"How long have I been asleep?"
"A little over an hour," Yuko Takanashi said, glancing at the clock on the wall and looking down.
It turns out so much time has passed; no wonder my hands feel a little tired from massaging.
"You slept for so long. Even though I stayed up late last night, I already slept in today," Shiraishi Sawa said with a helpless smile.
"You can sleep some more, it's fine if you sleep until night," Takanashi Yuko said softly.
"Then your thighs will go numb from lying down for a while." Shiraishi Sawah propped himself up and leaned back on the sofa. "Takanashi, do you know the dangers of staying up all night?"
"Your legs won't go numb. Shiraishi can lie down anytime he wants. What are the dangers of staying up late?" Takanashi Yuuko moved closer to Shiraishi Sawa, asking as she did so.
"People who frequently stay up late will experience the following nine things: First, hallucinations; second, poor memory; fourth, inability to count; and sixth, mental confusion. You must remember these nine points."
"Okay, Shiraishi, are you feeling better now?" Seeing that Shiraishi Sawa was finally joking around as usual, Takanashi Yuuko smiled and nodded, asking.
"Is it much better now? After all, life has to go on, right?" Shiraishi Zexiu said, looking at Mimi lying on her back in the corner.
"Then I need to rest." After saying that, Takanashi Yuuko turned to face Shiraishi Sawa, lay on her side on his lap, grabbed one of Shiraishi Sawa's hands, interlocked her fingers and placed them on her chest, between her breasts.
"I'm so tired from the massage."
"Take a rest." Shiraishi Sawa didn't pull his hand away or move it. With his other free hand, he stroked Takanashi Yuuko's silky black hair, leaned his head back in the chair, and looked at the empty ceiling.
Yuuko deliberately moved her head, sensing the change in the area.
"Change your position, or I won't let you lie down."
--
"I'm going to cook, Shiraishi." When it was time to cook dinner, Takanashi Yuuko finally got up reluctantly and went to the kitchen.
Shiraishi Sawah shifted his gaze from Takanashi Yuko's retreating figure to the table, where a box lay quietly containing two bracelets and a necklace.
Shiraishi Zexiu took out the necklace from inside; it was fragile and already had several cracks.
He took out a piece of paper, wrapped it up, and pressed it down hard, making a cracking sound.
Among the opaque fragments of beads, a miniature, rolled-up strip of paper lay.
Carefully peel it open, and on it, in delicate and familiar handwriting, it says: I am Bored, but I can't be Bored, and I'm very distressed.
"Although they can be connected, no matter how you look at it, the personalities of the 'two' people are completely different."
Putting the note in his pocket, Shiraishi Sawa entered the room where the two were sleeping. He looked at the treasure box on the bedside table and typed "like".
"I like you." Chiyo's voice came from the chibi version of Chiyo that popped up from the top.
That was the final straw that led him to make his decision that night.
But now, the camel has come back to life, and is even stronger than before. This doesn't seem like a good thing for Shiraishi Zexiu, who is caught between the straw and the camel's back.
Shiraishi Sawa remembered the message he had sent halfway through at noon and quickly picked up his phone.
I opened Line, and the screen was still in the group chat interface. The word "sorry" lay quietly in the input box.
"I'm sorry," he whispered to the void.
In the group chat, there have been only three replies to Shiraishi Sawa's statement, "I've made my decision."
"What?" It's 1:17 in the morning.
"Okay." Suwo Wulian, 1:17.
"What decision did you make? Why is it taking so long?" It was 3:53 AM when I entered Chiyo.
Shiraishi Sawah deleted the word 'sorry' and resent it:
"I've decided not to stay up late tonight because I've discovered the dangers of staying up late..." Shiraishi Sawa, 4:58 AM.
"Crazy." It's 4:58 AM.
The rain hasn't stopped, and it looks like it won't stop for a long time.
Or perhaps, it will stop this weekend, or tomorrow.
Who knows about the weather?
--
From the moment she received the message in the afternoon, Chiyo lay on the bed with the "Shiraishi Treasure Box" in her arms, sometimes spacing out, sometimes listening to a song sung by Shiraishi Sawa Hide that was barely listenable.
But it's actually quite beautiful. Whenever I think of Chiyo as someone who sings this song specifically for me, I feel that way.
Around four o'clock, I felt a little scared when I entered Chiyo.
Has Shiraishi Sawa already made his choice? Is he already the one who lost?
After a long wait, his message finally appeared in the group chat as the afternoon was drawing to a close.
"Neuropathy."
Chiyo collapsed onto the bed, pressed the button on top of the [Shiraishi Treasure Box], and saw the doll symbolizing Shiraishi Sawa appear. She wanted to slap him, but couldn't bear to, so she could only press his head with her slender, white fingers.
"I'm not happy."
“I’m an idiot! I’m an idiot! I’m an idiot!” said ’Shiraishi Sawa Hide’.
"You really are an idiot."
--
Suwo Wulian looked at the new messages in the group chat, but she didn't reply.
She switched to her chat history with Shimizu Yoshiko and read it again, word by word.
"In the first choice, Soga Kirei lost."
How can we win a second time?

On the last day of October, the 31st, a Sunday, the rain was light but persistent, evenly staining every exposed patch of land, house, and tree.
The rustling sound of raindrops hitting the leaves or falling leaves permeates the city of Tokyo.
Hearing the howling wind, Shiraishi Sawa carefully investigated to find which window was not closed properly.
They quickly found the window sill, which was already damp in one corner, and closed it off, restoring quiet to the apartment.
"I never like rainy days," Shiraishi Sawa said to Takanashi Yuuko, who was sitting on the sofa knitting clothes for Mimi, while wiping the window.
"Unless it's when I'm not planning to go out, but instead preparing to put on my headphones and play games." After thinking for a moment, Shiraishi Sawa added this sentence.
"The problems with rainy days are too numerous to list. Clothes won't dry, and you can't go out. Plus, time gets completely messed up. The gloom of early morning is closer to dusk, and you can't tell the time by looking outside when you wake up in the morning."
“I’ll hate rainy days with Shiraishi, but please let me know if Shiraishi ever changes his mind,” Takanashi Yuko said in response to Shiraishi Sawah’s complaints.
"Takanashi, you're love-struck, no, you're lover-struck," Shiraishi Sawa said as he finished wiping the rag and tossed it into the bathroom.
"This is the brain I will use for the rest of my life."
"Shiraishi, could you come to the DOUTOR café in Ginza this afternoon? I have something I'd like to discuss with you."
While sitting on the sofa playing on his phone, Shiraishi Sawa received a message from Soga Kirei.
"what's up?"
I want to tell you this in person.
"Okay, when?" His body paused for a few seconds, as if the world itself was also frozen, before Shiraishi Sawah agreed.
The things I deliberately avoided thinking about have fallen back on my shoulders.
"Arriving at 3 PM is fine."
"Okay, I'll get there as soon as possible."
Shiraishi Sawa closed his eyes and began a long inhalation and exhalation.
What will we talk about this afternoon? Will it be about liking things, choices, or just boredom?
Escaping is shameful but useful, but for Shiraishi Sawa, escaping is more like torture now.
"Are you going out again?" Takanashi Yuko asked, looking at Shiraishi Sawa, who had changed out of his pajamas.
"Yes, the president wants to see me." Shiraishi Sawa said, putting on his baseball jacket.
"Go for it, Shiraishi!" Takanashi Yuko made a gesture of encouragement to Shiraishi Sawa.
"Come on, what's there to cheer up for?" Shiraishi Zexiu said with a hint of helplessness. "I hope I can come back mentally healthy."
"I can learn how to do psychological counseling."
"Thanks." Shiraishi Sawah pushed open the door, waved goodbye to Takanashi Yuuko, and took the umbrella that was placed outside the door—the neighbors were close, so there was no need to worry about it being stolen, and in order to prevent water from dripping into the room, he simply left it outside the door.
It's only noon now, and there's still a long way to go before 3 p.m., but Shiraishi Sawa still chose to go out at this time.
The downsides of rainy days go far beyond what I've already mentioned. The subway platform is covered with black footprints from the rain, and pedestrians splash water in both directions as they pass by.
These things undoubtedly made Shiraishi Sawah even more irritable.
At 12:30, Shiraishi Sawa arrived at DOUTOR Cafe in Ginza. Because of the rain, there were fewer people in Ginza. The place, which should have been packed on the weekend, now had four or five empty tables.
Shiraishi Sawa ordered a latte, sat by the window, and watched "God's Children Are Dancing" on display in the store, occasionally staring blankly at the pedestrians with umbrellas passing by outside the window.
Time passed, and I declined several attempts to strike up a conversation. I turned the pages of the book from the first to the fourth page, and I didn't drink a drop of coffee. It was already 2:30.
Shiraishi Sawa took out his phone and sent a message to Soga Kirei: "I've arrived and got a window seat."
"Okay, please wait a moment."
Putting down his phone, Shiraishi Sawah turned the page from the fourth to the fifth.
--
A familiar face walked in, but it wasn't Soga Kirei, whom Shiraishi Sawa had anticipated.
Upon entering, Chiyo folded her umbrella at the door, shook off the rainwater, and then placed it in the storage area. Her elegant movements, combined with her perfect appearance, instantly made her the focus of everyone's attention in the store.
Several men who came with female companions were kicked or punched as a result.
It seems there's no escaping it now; this is clearly an ultimatum.
