Crossing the azure as a black dragon

"Speaking of which, it seems there's no reward for this expedition mission."
Once people relax, their thoughts become more active. Black Flying Dragon thought about his empty wallet and couldn't help but sigh.
She had noticed this before; apart from a few paid missions when she first joined the port area, she had basically been doing free work and had become a regular tool.
Wandering through the streets, Black Dragon returned to the vicinity of the docks and arrived at the armory.
There are two docks in the Free Port area. The rightmost dock is the one that Black Dragon and her crew frequently use. This dock is for ship girls only, and it's filled with cargo warehouses and cranes. If you walk to the left from this dock, there's a wooden bridge that separates the two areas. This is the public dock, where ships carrying guests or commanders usually dock. A bridge has been built here specifically for normal walking.
To the left of this public pier is a renovated green area. There is no road, only a narrow path. Following this path, you will arrive at the area in front of the armory. To the left of the armory is a huge repair workshop. The armory entrance is located in the middle of the workshop. The two buildings are identical. Akashi conducts his research in the workshop. Beyond that is a small river. The small boats for the Mid-Autumn Festival go out to sea along this river.
Is Boss Ming here?
Black Flying Dragon walked into the armory and called out.
"Akashi isn't here. Is there something you need?"
Yubari, with fluffy fox ears, walked out from inside.
"I see. Do you know where Akashi went?"
Black Flying Dragon felt that he was having bad luck today. He looked for Yuudachi, but she wasn't home. He looked for Akashi, but she wasn't home either.
"Akashi went to Sakura Empire with a caravan and hasn't returned for several days."
Yubari wagged its tail and replied.
"Sakura Empire? Thank you, sorry to bother you."
Black Flying Dragon thanked Yubari somewhat regretfully and left the armory.
Akashi is going to Sakura Empire, probably because Amagi and the others need to see her. If nothing unexpected happens, she probably won't be back for a while.
After leaving the armory, Black Flying Dragon walked into the port area along the road next to the armory.
I was planning to settle everything first, then take a nice bath, but after wandering around for a couple of minutes, I didn't get anything done.
When they arrived at the bathhouse, it was already empty. Black Flying Dragon soaked in it for more than ten minutes before his ears returned to their pure white color.
Looking at the empty bathhouse, Hei Feilong pursed his lips.
If she had come back immediately, she would have received a whole host of benefits, but now they're all gone.
"Forget it, I'll go back and get some sleep tonight, and start making money tomorrow."
Black Flying Dragon patted his cheeks, stood up, walked out of the repair pool, dried himself off, changed into casual clothes, and left the bathhouse.
"Why do you look so worried after just a few days?"
As soon as he stepped outside, Black Dragon encountered Wales, who had a reassuring smile on his face.
"It's nothing, I just feel like I'm having some bad luck. Is there anything I can help you with?"
Black Dragon waved his hand.
"There's an impromptu meeting here that we need you to attend."
Wales shrugged.
"Lead the way."
Black Dragon was not surprised. They had accomplished virtually nothing on this expedition, and the higher-ups were certainly not satisfied. Since they had participated in this mission, they were bound to face criticism and denunciation after the failure.
"I'm sorry, my partner is a bit stubborn."
Wales smiled and walked along the road with the black dragon.
"It's nothing. More importantly, is Yuudachi out on another mission?"
While asking questions, Black Flying Dragon pondered what to eat for dinner.
"Yes, I took on an escort mission yesterday, and I should be back tomorrow."
Wales nodded.
"This guy, isn't he worried about me at all?"
The black dragon gritted its teeth.
“Yuudachi came to ask me about your situation every day during the two days you left, but after Hood and the others came back, Yuudachi stopped coming.”
Wales spoke with a hint of a smile; a sulking black dragon was a rare sight.
"Oh, I see. That makes more sense."
Black Dragon crossed his arms and nodded in satisfaction.
It seems that after following her for so many days, Yuudachi has fully realized that she will not be defeated by a mere Siren.
The two chatted as they arrived at the office building. The conference room was the one she had been told to attend before leaving.
The usual meeting place was packed, but this time there weren't many people. Hood was still in the main seat, while Enterprise and Bismarck were resting with their eyes closed below.
"Awaited."
After Black Flying Dragon entered, he spoke to the group.
"It's alright, please take a seat."
Hu De gestured with his hand.
Black Dragon obediently found a seat and sat down.
"First of all, Black Dragon, on behalf of the entire expedition team, I would like to express my gratitude to you."
Hood coughed lightly, stood up, and solemnly thanked Black Dragon.
"Huh? What did I do?"
Black Dragon blinked, somewhat puzzled.
"You gave Helena that teleportation device, didn't you?"
Businesses are opening their eyes.
"Ah."
Black Dragon nodded.
"Without this teleportation device, we would have perished in the deep sea."
"Hood spoke up."
"Alright, but I only provided the props. You're the ones who actually use them. You're welcome."
Black Dragon was somewhat alarmed. Fortunately, he had understood the characteristics of space before setting off, otherwise he would have been in real trouble this time.
"No matter what, we were saved because of you, so we must express our gratitude."
Hood shook his head.
"I appreciate your thanks, but this meeting shouldn't just be about thanking me."
When Hood said that, Black Dragon became a little more serious.
"Well, although you caused a tsunami, the damage from this tsunami was indiscriminate, so we can't say that we caused it. Therefore, the results of this expedition are almost negligible, and the mission given by the higher-ups has basically failed."
Hu De sat down and began to summarize.
"Ah."
The black dragon responded.
"This mission was impossible to complete in the first place, so failure is normal, Belfast."
Hood didn't say much, but gestured with his hand, and Belfast obediently took out a document and handed it to Black Dragon.
"..."
Black Flying Dragon opened the document and looked at it, then immediately frowned.
The document first expressed regret over the failure of the expedition, then changed its tone and said that the Free Port area had consumed a lot of resources, yet the Sirens were still rampant both inside and outside the defensive line. It expressed doubts about their efficiency and hoped that they would produce some actual results to offset the resources they had consumed.
"That's it? You think you can bring down the conservatives?"
Black Dragon curled his lip and returned the document to Belfast.
First, they give you an impossible task, then they pressure and pressure you. Is this an attempt to weaken the influence of the free port area?
If Hood and the others really fall during the expedition, it will be really difficult for the others in the port to handle this.
"It's just a warning, ignore it. The resources we use are shared by the Eastern Emperor commanders, and they have nothing to do with it. However, we haven't achieved any significant results in many years."
Hu De tapped his fingers on the table, his tone flat.
"Leave this to me. I guarantee that all the hidden Sirens within Donghuang will be wiped out within a month."
Black Flying Dragon narrowed his eyes slightly.
With her current combat power, she might not be invincible in the deep sea, but she is confident that no Sirens can defeat her within the defensive line.
Do we need cover?
Bismarck spoke up. They already knew about Black Dragon's performance in the deep sea, so they naturally didn't think Black Dragon was exaggerating.
"After I launched the operation, I created an atmosphere of eagerness to fight among everyone in the port area."
Black Dragon did not refuse.
"can."
Wales didn't hesitate; he immediately agreed.
"The meeting is over. Go back and rest."
Hu De stood up and announced the end of the meeting.
"Ah."
Black Flying Dragon stood up and left the conference room.
I touched it today too.
