Those time travelers that year

But Buffett didn't want to die; he didn't want to become someone else's food, much less a 'steak'. If he didn't want that, then the only option was to constantly strive and struggle to survive.
To survive, Buffent gathered all his troops and servants from across the entire plane. Half-Infernal Tauren, Infernal Tauren, along with the Prayer and other demons, rallied at Buffent's palace, preparing for a final battle against the arriving Zerg.
Initially, the Labyrinth Lord intended to use the labyrinth's endless nature to isolate and divide the battlefield, ideally causing the Zerg swarm to become lost within its boundless depths. However, upon seeing those colossal beings, far surpassing the ancient dragons in power, wielding chillingly large bone blades, shattering walls, smashing rocks, and flattening roads in the magical mirror image, Buffett knew that the labyrinth could not stop the Zerg swarm.
Left with no other choice, and to prevent the swarms from traversing the labyrinth and spreading the creep to every corner, the Tauren King Buffyment had to dispatch his minions to launch a preemptive strike. Utilizing their familiarity with the labyrinth, Buffyment's men, employing teleportation spells, began a surprise attack on the swarms, attempting to disrupt their judgment.
But it was useless. The Zerg swarm, sharing the same psychic network, easily rendered this harassment tactic ineffective. The first attempt might have a positive effect on Zerg, but from the second onward, every raid was utterly ineffective against the Zerg.
The Thunder Beast's enormous body, along with the incredibly hard bone plates that grow on its body, is enough to render most attacks hopeless.
Fire was ineffective; the bone plates, which could withstand even plasma cannons, completely ignored ordinary fire spells. Ice was useless too; the swarm's incredible adaptability rendered most low-temperature damage a joke. Their relentless, high-speed metabolism allowed all Zerg to maintain peak combat effectiveness even in extremely low temperatures. Sonic waves had a slight effect, but not enough to kill the incredibly resilient swarm. Force fields were useless, and acid was utterly absurd.
In the end, Buffett's men, who had taken the initiative to attack, were horrified to discover that most of their methods were ineffective against the Thunder Beast. On the contrary, the Thunder Beast's massive bone blades could easily tear their bodies apart and shatter any magical defensive force fields.
Unless bombarded with legendary spells, the Thunder Beast simply rampages wildly. Behind it, Zerglings, Roaches, Hydralisks, and Destroyers follow in quick succession, tearing apart any unfortunate creatures that cannot escape in time.
Buffett's army suffered defeat after defeat, failing to effectively hinder the swarm's advance and instead being strangled by the swarm.
Even if they intended to deliberately lure the swarm away, it was useless. There were simply too many swarms, enough to completely engulf the endless labyrinth. As the swarms advanced, the creep continued to cover the area, and wave after wave of worker bees came and transformed into various fleshy structures. Relying on the creep for nutrient transfer, these Zerg openly and brazenly blocked the entrance and began mass-producing units.
Hatching grounds and queens hatched one after another, producing larvae that, in turn, were transformed into various combat weapons through the nourishment and genetic modification provided by the flesh-and-blood structures.
After some time, Buffalo Men, the king of the Minos, discovered in despair that these insects were impossible to kill and were actually multiplying.
In a desperate move, Buffett mobilized all his troops and pressed forward, dispatching elite forces to carry out decapitation strikes using teleportation magic, aiming to destroy the hatcheries that were constantly producing larvae and disrupt the swarm's unlimited production of units.
To this end, he even personally went to the battlefield, forcing those subordinates abandoned by Cangye in Bone Fortress to come along. A fierce war was about to break out. As a demon lord, the Minotaur King Buffetment was not weak. He was one of the few monsters who could single-handedly defeat and kill Thunder Beasts on the front lines.
Unfortunately, the sheer number of these monsters, the Thunder Beasts, in the swarm far exceeded Buffett's expectations. If one was killed, ten more would be sent in; if ten Thunder Beasts couldn't handle it, then a hundred, a thousand, ten thousand... Even the Thunder Beasts, the main force of the siege, were just larger cannon fodder to Zerg, and cannon fodder relied on sheer numbers.
On the main battlefield, no matter how much Buffent struggled, he was ultimately surrounded by the Zerg swarm that had burrowed underground and used Nydus Worms to flank and encircle him. Countless Zerglings, Roaches, and Hydralisks overwhelmed Buffent's forces, and he, the Labyrinth Lord, was surrounded by thousands of Ultralisks.
Even if this demon lord could kill all of these thousands of thunder beasts, there were still ten thousand more waiting for him outside. Further away, more larvae, having obtained sufficient nutrients, began to transform into fleshy cocoons, evolving into thunder beasts.
Meanwhile, the decapitation strike force that Buffett had placed high hopes on was repeatedly defeated by the spine-spining reptiles and was eventually overwhelmed by a swarm of green exploding bugs.
628. The Realm of Obscurity
The Realm of Oblivion, also known as the Underworld, is the world of the dead. Like a polar tent, it exists outside the normal Toril universe system. Only when a mortal dies does their soul leave the material world and descend here.
This is a vast, flat, gray, tedious, and monotonous world with no distinct topographical features. Here, all magic is suppressed, preventing even powerful mages capable of traversing countless planes from reaching this place in their lifetime. Of course, no mage would willingly choose to come here.
Incidentally, those who can come here are generally servants of the gods. These servants can come from the realm of their respective deities and bring back the souls that truly belong to the gods they serve. The gods, out of respect for the god of death or perhaps out of a sense of dread, will not descend here unless absolutely necessary.
This world of the dead has changed rulers several times over countless years. It was originally the territory of the ancient god of death, Jag. After Jag resigned and abandoned his rule, the Three Gods of Death took over. In reality, during the reign of the Three Gods of Death, the true ruler of this realm was the god of death, Melkor. And it was from him that this originally rather ordinary and dull world saw the emergence of something utterly detestable—the Wall of the Believers.
This wall was built during the time of Melkor, using the souls of ordinary people with no faith. In other words, once you are a person without faith, after death, you can only be taken and turned into a brick to be pasted on this wall.
As the original ruler of this kingdom, Jaeger was indifferent to this thing that made almost all the gods, including good gods, evil gods, and demons, cheer.
In reality, Melkor's creation of this hate-attracting contraption was most likely a way to protect himself. Everyone knows the Three Death Gods love to court death, especially their ascension to godhood, which was entirely Jaeger's attempt to shift blame and abandon the mule.
So, to avoid actually dying from his reckless actions, Melkor created the Wall of the Believers, a contraption that directly impacted the interests of all gods, demons, and even devils. It must be said, this was very clever, because since it concerned their own interests, no matter how much trouble the three gods of death caused, the other gods could only deal with them through the rules of the game, not through physical confrontation.
This led to the three gods of death running wildly down the path of self-destruction.
However, tragedy struck. Good brothers are loyal to each other. They became gods together, and they courted death together... and then nothing happened. Bal fell, Melkor fell, and only Bane successfully resurrected. Then, not long ago, Bane also met his tragic end.
But this doesn't mean that this wall of faithless people can be demolished.
The newly appointed God of Death, Krenvor, did consider abolishing the Wall of the Believers upon assuming office, similar to the unjust systems established during the reign of the incompetent Melkor. However, he ultimately did not do so. The reasons for this are widely debated, but it is conceivable that Krenvor, who ascended to godhood directly from a mortal and instantly became a powerful deity, was more aligned with mortals in his thinking.
But from a mortal's perspective, no one would want to wallpaper their walls.
Especially those powerful mages, when there is really no other way, will transform themselves into liches, preferring to become a skeleton rather than worship a god.
In one timeline, Kranz faces skepticism and watches as those who question him make their choices. If they choose not to overthrow him, the questioners may enjoy a fulfilling later life. But if they choose the path of tearing down this wall, they must become evil, single-handedly confronting all the gods, and ultimately be defeated by them.
But this timeline is different. In that timeline, the one who questioned the wall was a mortal who grew up but ultimately failed to topple it. In this timeline, the ones planning to demolish it… if they swarm together all those gods and their factions, they'd probably be instantly killed by a single AOE cleave.
Yes, that's right, let's welcome the most powerful demolition team in the history of this multiverse!
Just as the endless abyss was completely sealed off, and just as the voice proclaiming its existence resounded throughout all worlds, in the Misty Realm, another being, equally transcending the original world and causing trouble in the abyss—a monkey?
A terrifying, upright ape tore through the barrier of space and time, descending upon this plane. In an instant, a crimson light illuminated this normally monotonous and gloomy world. In the cities of judgment, the astonished gazes of the dead, the dumbfounded gazes of the divine servants who came to this plane to select the souls of believers for the divine kingdom, and the surprised gazes of the false believers punished with forced labor.
The crimson light that descended from the sky fell like the sun.
Then, from within, a giant boot stepped out and stomped onto this world of the dead.
This was an enormous, terrifying upright ape, a full thousand feet tall. Compared to this monkey, giants, titans, and ancient dragons were utterly insignificant. After this monkey descended upon this land, the entire gloomy world trembled incessantly. The mere presence of its feet caused earthquakes to surge in all directions, shattering the peace that had reigned for countless years.
Then, amidst the gazes of the many dead, the monkey pointed at the crystal tower in the center of the City of Judgment and roared, "Hey, over there, this illegal building your predecessor built is going to be demolished today!" Its voice was louder than thunder, and with the monkey's shout, the entire City of Judgment, even with the support of a powerful god, trembled at the sound.
With a roar, the terrifying upright ape stared at the crystal tower in the center of the city, its eyes burning with golden-red flames. It secretly channeled the full power of this clone, ready to unleash a devastating blow—a modified version of the WCJ J Nuclear Iron Fist—if the other side tried to waste words, and obliterate that idiot with a single punch.
And so, under the earnest gaze of the monkey, and in the eyes of the inhabitants of the City of Judgment and all the dead, the current young God of Death, Krenvor, appeared atop the Crystal Tower as a weary warrior.
He is a young man, and indeed he is a young man.
Krenvor became the God of Death inexplicably, so he still maintained the attire of his mortal days, wearing chainmail and a dark brown cloak. At first glance, no one could connect this seemingly weary mortal adventurer with the powerful God of Death he is now.
If it weren't for those turbulent years, Kranz would probably have remained just a mortal throughout his life. Therefore, among the current gods, he is the only one who still maintains the mindset of a mortal.
629. Demolition
Therefore, even with his mortal mindset, Kramwall was stunned when faced with a super monkey that was beyond his imagination, and it took him quite a while to come back to his senses.
There was no way around it; a monkey a thousand feet tall, even just standing there without doing anything, could create a suffocating pressure. The shadow cast by the monkey on the ground enveloped the entire City of Judgment, and its fiery eyes, burning with golden-red flames, made everyone who looked up at it feel as if they were not eyes at all, but two burning suns.
Even the most troublesome divine abominations, the ancient evils that terrified the gods, pale in comparison to this monkey.
So even after regaining his senses, he still had to look up at the monkey's current god of death, Kranz, and had to force himself to stay alert rather than immediately turn and run. In fact, the warrior's intuition he retained from his mortal days had been frantically warning him after many years.
The warning basically said that if they didn't run away, they would be blasted to smithereens.
Out of duty as the God of Death, Kranvor had to suppress his urge to turn and run; he had no other option. Logically speaking, what right did this young and powerful god have to personally receive this monkey who dared to challenge him to a duel at the slightest provocation?
That's because when the monkey came here, the former God of Death, who was also Kranvor's teacher, Jaeger, unusually changed his attitude. He patted him on the shoulder kindly, gave him a "somewhat troublesome" task, and then disappeared.
Forced into the position, Clemvor had no choice but to personally confront the terrifying upright ape's questions.
Then, under the watchful eyes of a large crowd of onlookers, the current young God of Death calmly told the monkey that this Wall of No Believers had absolutely nothing to do with him. It was created by his predecessor, and the reason it hadn't been demolished was because most of the people on it had voted against it.
The explanation is roughly that tearing down the wall will inevitably lead to those people no longer believing in God (the number of unbelievers will increase because there is no punishment after death), and when this happens, the gods will not sit idly by but will intervene, so in the end, it is still mortals (human beings) who will suffer.
"Nonsense! What kind of idiot, moron, or brain-dead freak said that?!" The monkey retorted bluntly, "Mortals can live perfectly well even without gods. What they believe in is their business. Why create such a thing?!"
Cranvor then stated that this had nothing to do with him, that his duties did not include this wall, and that he was the god of death, not the god of the Wall of the Believers.
"Well, I, Old Sun, have been thinking, this wall is affecting the city's appearance, the development plan of the multiverse, and the smooth flow of traffic in the underworld. It's also an illegal and non-compliant building. Should we demolish it now?!"
"Please go ahead, sir..." Kranvor spread his hands and stated, "I am the God of Death, not the God of Cities, much less the God of Walls. My duties do not include any related obligations or responsibilities." This kind of shirking of responsibility was clearly not something that this young man's powerful divine power could come up with, as could be seen from the suppressed reluctance on the face of this God of Death.
"Alright! Then I, Old Sun, will give you face and only demolish the wall, nothing else. Of course, I, Old Sun, will take full responsibility." The monkey laughed heartily, releasing his fist which had been holding back all his power (to which Crane breathed a sigh of relief), and then shifted his gaze to the wall of the faithless. "Indeed, it's an illegal and unsightly building that affects the city's appearance..."
As he spoke, the monkey reached out and grabbed a stick, which appeared in his hand.
The staff held by a monkey a thousand feet tall is naturally magnificent; from this angle, it looks like a mountain is being held in its hand.
"Hey, that illegal building that's ruining the city's appearance, take this from me, Old Sun!"
The club was raised high, emitting a crimson light—a light and heat of immeasurable magnitude. At that moment, the entire realm of the dead shimmered with a magnificent radiance.
Meanwhile, the divine servants who had been in a daze suddenly realized what the monkey was planning to do. Some shouted and tried to stop the monkey, while others hurriedly contacted their superiors.
Those who tried to stop the monkey were fine with just talking, since the monkey was too big to hear them anyway. But some of them were incredibly naive and actually tried to use 'physical' methods. Perhaps they knew they couldn't really stop it, and were just trying to buy time or attract attention—but they were all blasted to smithereens by the monkey's protective aura.
The specific process was that the divine servant launched an attack, hitting the monkey with perfect accuracy, but the damage was immune to the monkey, and the attack could not penetrate the monkey's armor, thus failing to forcibly reduce its health.
When the monkey's passive skill [Protective Qi] is activated, attacks will deal a reflection damage equal to 30% of the attack amount against the monkey plus 10% of the monkey's maximum health (true damage). This effect does not support dice rolls, immunity, or pardon.
The servant of the gods loses the amount of the reflected damage (actual) as health. Since it does not support rolling dice, immunity, or pardon, the servant of the gods is deemed to have lost all its HP and is considered to have lost GG.
Well, what's more tragic than not being able to damage someone? It's when you can't damage them, but you get killed by the reflected damage, and the reflected damage is incredibly detrimental—it's real damage.
And so, with all efforts futile, they could only watch helplessly as the monkey, wielding its enormous club, brought it down with a single blow. In an instant, boundless radiance enveloped the entire Wall of the Believers, then crumbled, shattered, collapsed… The Wall of the Believers, which stood outside the City of Judgment, after enduring the long passage of time, has today become a part of history.
'No……'
'What did you do?!'
'Are you waging war against the gods?'
'Why did you do this? Why did you break the covenant of the gods...?'
……
At this moment, the gods, who had belatedly received the message from their subordinates, could only watch helplessly as the entire Wall of the Believers collapsed and crumbled, and as the souls of mortals, imprisoned for countless years, broke free from their despairing captivity amidst joyful cries.
At this moment, apart from a few who coldly observed the various ugly behaviors of their jumping-up colleagues, the will of the rest of the gods was united like never before. Under the guidance of the will of several pantheons and several powerful gods, and drawn by the wrath of the gods as representatives of the Force, countless bolts of lightning flashed in this world of the dead.
"Screw your agreement! I, Old Sun, have never signed that damn toilet paper agreement..." In response, the monkey roared to the sky, "And another one! Which idiot said this is an agreement? Step forward, and I, Old Sun, will knock you all down completely today."
"Come on, let's fight to our hearts' content!"
630. The Monkey Who Took Action
The monkey roared to the sky, its fiery eyes shining as brightly as the sun.
The entire hazy realm began to shake with the monkey's roar. Countless dead beings existing in this world trembled in the face of the monkey's explosive aura. Golden-red flames overflowed from the monkey's body, burning fiercely, transforming the monkey into a bright spark that illuminated the eternal blue sky.
"Come on, who has a problem with me smashing this illegal building?!" the monkey roared. "Show yourselves, and I, Old Sun, will use those bald thieves from the Western Paradise's 'Subduing Demons' technique to teach you a lesson with my supreme divine skill of striking you on the head."
"Your Majesty, the establishment of the Wall of Believers was unanimously approved by the gods..." At this moment, a clear, cold female voice, like the moon, began to ring out, "...This is the decision of the gods. Even if you are an ancient god of primal forces, you should not act so arbitrarily and disregard it..."
"Get lost!" Unfortunately, the monkey had no patience whatsoever. Before the voice could continue its long-winded explanation, it retorted directly, "Do I, Old Sun, need to explain myself to a bunch of useless cowards and pig-headed teammates? Besides... even pigs are much smarter than you bunch of useless cowards. Get lost and stop your babbling—"
"I'm just saying this: if you have any objections, keep them to yourself."
Boom!
Lightning flashed across the gloomy sky, enraging the gods who represented the Force. The monkey's blatant disregard for reason had clearly drawn all their hatred. Even knowing that one of them was no match for the monkey, at this moment, to protect their own interests and authority, the gods, for the first time ever, chose to join forces.
"Join forces?" The monkey sneered, looking at the lightning flashing in the sky. His eyes blazed with fury. This scene stirred up a memory of that moment when 100,000 heavenly soldiers and generals surrounded Flower Fruit Mountain. "Good, good, good... Come on then! So what if the gods join forces? I've never been afraid."
"I am the Great Sage Equal to Heaven—Sun Wukong!"
Countless bolts of lightning fell from the gloomy sky, a manifestation of the combined will of the gods. The sky was ablaze with lightning, a testament to the immense power of the sea of primal energy unleashed by the gods. Faced with this deluge of lightning, Krenvor, who had been observing from the sidelines, suddenly changed his expression drastically.
Almost all known gods and several pantheons joined forces to create a monstrous surge in the Sea of Force. This power surpassed even the realm of great divine power, and under the united will of the gods, the entire Sea of Force began to pour out enormous energy towards the Misty Realm.
