Liz was still crying silently, but she only shed tears, letting the whip fall on her body without making a sound. She seemed a little stubborn, like a different person.
Yes, it's like a completely different person.
No, that's not right.
Will I have the courage like that woman?
You are clearly one person!
Thinking of this, Lin Ye's mind suddenly cleared up a lot. He struggled to lift his head, squeezed out the last of his strength, and roared at the crying Liz.
“Wake up, Liz!” he roared. “The nightmare is over! The dungeon is gone! You’re out! You’re right here on Rhodes Island!”
Liz held her head in her hands, slowly raising it, her eyes, filled with tears, brimming with pain and confusion.
"The nightmare is over." Lin Ye's voice was much lower; he wasn't sure if Liz could hear him. "You should wake up, Liz, no, Nightingale. What are you still struggling for here for?"
Then, gathering his strength once more, he roared out with all his might.
"You guys! You're clearly the same person! Wake up right now! I'm taking you to get some pineapple buns!"
Liz opened her mouth slightly.
Lin Ye didn't know if it would work.
The Sarkaz warrior named Mad returned to his side with the instruments of torture.
"What are you babbling about?" Ma De sneered. "I'll skin you alive."
Lin Ye remained silent.
He had reached his limit; everything before him was about to be swallowed by darkness. All he could do was reach out as far as he could, grabbing at Liz.
Despite the great distance between them.
I've done my best.
Lin Ye thought to himself.
This is your own dream.
Liz, it's time for you to wake up.
You are clearly the strongest person, much stronger than me. No one can defeat you except yourself.
……
In the last second before losing consciousness, Lin Ye heard a very soft sound.
"Pineapple Bun."
Then, the darkness that was about to engulf everything receded like a tide.
Liz was still lying in a pool of blood, but she kept repeating three words.
"Pineapple bun... pineapple bun... pineapple bun."
The Sarkaz warrior Mad frowned: "What the hell is that?"
The other Sarkaz warriors jeered, "Hurry up and do it, damn it!"
"Here it comes, don't rush me." Ma De impatiently picked up the torture instruments. "Watch me... uh."
Ma De's body stopped moving.
"Hey, Mad, what are you doing?" the Sarkaz warrior teased. "Can't bring yourself to do it to that guy?"
Ma De did not respond, nor could he respond any further.
Because the next second, his body slowly shattered, and blood fell like a torrential rain.
The Sarkaz warriors were stunned.
The guy who was about to be killed by them was slowly getting up from Ma De's corpse, holding a black steel sword that he had pulled out from somewhere.
Lin Ye was panting heavily.
The lost power and spirit are rapidly returning to his body, even stronger than in reality.
He gripped the black steel sword in his hand, looked at the dozens of Sarkaz warriors in front of him, and suddenly felt that they were nothing, as if nothing could stop him.
Of course, he knew why.
Lin Ye looked at Liz, who was curled up on the ground crying, and gripped the sword in his hand tightly.
He was an ordinary person, and he knew this a long time ago. He wouldn't become Ultraman, nor could he save the world, and he had a lot of bad habits.
But so what?
In the stubborn heart of that simple girl.
He is invincible.

Chapters 134 Welcome Back, Liz
Lin Ye had never felt his body was so powerful before.
Those Sarkaz samurai, whose individual combat strength was no less than that of Yato, were utterly helpless against him now. No matter how many charged at him, Lin Ye could cut them down. At first, he focused on using the sword techniques Yato had taught him, but later he just hacked and slashed randomly, because the Sarkaz samurai simply couldn't defeat him.
Even the strongest centurion couldn't last three rounds against Lin Ye, who cleaved him in two, armor and all. It felt like using a cheat code to unleash a rampage in an RPG game; soon, piles of corpses lay around Lin Ye.
He originally planned to fight his way out with Liz, but he soon realized something was wrong.
Although he was invincible and had dealt with many Sarkaz warriors, the number of enemies did not decrease. He discovered that every time he slashed at a Sarkaz warrior, two more would surge into the plaza from the tunnels, rushing towards him like moths to a flame.
No, no, why is this happening?
As Lin Ye swung his sword, he retreated towards Liz, shouting, "Liz, do you remember now?"
When Liz shouted "Pineapple Bun," which greatly enhanced his strength, Lin Ye assumed that Liz's two personalities had merged into one. However, when he stepped back to Liz's side, he realized that this was not the case. Liz was still crying with her head in her hands, and apart from constantly shouting "Pineapple Bun," Lin Ye did not see any trace of Nightingale in her.
What's going on here?
His power has already increased to this level, so why... could it be...?
Lin Ye thought of a possibility.
Liz possesses two distinct memories and two personalities. The outward personality is Nightingale, who believes Lin Ye, the weakling, is the best in the world, while the inward personality is a timid little girl who believes she will never leave the dungeon. Originally, these two personalities were clearly separated by reality and dreams. The outward personality was unaware of the environment in which the inward personality lived, and the inward personality was unaware of the outward personality's existence.
But just now, all of this was shattered. The inner personality wanted to maintain the operating principle that "no matter what, one cannot leave this place," but the outer personality infiltrated, attaching her cognitive power to Lin Ye. Simply put, the endless stream of Sarkaz warriors was the power the inner personality used to maintain the operating principle, while Lin Ye's cutting down of these warriors one by one was using the cognitive power of the outer personality.
In other words, on the surface, it's Lin Ye fighting against the Sarkaz warriors, but in reality, it's a battle between Liz's outward and inner personalities. This is evident in Liz's behavior; she currently resembles someone suffering from schizophrenia.
But Lin Ye didn't think it was a bad thing.
They had been struggling and tormented for a long time about whether to "preserve" the current Nightingale or to "awaken" the real Liz. Now, the confrontation between the two personalities has revealed the right path.
"Liz!" Lin Ye shouted beside Liz, "People shouldn't forget the past, even if it was painful, but they shouldn't be imprisoned by it forever! Open your eyes and look, it's all over!"
“I can’t do it!” Liz cried. “We can’t get out!”
The moment the words left his mouth, a Sarkaz warrior sliced Lin Ye's arm open with a sharp blade. Although Lin Ye swiftly chopped the warrior off, this had never happened before. Lin Ye felt the pressure on him suddenly increase, meaning that in the struggle between his inner and outer personalities, the inner personality had gained the upper hand.
Lin Ye gritted his teeth. He knew very well that if this continued, he would inevitably fail. After all, this was a dream world, the domain of his inner personality. His outer personality could only manage to infiltrate as much power as possible.
We need to do something.
After cutting down several Sarkaz warriors, Lin Ye picked up Liz with one arm and rushed towards the exit of the secret passage. No one could stop him yet, though they left countless wounds on his body; he gritted his teeth and endured. He then threw Liz into the passage but didn't go in himself, instead closing the wooden door behind him.
Liz slammed her hand on the door: "You..."
"My name is Lin Ye." Lin Ye leaned against the wooden door, then faced the countless Sarkaz warriors, raised his sword, and said in a low voice, "You unlucky kid, you can't remember anyone's name from beginning to end, it's really troublesome."
What do you want to do?
“Listen, Liz.” Lin Ye pierced the Sarkaz warrior’s body, scalding blood splattering on his face. “Don’t run, and don’t open the door, or rather, don’t open the door now.”
I don't understand what you mean.
“It’s very simple, Liz,” Lin Ye said softly. “When you believe that it’s all over, when you believe that what’s outside the door is no longer hell, but a sunlit place, and when you believe that you can walk out, then open the door. I’ll be here waiting for you.”
“There’s no ground, we can’t get out…” Liz cried.
“No, Liz, believe in yourself,” Lin Ye said. “You should be able to feel it, to feel another memory, to recall another life. That’s reality, there’s sunshine, there are emotions, and there are pineapple buns…”
puff.
His body was cut open again by a sharp blade.
Lin Ye's clothes were stained red, a bloody mess. At that moment, he felt like the protagonist of a shonen anime, unusually handsome. Although being the protagonist was exhausting, at times like this he wanted to close his eyes and fall asleep, then open them to tell those waiting for the outcome that there was nothing he could do, he had done his best.
He really did his best.
But that's not enough.
"I never imagined I'd live like this..."
"You can think of it," Lin Ye said. "Don't rush, take your time, no one will pressure you."
Lin Ye already knew that he couldn't win this battle, or rather, it didn't matter whether he won or not. Because the true protagonist of this battle was Liz. Not the Liz that Shining and Nearl wanted to see, nor the Liz Lin Ye knew. But the Liz who survived the Sarkaz civil war, endured so much suffering, and ultimately lived on with strength and optimism.
Liz is Liz; there shouldn't be an option that replaces another.
The past her didn't know what light was like, so let the future her tell her. The future her didn't know where her roots lay, so let the past her tell her.
Two incomplete personalities should not replace each other, but rather become a true, complete person.
This is Liz's own battle; everyone else is just an embellishment.
Lin Ye knew that Liz, who was much stronger than him, would definitely win this battle.
“You should remember now, Liz,” Lin Ye said softly. “You’ve witnessed darkness and you’ve seen sunlight.”
Liz did not respond, and Lin Ye did not know whether she had heard him from behind the door.
But that doesn't matter anymore. As a psychologist, he should complete his final task, which is to provide patients with a sufficiently quiet place.
For example, keep all the troublemakers out of the door.
Covered in wounds, Lin Ye raised his sword, facing countless Sarkaz samurai. He wished someone would stand up and tell him "So cool!" The protagonist of a shonen manga should be protected by comments, even though this is a comedy.
And so, I don't know how much time passed.
