Lin Ye felt that things were getting out of control. If the Bull Demon King in the kitchen knew that he had stuffed a bunch of pet supplies into the hands of their Sherag Saintess, would he hang him on the grill?

No, use your brain!

Survival instinct! Get moving!

Chu Xue looked at Lin Ye's constipated expression and asked curiously, "Doctor?"

doctor?

Oh right, I'm a doctor!

Lin Ye immediately became serious after thinking about it: "If it's shedding, using conditioner alone won't be enough."

"what?"

You need to take better care of yourself.

How to maintain it?

“It’s very simple,” Lin Ye said. “Touch as little as possible, and it’s best not to let strangers touch you.”

Chu Xue asked, puzzled, "Why?"

“Think about it, if you touch it and I touch it, some hair will fall out every time we touch it, and over time…” Lin Ye said slowly, “you’ll go bald.”

Chu Xue's expression immediately changed.

……

Ten minutes later, Horn Peak came out of the kitchen.

"The food is ready... uh, where is Miss?" Horn Peak only saw Lin Ye standing in the living room.

“I’ve convinced your young lady,” Lin Ye said. “She has understood the significance of Saintess Sherag and has said she will never let anyone catch her doing anything wrong again. She has now gone back to reflect on her mistakes.”

Horn Peak looked surprised: "R-really?"

“Of course, you can ask her yourself.” Lin Ye walked to the door. “Since that’s the case, my task is complete, so I won’t bother you any longer.”

"Huh? Why? The food is all ready, Dr. Lin Ye. I haven't properly thanked you yet."

"No, no, no need." Lin Ye put on her shoes, opened the door and ran. "I have to go back and have pineapple buns with Nightingale. I promised her. Goodbye."

Soon, only Horn Peak remained in the room.

Horn Peak stood in the living room for a long time, lost in thought.

As expected of Doctor Lin Ye, he is exceptionally capable and selfless, a person as admirable as the master!

Horn Peak was deeply moved.

Chapter Ninety-Two: The Second Rescue?

Lin Ye finally breathed a sigh of relief after running out of the dormitory building.

Although he believed he had done a good job fulfilling Cliffheart's request, the process might not have gone as Cliffheart had imagined. Furthermore, his warning about his bald tail seemed to have frightened Frostleaf; she didn't even intend to eat, and hurriedly went back to her room with conditioner and catnip. Who knows if she'll ever discover the truth…

Wait, why do I say he discovered the truth? He didn't lie. Touching a furry area too much can indeed cause it to go bald. If it doesn't go bald, it just means he hasn't touched it enough. So he definitely didn't deceive Chuxue. He was just telling her how to take care of the fur on her tail from a doctor's perspective.

Yes, that's it, there's no mistake.

Lin Ye comforted himself.

After running out of the dormitory building, Lin Ye realized he was a little hungry.

He hadn't eaten much at lunch, and he'd skipped the dinner Horn had offered, so his stomach was empty. And now it was an awkward time; dinner service at the cafeteria had ended, but it was still a little while before supper. Lin Ye didn't know where to go.

Or should I go back to the dorm and eat some cat and dog food to tide me over? But I still have to practice swordsmanship tonight, and cat and dog food are just not enough.

As Lin Ye was thinking this, a familiar female voice sounded behind him.

"Dr. Lin Ye."

Lin Ye turned his head and saw a woman dressed in a black robe emerge from the shadows.

"The Shining?"

The Shining is back.

This meant Lin Ye couldn't return to his dorm, and Shining seemed to have something to say to him.

“Let’s go to my room,” Shining said.

Lin Ye couldn't help but recall his first day on Rhodes Island, and immediately shook his head: "Let's go to the cafeteria instead."

So the two of them went to the cafeteria to wait for the late-night snack time.

Inside the cafeteria, Lin Ye looked at Shan Ling sitting opposite him and asked, "Did you come back tonight?"

“To be precise, it should have been in the afternoon,” Shining said. “But I went to hand over my work with Nearl, so I didn’t come to find you right away.”

Lin Ye smiled and said, "Why did you come to find me so soon? You're being too polite."

"Because I thought Liz was with you, I was going to find her."

Lin Ye's smile froze.

Shining removed her hood, revealing her flawless face: "But I didn't expect Liz to be waiting for me."

Lin Ye was somewhat surprised: "Liz was waiting for you?"

“Yes.” Shining smiled faintly. “Liz learned from Fleur that I would be back today, so she waited for me at the sanatorium. To be honest, I never expected this, because when I left, Liz’s attitude towards me was only slightly better than that of a stranger, but now… thanks to you, Dr. Lin Ye, I feel more and more that inviting you to Rhodes Island was such a wise decision.”

Only now did Lin Ye understand why Nightingale hadn't insisted on going to the Horn Peak Banquet with him that night.

It turns out she knew all along that Shining would come back, so she was waiting.

Lin Ye smiled and said, "Nightingale is indeed getting better every day. She's not afraid of strangers anymore, and she treats Furong and Yanrong like family, although she still can't remember their names."

“So it’s all thanks to you,” Shining said. “Nearlight is actually very happy to see Liz like this. It’s just that she didn’t dare to approach Liz because she had objected before.”

"Uh, why is that?"

“She probably thinks that if she had succeeded in stopping you, Liz would still be lying in the observation room right now,” Shining said softly. “She feels guilty because she almost harmed Liz.”

“There’s no need for that. In that situation, no normal person would have believed me,” Lin Ye said. “I’m not saying you’re not normal. What I mean is, even I wasn’t confident I could help Nightingale.”

Shining said, "Actually, you're right. I'm not a normal person. And my expectations of you weren't actually that high back then. I just didn't want to see Liz suffer anymore."

Lin Ye thought of Shining's attitude that day. If he hadn't succeeded, Shining would most likely have "released" Nightingale on the spot.

As expected of a swordsman of the demon race, he ultimately managed to help Nightingale.

"Anyway, it's all in the past now," Lin Ye said. "Should I go and talk to Lin Guang?"

"You're going to tell them?" Shining asked, somewhat surprised.

"Well, after all, I'm a certified psychologist now," Lin Ye said with a smile. "This should be my job, right?"

The Shining smiled too.

“Perhaps, but I don’t think Nearl needs it,” Shining said, shaking her head. “You should know her title.”

"Radiant Knight?"

“Yes, the Radiant Knight. How could someone with such a title be weak-willed? She just needs some time,” Shining said. “Whether it’s you or Liz, she said she still owes you an apology, or rather, a favor, which she will repay in person one day.”

Lin Ye scratched his head: "I feel like the topic has become much more serious."

“Yes, actually I also want to talk about something lighter at times like this,” Shining said. “Especially after seeing Liz like this, I’m genuinely happy. But, I received a message from Kal'tsit.”

"Kal'tsit's message?"

“Yes,” Shining said slowly, “it’s about your new ability, and everything about you in Liz’s dream.”

Lin Ye had guessed that Shining would say this, and said with a sense of remorse, "I'm sorry, my recklessness almost hurt Nightingale."

Shining shook his head: "If there is only one person in this world who doesn't need to apologize to Liz, then that person is you. You saved her."

"That's an exaggeration."

“I’m not exaggerating,” Shining said. “At least that’s what I think.”

Lin Ye felt a little embarrassed by what Shining said, so he coughed twice and changed the subject: "So do you know what my ability is all about? Because even I'm still completely clueless about it."

“If even Kal’tsit doesn’t know, then there’s even less reason for me to know,” Shining said. “I have indeed witnessed some amazing abilities in my life, but I have never heard of anyone invading dreams like you.”

"Is that so?" Lin Ye was somewhat disappointed.

"Yes, but don't be discouraged, you'll figure it out eventually," Shining said softly. "Right now, I'm more concerned about Liz. I thought that as long as you were by her side, her condition would improve. But now I realize I was wrong. I thought I had pulled Liz out of that bloody, desperate hell, but I never imagined that she would still be trapped in it all these years." As she spoke, Shining looked up into Lin Ye's eyes and said, word by word, "The reason I came to see you tonight, Dr. Lin Ye, is that I hope you can save Nightingale, for the second time."

Author's note: I highly recommend Shuangshu's Sekiro fanfiction, "The Sword Saint's Journey Starting from Sekiro," which is currently the most successful Sekiro fanfiction. Those interested can check it out.

Another question: Who do you think will be the female lead in this book? Unlike the previous brothel book, I haven't decided on a female lead yet. I don't think anyone is suitable. What do you think?

Chapter Ninety-Three: The Choice?

A second rescue of the nightingale?

Lin Ye was silent for a moment, then asked, "Do you want me to use my ability on Nightingale?"

"Yes."

Shining nodded.

“But I still don’t know exactly what my abilities are capable of,” Lin Ye said. “Even Kal’tsit doesn’t know.”

"If you don't know, should you not try?"

Lin Ye smiled wryly: "Then what do you want me to do?"

“Bring Liz out of the hell that has been haunting her,” Shining said. “In the spiritual realm.”

Lin Ye looked at Shining: "Do you think this will cure Liz's illness?"

“I don’t know.” Shining shook her head. “I just don’t want to see her stuck in the pain of the past, even though she’s already left there.”

“…I understand you,” Lin Ye said. “Actually, when I saw Nightingale’s dream, I also felt quite bad, and I really wanted to heal her. But I’m not sure if my ability will cause Nightingale more harm, because when I used my ability on Nightingale last time, it brought her a very obvious mental burden.”

"Every power comes at a price."

“But she shouldn’t have to bear the consequences,” Lin Ye said. “Nightingale’s mental state has finally stabilized a bit; there’s no need for us to be in such a hurry.”

The Shining fell silent.
