Pokémon Starting from Galar Author: Yuyue s

Summary:

After being reincarnated, he never expected to become his wife Marie from Pokémon Sword and Shield. But oh well, becoming Marie is fine too, since he gained even more precious abilities. He finally came to the world where Pokémon live, so it would be a real loss if he didn't give it his all.

So Mary packed her bags and began her travels and adventures in Galar, meeting all sorts of girls and embarking on the path she longed for in this wonderful world.

Chapter 1: Encounter with Yuri (the original heroine?)

Wilderness, magnificent grassland.

Marie is camping on the shore of Lake Aww with her friend Umbreon.

Mary skillfully set up a tent the size of a single person. She tugged at the collar of her peach-pink dress, feeling a little warm after all the work.

"Take a break, Ichi-chan."

“Ee (I understand, Mary.)”

Marie sat on the grass by the lake, holding her skirt with both hands, hugging her knees and staring at the Pokémon that occasionally popped their heads up on the lake, lost in thought.

"Ee (What's wrong?)"

With its two front paws planted on Marie's thighs, Umbreon tilted its head back with some concern and licked Marie's chin.

"Thank you, but it's nothing, I was just spacing out for a bit."

He reached out and hugged his little angel. Although Eevee's temperament had become much more aloof after evolving into Umbreon, it still showed affection and care for Marie.

If I had to describe it, it's like she's gone from a cute little sister to a reliable older sister.

"Ee (Hmm.)"

Rubbing its head against Marie's tummy, Umbreon squinted and lay on her lap, its ears twitching occasionally as it kept an eye on its surroundings.

Mary's ability to understand the language of the elves is not the result of any learning; it is a very simple and straightforward talent. From the moment she was born, the first language Mary understood was not the language of her parents, but rather the blessing of the lucky egg next to her.

It has been more than a decade since Marnie transmigrated to this Pokémon world. Yes, Marnie is not a native of this world, but was reincarnated with memories of another world.

In my past life, Pokémon was just a globally popular IP. But in this world, Pokémon are real beings scattered all over the world, living and depending on humans for survival.

Although she doesn't know if the reason is due to time travel, Mary has some abilities that are hard to call cheat codes, such as the ability to understand elven languages. As for the others, Mary herself is not yet able to determine whether they are coincidences or inevitable.

Since registering as a Pokémon Trainer last year and receiving her starter Pokémon, Eevee, from her brother, Marnie has frequently taken the train to the Wild Area for training.

Being able to communicate directly with Pokémon can save Marnie a lot of trouble. For example, being able to settle down on the shore of Lake Axew is one of the results.

Most Pokémon are not unreasonable beings. As long as you communicate well and offer rewards with goodwill, you can exchange them for goodwill.

After sitting for a while, Marie patted Umbreon's little belly, looked down and smiled, saying:

"It's about time to make lunch, then we'll start training."

"Eh? (Will we have something sweet to eat today?)"

"I don't know. The three honeybees haven't come back yet. I don't know if they'll make it in time for us to make lunch."

"...Eek (They should be back by now.)"

"Perhaps their queen flew a bit too far this time."

Mary touched her chin, unsure of the situation. There was a queen bee and her swarm of three bees nearby, which were old acquaintances of Mary's.

The first time we met, we accidentally bumped into a cluster of three honeybees sleeping together at night. It took a lot of energy cubes to calm them down.

From then on, every time Marie came here, she would use some Power Cubes specially made for Bug and Flying-type Pokémon to exchange for Sweetie.

Although the sweet treat hasn't arrived yet, we can't keep going hungry.

Mary stood up, patted her slightly wrinkled skirt, tugged at her black leather jacket, and then turned to walk towards the makeshift kitchen shelf that had been set up next to her.

The easiest thing to make in the wild is curry or soup. Just find some tree fruits and mushrooms, mix them with ingredients you bring, such as potatoes, and add curry cubes to make a delicious lunch.

Because there's a possibility of something sweet coming, today's flavor is a sweet curry.

Mary took out a box of Mary's Special Seasoning Energy Cubes, took out a sweet cube, crushed it, and added it to the pot. She then added chopped vegetables and mushrooms, put the lid on, and waited.

Taking into account the convenience of the wild, Mary used her knowledge of making energy cubes to specially create this batch of cubes with a focus on mixed flavors. These cubes have little effect on elves, but they are excellent for flavoring.

After it was made, it became a huge hit not only in Mary's own family, but also became a specialty of Spiketown...

Looking at the box labeled 'for seasoning' on her hand, Marie couldn't help but chuckle as she thought about these strange things. She put it away and then took out the Energy Cube for Umbreon.

These energy cubes, which are particularly effective against spirits, don't taste bad, but they're not exactly enjoyable to eat either. So, Mary turned it around and made them taste very bland.

When mashed up like this and mixed into meals, there won't be any jarring mix of flavors, and the elves will have a better taste experience.

Marie crouched down to look at the fire, then casually stroked Umbreon's head. No matter how many times she petted it, the soft, short fur on Umbreon's body was always incredibly captivating.

Just as Marie was completely absorbed in petting the cat, Umbreon suddenly flung Marie's hand away, turned around sharply, lowered its upper body, and warily looked into the nearby woods, where Dark-attribute energy began to gather.

"Eek! (Watch out, someone's coming!)"

"A person? A trainer?"

rustling—rustling—

With a rustling sound of grass, a girl with a head full of weeds emerged from the nearby bushes.

"Wow! That's great! Sobble Lizard! I knew I wasn't mistaken! There must be someone here!"

The girl's gray knitted cardigan and peach-pink skirt were covered in leaves and grass clippings, but she simply picked up the Pokémon that had been clinging to her arm and cheered happily.

"Yay—(Mmm!)"

Marnie recognized that Pokémon; it was Sobble, a Water-type Pokémon, and one of the starter Pokémon that the Galar Pokémon League had recently begun breeding, modeled after those in other regions.

It is a Water-type Pokémon with a relatively gentle personality and excellent potential.

However, these Pokémon are found in very few locations, and the League is still in the process of breeding them. Only a small number of the provisional starter Pokémon have leaked out from the hands of skilled trainers in the League and been distributed to some new trainers.

Marie originally had the opportunity to get one through her brother, but she refused. It wasn't anything else; it was just that her brother was a Dark-type trainer, and there was no need for her to choose a different type of Pokémon to fight alone as her starter Pokémon.

Despite having the advantage of her brother's connections and her own hard work, Marnie can devise a suitable training plan for any Pokémon of any type.

Putting those aside for now, Mary looked at the somewhat impetuous short-haired girl in front of her and figured she probably wasn't someone she needed to be wary of, so she coughed lightly twice.

"Cough cough..."

"Eh, ah! Sorry! Um... um, I... excuse me, no, um..."

The short-haired girl was gesturing wildly in a flustered manner, but she seemed too excited to speak properly.

Coo-coo-coo-

Just as the two were awkwardly locked in a stalemate, the short-haired girl's stomach suddenly let out a very clear growl. The girl froze for a moment, stunned.

Then he suddenly yelled, clutched his stomach, and squatted down. Although his face couldn't be seen, his exposed ears had been dyed a cute pink.

"..."

Mary looked down and exchanged a glance with Yi-chan, then smiled helplessly. She picked up a few oranges from the table next to her, walked over to the girl, and squatted down, smoothing her skirt.

"Hey—(Don't come any closer!)"

The teardrop lizard seemed a little shy. It darted from the girl's arm to her back, only peeking out half its head, trembling as it stared at Mary.

"Pfft... Let's eat some tree fruit. Just to fill our stomachs a little, lunch won't be ready for a while."

"Huh?"

After hearing Mary's voice, the short-haired girl raised her head, still covering her flushed cheeks with both hands. Her watery eyes stared pitifully at Mary for a while, almost identical to the tearful lizard behind her.

"Have something to eat."

He gestured with the orange berries in his hand again and pushed them over. The short-haired girl took them without any hesitation and popped them into her mouth one by one, while also handing two to her Pokémon.

"Waaah... Thank you!"

Mary reached out and patted I-chan's head as she approached, amusedly watching the girl with her mouth stuffed full and the tearful lizard.

"Eat first, then we can talk."

"Mmmmmmm!"

The short-haired girl nodded exaggeratedly, causing her hat to fall off and nearly throwing the tearful lizard away with it.

After spending some time eating all the tree fruits, the short-haired girl stood up, looked at Mary in front of her, and smiled as she extended her hand.

"Thank you! My name is Yuri, you're such a kind person!"

“My name is Mary. I’m just a few tree fruits. There’s no need to thank me. There’s a place to pick them right next to me.”

"No, no, no, no! There's no way to pick them from that place. Every single fruit tree is guarded by a Pokémon, right, Sobble? You were just chased all the way by a super mean rabbit~"

"Aww—(Yes, yes, that bunny is so scary QAQ)"

"Pfft... That must have been really tough."

Mary couldn't help but laugh. Each fruit tree was considered a shared resource for the Pokémon here; some Pokémon liked to monopolize it, while others preferred to share it with a group.

However, these are all Pokémon's assets. As humans who have come to the Pokémon's territory, it is unrealistic to expect to take their food without paying any price.

To be able to so easily obtain fresh tree fruits to eat in the wild using various methods, like Mary, is truly unique.

Chapter Two: The Wilderness, Mary's Lifestyle

After helping Yuri tidy up her messy clothes, Mari poured a glass of cool water and handed it to Yuri and the tearful lizard. Smiling, she sat down on the folding chair next to them and asked:

"Yuri, did you come in here alone?"

"Huh? Yeah! I was supposed to have a friend with me, but they disappeared in the blink of an eye when we came in."

Yuri angrily raised her little fist and waved it twice, looking quite furious. Meanwhile, the tearful lizard wrapped its tail around her arm, hung upside down, and licked the water in the glass one sip at a time.

"You only brought one Pokémon?"

Pointing to the still-young teardrop lizard, Mary found it somewhat unbelievable. The child was rather timid, and judging from its development, it was clearly only recently born and didn't possess much fighting power.

"Mmm, this kid is my starter Pokémon! The Champion even gave it to me personally! Hehehe~"

Yuri held a cup in one hand and a tear-eyed lizard in the other, a smug expression on her face. However, the title of "champion" did indeed catch Mary's attention.
