Listening to John Garratt's expectations of him, Holm nodded and said, "I will definitely use my abilities to try my best to infiltrate the core of S.H.I.E.L.D."

"However, being in a special team makes it less convenient for us to operate. If the organization has any missions for me, I'll have to use more covert methods..."

Hearing Holm's words, John Garratt waved his hand and said, "You don't need to worry about that. As I just said, your most important task at this stage is to infiltrate the core of S.H.I.E.L.D., so the organization generally won't assign you missions."

"If there is any particularly urgent task or task that you need to complete, it will certainly not affect your normal operations."

Holm nodded upon hearing this, feeling a sense of relief.

It seems Hydra still has some sense of propriety. He was afraid that even though he had joined the special team, Hydra would still assign him tasks as usual, keeping him constantly on the go. Now, with John Garratt's promise, he can rest assured.

Based on the current situation, joining the special team is entirely beneficial. He can not only gain deeper access to the upper echelons of S.H.I.E.L.D., but also get rid of some meaningless missions from Hydra and reduce the risk of his exposure.

Now, whether he's with Hydra or S.H.I.E.L.D., his future looks bright.

After saying this, John Garratt took out a stack of papers from the box next to him, with a stiff card sandwiched in the middle, dividing the stack into two parts.

"These are some personnel information. The first part is the list and information of the agents that Grant Ward previously contacted, and the second part is the agents that have not yet been activated."

John Garratt handed the papers to Holm as he continued, “You’re in charge of connecting these lines now. Find time to connect with and screen the people ahead of you. If there are any die-hard Grant Ward supporters, deal with them yourself, and remember to do it cleanly.”

"You can also select your favorite agents from the silent agents behind you and activate them to form your own team."

"However, given your mysterious identity, you should try to conceal your identity and not reveal your true face when you come into contact with them."

"These people are there to help you complete tasks and handle things. If any problems arise later, remember to prioritize protecting your own identity. If you need to abandon these people, then abandon them."

As Holm listened to John Garratt's words, he nodded as he flipped through the documents in his hands.

Sure enough, his treatment changed after he demonstrated his unique value. In the past, he was just one of the files in the stack of documents in his hand, one of Grant Ward's tools, and could be discarded at any time.

Now that his status has changed, he has become someone who can manipulate tools.

Holm sighed inwardly at the changing times, while also reminding himself to stay vigilant.

Although his status has risen, in the eyes of Hydra's higher-ups, he is still just a tool that can be discarded at any time. The only difference is that compared to others, his tool is sharper and more useful.

"Thank you for the organization's trust and support. I will definitely complete my mission well..."

While expressing his loyalty, Holm, as usual, burned the documents he had finished reading and threw them into the trash can next to him. He would have to clean the trash can later and flush the ashes down the toilet.

After becoming a secret agent, the most important thing is to keep all the secrets in your mind. You can't be careless or reveal any flaws or traces, because once something is discovered, you will pay with your life.

John Gallo nodded in response to Holm's words, and regardless of how much of it was true or false, his attitude alone pleased him.

Because Holm's words contained a humility and fear that the student who had once made him proud would never have.

There was a time when Grant Ward treated him with utmost respect, but as Grant Ward's status rose and his abilities became more apparent, the respect that had been there for him gradually disappeared.

Thinking about all this, John Garratt's disappointment and resentment intensified. Although he had betrayed many people in his life, he still could not accept being betrayed by others.

A strange emotion flashed by, and John Garratt looked at Holm and said, "By the way, if we're going to hide our identities, we need code names."

"From this moment forward, Holm Clint is no longer part of Hydra; his name belongs only to S.H.I.E.L.D."

"From now on, your code name in Hydra will be Viper."

"Agent, Viper."

Chapter 65, Training and New Missions

“Your punches are too weak. They’re just tickling the enemy. Watch closely, they should be at least like this.” Holm instructed Daisy beside him, while simultaneously knocking over the dummy in front of him with a single punch.

Seeing the dummy, who had the property of never falling, being knocked down by Holm's punch, Daisy was speechless for a moment. She wiped the sweat from her forehead, then lay down on the chair next to her with a sigh, as if giving up.

I wonder if Phil Coulson even knows how big the gap is between them. It's like asking an elephant to teach an ant how to uproot a tree. The key issue isn't the method, but the physical condition.

"Even if I threw myself out like a cannonball, I couldn't achieve that effect. It's all a difference in physical constitution, sigh~" Daisy sighed with great melancholy.

Seeing Daisy's expression, Holm also sighed and sat down in a chair.

To be honest, he wasn't very good at teaching people, and he was also having a headache over the task that Phil Coulson had given him.

The same technique turned out completely differently in his hands and Daisy's hands, and he didn't know what to do.

Should we borrow the techniques Grant Ward used when training him? But while those techniques are useful, they are indeed somewhat perverse to implement, and only Hydra could do such things.

If he uses these methods to train Daisy, it's tantamount to exposing himself. It's a systematic, inhuman training method that's different from normal training. Isn't that just telling others that he has a problem?

"I'm sorry, I'm really not good at teaching. It's really too difficult for you to become like me," Holm said sincerely, reflecting on his actions.

"However, the techniques I mentioned are indeed correct, they are exactly as they are. You just need to use them according to your physical condition."

Hearing Holm's words, Daisy also said with a bitter face, "Combat training is really too hard. These past few days have probably been the most physically demanding time of my life."

Looking at Daisy's current bitter face, Holm couldn't help but think of how happy Daisy was a few days ago when Phil Coulson had just given her this task.

She was as happy then as she is now.

"Haven't you always aspired to be a top agent? You can't be an ace agent if your combat skills aren't up to par," Holm said with a smile, looking at Daisy.

Sensing the sarcasm in Holm's tone, Daisy glared at him angrily, then muttered to herself as if to comfort herself, "I'm a top agent now, I'm a top hacker!"

"That only qualifies you as a top-tier hacker, not a top-notch agent." Holm ruthlessly exposed her self-comfort: "For an agent, combat skills are the most important foundation."

"A top agent can lack computer skills, but their hands-on abilities absolutely cannot be lacking, understand, my dear top hacker?"

Faced with Holm's penetrating blade, Daisy immediately closed her eyes and pretended to be an ostrich, as if she wouldn't be hurt as long as she couldn't see Holm speak.

Seeing Daisy's expression, Holm stopped teasing her and, after thinking for a moment, said with a slightly serious tone, "Actually, you don't need to be discouraged. You do learn very quickly. Just practice more in the future."

“My method is indeed not suitable for you. You just need to practice these combat skills at your own pace.”

"After all, just as you said, hacking skills are your most important ability; combat techniques and training are only to give you the ability to protect yourself..."

Before Holm could finish speaking, Daisy suddenly sat up, clenched her fists, and encouraged herself, "I can do it! Whether it's combat or computer technology, I will be the best!"

Seeing that Daisy was still full of fighting spirit after adjusting her mindset, Holm smiled and then pulled her up from her seat, saying, "It's good that you have confidence. Let's continue training now."

"Come on! I'm the best!" Daisy stood in front of the mannequin again, cheering herself on while throwing a punch.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" A series of muffled thuds rang out again, and Holm, just like before, corrected some of Daisy's movements.

Half an hour later, Daisy, covered in sweat, finished this phase of training and went to wash up and change her clothes.

Holm also took a shower, changed his clothes, and then sat down in the base's rest area.

This base is located underground in a forest in the suburbs of New York. It seems that S.H.I.E.L.D. carried out some important missions here before, but it is now abandoned.

After Phil Kelsen established his special team, he used this place as their base.

"DiDi Di Di Di Di Di Di Di Di!"

The ringing of the phone interrupted Holm's thoughts. He looked at the caller ID showing "Commander Coulson," cleared his throat, and answered the call.

"Agent Clint, how's the new base?" Phil Coulson's voice came from the other end of the phone.

Holm responded, "Very good, everything is complete. Daisy and I just finished a combat training session."

Upon hearing Holm's response, Philin Coulson continued, "Well done. As an agent, combat skills are still very important. I hope you can help Daisy grow quickly."

“Understood, I will do my best to teach her,” Holm promised.

After the initial greetings and pleasantries, Philin Coulson continued to Holm in a somewhat serious tone: "Now there is a mission for you to complete. I will send you the location and specific mission information."

"You two set off immediately. There are airplanes in the base's warehouse; you can take one there."

Hearing that the important matter had finally arrived, Holm solemnly replied, "Understood. We will depart immediately and guarantee the completion of the mission."

“You must perform well. This is your first mission after entering level 7, understand?” Phil Coulson reminded Holm.

As he spoke, his tone softened, reminding Holm of the smile that was always on his face.

"Understood, I will certainly not let you down, sir..." Holm solemnly promised again after hearing Phil Coulson's reminder.

He had grasped the underlying meaning in Phil Coulson's words: this mission was likely a test of his abilities by S.H.I.E.L.D., and the process of completing the mission and the final result would certainly be discussed by the higher-ups, including that black-haired guy with the eye patch.

It seems he's determined to do this mission to the best of his ability, fully demonstrating his strength and uniqueness, living up to his high level of secrecy (level 9).

Chapter 66, Mission? Trial?

As Daisy walked outside, shaking her slightly damp hair, she saw Holm throw a pistol at her.

"Hopefully there are hair dryers on the plane. Get ready, we're on a mission." Holm said as he walked toward the passageway next to him, which led to the hangar where the planes were parked.

"What? So suddenly?" Daisy said with some doubt as she deftly put the pistol back into her waistband, while also pulling out a few tissues from the table to dry her hair.

Hearing Daisy's words, Holm, who was walking ahead, also smiled and replied, "I thought you were already used to it. Agents are meant to be ready to carry out missions at any time, especially now that we've joined a special team."

“I know all this, but it’s never been this sudden before.” Daisy was certainly aware of what Holm was talking about, after all, she had been an agent for quite some time.

However, as Holm said, they have now joined Phil Coulson's special squad. Although they don't have as many daily missions as before, they need to get used to dealing with such unexpected missions and be ready for combat at any time.

As they spoke, Holm passed through several identity verification checkpoints and entered the warehouse where the fighter jets were parked.

As they stepped into the warehouse, the lights inside intelligently began to turn on row by row.

Under the bright lights, several S.H.I.E.L.D. warplanes of various models were quietly parked there, ready to take off at any time.

“Today we’re going to use this Quinjet. You should have received training on this, right?” Holm said as he led Daisy toward a Quinjet.

Hearing Holm's question, which clearly showed his doubt about her abilities, Daisy responded with slight dissatisfaction: "You have so little confidence in me. What kind of place do you really have in your heart?"

"Of course I've taken courses on piloting aircraft, and I haven't missed any of the other things that a secret agent should learn."

"By the way, you may not know this, but the autopilot system that S.H.I.E.L.D. is currently using is a new version that I have upgraded, so this fighter jet can fly on its own today. Your worries are completely unnecessary."

As Daisy spoke, she proudly raised her head, strode past Holm, and was the first to board the Quinjet.

Seeing this, Holm smiled and shook his head, then quickly followed.

Although it might sound a bit disrespectful, he genuinely didn't know Daisy's abilities before.

Before knowing she was a skilled hacker, Holm's only impression of her was that she had a powerful background and extensive connections.

However, after hearing what she just said, Holm also felt that he did need to have a new understanding of Daisy.

Judging from the current situation, although Daisy is a rookie agent, she knows everything an agent should know, has learned all the necessary skills, and also possesses outstanding hacking skills.

The only thing she might lack is combat skills; she is deficient in both combat techniques and methods as well as combat experience.
