Pokémon from Galar

The move U-turn, when used by a trainer, is used to switch Pokémon, but if it's a wild Pokémon or if you only have one Pokémon, it's just a literal translation: a rapid attack followed by a U-turn.
It will return immediately upon impact, without any pause in between. Combined with Draco's speed, Ichigo might not be able to seize that exact moment to launch a counterattack, and this risk cannot be taken.
After the first round of high-speed offense and defense, both sides paused for a moment, seemingly without prior agreement.
Mary kept her eyes glued to the battlefield, not daring to be distracted at all.
Wild Pokémon, while perhaps not as strong as those trained and developed by their owners, are notoriously difficult to deal with!
Dragapults are generally trained by their trainers to be fast-paced attackers, and they tend to learn fewer status-type moves. However, wild Pokémon are different...
For example, right now.
After a brief pause, Dorambart and Ichigo made their moves almost simultaneously, each seemingly trying to catch the other off guard.
"Strange light!"
Electromagnetic waves.
Almost simultaneously, I-chan's strange beam and Dronbalut's electromagnetic wave struck their opponent, causing them to fall into a state of paralysis and confusion.
The two little guys, who had been on top of Dorombalto's head, were particularly dizzy and floated off, leisurely bumping their heads into the ground.
"..."
"..."
After all, it wasn't a serious competition. Mary sighed helplessly and called out to Yuri, who was watching in disbelief:
"Yuri! Help me carry those two little ones to your side!"
"Hoo...hoo...(Thank you...)"
In his confused state, Dorambaruto's roars were somewhat indistinct, but ultimately his concern for his junior prevailed, and he agreed to Mari's idea.
"oh oh!"
Yuri nodded hurriedly, ran over, picked up the two dizzy Doron Mesias, and left the battle arena.
Mary patted Ralts's head, who was nervously covering his eyes, and said with a smile:
"Let's continue!"
"Roar--!"
The abnormal situation on both sides will not improve so quickly, which is an opportunity for both sides.
Paralysis affects speed and reaction time, and makes it easy to fail moves. Confusion is even worse, like being drunk, making it easy to hit yourself with a move. The most troublesome thing is that you may misjudge the situation.
Especially when there is no trainer to guide them.
So now it's a matter of whose mistake was bigger...
P.S.: For ease of understanding, I haven't mentioned it in the main text. Umbreon's ability is Inner Focus. In the game, it's described as not being able to flinch. However, in reality, I've written it as having a pretty good psychic ability.
Dragapult's ability is Cleanse, which, according to the game description, prevents opponents from lowering its stats.
That's why I-chan didn't use any skills that reduced abilities during the battle here.
P.S.: Someone asked me earlier which version I wrote... Actually, I wrote two versions, which means there will be two cities with two gyms. I will explain my modified settings in detail later when we get to the gym challenge.
Chapter 8 Umbreon vs. Draco Barto (Part 2)
"Roar--!"
Dorambaru forcibly suppressed the chaotic feeling, wanting to finish the battle quickly. Had the abnormal status and the temporary departure of the little creatures on his head affected his judgment?
An astonishing amount of energy rapidly accumulated, and his eyes were fixed intently on Ichigo, who was enduring discomfort.
"Roar--"
Destruction Ray!
"Hold on!!"
Mary was both shocked and excited. The Destruction Ray was powerful, but the recovery time after the attack was relatively long. As long as Ichigo could block this attack, the outcome of this battle would be basically decided.
Ichigo understood perfectly well. The moment Doronbalto opened his mouth, Ichigo's thoughts immediately overlapped with Mari's. He gritted his teeth and supported his somewhat unresponsive body, trying to hold up the protective light barrier.
but……
With a loud bang.
The flickering light screen shattered instantly, and a torrent of white energy engulfed I-chan's entire body in a flash.
boom--!!!
The massive explosion and smoke obscured the battlefield, and gusts of air surged out, causing Mary to instinctively take two steps back. Yuri, who was watching from the sidelines, was even more flustered, taking care of her luggage and a few small creatures to prevent them from being blown away.
"babble--!!!"
I-chan's agonizing screams, though clenched through her teeth, reached Mari's ears. She held Ralts tightly, who was struggling to break free, and forced herself to remain calm.
With Ichigo's strength, even if she took a direct hit from a Hyper Beam, she absolutely couldn't fall. Right now, the one who's most panicked is definitely Ichigo, who made a mistake, so I absolutely can't panic!!
"I-chan! Quick Attack!!!"
"Ee-! (I understand!!)"
Having endured the powerful attack, Ichigo's panicked state caused by the mistake instantly subsided upon hearing that familiar, crisp sound.
Ichigo practiced this move, "Lightning Flash," for a very long time. Because of her relatively weak speed talent, she had to make it almost an instinct to deal with fast opponents.
call out--!
With a whooshing sound, a huge cloud of dust was dispersed, and a white figure shot out like lightning. I-chan's body finally responded to the two people's expectations.
Even though the effects of paralysis still interfered with Ichigo's movements, it couldn't stop Ichigo from wanting to meet her trainer's expectations!
"Roar--!!"
Dramberto sensed something was wrong the moment he made his move, but unfortunately, having just used Hyper Beam, he couldn't react immediately.
Almost instantly, Ichigo approached Dronbalut, its powerful hind legs launching it forward as it leaped onto Dronbalut's body. Dronbalut's body gradually calmed down, and it began to struggle slightly.
The opportunity was fleeting, and Ichigo knew exactly what she had to do: a deadly move that could kill in one strike.
Its body was trembling from the pain, and all its muscles were screaming. Hyper Beam is not so easy to take down. If it were a Pokémon that was not good at defense, it probably wouldn't even be able to stand up right now.
Even for Umbreon, the damage to its body tissues caused by the immense energy still blurred its vision, and the tingling pain and sluggish reactions from the numbness made it suffer greatly.
But the battle wasn't over yet. If she didn't seize this opportunity to counterattack and had to take another attack, Ichigo's injured body would probably never be able to keep up with Dronbalut's speed again.
Knowing this perfectly well, Ichigo frantically channeled his Dark-type energy as if he were courting death, clinging desperately to Draco's body with all four limbs.
Sensing the gathering energy, Dralongaru was not to be outdone. If this attack landed, he would be defeated! He had to interrupt or disrupt his opponent's move!
If there's no time to get rid of Ichigo, and if the tail can't reach it, then use your claws! Mobilize the dragon-type energy you're most familiar with, and quickly concentrate it on your forelimbs!
Fraud!
Dragon Claw!
Even if stiffness hinders my performance, I must use it! This is an opportunity I've been waiting for!!
Even when facing imminent certain death, one must use their own strength to create a chance for the battle to continue!
Both Pokémon, driven by a desire to win, unleashed their moves.
boom--!!!
Tear--!
"Roar--!!!"
"babble--!!"
With a howl that echoed throughout the cave, Dorambaruto's massive body was slammed hard to the ground, finally unleashing its ultimate move of using the opponent's force against them.
I-chan was tossed high into the air, enduring the tearing sensation in her body. She struggled to maintain her balance in mid-air before crashing heavily to the ground.
Fresh blood flowed out from the long wound on his side.
Struggling to support her trembling limbs, I-chan finally managed to stand up, panting heavily. She forced herself to use such a technically demanding move, and then took another hit from the Dragon Claw. Her already exhausted body felt even heavier.
"Cough cough... vomit..."
The attack had grazed her abdomen, causing I-chan to feel short of breath. She lowered her head, coughed a few times, and even vomited up some of her lunch...
However, she dared not let her guard down. Because of the interference from the opponent's attack, her technique of using the opponent's force against them was not fully effective. The paralysis itself also affected I-chan's movements.
The opponent must still have the strength to fight.
Seeing Yi-chan's wary expression and the wounds on her body, Mary immediately understood the situation.
"I-chan, moonlight!"
This technique is weather-dependent. Although there's nothing in this ghost cave and the healing effect is negligible, we should still seize this rare opportunity to catch our breath.
Meanwhile, Dorambart was thoroughly tricked, leaving him completely bewildered in his already chaotic state. The massive damage he suffered almost prevented him from getting back on his feet.
It seems my final blow was successful... I can continue fighting.
Dorombalto pondered this, finally regaining some clarity, but unfortunately, now was not the time to reflect on his mistakes.
With his weary body floating back up, Dorambaruto once again focused his gaze on his opponent.
This little guy has grown up so fast... From that tiny little thing I saw a year ago, he has now grown into such a powerful Pokémon.
"Roar—! (Final blow, little guy, wanna go for a big one?!)"
Dorambarut was unwilling to give up, but his current physical condition prevented him from continuing the high-intensity offense and defense of the previous game, so there was only one option left!
“Ee--! (Of course! Mary!)”
"I see."
Mary reached down, took the Poké Ball from her waist, held it in her hand, pressed the switch, and aimed it at Ichigo in the center of the battle arena.
"Come back."
As I recalled Eevee, the Dynamax Band on my wrist reacted, channeling the pre-prepared Dynamax energy into the Poké Balls in several streams.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Dralongbalut's power grew even greater, a massive surge of crimson energy flowing into his body. The clouds in the sky also descended along with the energy, concealing Dralongbalut's figure.
P.S.: Sorry, I was so focused on the stats of the "Eternal Body" skill that I overlooked the accuracy... My bad, my bad, I've corrected it now. Also, thank you to the person who pointed out the problem in the comments.
I'm still too inexperienced. I've revised many details repeatedly, but I still miss some...
