Vivian knew from the first glance that Yoshikage Kira possessed a heart as pure as a baby's. Yet his actions were completely unlike those of a 'baby'; he felt no sorrow at the sight of the corpses of his fellow human beings, nor did he bear any psychological burden for killing.
This really struck Vivian as odd, because he was completely different from any fairy or human she had ever seen before.
Yoshikage Kira suddenly asked:
Do you have a veil?
"Huh? Yes, it is, but why?"
Vivian asked, puzzled.
"Don't ask, just cover your face."
Vivian puffed out her cheeks slightly. What? Would it kill her to explain?
Although she was inwardly grumbling, the girl obediently followed Kira Yoshikage's instructions, took out a veil and put it on her face to cover her appearance.
On the way back, more than a dozen riders joined the team.
They were all knights under Sir Hector, but in this turbulent and desolate era, even knights who should have been free from the burden of production had to do farm work to make a living, and many knights had even lost their combat experience long ago.
Even with Sir Hector's call to arms, it would take a considerable amount of time to gather them all. That's why Sir Hector only led half of his cavalry to intercept the bandits, while the remaining knights arrived as reinforcements after they had fully assembled.
As for Sir Hector's territory.
It's called territory, but there's neither a castle nor towering walls here; it's just an ordinary little village.
The village was surrounded by simple stone walls, and dozens of infantrymen stood guard at the entrance. When they saw that it was Sir Hector leading the knights returning, they cheered loudly to celebrate the knights' triumphant return.
The peasant women were dismissed and sent home.
The grain in the wagons was piled into the warehouse, and the assembled knights dispersed.
Only Sir Hector, along with another knight, led Kira Yoshikage and his two companions back to the manor located in the center of the territory.
The manor wasn't particularly luxurious, but it wasn't shabby either.
The knight who had been following the old knight led the three into the living room, removed his helmet to reveal a handsome face, and said apologetically:
"My name is Kai. My father is removing his armor. Please wait a moment."
"Please enjoy your meal, guests."
A blond boy with a long ponytail entered the living room, placing several drinks on the table in front of them. By male standards, the boy was extremely thin, a stark contrast to the tall knight beside him.
The wooden cups were not filled with tea, but with purplish-red wine.
Just as the boy was about to leave, Vivian suddenly asked curiously:
"What's your name?"
"Huh?"
The blond boy looked at the veiled girl before him, appearing somewhat hesitant.
“Arthur…”
"Artoria!"
A stern rebuke came from outside the door. The old knight, who had already removed his armor, stormed into the living room with a grim face and said in a deep voice:
"This is not a place for you. Go to the stables and take care of my horses!"
"Yes, Hector."
Artoria responded and left with her head down.
"Father……"
The young knight, who called himself Kai, hesitated before finally swallowing his words under his father's stern gaze and silently left the living room.
Vivian had no interest in this family drama and was playfully winking at Yoshikage Kira.
She finally understood why Yoshikage Kira insisted on her wearing a veil, but how did he know?
"Was all of this part of your calculations?"
The girl's beautiful, emerald-like eyes sparkled with an unusual light, and she even began to wonder if Yoshikage Kira possessed the legendary ability to see into the future.
"Your Mightiness."
Sir Hector looked at the two men, his expression softening slightly, and he smiled.
"Thank you both again for your help with my territory. May I ask how I should address you?"
“My name is Kira, and this is Vivian.”
Vivian sat quietly to the side, not saying a word, letting Yoshikage Kira make the introductions.
But at the end, the girl added a sentence on her own initiative:
“And there’s Melyuchina.”
"Meliuqina?"
Sir Hector's gaze fell on the only unintroduced silver-haired girl with a bewildered look in her eyes, like a child.
"Isn't the name I gave this child pretty good?"
Vivian's eyes curved into crescent moons as she raised her snow-white neck as if to claim credit.
"A very nice name."
Yoshikage Kira praised her generously and casually ruffled the girl's hair.
This somewhat offensive display of intimacy startled Vivian, a faint blush rising to her cheeks, but she didn't rush to break free.
in fact.
It's quite comfortable.
Sir Hector, witnessing this scene, gave Kira Yoshikage a deep look and spoke in a low voice:
"Then, may I ask what brings you two to my territory?"
"We're just passing through; we're on a trip."
"Traveling?"
Sir Hector looked on knowingly; it sounded rather unbelievable that a man could travel through turbulent Britain with two frail young girls.
But if you combine this with the information he obtained from the rescued peasant women, it's actually quite easy to understand—
This man was undoubtedly a powerful knight, capable of easily eliminating several bandits in the blink of an eye.
The blonde girl was a powerful magician; a spell she casually unleashed was enough to slaughter dozens of well-equipped knights.
With that kind of capability, it's not surprising that they dared to travel in Britain.
But the problem is...
Sir Hector didn't believe them!
He didn't believe they were simply traveling; in fact, he had a gut feeling that these two were after his 'adopted son'!
Sir Hector asked with a kind smile:
Is there anything I can do to help you?
Vivian raised her little hand and asked cautiously:
"We'd like to stay here for a while, is that alright?"
"can."
Sir Hector nodded slightly, his expression unchanged.
Vivian was both pleasantly surprised and conflicted:
"Is this really okay? But we have nothing to repay you with."
“You are the benefactors of the territory of Hector. You not only rescued the people who were kidnapped by bandits, but also successfully brought back the stolen grain. Wouldn’t it be too impolite of me to ask for any additional reward?”
"So you don't need to worry about it. You can stay as long as you want."
Sir Hector had a very serious expression, as if to say, "If you want to give me money, I'll fight you."
"Father,"
Kay went back into the living room and whispered in Sir Hector's ear.
Sir Hector's expression darkened, and when he looked at Yoshikage Kira and his companion again, he said apologetically:
"Excuse me, I'll leave you here for a moment. I'll have the maid tidy up the room. If you have any other requests, please feel free to ask the maids, and they will do everything they can to accommodate you."
Sir Hector strode out of the living room, with Kay following closely behind.
Vivian said softly:
"He wasn't really welcoming to us."
Yoshikage Kira looked surprised:
"I thought you wouldn't notice."
"I'm a fairy!"
Vivian glared at him angrily, "Do you think I'm an idiot?"
Yoshikage Kira shrugged:
"Then why did you suggest staying here? Just out of curiosity?"
If you can tell that others don't welcome you, why would you still stay? What else is that but being a fool?
"Some of them."
Vivian gently stroked the silver-haired girl's smooth long hair and said softly, "I'm curious why that girl looks like me, but more importantly, it's because of this child. She doesn't understand anything yet, and it would be very inconvenient to travel with her, right? So, I hope to find a place to settle down and at least teach her how to survive."
Kira Yoshikage gazed silently at the girl whose eyes radiated the soft light of their home planet, and asked softly:
"Why do this?"
"Huh? Do I need a reason?"
Vivian tilted her head in confusion. "If you ask why, it's probably because that's how everyone takes care of me."
"Everyone?"
