How did you know my name is Liz?
Lin Ye felt this conversation sounded familiar, but he still didn't know how to answer the question, so he could only pretend not to hear and continue running. A few seconds later, Liz asked again, "Were you sent by the other side?"
"No."
"Then why did you attack my own kind?"
Lin Ye did not answer.
"Would you do the same to me...?"
Lin Ye, unable to bear it any longer, said: "Shut up! Let me take you out of here first!"
Liz was startled by Lin Ye's fierce appearance and could only obediently shut her mouth.
But before the silence lasted even a minute, he asked again, "Where are you taking me?"
Lin Ye's lips twitched slightly, thinking to himself, "Why was this unlucky kid so deserving of a beating when he was little?"
Soon, the angry voice of the Sarkaz warrior rang out again from behind: "Damn it! Mad has been attacked! The medics have been taken away! Enemy spies have infiltrated!"
They were discovered after all.
Lin Ye had only run less than a hundred meters with Liz. At the speed of a Sarkaz samurai, they could catch up with him in less than a minute. So he couldn't keep running. Lin Ye stopped, looked around, and tried to find a place to hide, like the small cave he had in before.
But no, there were only prison cells and half-dead prisoners inside.
However, Lin Ye saw a large water tank, and after thinking for a moment, he still picked up Liz and ran over to it.
"This is..." Upon seeing the water vat, Liz's expression changed slightly. Just as she was about to speak, Lin Ye lifted the lid of the water vat and pushed Liz inside.
"Don't speak, I'm saving you!" he said, and started to rummage inside himself.
Just as he shoved his entire body into the water tank, he heard the footsteps and angry roars of the Sarkaz warriors.
"There must still be enemy spies inside!"
"Find him and skin him alive!"
Lin Ye shuddered and immediately squatted down into the water tank, putting the lid over his head as he did so.
At that moment, a foul stench entered his nostrils, almost making Lin Ye vomit.
What the hell is this water tank?!
This is a manure bucket!
Lin Ye was already eager to climb out and fight the Sarkaz warriors for three hundred rounds.
However, Lin Ye quickly dismissed the thought, because the latrine bucket was empty, with only some damp, unidentified liquid on the sides, which was perfectly acceptable. Moreover, it must be said that a latrine bucket was a much better disguise than a water tank. So Lin Ye held Liz in his arms and gently said to her, "It's okay, we can avoid them."
Liz looked up at the smudges on Lin Ye's face and almost cried.
Who exactly is he?!
Why are you torturing me like this?!
Seeing that Liz was silent, Lin Ye assumed that his talent had worked again, so he nodded in satisfaction and pondered his next move.
If we get caught, then there's nothing more to say, game over.
But what if you manage to get away without being discovered?
Previously, he had actually evaded the Sarkaz warriors' initial pursuit, only to be tracked down by the scent of the wounded fellow. But this time, that guy was dead and couldn't possibly come out to deliver another blow. Therefore, the choice he made next was crucial.
Which way should we go?
Lin Ye pondered, while listening to the conversation of the Sarkaz warriors outside the corridor.
"We can't find him; he must have left through the secret passage."
"They already know where our secret passage is?! Damn it!"
"Complaining is useless now. You stay here to take care of the centurion, we'll go into the secret passage and chase after him!"
"Okay, I'll leave it to you."
Then came a flurry of footsteps, which slowly faded away.
This conversation delighted Lin Ye.
There was a secret passage all along.
However, that won't be necessary this time. Judging from the sounds, only one Sarkaz warrior remains. If there's only one, the chances of escape increase significantly. Of course, the chances are still slim, since even one Sarkaz warrior is beyond his current capabilities, unless the opponent walks right up to him without warning and stands still, allowing him to attack.
But how could that be? The other party isn't stupid.
Just as he was thinking this, the lid on his head was suddenly lifted.
Lin Ye was shocked and suddenly looked up.
A Sarkaz warrior was found standing in front of a latrine bucket, unzipping his pants.
The two stared at each other for less than a second.
Lin Ye grabbed an iron rod and stabbed it.
"Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh!"
The Sarkaz warriors' anguished roars echoed through the prison.
Chapter Ninety-Seven: Crushed to Death (Twenty-Five Chapters Owed)
Lin Ye climbed out of the latrine bucket.
The Sarkaz warrior who had been knocked down by Lin Ye was clutching his lower body, convulsing and emitting painful and desperate cries. Fortunately, the other Sarkaz warriors had already gone far away, otherwise they would have been attracted back by the sound. But just in case, Lin Ye still dug a hard black stone out of the latrine bucket and stuffed it into the Sarkaz warrior's mouth.
The Sarkaz warriors could only make whimpering noises.
Lin Ye then took Liz out with a sigh of relief and reassured her, "Don't worry, we've already escaped these demons."
Liz glanced at Lin Ye, then at the Sarkaz warrior struggling on the ground, shuddered, and dared not speak further.
Lin Ye bent down and pulled the iron rod out of the Sarkaz warrior's body.
Red and brown liquids sprayed out, and the Sarkaz warrior's expression became even more ferocious.
As if he hadn't noticed the Sarkaz samurai's expression, Lin Ye expertly shook the filthy liquid off the stick.
Surprisingly, he managed to take down a second Sarkaz samurai. Lin Ye felt he still possessed some skill; after all, his swordsmanship teacher, Yato, could only handle one Sarkaz samurai in a one-on-one fight, while he had killed two in a single exchange. Although the methods were somewhat despicable, they were ultimately for the purpose of saving lives.
Lin Ye held the iron rod in one hand and took Liz's hand with the other: "Let's go, we can go out now."
Liz was so stunned she could barely move; she had never seen such a terrifying man.
People say that the Sarkaz are demons, but Liz now thinks Lin Ye is the real demon. After seeing the fate of her compatriots, she doesn't dare to walk with Lin Ye at all.
Seeing that he couldn't pull Liz up, Lin Ye looked back at her with some confusion, and then he understood.
Liz is so thin and frightened; she must have exhausted all her remaining strength. Since that's the case, we should help her more. Thinking this, Lin Ye squatted down again and hoisted Liz onto his shoulder.
"Don't worry, even if I have to carry you on my back, I'll carry you out of here," Lin Ye said with a smile.
Liz: "..."
Lin Ye carried Liz out of the small room with the latrine bucket. Once in the corridor, he felt uneasy again. He glanced back at the Sarkaz warrior still convulsing on the floor and understood the source of his unease. So he turned back and stood beside the Sarkaz warrior.
“Brother, although I have no grudge against you, but…” Lin Ye slowly raised the iron rod, “I must help this poor child end her nightmare, so I’m sorry.”
Then, he slammed the iron rod down, piercing the Sarkaz warrior's armor.
With a crisp sound, Lin Ye's rusty iron rod failed to pierce the armor.
Lin Ye frowned and tried a second time, but with the same result. Having no other option, he turned his attention to the unarmored areas of the Sarkaz warriors.
Even the strongest man has a soft side.
To help Liz escape her nightmare, Lin Ye could only deliver eight more stabs to the Sarkaz warrior's most vulnerable spot.
Liz watched helplessly as Lin Ye raised the iron rod high, pointing it at her kin.
One cut, another cut, and yet another.
A minute later, after confirming that the Sarkaz warrior was no longer capable of causing him trouble, Lin Ye nodded with satisfaction, carrying the ashen-faced Liz away, and returned to the hall. In the hall, the Sarkaz centurion was still lying on a stretcher, his body mangled and bloody, his fate unknown.
Lin Ye glanced at him twice and then ignored him.
So where should we go next?
Lin Ye hesitated, unsure whether to retrace his steps. Although he felt the path he came from was very likely the way to the surface, it was certainly a main road, and there would be no shortage of demons passing through. And now that Lin Ye was out of stealth mode, and with Liz in tow, encountering Sarkaz would definitely mean certain death.
If only we could find the secret passage those Sarkaz people mentioned.
Even if we find it, we definitely won't be able to use it this time, because those Sarkaz people went to the secret passage to find him before.
It seemed that they had no choice but to turn back. Lin Ye knew that the chances of getting Liz out this time were slim, so he could only do his best and see how far they could end up.
Taking a deep breath, Lin Ye said to Liz, "I don't know if I can get you out of here this time, but even if I fail, I'll come back again... I guess so."
Liz's face turned even paler.
Lin Ye had no idea what Liz was thinking. He was fully prepared to deal with whatever might happen in the passage, and then he walked towards the passage.
But a second before entering the passage, he couldn't move.
Because his leg was grabbed.
Lin Ye looked down and saw that the Sarkaz centurion had left the stretcher at some point, crawled to his side, and grabbed his leg.
The Sarkaz centurion was a much stronger and larger figure than an ordinary Sarkaz warrior. Lin Ye had initially thought he was dead, but he was wrong. Although the Sarkaz centurion was on the verge of death, he was not yet dead.
"The enemy," the Sarkaz centurion, his body a bloody mess, uttered in a deep, hoarse voice, "deserve to die!"
Lin Ye immediately grabbed an iron rod and stabbed it at the Sarkaz centurion's head.
The Sarkaz centurion raised his other hand and grabbed Lin Ye's iron rod.
With a crisp crack, the iron rod was crushed by the Sarkaz centurion.
What kind of brute force is that?!
Then, the Sarkaz centurion leaped up and grabbed Lin Ye's head with his large hand.
"Go to hell."
The Sarkaz centurion unleashed his power.
