Crossing the azure as a black dragon

"Oh? Black Dragon, who have you set your sights on this time?"
Wales sat down in Mio's seat with a somewhat amused expression.
"What nonsense are you talking about? This time, I'm the one being targeted."
Black Flying Dragon placed the book on his lap and sighed.
"Excuse my bluntness, it's hard for anyone who has come into contact with you not to keep an eye on you."
Wales leaned back in her seat, looking at the girls on stage who, though tired, still wore smiles on their faces.
"Tch, has the mission been settled yet?"
Black Flying Dragon clicked his tongue and asked a question in return.
"Found it. Go to the sea to guard the construction team. The pay is good and the work is easy."
Wales gave a strange smile.
Can I go?
Yuu asked from the side.
Two people can get double the money.
"It's a bit difficult. Black Dragon said it was a mission for one person, so I only found one spot."
Wales looked troubled.
"Oh, okay, then I'll go find another mission."
Yuudachi wasn't disappointed and simply gave up.
Are you busy today?
Black Dragon glanced at Wales, but she didn't mention anyone.
“A ship bound for another country ran into trouble, and I organized a rescue mission.”
Wales answered.
"Thanks for your hard work."
"Black Flying Dragon said."
Wales smiled smugly.
Chapter Thirty-Five: Life is Hard, Feilong Sighs
The performance in Saratoga concluded with applause from the audience, marking a successful end.
Just as Black Dragon was about to take Yuudachi back, Santiago ran out panting, saying she wanted to take Black Dragon to a concert by that famous singer. She had secretly gone to queue up and bought three tickets yesterday.
"You went to all the concerts that other artists came to hold before?"
Black Flying Dragon stood in the waiting room, glanced down at the ticket in his hand. The start time was 6:15, so there was still half an hour left.
"That's right. We're in Donghuang now. If we want to write songs that everyone likes, we can't do it without mastering the basics."
Santiago said with a grin from the side.
Black Dragon paused for a moment, then smiled and patted Santiago's head, leaving Santiago looking completely bewildered.
Soon, Yuudachi ran over from a distance, bringing three dinners.
After a quick dinner, the three of them took a car to the outskirts of the concert venue.
Unlike Saratoga's self-made stage, this place rented an entire stadium, packed with people—at least tens of thousands—so Black Dragon and the others could only watch the stage from afar.
The singer performing was a woman who looked no more than thirty years old. She was dressed in a regular dress and walked around the stage singing. The atmosphere in the entire venue was quite good. Santiago's eyes were practically sparkling with excitement, and Yuudachi, influenced by the environment, also joined in.
Suddenly, the singer's gaze swept over the three men, Black Dragon, before averting its eyes when it landed on Santiago.
Black Flying Dragon narrowed his eyes.
The performance here was scheduled to end at eight o'clock. Santiago walked out of the venue with a satisfied look on his face, then mysteriously found a place for Black Dragon and the other man to wait for a while, and then ran off on his own.
"You're really working hard."
Black Dragon watched Santiago run away, then turned to look at the brightly lit city center in the distance, his mind somewhat dazed.
Black Flying Dragon wouldn't feel anything when walking in cities of other countries, but it was different in Donghuang. As soon as she entered the city, she felt a little uneasy.
Fortunately, Santiago didn't leave for long; he returned after only half an hour, carrying two autographed plaques with the signatures of the singers from the performance.
"You don't go and ask for autographs every time, do you?"
Black Dragon casually asked as he took the autograph from Santiago.
"No, I didn't dare to go to the first few concerts after I came here."
Santiago shook his head.
"These are all your competitors, keep it up."
Black Dragon patted Santiago on the shoulder.
"Ok!"
Santiago nodded emphatically.
"Sister Long, can we go back now?"
Yuudachi leaned against the black dragon, half-asleep, listening to their conversation, and said sleepily.
"Okay, we can go back now."
Black Flying Dragon smiled, bent down and carried Yuudachi on his back to the waiting area to wait for the bus.
……
Three days passed after the concert. During this time, when nothing much happened, Black Flying Dragon renovated the empty room on the second floor, turning it into a Japanese-style room in the style of the Eastern Kingdom. Yuudachi liked it very much and rolled around on it after taking a bath.
Before they knew it, autumn had passed, and cold air began to descend upon the port area. Although the weather was still sunny, the temperature remained low. Black Flying Dragon was a little worried about Yuudachi, so he took her to buy a few more warm clothes.
"Sister Long, I'm going out."
In the entryway of the room, Yuudachi, wearing the coat that Black Dragon had bought for her, called out to the room.
"Be careful on the road, safety first."
Black Flying Dragon poked his head out of the kitchen and gave a few instructions.
Yuudachi received a request yesterday and is officially setting off today.
"Okay~ Sister Long, you be careful too."
Yuudachi waved and turned to walk out the door.
Black Flying Dragon watched Yuudachi leave, and sighed softly.
gas.
The longer she spent with Yuudachi, the less she wanted Yuudachi to leave her sight. What if something happened to her during a mission?
Is anyone home?
Not long after Yuudachi left, the door was opened.
"I'm home, is it time?"
Black Dragon wiped his hands, walked out of the kitchen, and looked at Wales standing at the door.
"Soon, the shift change is this afternoon."
Wales rubbed his hands together and walked into the living room.
Wales, who were wearing skirts just a couple of days ago, are now wearing pants; the temperature has indeed dropped quite quickly these past few days.
What's wrong with that place?
Black Dragon brought Wales a cup of tea and casually asked a question.
"It's similar to the situation you reported last time. The team that set off with us is a collection team, and there's another collection team hiding nearby. After we leave with our people, the one that's hiding will take over the collection. There are mass-produced Sirens to help drive away or lure away any ship girls that get too close."
Wales drank his tea and spoke calmly.
"So, what did you find out?"
Black Dragon frowned. She had always thought the traitors were just selling intelligence to the Sirens, and she never expected that these people would actually gain control of the mass-produced aircraft.
"We found out a little bit. The extra collection teams were not legal teams; they were just laborers 'transferred' from the inland areas. The extra resources flowed into the market through various channels and eventually ended up in a national department responsible for weapons development."
Wales said.
"This is troublesome, what do I need to do this time?"
Black Flying Dragon clicked his tongue and asked.
“We will investigate this matter through proper channels. When you have time during your trip, take a look around at the sirens in that area. If you can, you can take care of them directly.”
Wales shrugs in explanation.
"We don't need to let the higher-ups hear us?"
Black Flying Dragon curled his lip.
"Haha, you can't blame them for this. They've been trying to do nothing against the Sirens for so many years, so it's understandable that they're anxious."
Wales smiled.
Black Flying Dragon shook her head. Those in positions of power have many issues to consider, and the hidden entanglements are very complex. Those who can truly act freely are the lower-level personnel like her. She just talks nonsense occasionally. How bad can the higher-ups be if a country can allow a port dominated by ship girls to exist?
"By the way, who are the people I'm paired with this time?"
Black Dragon changed the subject.
You'll find out then.
Wales avoided the Black Dragon's gaze.
"Let me guess, it's not your royal team, is it?"
Black Flying Dragon reached out and tapped the table, his tone somewhat unfriendly.
"There's nothing I can do about this. It's mainly because His Majesty was instigated by them. You'll have to bear with it."
