Sirius Clan rather than valuing Nikaido's individual combat strength.

Samurai #13's choice is a bit puzzling. Even though Kuroki from Zone 3 and Fang from Zone 4 destined him to choose a position in Zones 1 and 2, he still chose to challenge Julius in the second round, which is quite fierce... From our later perspective, Tiger's most advantageous position might be to fight in the third match, facing Ouma in the second round, which shouldn't be a problem. The only explanation for why Koukai didn't choose Zone 1 is that he didn't want Tiger to fight too early...

Number 14, Jinten, is a tool company, and Haruo is also a tool person, the kind who can be assigned anywhere. Choosing Aguya is truly a plot-driven death, which is hard to explain. A reasonable explanation is that Jinten and Boss Hamburger were also bribed by TEPCO, and were TEPCO's ambush in the first zone. In this way, TEPCO's previous choice also has a more reasonable explanation.

Boss #15, Hamburger, was the first to appear, which actually fits Adam's character in the original work very well—arrogant, disdainful of others, and unconcerned about being observed.

Guan Lin (No. 16), Doctor (No. 17), and Shi Yuan (No. 19) all came with missions and were bound to their respective opponents. Among the first 15 fighters, there were actually few "tools" (players who were just there for the job), so they all naturally chose the empty positions, providing these three "vendetta-like" fighters with the opportunity they wanted.

Another point to mention is that with Guan Lin's return on the 16th, the second section was already full. With this relatively easy section full, many people had to squeeze into the third section, resulting in characters like Setsuna Yurai ending up there. However, the overall strength of the first section has never been strong, so everyone could have easily moved to the first section. This can only be explained by the original author giving Wang Ma a power-up, allowing him time to grow (even so, Wang Ma still had to unreasonably endure Wu Lei'an)...

Inaba, number 18, is another tool. When he made his choice, there were many open spots and other opponents to choose from, but he chose Ohma. The manga says that President Urida is a master of analysis, so the only explanation is that he thought Ohma was indeed relatively weak in the first round, and as long as he got past Ohma, all the benefits of that position would be Inaba's.

The 20th Mikazuki and Inaba are similar, and are likely products of the mentality mentioned earlier, where people are increasingly hesitant to choose double blank positions as the game progresses.

Actor number 21 is basically the weakest, President Yiwu has a poor eye for talent! As for why he chose the fourth district to fight, I've already explained it in the main text, so it's pretty logical.

Number 22, Passain, and number 25, Fisherman, are both from Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). TEPCO is a bit of a mystery; they somehow managed to pit two different fighters against each other here... But there are some explanations, like they don't care about the group assignments, or they might have fixed the match so Fisherman would intentionally lose to pave the way for Passain to dominate the lower bracket.

Cosmos 23's options are already quite limited. If Nishipinji didn't dare face the Wu clan and therefore didn't choose the third open spot, he could have challenged Passay in the third zone. However, choosing to field in the first match is also reasonable; he's not just a utility player.

Lei An and the Priest, who were on the 24th and 26th respectively, had a long-standing feud in the group. Lei An's choice was not wrong. Playing in the third match was the most reasonable position for him. The Priest followed suit and showed his "bloodline"... Of course, it was later proven that the Priest's bloodline was no match for the Wu clan.

From Setsuna on the 27th to Rito on the 31st, there was practically no choice. After the companies ahead of them had divided up the easier schedules and opponents, they could only choose the group that was as advantageous to them as possible. Therefore, the grouping of these five contestants was completely determined.

In conclusion, the early contestants had reason to be separated, while the later companies had no choice. The grouping in the middle involved many past conflicts, with several groups of contestants being paired together. These individuals formed the cornerstone of the stable grouping order. Opportunities to truly disrupt the allocation of competition slots are few and far between; only contestants who entered the competition early and whose companies had no obvious rivalries could truly disrupt it.

So the biggest problem is Haruo's choice. Why did he choose Akoya when there were so many open spots? Another puzzling choice is Inaba. Choosing Ohma isn't unreasonable, but he had other options, and the result might have been better. Koma's choice was also a bit problematic; he faced Julius too early. If he had played in the first zone, he might have actually made it to the final.

Grouping is a dynamic process. The original author cleverly arranged many grudges and preconditions, placing Kiba and Kuroki in zones three and four early on, and pushing everyone else towards zones one and two. The only real pawns are Haruo, Inaba, and Takeru. If one of them makes a different choice, it will create a chain reaction that greatly changes the grouping process.
