Sirius fell silent. Indeed, looking back at the foolish things he did in his student days with his current perspective, he couldn't help but feel that he had acted absurdly.
“Let’s go in then, but I have to tell you beforehand that Kreacher doesn’t like me, and he might not listen to my orders,” Sirius said helplessly.
“It’s okay, maybe he’ll listen to me?” Su Yu shrugged and followed Sirius into the house.
As soon as Su Yu entered the door, he heard a scream: "Ah! Sirius, you bastard, get out! What are you doing here? You've been expelled from the family!"
“You bastard, you filthy beast, how dare you bring your shady friends into our Black family ancestral home! Get out, get out…”
"Transfiguration!" Sirius frantically pulled out his wand, cast a Transfiguration spell, and turned a handkerchief into a blanket, which he then placed over the painting.
"I'm sorry!" Sirius looked at Su Yu somewhat awkwardly. "My mother, Walbug Black, has been in a somewhat unstable mental state since my father and brother passed away..."
Normally, Su Yu would have made a sarcastic remark, but today he needed someone's help, so he didn't say much. He simply nodded and followed Sirius Black inside.
"Kreacher, come out!" Sirius looked around and, not finding his house-elves, called out.
A moment later, Su Yu heard a soft whisper coming from upstairs: "Young Master Regulus is dead. The despicable blood traitor has returned. He has seized the Black family's property. If Mistress Walbuga finds out, she will be furious."
“Kreacher doesn’t want to talk to a despicable traitor, but he has no choice. The traitor is the family’s only heir, and Kreacher has to listen to him.”
The muttering grew louder and louder, and a very old house-elf came down from upstairs. He was bald, had bat ears, bloodshot gray eyes, a pig nose, and was only wrapped in a tattered cloth.
When he reached the two men, Kreacher bowed to Sirius and said, "You're back, Sirius. What are your orders?"
He spoke with great respect, but his expression was one of utter disgust; he didn't even want to look Sirius in the eye.
Sirius's forehead veins were throbbing. He had lost face in front of his nemesis Su Yu today, so he said angrily, "Kreacher, did my stupid brother let you hide something? Hand it over."
"No, no! Young Master Regulus didn't give me anything!" Kreacher screamed, taking a few steps back and banging his head against the stair railing as he spoke.
Chapter 165 The Third Soul Weapon
Kreacher never imagined that this despicable traitor would know what Master Regulus had entrusted to him before his death.
"He wants to take away Master Regulus's belongings. No, absolutely not! Even if Kreacher is killed, we cannot let anyone take away Master Regulus's belongings!" Kreacher thought to himself as he slammed his head against the stair railing.
"Alright, stop, Kreacher. Obey orders and hand over what Regulus left behind!" Sirius roared again.
Unfortunately, his roar was of no use. Kreacher continued to punish himself. In the values of house-elves, disobedience should be punished, and punishment can be disobedience.
Su Yu quickly grabbed Sirius, gave him a reassuring look, stepped forward, squatted down, and said, "Kreacher, do you remember the orders Regulus gave you before he died?"
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Kreacher stopped what he was doing and muttered to himself, "Master Regulus gave Kreacher a task, but Kreacher failed to complete it. Kreacher is a useless house-elf."
As Kreacher was about to punish himself again, Su Yu quickly said, "Alright, Kreacher, perhaps we should bring Regulus's body back first and bury him in the Black family cemetery."
"Do you know where my little brother died?" This time it was Sirius who spoke, and he seemed very agitated. He didn't like that brother, that stupid brother, but he was still his brother.
Su Yu shrugged: "I don't know, but Kreacher should know."
After they finished speaking, they both looked at Kreacher. Kreacher was in a dilemma. Before his death, Master Regulus had asked him to keep the secret, but he also hoped to bring the master back.
“Kreacher! Do you know where Regulus’s body is?” Sirius asked.
In the end, Kreacher nodded. Although Lord Regulus had asked him to keep it a secret, Sirius was now his master. This showed that the principles of keeping house-elves were actually quite flexible.
"Take us there now!" Sirius commanded.
Kreacher timidly stepped forward and straightened Sirius and Su Yu's hands. The next moment, spacetime distorted, and the two felt dizzy. The next moment, they found themselves in a cave.
The cave was very large, even larger than Su Yu had imagined. They stood on a platform with a stone platform in the center containing a pool of silvery-white water. In front of them was a lake.
Kreacher was breathing heavily; teleporting such a long distance in one go was quite strenuous for him. Sirius, meanwhile, looked around and asked, "Where is this?"
Su Yu said, "This is where Voldemort hid his Horcruxes. Back then, Voldemort borrowed Kreacher from Regulus and had Kreacher bring him here, where he hid one of his Horcruxes."
"Regulus learned about this from Kreacher, he understood Voldemort's evil, and he came to his senses, so he decided to destroy the Horcrux."
"But Voldemort hid the Horcrux very cleverly. See that stone platform? Someone needs to drink all the poison in that stone platform to retrieve the Horcrux."
"Regulus did it. He took out his Horcrux, and just as he was about to drink some water by the pool, Voldemort's Inferi, which he had prepared in the water beforehand, dragged him into the cold lake."
“Kreacher, is that right?” Sirius asked incredulously.
Kreacher didn't speak, but simply nodded silently, as if recalling that day, the day Young Master Regulus left.
Sirius Black, having received confirmation, turned around, pulled out his wand, and pointed it sharply at Su Yu: "How did you know about this? Are you Voldemort's accomplice?"
Looking at Sirius's bloodshot eyes, Su Yu raised his hands in surrender and said, "Sirius, use your brain. How could I possibly be Voldemort's accomplice? I destroyed Voldemort's first Horcrux, okay?"
"But how do you know so much about this?" Sirius continued to question.
Having anticipated this question, Su Yu said, "Ever since we learned about Horcruxes, Dumbledore and I have been searching for Voldemort's Horcruxes separately, until I learned about your brother from Avery."
“Avery told me that Voldemort once borrowed a house-elf from your brother, and that your brother died shortly afterward, which is why I have this suspicion.”
Sirius didn't completely believe Su Yu's explanation, but the fact remained that Su Yu had destroyed Voldemort's Horcrux, and the wand in his hand gradually drooped.
He had always believed that his foolish brother was a radical pureblood and a brainless worshipper of Voldemort.
But he never expected that his younger brother would sacrifice himself to destroy Voldemort's Horcruxes. He remembered what Su Yu had said before: Who doesn't make mistakes when they're young?
Moreover, Regulus was merely limited by his understanding and blinded by Voldemort's empty promises, while his brother had never tried to guide him, only constantly scolding him.
"Regulus, where is he now?" Sirius put away his wand and plopped down on the ground.
Kreacher pointed to the lake in front of him: "Young Master Regulus was dragged into the lake by those Infernals."
Sirius looked up, his gaze fixed firmly on the lake before him. He stood up and took a step toward rushing into the lake, but Su Yu quickly called out to him, "Sirius, what are you going to do?"
"I'm taking Regulus home!" Sirius declared firmly.
"Are you planning to just go straight into the lake? Do you know how deep this lake is? Do you know how many Yin Corpses are in it? Why are you always so impulsive?" Su Yu said helplessly.
Sirius turned to look at Su Yu, tears welling in his eyes, and said with a choked voice, "I can't let Regulus lie here alone in this cold lake. I have to take him home."
“If you touch this lake, you will activate the defensive runes left by Voldemort, and the infernals in the water will attack us. Your current actions will not only fail to bring Regulus back, but may also put us in danger,” Su Yu said, pointing to the lake.
"Then what do you suggest we do?" Sirius shouted.
Su Yu's lips curled into a slight smile. "I'm about to start showing off: Since I brought you here, I naturally made preparations long ago."
After speaking, Su Yu patted the badge on his chest, and three silver metal crows flew out. They merged and grew larger in the air, eventually becoming a giant crow with a wingspan of about two meters.
The crow flew above the lake, turned around, and swooped down onto the water. During its descent, the crow continued to transform, turning into a large fish before entering the water.
Chapter 166 Return to School (Part 1)
Su Yu took out his magic phone from his pocket. After the metal fish entered the lake, its eyes shone like flashlights, and everything it saw was transmitted back to Su Yu's phone exactly as it appeared.
"What are you doing?" Sirius leaned closer, watching Su Yu's hands operate on the phone.
“We’ll use this underwater detection tool to find Regulus first, then drag him back. You come and watch; I don’t know your brother.” Su Yu let the metal fish swim in the water on its own.
They soon discovered the first corpse, which was in standby mode with its eyes closed because its biosensors had not been triggered.
Once it was confirmed that it wasn't Regulus, the metal fish began swimming erratically again. Following the program set by Su Yu, the metal fish would start from the bottom of the lake and explore upwards in circles.
The process was long and boring. Su Yu tossed his phone to Sirius and took out a spare phone to chat with Tonks.
About an hour later, Sirius excitedly said, "Found him, Su Yu, come quick, I found Regulus!"
Su Yu quickly put away the backup phone and went to Sirius Black. The screen also showed a corpse, pale-faced and with a hard face to make out. The only difference was the clothes he was wearing.
It was a magnificent wizard's robe, and even after more than a decade, it was still not torn or faded from being soaked in water.
"Are you sure?" Su Yu asked.
Sirius nodded: "I'm sure, this outfit is Regulus's style, and that mole on his lip, it's definitely him, there's no mistake. What do we do next?"
"Alright, let me do it!" Su Yu snatched back the phone and used the buttons on it to channel magic into the metal fish. A ribbon extended from each of the metal fish's gills, tightly binding the corpse in front of it.
Just as the ribbon wrapped around Regulus, his eyes snapped open—the eyes of a lifeless, pure black corpse.
Regulus tried to grab the metallic fish in front of him, but he was already entangled and unable to break free. So he tilted his head back and let out a hysterical roar.
Of course, Su Yu and the other two couldn't hear the sound, but judging from the actions in the scene, he must have been very angry. The next moment, Su Yu saw several figures approaching Regulus in the distance.
"Oh no, the Yin Corpse in the lake has been activated!" Su Yu frowned and quickly controlled the metal fish to return to shore.
However, the Yin Corpses in the water are very fast and there are a huge number of them. The metal fish just detected hundreds of them below, and if you add the ones above, it would not be an exaggeration to say that there are thousands of Yin Corpses.
"What do we do now?" Sirius asked, watching the countless undead approach his brother. He was terrified that they would damage his brother's body.
"Don't worry!" Su Yu reassured him. "Sirius, prepare the Explosion Spell. Once those Infernals come ashore, blast them all apart. Kreacher, prepare Apparition. Once we rescue Regulus, we'll leave immediately."
“Okay!” Sirius and Kreacher said at the same time. At this moment, they could no longer care about their previous conflict. One was for the sake of the young master, and the other was for the sake of his younger brother.
Su Yu continued to output magic power, and the tail of the metal fish directly transformed into a propeller, greatly increasing its upward speed.
"Get ready, three... two... one!" As Su Yu shouted the number 1, the metal fish carrying Regulus's corpse leaped out of the water!
Su Yu waved his wand, and the metal fish transformed again in mid-air. Its abdomen opened, taking in Regulus's corpse, while its true form transformed into a giant raven, spreading its wings and flying towards Su Yu and the other two.
Beneath the raven, hundreds of other undead also leaped out, stretching out their withered arms, trying to grab the raven and pull it back into the water.
"Thunderous Explosion!" Sirius was prepared and unleashed an explosive spell, blasting the wraiths that had leaped out of the water into pieces.
The raven, carrying a corpse in its belly, was clearly struggling. It flapped its wings and flew over. Su Yu and Sirius each stretched out a hand and grabbed the raven's claws.
Kreacher then leaped high into the air, grabbing Su Yu and Sirius's trouser legs at the same time. He then used Apparition to take the three of them and the raven away from the cave.
Whew, back at the Black family home, the three of them breathed a sigh of relief. If they had been surrounded by thousands of Yin Corpses in that cave, it would have been a very troublesome situation.
……
In the Black family cemetery, the three had already buried Regulus's body, and Su Yu then steered the conversation back to the topic of Soul Weapons:
"Kreacher, can you now take out what Regulus gave you?"
Kreacher hesitated for a moment, then stroked Regulus's tombstone and said, "The young master asked me to destroy that thing, but I couldn't do it. I tried many methods, but all failed."
As he spoke, Kreacher looked up at Su Yu again and said, "You saved Young Master Regulus's body; you are a benefactor of the Black family. Kreacher is willing to give that thing to you, but you must promise me that you will fulfill Young Master's last wish and destroy it!"
“I’ve come here to destroy it, you can rest assured about that,” Su Yu assured Kreacher.
“Okay, come with me!” With that, Kreacher led Su Yu to Regulus’s bedroom and took out the Slytherin locket from a hidden compartment under his bed.
Su Yu immediately sensed the evil aura emanating from the pendant box. Sirius tried to reach for it, but Su Yu quickly stopped him, saying, "Don't touch that thing; it will affect your mind."
Sirius paused for a moment and said, "But isn't Kreacher holding it right now?"
“The souls of house-elves are different from ours, so its influence on Kreacher is very weak. But if it were you, it would be different.” As he spoke, Su Yu took out a wooden box, waved his wand lightly, and the item fell into the box.
