“How can you be so stingy?” Lappland said. “I’m just looking, I’m not going to break it.”
"I didn't say I wouldn't let you see, but you just reached out your hand!"
Lin Ye naturally wanted to protect his gun. Although guns weren't exactly fragile, most races in Terra possessed considerable strength. What if someone accidentally dismantled the gun he'd worked so hard to acquire? He'd be devastated! Especially since Lin Ye had just spent half his savings on bullets from Jessica. He didn't want to end up with bullets but no gun.
"Fine, don't move then. It's just an angel's gun, I've seen them before." Lappland crossed her arms, somewhat disdainfully, then she remembered something and looked up at Lin Ye, "By the way, you quack doctor are actually the head of that psychological department."
Lin Ye rolled his eyes: "You're the quack! I'm a psychologist, okay? I told you that last night."
“Really?” Lappland tilted her head. “Then I forgot.”
Lin Ye was a little annoyed. He had prepared what he was going to say to Lappland, but now he hadn't used a single word. However, in order to regain his composure, he still said, "You'd better be polite to me, or I won't sign your autograph."
"Sign? Do I need you to sign?" Lappland happily produced the agreement. "I've already signed it."
Author's note: I'd like to recommend Daozhang's new book, "The Knight King Divided into O Equal Parts." Those interested can check it out.
At their sacred wedding, the bride and groom received blessings from family and friends. The newlyweds looked at each other, smiled happily, and then exchanged vows with a kiss, embarking on a new chapter in their lives amidst applause.
This is how it should have gone, but at Lei Luo's wedding...
"You, Artoria, can touch me, but I, Artoria, can't?! We're both Artoria, why do you get to monopolize us all!"
"...With this alone! Holy Lance, pull the anchor!"
"Who's afraid of who! Nameless Victory Sword!!"
“…Excalibur!”
"Um, this... I'm sorry! Calibum!"
"Whoa, even if it's another version of me, anyone who steals the king's possession deserves to die! Excalbur Morgan!"
Lei Luo, who should have been the protagonist, could only watch helplessly as his bride and a group of "herself" got into a fight, and he was powerless to do anything about it.
Chapter 213 I'll Teach You How to Get Close to Texas
Lin Ye didn't even look closely before saying bluntly, "It's fake."
"What do you mean fake?"
“I’m saying your signature is fake,” Lin Ye said. “You signed it yourself, so it doesn’t count.”
Lappland's ears perked up, and she said rather angrily, "I didn't sign it myself, this is your psychologist's office, okay? Look at the stamp on it."
Lin Ye then looked up and was taken aback.
The agreement from Lappland did indeed bear the seal of the counseling center. This seal had been issued a few days prior, and although Lin Ye hadn't had the chance to use it himself, he recognized it, so there was no possibility of forgery.
"You!" Lin Ye roared, "You dare steal my seal?!"
"Where did I steal your stamp!" Lappland retorted angrily. "How dare you slander me out of thin air!"
"What innocence?! Caught red-handed! You dare to do it but not admit it?"
Lin Ye was genuinely annoyed. After all, Zilan had made it very clear to him the importance of his new job. Even if there weren't any serious consequences, a mistake would still be very troublesome, so Lin Ye valued this job highly. He planned to carefully observe and evaluate Lappland, but Lappland didn't give him that chance, directly stealing the seal!
In Lin Ye's view, this was utterly morally reprehensible, especially since Lappland wouldn't admit it!
Unable to contain himself any longer, Lin Ye shouted, "This stamp is mine! I didn't stamp it for you, and you say you didn't stamp it without my permission? Then who stamped it?! Was it a dog?!"
Just then, a calm voice came from outside the door.
"I built it."
Lin Ye was stunned for a moment, then subconsciously turned his head and saw Skadi returning from the bathroom.
Skadi said, "I'm not a dog."
Lin Ye: "..."
Ten minutes later, Lappland, whose innocence had been unjustly tarnished, sat angrily on the sofa, Skadi stood expressionless by the window gazing at the scenery outside, and sandwiched between them was Lin Ye, who looked extremely embarrassed.
“Um…” Lin Ye apologized to Skadi first, “I didn’t mean any harm. I was just angry and said it offhand.”
"Ah."
"I really meant no harm."
Skadi nodded.
"You're not angry, are you?"
"No."
Lin Ye looked at Skadi's profile but couldn't read any emotion, which made him even more uncertain.
Finally, Skadi spoke up, asking Lin Ye, "I can't stamp that seal, right?"
“Uh…” Lin Ye didn’t know what to say.
But Skadi understood, and she nodded: "I get it. I originally thought that since I'm your assistant, I should be able to cover it up."
"Uh, this is..."
“It’s my fault, I overthought things,” Skadi said softly. “I’m sorry.”
It was a perfectly normal statement, but Lin Ye felt something was off about it, and a sour feeling welled up inside him.
He quickly said, "It's alright, it's alright, you can cover it up, feel free to cover it up, just tell me before you do, because some problem children can't be covered up easily..."
"Problem child?" Lappland turned around immediately upon hearing Lin Ye's words, glaring at him. "Who are you talking about?"
Lin Ye ignored Lappland and explained things to Skadi first before sitting down opposite her.
"Um... that was my mistake just now." Lin Ye coughed twice, feeling that it was strange to explain to Lappland. "I misunderstood you."
"It's good to know!"
Lappland crossed her arms, folded her legs, and held her tail up.
"Then could you..."
“It’s alright.” Lappland waved her hand, appearing very magnanimous. “I forgive you.”
"Uh, I don't care whether you forgive me or not, but could you give me that agreement from earlier? I'll go find Zilan and get a new one that hasn't been stamped."
Lappland's eyes widened: "Say that again!"
Lin Ye then repeated it.
"You quack!" Lappland was truly enraged—no, she was enraged once again. Lin Ye noticed the fur on her tail was standing on end. "It's already been stamped, why are you still trying to take it away?!"
Lin Ye felt a real headache coming on. He didn't know how to explain it to Lappland, but not explaining seemed like a bad idea either, so he could only bite the bullet and briefly explain to her. He didn't mention that he was in charge of evaluating her, but rather said that according to regulations, the agreement should only be stamped a month later, and stamping it earlier would be a violation.
After listening to Lin Ye's explanation, Lappland tilted her head: "It can only be stamped a month later?"
“Yes.” Lin Ye nodded repeatedly.
"Is this the same stamp?"
"Yes."
“Then I’ll just leave it here.” Lappland put the agreement in her pocket. “I’ll hand it over in a month, and then I can tell Zilan that you built it for me within the stipulated time, right?”
Lin Ye's lips twitched slightly.
Lapland's intelligence truly does fluctuate, but he is always very shrewd in crucial situations.
"This won't work," Lin Ye said tactfully, "because I need to observe them for the next month..."
"Observe what?"
"Well..."
Lappland, however, seemed to realize something and muttered, "Wait, this is a psychological counseling room. You said you're a quack in psychology..."
Could you please remove the word "mediocre"...?
Lappland understood, and became furious again: "Are you trying to see if there's something wrong with my brain?!"
You still found out...
Of course, Lin Ye would never admit it, and decisively shook his head: "How could that be? How could there be something wrong with your brain? You're clearly so smart!"
“Exactly.” Lappland’s anger dissipated, and she wagged her tail. “How could there be something wrong with my brain?”
Seeing Lappland's seemingly changing emotions, Lin Ye decided to outsmart her. After thinking for a while, he took out the milk biscuits he had just received from Jessica: "Lappland, want some biscuits? Milk flavored."
Lappland twitched her nose, then leaned closer: "Okay, okay."
"Hey, I'll give you the cookies, how about you give me that agreement in return?" Lin Ye coaxed gently.
"Mmm-hmm." Lappland nodded repeatedly, then handed over the agreement. Halfway through, she suddenly realized what she was doing, pulled it back, and glared at Lin Ye. "Do you think I'm stupid?!"
Pshaw, have we been found out?
Lin Ye remained expressionless, but another plan formed in his mind.
"Fine, I don't need you to get a new one. Just sign it already," Lin Ye said. "But we can make a deal. You give me the agreement, and I'll evaluate you. A month later, if there are no problems, I'll return the agreement to you, and that stamp will be on your name."
Lappland retorted without hesitation: "You're dreaming."
"Don't rush to refuse, I already said it's a deal," Lin Ye said. "In return, how about I teach you how to get close to Texas?"
Lappland's eyes suddenly lit up.
The author's rant: I'd also like to recommend another book, *The Ark of Persistence*.
Synopsis: "I was so stupid, really. I only knew that using the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception to heal was a misuse, but I didn't know that even healing an illness would provoke you all."
Erin raised her lifeless eyes and looked at the group of girls with ulterior motives. "I have no other hope in this life. I just want to date more beast-eared girls."
"Cheer up, doctor," is that something a doctor should say?
"I feel ashamed, but I only want to do this kind of small work."
Chapter 214 Mephistopheles' New Plans
Ten minutes later, Lappland left Lin Ye's office happily, still holding the two boxes of cookies Lin Ye had given her.
Lin Ye could only look at the internship agreement that Lappland had left him with a rather painful feeling.
Skadi walked up to him and asked softly, "Is this something important?"
