And so, with his head full of foam and his face ashen, he sat in front of the mirror, watching the Guardian agents working hard behind him. After a chaotic scene, all the women in the shop, including the Felin girl who had just rubbed Lin Ye's hair, and the naked men who had been chased out of the back room, were handcuffed and made to squat against the wall.

Lin Ye was the only one sitting present, though he wasn't sitting comfortably, as three or four burly Guard Bureau agents were standing beside him, watching him. He didn't know what to do. If he told these people he was there to get a haircut, not to do anything lewd, would they believe him?

They'll probably believe it, since he's sitting right here.

But what if they don't believe me? What if they say I got my hair cut first and then got the perm, or that I got the perm first and then got my hair cut? Damn it, can the boss lady come out and be my witness? Otherwise, you're ignoring me just because I didn't want to get my hair permed and dyed!

Lin Ye felt like his butt was going to go numb from sitting so long.

Just then, a familiar voice came from outside the door: "Team One, are you done yet?"

"Captain Chen." The Guards operators straightened up. "There's still one person whose identity we can't determine."

"Huh? What do you mean you can't judge?" The voice was getting closer.

"Because this person looks like they're here for a haircut."

"A haircut? You son of a bitch, do you think I'm stupid?" The door opened, and Lin Ye saw Officer Chen walk in through the mirror, still talking, "Who would come to a place like this to get a haircut?"

Then, the two looked into each other's eyes through the mirror.

After a brief moment of stunned silence, Chen blurted out, "Fuck your mother, Lin Ye? What are you doing here, soliciting prostitutes too?"

Lin Ye: "..."

Thirty seconds later, Chen became one of the Guard Bureau agents standing next to Lin Ye.

Chen looked at Lin Ye, who was visibly embarrassed, with a half-smile: "As expected of you, Dr. Lin Ye, you always manage to appear in some interesting places."

Lin Ye's lips twitched slightly: "I just came to get a haircut."

"Who knows?"

"Really!" Lin Ye said. "Look at me, I'm sitting here so calmly, it's obvious I'm here for a haircut."

"Then why did you come to a lewd place to get a haircut?"

"How the hell was I supposed to know this was a brothel?" Lin Ye was getting annoyed by the stares from the crowd. "They didn't put a sign on the door. If they had said it was a brothel, why would I have come in?"

"You seem to be making me laugh." Chen patted Lin Ye on the shoulder. "No, you really are making me laugh."

While Lin Ye and Chen were talking, several Guard Bureau agents seemed to recognize Lin Ye and then whispered among themselves.

"This man seems to know Inspector Chen."

"It's obvious we know each other. Isn't he the same guy from a year ago?"

"Which one year ago?"

"Inspector Chen's ex-boyfriend!"

Chen's smile gradually disappeared, and she suddenly tightened her grip on Lin Ye's shoulder, causing Lin Ye to wince in pain.

“If you spread rumors about me again, I’ll lock you all up in jail.” Chen turned her head and looked coldly at her subordinates. “Don’t doubt it, I really will do it.”

All the Royal Guard agents fell silent.

"What are you all standing there for?" Chen said irritably. "Take these people away. Is it interesting to see them squatting here?"

The agents nodded repeatedly, then swiftly led everyone away. In less than half a minute, only Lin Ye and Chen remained in the shop. Lin Ye looked up at Chen, somewhat embarrassed, and asked, "You're not going to take me to the police station too, are you?"

Chen pursed his lips: "What do you think?"

“I didn’t do anything pornographic. Taking me to the police station won’t do any good,” Lin Ye argued. “You can’t slander someone’s innocence out of thin air.”

"If I told my girlfriend that you got your hair done at a brothel, what do you think she would do?"

"You dare!" Lin Ye glared at Chen, then realized something was wrong. "Wait, where did I get a girlfriend?"

“Swire said it,” Chen said with a smile. “She said you went to the beach to fight deep-sea monsters in order to find a girlfriend. Tsk tsk tsk, how come I didn’t realize you were so brave before?”

Lin Ye: "..."

"Alright, stop making that face. How could I possibly take you to the police station?" Chen said. "You saved a lot of our people a while ago, and Swire too. The Guard Bureau will remember that. Of course, that doesn't mean I'll condone you breaking Lungmen's laws. If my men really dragged you out of the back room today, then I'll have no choice but to take you to the police station."

"I never went into the inner room!"

"Alright, alright, I understand," Chen said. "We won't make things difficult for innocent citizens. You can go now."

Looking at himself in the mirror with his head full of foam, Lin Ye was unsure what to do.

"Hmm? Why aren't you leaving yet?" Chen looked at Lin Ye with some doubt. "Don't tell me you really want to experience the services in the back room?"

"How could that be?" Lin Ye said irritably. "Look at me now, how am I supposed to leave? Honestly, couldn't your Guard Bureau have come a little later for the prostitution raid? Couldn't you have waited until I finished my haircut?"

"Look at you, so capable, pushing your luck?" Chen raised an eyebrow. "Do we need you to interfere with the operations of our Guard Bureau?"

Seeing that Chen wouldn't arrest him, Lin Ye wasn't as worried as before, so his tone became much more unrestrained: "But you guys really did interfere with my haircut. I just came to get a haircut, but I encountered such a big scene. It seems that your Guard Bureau is indeed my natural nemesis."

Chen snorted: "Is it necessary? It's just a haircut. You're making it sound like you've suffered a great injustice."

"I've already paid, can't I even complain a little? Oh, and could you ask the shop owner to refund my money...?"

“No need, it’s just a haircut,” Chen suddenly raised his hand and rolled up his sleeve. “Let me do it.”

Lin Ye: "?"

Before Lin Ye could react, Chen had already raised his hand, grabbed Lin Ye's head, and pressed it down.

Chapter 419 My Crimson Sky Has Been Having Some Problems Lately (3K)

Twenty minutes later, Lin Ye looked at his utterly dejected self in the mirror and at Chen's rather smug expression, utterly at a loss for words. However, Chen didn't see anything wrong. She put down the scissors, looked at Lin Ye's new hairstyle, and thought it was perfect. Aside from not being shaved quite evenly, with a patch missing here and an extra patch there, it was practically indistinguishable from a skilled hairdresser's work.

"How was it?" Chen clapped his hands and said with a smile, "My skill level is pretty good, right?"

Lin Ye's lips twitched, and the words that had been stuck in his heart for a long time finally burst out: "Inspector Chen, you really are a treasure girl."

"A treasure girl?" Chen frowned. "What do you mean by that? Are you praising me or insulting me?"

"What do you think?"

"The literal meaning sounds like a compliment," Chen pondered. "But the tone just doesn't feel quite right... Hey, stop playing riddles, can't you just... chuckle."

Chen couldn't help but laugh.

"Okay, okay, the cut is indeed not very satisfactory."

"You can still tell that it's not satisfactory?"

“Of course,” Chen said. “My aesthetic sense is not flawed.”

Lin Ye immediately flew into a rage: "Then why the hell did you cut it like that! You did it on purpose, didn't you?!"

“How could it be intentional? You can question my skills, but you absolutely cannot question my character,” Chen said. “I really did a very serious job cutting it. I usually cut my own hair. When it gets long, I only need to cut it once. You men’s hair is such a hassle. It’s not long to begin with, but you still have to cut it. So I can only cut it like this.”

Lin Ye felt that Chen's ability to portray the perpetrator as the victim was a waste of her talent; being a lawyer would have been a much more suitable profession for her.

"So if you can't cut it, then don't cut it." Lin Ye sighed. "How am I supposed to go back and face people with this haircut? You might as well just shave my head bald; that would make me stronger."

"Why would shaving your head make you stronger? Tsk, your thought process is definitely beyond what most people can follow." Chen patted Lin Ye's shoulder, then put the Crimson Cloud Sword that he had just taken off and placed aside back on his waist. "Alright, don't look so miserable. I'll find someone who knows how to cut hair to give you a trim and a shave."

Lin Ye said irritably, "It's already cut like this, how can it be fixed? And where are you going to find someone at a time like this?"

Chen said, "Don't underestimate people."

As she spoke, she walked outside the shop and shouted, "Hey, find someone with good skills to come in and get a haircut!"

Lin Ye almost bit his own tongue.

"Hey, are you stupid? When I said find someone with good skills, I meant hairdressing skills, nothing else! What, you're saying she's the best hairdresser? Don't try to fool me, with breasts that big, how can she cut hair?"

Chen had just said she couldn't understand Lin Ye's thought process, but how could Lin Ye possibly understand Chen's? To openly utter such exciting…and shameful things in the street—Lin Ye had absolutely no idea how she managed it. But regardless, Chen still brought Lin Ye back a hairdresser. Before he could even see if the hairdresser was really as imposing as Chen described, Chen tapped Lin Ye on the head.

"The barber has found it for you. Close your eyes and don't look around."

Lin Ye was furious. He thought to himself, "You think I'll just ignore you? Wouldn't that make me lose face? Who do you think you are, a policeman?"

Oh, she really is a police officer. Maybe we shouldn't watch it then.

Lin Ye obediently closed his eyes. Finally experiencing a normal haircut service, when he opened his eyes again, he found that although his hairstyle was still terrible, it was barely acceptable. After all, Chen had dug such a big hole, and this barber was able to fill it back in, truly deserving of the title "skilled."

"Alright, you can go now." Chen let the barber leave. "Go tell Captain Yi that your fine will be reduced by half."

Lin Ye turned to look at Chen: "Isn't this a bit inappropriate?"

"What's wrong with it? In the end, it's all for the public good." Chen pursed his lips. "Is that alright? Come with me if you're ready."

Lin Ye was startled: "Why do I have to go to the police station with you? I haven't broken any laws, have I?"

"Who said I was asking you to come with me to the police station? Seriously, do you really want to go to jail?" Chen said irritably. "I asked you to come with me for a late-night snack. Anyway, I've caused you trouble tonight. Let's go, it's on me."

And just like that, Lin Ye was inexplicably dragged by Chen Cong from the scene of the raid on prostitution to have a late-night snack. When they left the scene, the Guardian agents present all gave Lin Ye a meaningful smile, which made Lin Ye's scalp tingle. He felt like someone who had gone out to seek pleasure and was caught by his wife, his face full of embarrassment. But in reality, he hadn't done anything; he had just gone out to get a haircut.

“I really don’t know why you would come to a place like this,” Chen said. “This street is chaotic, and the food is not clean. More than 90% of the shops do not have a health permit.”

Lin Ye said, "Isn't it normal for street food vendors to not have health permits?"

"Who said that? The store I took you to last time had one."

Lin Ye's lips twitched: "So we're going to that restaurant again? Is it really necessary? I remember it's quite far. We can just grab something nearby."

"No, it's another store," Chen said. "Although it's a bit far, it's okay, I drove."

Since Chen had already said so much, Lin Ye couldn't say anything more. Originally, he wanted to get rid of Chen as soon as possible and return to the hotel, because he always felt that nothing good would happen if he stayed with Chen, after all, he was a cop.

Wait, why is he afraid of the cops?

Lin Ye fell into deep thought.

Then, Chen led Lin Ye to the parking area. Lin Ye thought he would get to experience riding in a sports car again, but to his surprise, the two of them stopped in front of a small electric scooter.

Lin Ye looked at Chen, who was searching for his keys, and couldn't help but twitch his lips: "Is this your car?"

"Yes."

"Don't you drive a sports car?"

“Where would I get the money to drive a sports car? The last car I drove was a char siu cat.” Chen found the keys and started her electric scooter. “We are proper public servants, we don’t have much money to begin with, and I was suddenly called out. I should be watching a movie at the cinema right now… Hey, what are you standing there for? Get on.”

Lin Ye: "..."
