Crossing the azure as a black dragon
Page 136
"Dead end?"
Black Dragon put away its ship equipment, stepped forward and touched the wall; it was ice cold.
Ding
Suddenly, a strange sound came from the passage. Then, Black Dragon felt as if he had been scanned by something. The originally dim passage suddenly emitted a blinding white light, forcing Black Dragon to close his eyes.
When he opened his eyes again, everything was different. The place where the black dragon was had become a small, enclosed room. There wasn't much in it, just a raised metal table with a computer on it and something that looked like a remote control next to it. Underneath the remote control was a laptop.
These things were placed here at some unknown time, but there is no sign of them being eroded by time. Even the notebook looks brand new.
"Ah, why does everyone like to leave information in such troublesome places?"
Black Flying Dragon sighed and stepped forward to collect all the items.
"Tiancheng, may I go back now?"
Black Dragon took out his communicator and said.
"..."
There was no response from the other end.
"Ok?"
Black Dragon seemed to realize something, took out the remote control, looked at it, and pressed the start/stop button.
"Black Dragon, can you hear me?"
Amajo's somewhat urgent voice came through the communicator.
"I've turned off the shielding system. Can you observe the situation here now?"
Black Flying Dragon sat on the table and crossed his legs.
"We can observe the situation in the sea now. Where are you?"
Amagi answered.
"A separate space containing some things left behind by our predecessors."
As he spoke, Black Dragon took out a notebook and flipped through it. It was written in Sakura Empire script and was actually a diary. The first page said that the room would explode ten minutes after the shielding system was turned off.
"!?"
Black Dragon leaped up from the table and darted back into the spatial point it had come from, returning to the dark sea.
"Well done, come back now."
Amagi's voice came, and light spots reappeared on the Black Flying Dragon's body before disappearing in a flash.
……
"So, the teleportation doesn't need any adjustments?"
The black dragon returned to the teleportation room with dead fish eyes.
"Come to the command center."
Tiancheng ignored Black Flying Dragon's complaints.
"Yes Yes."
Black Dragon put away the communicator and continued reading the diary.
The second page states that the lead author, Haru Mizushima, came to this base to conduct research and introduces the research direction of this base.
Research revealed the existence of ship girl-like characters and the ability to replicate the Siren warship construction technology.
There wasn't much information provided here. Instead, the researcher, whose gender was unclear, started to ramble on, saying that the assistants assigned to him were clumsy and that the base was too big and easy to get lost.
"A fellow traveler."
Upon seeing the word "lost," Black Flying Dragon chuckled.
On the third page, it says that the experiments at this base are inhumane and that the research here must be stopped.
"..."
Black Flying Dragon closed his diary and strode towards the command room.
There were three people in the command room. Nagato and Shinano were resting with their eyes closed in their seats, while Amagi looked up at the screen displaying the mirrored sea.
"What's written in your notebook? You look terrible."
Shinano slightly opened his eyes, his gaze sweeping over the black dragon.
"I didn't look closely, but it's definitely not a good thing."
Black Dragon handed the notebook to Shinano.
"Bring the computer over here."
Tiancheng glanced back at the Black Flying Dragon.
Black Dragon took out the storage cube and placed the laptop on the control panel.
Amagi took out a series of connecting cables from his sleeve, connected the computer to the last large screen that had no signal, and then started it up.
After waiting a few seconds, a place that looked like a dormitory appeared on the screen, with a figure in a white coat standing in the middle.
"Hidden so deeply, in the end..."
"You still managed to find it. I've written down all the details here in my diary. That remote control controls the base's security system, and then there's the satellite; I hid it too, I don't know if it's been discovered."
A somewhat hoarse male voice rang out, speaking in a very casual tone.
"I don't know what you've come here to know, so I'll just talk about the birth and evolution of the Sirens."
The sound rang out again.
The screen then turned into a white background, and then a long, strange-looking siren appeared at the top.
"The initial information about the Sirens was unclear, but these are artificial Sirens created at the same time as the original Sirens. They were created because the three countries of the Northern Alliance, White Eagle, and Ironblood polluted the environment due to the excessive use of energy stones. They are called Oddities, which are products of the resonance between marine life and shipwrecks. Their appearance and abilities are very diverse, and they are the weakest Sirens."
A hoarse voice rang out explaining.
"?"
Black Flying Dragon looked at Sky City and saw her nod slightly.
Before long, mass-produced warship models appeared below the oddly shaped structure.
"This is a product of the Sirens imitating human warships. They used a very crude method to inject energy into the hull and write a fixed program into it. Its combat power is equivalent to that of human warships."
After a few seconds of pause, a row of imitators appeared below the mass-produced model.
"These things... are products of the Sirens absorbing our failed 'ship girl' project. The so-called 'ship girl' project was to create ship girl-like beings by having ordinary people resonate with warships. In fact, it was possible to create ship girl-like beings, but the people who participated in the experiment all lost their minds, namely those guys guarding outside my room."
The sound rang out again.
"It is against humanity."
Black Flying Dragon thought of the contents of the third page of the diary.
"Don't be surprised yet, the important part is coming up next."
Sound can be heard in the video.
Below the imitators, another row of humanoid sirens appeared, and the black dragon found their appearance very familiar.
If I had to name it, it would be a siren-ified ship girl.
"These are the Wanderers, products created by the Sirens in imitation of ship girls. These things have the ability to think. This is the first time that a Sirens with consciousness has appeared. They are the backbone of the Sirens, but they are the first targets in the war. I don't know if you still had them at that time."
Commentary by Haru Mizushima.
Have you ever encountered this?
Black Flying Dragon looked at the person next to him.
"These sirens roam the deep sea and rarely appear on the battlefield."
Tiancheng responded.
"Yes, so far all the sirens have been sirens that have imitated our technology."
As soon as Mizushima Haru finished speaking, another row of things appeared below the Wanderer.
What appeared were sirens with anthropomorphic postures and exaggerated ship equipment, exuding wildness.
"These are sirens in the deep sea that I discovered via satellite. An expedition team encountered them once and was defeated in the blink of an eye. This has surpassed our current weapon technology. I personally would call them annihilators."
"These are the Sirens that have appeared so far. I don't know if there will be any more Sirens in the future. By the way, I'm 28 years old this year and currently wanted by the Sakura Empire. It's currently 2034, and I don't know if I'll still be able to find a wife in the future. I hope I can get a cute ship girl wife..."
The muttering voices gradually faded into the distance, and the video seemed to be coming to an end.
"Oh, I forgot to mention, I discovered something strange in the deep sea using satellite data. Take a look for yourselves."
The sound rang out again, and the video flickered, showing something shot from an overhead angle. The light was dim, and the sirens on the sea looked like ants, but what could be seen were dazzling flames and rising black smoke.
These Sirens were actually engaged in a civil war, and it was a very fierce one.
In the end, something happened, and all the sirens on the sea surface exploded in an instant, and filming came to an end.
"..."
Black Flying Dragon rubbed his temples, trying to process this unexpectedly large amount of information.
"The Annihilator and the Black Dragon are of similar combat strength."
Shinano yawned, as if she had gotten sleepy while watching a video.
"how about you?"
Black Flying Dragon looked at Shinano.
"My fighting ability is not strong."
Shinano smiled slightly.
"The video is set 32 years ago, and the Sirens may have evolved into stronger individuals."
Amagi closed the laptop and walked to the side, saying...
"The Sirens can even imitate this."
