She raised her hand and loosened her long hair, the silvery-white strands cascading down like a waterfall, shimmering faintly in the moonlight.
"That's just a way of saying hello."
She said, casually running her fingers through her long hair, "Where we come from, it's a sign of friendliness."
"Do you say whispering in someone's ear is a sign of friendship where you're from?"
"Hmm~"
Bai Yu glanced at her but didn't continue the conversation.
He lifted the covers, lay down, and closed his eyes.
Mirajane stood there, watching him prepare to sleep, her brows furrowing slightly. She looked down at the ground, then at the bed, and finally her gaze fell on Bai Yu.
He just fell asleep like that?
Not planning to say anything more?
I don't intend to explain what just happened...
I don't plan to...do anything to her?
Mirajane bit her lip, slowly squatted down, and sat on the ground.
The floor was hard, and the coolness seeped into her skin through her dress, making her shiver involuntarily. She looked around; the room was quite large, but simply furnished, with nothing but a huge bed, a table, a few chairs, and a bookshelf.
There weren't even any extra blankets.
Mirajane sighed, curled her legs up, and wrapped her arms around her knees.
Her long, silvery-white hair cascaded over her shoulders, and the moonlight outlined a soft curve in her profile. She gazed at the moon outside the window, her eyes gradually becoming distant.
"Mr. Bai Yu."
She suddenly spoke, her voice very soft: "Are you asleep?"
There was a few seconds of silence.
"No."
Mirajane turned his head slightly and looked at Bai Yu on the bed through his loose hair. He was lying flat on his back with his hands folded over his abdomen, breathing steadily, and his eyes were closed, but he was obviously not asleep.
"I can't sleep."
"The floor is too hard."
That's your problem.
Mirajane took a deep breath and resisted the urge to throw the shoe at him.
She had seen indifferent people, arrogant people, and cruel people, but she had never seen anyone like this... someone who would throw a beautiful woman on the ground and then sleep soundly without a care in the world.
Aren't you going to ask about my past?
Mirajane changed tactics: "There must be a reason why you summoned me, right?"
Bai Yu opened his eyes, his scarlet pupils glowing slightly in the moonlight. He turned his head and looked at Mirajane sitting on the ground.
"Say what you want to say."
Mirajane met his gaze for a few seconds, then looked away and looked up at the moon outside the window.
"You know, I used to be a terrible person."
She began, her voice calm, as if she were telling someone else's story: "They called me 'The Demon' Mirajane. Back then, I was bloodthirsty, cruel, and insane. Whenever I received a mission, I would tear my enemies to shreds."
Bai Yu remained silent, listening quietly.
"I have a younger brother and a younger sister."
Mirajane continued, a gentle smile playing on her lips: "Elfman, Lisanna, we are siblings who depend on each other for survival. In Fairy Tail, we lived together, fought together, laughed together, and cried together."
Her voice trembled slightly.
"Then, Lisanna died."
Bai Yu's eyes narrowed slightly.
“Back then, we took on a mission and encountered a very powerful magical beast… Lisanna just vanished in the light, and I couldn’t even find her body.”
Mirajane buried her face in her knees, her long, silvery-white hair obscuring her expression.
“I changed after that. I stopped using magic. I felt that it was because of my power and my cruelty that I killed Lisanna. I felt that I didn’t deserve to be a sister, and I didn’t deserve to be in Fairy Tail.”
The room remained quiet for a long time.
"And then?" Bai Yu asked.
Mirajane looked up at Bai Yu and smiled.
“Later I found out that Lisanna didn’t die,” she said, her voice trembling slightly. “She was sent to another world, lived there for two years, and then she came back.”
Mirajah spoke, a glint in his eyes, but a smile still played on his lips.
"Elfman, Lisanna, the three of us are together again. Elfman has overcome his inner demons, and Lisanna has become stronger. We have become family again, real family."
She took a deep breath, tilted her head back, and let the moonlight fall on her face.
"So, Mr. Baiyu."
She turned her head and looked at Bai Yu, her eyes clear and bright: "My wish has been fulfilled. Lisanna is back, Elfman has become stronger, Fairy Tail is still Fairy Tail, and I have nothing to worry about anymore."
Bai Yu looked at her and remained silent for a few seconds.
"So that's why you accepted my summons so easily?"
Mirajane tilted her head and thought for a moment.
"probably."
She said, "And your power is strange, it makes me... want to be close to you. Not in a controlling way, but..."
She paused, seemingly considering her words.
"Instead, I instinctively felt that all I needed to do was follow you and accept you."
Bai Yu sat up in bed. The moonlight shone on his face, revealing that his crimson Sharingan eyes had disappeared, replaced by ordinary black pupils.
She looked down at her hands.
"If I had been stronger and more in control back then, I might have been able to protect them instead of praying for fate to work its magic."
Bai Yu got off the bed, walked to her, squatted down, and looked her in the eye.
"Haven't you already let it go?"
Mirajane looked up at Bai Yu, who was so close to her.
The moonlight outlined his profile, making his features sharp and distinct. His dark eyes were like a bottomless pool, calm and profound.
“Yes,” she said softly.
The room fell silent again, with only the sound of their breathing and the waves crashing against the boat.
Moonlight streamed through the window, enveloping the two people in a silvery-white halo.
Mirajane looked into Bai Yu's eyes, and her heart inexplicably began to race.
She could smell his scent, faint, like a mixture of ocean and sunshine.
She could feel the warmth of his breath as it gently brushed against her cheek.
She suddenly realized that the distance between her and him was very close.
She was so close that if she leaned forward even slightly, she could touch his lips.
Mirajane was taken aback.
It's not that she's never met a man before, or that she's never been pursued by someone.
In Fairy Tail, in bars, and during missions, there were always people casting admiring glances at her.
But she was never moved, never.
In her eyes, those people were either too weak, too fake, or too boring.
But the man in front of me is different.
He was strong, he was very real, so real that he threw her on the ground and then went to sleep without a care in the world.
He was so interesting that she wanted to tear away his cold exterior to see what was hidden inside.
Mirajane reached out, her slender fingers gently touching Bai Yu's cheek.
Bai Yu neither moved nor dodged.
Mirajane's fingertips slid from his cheek to his chin, then to his neck, and finally to his collarbone. She felt the warmth of his skin, the throbbing of his pulse, and the texture of his muscles.
"Mr. Bai Yu."
Her voice became very low, with a dangerous yet seductive huskiness: "Do you like me?"
Bai Yu looked at her with a deep gaze.
"Are you drinking too much?"
Mirajane said, his fingers pausing at the collar of his shirt, gently and slowly unbuttoning the first button: "I'm perfectly sober, as sober as I can be."
The second button.
"I know what I'm doing."
The third button.
"And I know what I want."
With all the buttons of his shirt undone, Mirajane placed his palm on Bai Yu's chest. Beneath his palm, muscles were firm and hot, and his heartbeat was steady and powerful.
Her fingers slid slowly, feeling the contours of every muscle, from the chest muscles to the abdominal muscles, and then to the waist, every inch full of masculine strength and beauty.
"Your figure... is really great."
She murmured, her eyes welling up with a misty haze, her voice sounding as if squeezed from the depths of her throat, carrying an irrepressible longing.
Bai Yu looked down at her hand roaming across his chest, then looked up into her eyes. In those eyes, a flame burned.
“Miraj,” his voice was hoarse, “do you know the consequences of doing this?”
