As soon as a golden light flashed, Mu Bai teleported into the old house. A pungent stench assaulted his nostrils, making him want to vomit.

Before he could find Viktor, he first saw rows of robots "facing the wall in repentance".

Each of them was covered in tubes, through which a thick, grayish-green liquid flowed, giving them the energy to move.

Several of the less fortunate robots were knocked to the ground by the missiles, revealing some kind of white, hard object beneath their damaged shells—it was unclear whether it was a skull or some kind of metal artifact.

The glass tanks that filled several walls were filled with countless internal organs, their rise and fall with the liquid a testament to the mad scientist's atrocities and sins.

"How about it? My old buddy's pretty tough, isn't he?"

Jess stepped into the house through the broken pieces, his arrogant expression contrasting sharply with his luxurious gentlemanly attire.

"It'll do." Mu Bai nodded, his eyes constantly scanning his surroundings, alert to any potential danger.

However, Viktor never showed up.

There weren't even any government agencies or thugs.

With such a commotion, it was impossible for Viktor not to notice—the alarm had been ringing for quite some time.

It wasn't until the three of them had explored the entire house that they finally spotted the half-human, half-machine figure in a dimly lit corner.

"It's been a long time, old friend," the figure said from behind. "Three hundred and seventy-four days... ah, more than a year."

"You remember it really well, Tinhead."

Jess raised the giant cannon, aimed at the enemy, but did not rush to fire.

“You should know why I’ve come to you. Hand over the crystal, and explain the matter of the Alchemist Baron robot, and I can apply for a reduced sentence for you.”

“You’re still so arrogant, Jess…” Victor finally turned around, his iris lens emitting a yellow light that symbolized high temperature.

He gently swung his metal prosthetic limb, and the robots in the room immediately raised their heads, like wild beasts just awakened from their slumber.

"Throughout this year, I have continuously pursued excellence, breaking through technological bottlenecks time and time again and driving the process of glorious evolution."

"But you, you remain stuck in that rotten and ignorant Piltover workshop, making no progress whatsoever."

"Look, old friend, the toy in your hand is still from a year ago, how ridiculous..."

"You can't stop me, you can't stop the glorious evolution of humanity!"

As Viktor's final roar faded, dozens of robots launched an attack simultaneously.

Even those who had been maimed by the electric ball got up and charged forward recklessly.

"I could smash your junk a year ago, and I can do it again a year from now!"

Faced with the siege of the mechanical legion, Jess showed no panic whatsoever. Instead, he excitedly grabbed his Hextech warhammer and charged into battle.

He first did a cool front flip, then used gravity to swing his warhammer and smash it down heavily on the robot in front.

A year ago, he used this same Sky Leap to end Viktor's prized robot.

But things are different now.

As the robot ran, it slightly turned to the side to dodge the heavy blow, then threw a punch so fast that Jess had no chance to dodge.

bang——

Jess was thrown through the air, spitting out a mouthful of blood that splashed onto the vials containing human organs.

“I’ve said it before,” Victor said, looking down at Jess, “I’ve been making progress, while you’ve been standing still.”

As soon as he finished speaking, his third hand fired a laser beam, instantly charring and melting the Hextech warhammer.

Although Jess dodged immediately, his warhammer was still partially damaged and would likely be difficult to reshape before it could be repaired.

"Embrace progress!" Viktor locked onto the target with his iris lens, about to fire the second laser.

At the critical moment, a flash of sword light abruptly stopped his movements.

“A year ago, Jess was alone, but now there are three of them.”

Mu Bai held his sword horizontally in front of Viktor, a smile on his face.

Chapter Sixty Cold Weapons and Firearms

The few residents in Xinghuo Lane all locked their doors and windows to avoid being affected.

The towering flames illuminated the streets, and some of the bolder night owls peered out of their windows to watch the spectacle, cheering and exclaiming in amazement.

They were used to it—gang shootouts were common here, happening almost every ten days or so.

However, there aren't many that are as spectacular as this.

A young man wielding a sword, a girl with pigtails carrying a gun, and a leather-clad man with a large iron hammer face off against dozens of metal monsters, creating a striking contrast.

As for the situation... well, flesh and blood are no match for steel and iron.

"These things are a bit outrageous..."

Jess huddled behind cover, his once-handsome suit now tattered and torn, even his beloved Hextech Warhammer was dull and lifeless, its internal wiring damaged beyond recognition.

Those robots are too powerful...

Their strength, speed, and reaction time are all beyond the reach of normal humans, and their physical strength is ridiculously high.

"This is really troublesome..." Jinx muttered to herself as she reloaded her ammo from behind another wall.

Only Mu Bai's situation is slightly better.

His speed surpassed that of the mechanical legion, and Doran's sword could easily slice through their metal shells. Most importantly, Viktor's lasers and the robots' ranged attacks were completely ineffective against him.

However, the overall situation is still not optimistic—the enemy is too numerous and tireless, and they can continue to attack even with broken arms and legs, until their heads are chopped off.

"It seems we underestimated our opponent."

Mu Bai used his Steel-Slaying Flash to pierce the neck of one enemy, then used the other's body as leverage to roll behind cover.

"The individual combat capabilities of these robots are somewhat exaggerated..."

"Victor gave them crystal shards!" Jayce immediately chimed in. "Where did that guy... get so many Shurima crystals?!"

"We'll know once we catch him." Mu Bai shook his aching arm and peeked halfway over at Viktor.

The mechanical legion began to form an encirclement.

Hmm... It's difficult, but not impossible.

These robots are not entirely mechanical, but rather "glorious evolutionary products" modified by humans.

Viktor used extremely brutal methods to erase their will and then drastically modified their bodies, turning them into half-human, half-machine monsters.

There's not much to say about the mechanical parts; they can only be destroyed by brute force.

But the human portion... that's all nutrients used to heal wounds, so we can't waste it.

“It’s time to go all out,” he turned to his two companions and called out, “I’ll charge out and hold off the mechanical legion, you two take care of Victor.”

"Huh?" The two of them exclaimed simultaneously, their voices a mixture of confusion and surprise.

They struggled to kill even one of these monsters individually, yet Mu Bai wanted to hold them all off by himself.

Even if you want to feed kills, you can't do it like this!

“Don’t do anything rash, Xiaobai.” Jinx frowned, her beautiful eyes filled with worry. “I’m not worried about you… I just think… this is too stupid, we should think of another way.”

Jess nodded silently, also agreeing that it was too risky.

“This is the best way,” Mu Bai insisted. “Continuing to drag this out will only lead to us being slowly boiled like frogs. Our physical strength is no match for the robots; we must finish this quickly.”

"..." Jinx bit her lower lip tightly, as if she wanted to argue something more, but she couldn't say anything.

Seeing the girl's uneasy look, Mu Bai felt a warmth in his heart and immediately reached out to rub her head. "Don't worry, I can handle it."

"Your hand...who told you to touch me...and I told you I wasn't worried about you!"

"I'm worried about you. Be careful and stay safe."

"None of your business..."

Jess, who was not far away, twitched at the corner of his eye and suddenly felt that he was superfluous.

Damn it, can't you be a little more mindful of your image? This is a public place...

"Alright, it's time to get started."

Mu Bai gripped his longsword, counted down from three in his mind, and leaped out, instantly severing a tin head.

Then—Step Forward Slash!

Wind Barrier!

The sudden counterattack surprised Viktor somewhat, but only slightly.

He calmly gave orders to the mechanical legion, and the robots that had formed an encirclement immediately changed direction and surged toward Mu Bai.

In an instant, gunshots rang out, and the cold glint of sharp blades flashed continuously inside the room.

Even with his superhuman physical abilities, Mu Bai could not withstand such a dense and fierce attack. He was soon hit for the first time since the start of the battle – an electrified steel blade grazed past him and cut his right arm holding the sword.

After that, his dodging became noticeably stiffer, and he was attacked a second time soon after, then a third, a fourth...

More and more wounds were causing him to grimace in pain, and some of the deeper wounds were almost damaging his internal organs, but he had to persevere.

They need to hold out until most of the robots surround them, otherwise Jinx and Jayce will have a hard time finding an opportunity to directly attack Viktor...

About half a minute later, nearly 90% of the robots were lured away and swarmed around each other like locusts fighting for food.

The opportunity has finally arrived.

"Now's the time!" Mu Bai roared, swinging his longsword with all his might. The air in the room instantly condensed into a gale, blowing towards the mechanical legion.

Gale-Slaying Slash!

The dense array of sword lights was dazzling, and countless metal fragments fell from mid-air, their clanging sounds like a symphony celebrating the weapons and techniques of an old era.

As he swung his sword wildly, Mu Bai could clearly feel his wounds healing rapidly.

This is the power of Blood Hunger.

As long as the robot still has human parts, that flesh and blood can be used to treat wounds.

When the sword light stopped, all the robots that had been lifted up by the wind were reduced to fragments, but not a trace of blood could be seen on the ground.
