Appearing in the underground laboratory, Robert activated his electromagnetic induction to pinpoint everyone's location.

York was still fast asleep in his room, clearly not waking up until it was time to eat, surrounded by a large group of people waiting on him.

However, Robert searched high and low but could not find Caesar Clown and Law. Instead, all the members of the Heart Pirates were waiting in the lounge.

"Bepo, where are Law and Caesar Clown?"

Robert's sudden appearance startled Bepo the polar bear. Upon recognizing Robert, Bepo jumped up immediately.

"Lord Robert! You're finally back!"

"Our boss told me to wait for you here!"

"He and that gas guy have already set off for Impel Down!"

Still moving and taking leave

I'll post this chapter at noon or tonight, moving is taking too long.

Chapter 10 Old PUAer

When Robert set off from Punk Hazard, he was already conspiring with Caesar Courland to deceive Vergo.

Robert's departure for Impel Down was no surprise, but they were surprised that not only was Robert taken there as planned, but Caesar Clown was also left behind.

Why didn't you go with them?

Robert was somewhat puzzled. Almost all the staff in the underground laboratory were present, including the Heart Pirates. How confident was Robert that he could outmaneuver Vergo?

Bepo scratched his head: "Our boss said that Miss York can't be without her own people protecting her, and those bastards in the underground lab also need to be watched, so he let us stay."

Robert nodded. Going to Impel Down to cause trouble was not his own idea. Robert had his own ideas, and he wouldn't stop him. There was no need for him to worry about him.

"Could you please send a boat to pick up a few people for me?"

Bepo, of course, had no reason to leave and steered the Polar Submarine to the surface.

Redfield and his group boarded the ship, and the atmosphere became strange and oppressive. The Heart Pirates were so frightened that they didn't dare to say a word.

Upon entering the underground laboratory, Redfield chuckled softly, "Didn't that little girl named York know I was coming? Didn't she even come to greet me? She doesn't seem very polite."

Karina stopped talking at this point, her face full of smiles as if she didn't care at all. Padun, however, twisted her body and struggled out of her arms, jumping onto Robert's shoulder in a few steps.

Robert was a little confused, and Paddy whispered in his ear, "Kalina hurt me!"

Robert swallowed hard, feeling even less confident about the upcoming meeting. Both Redfield and Karina harbored deep prejudices against York.

Karina's discontent stemmed from the sudden appearance of another female member in the team, who immediately declared herself Robert's girlfriend upon joining.

But Robert couldn't understand why Redfield harbored such a deep grudge against York.

As Robert led the way, he explained, "Dr. Vegapunk couldn't complete so many research projects by himself, so he used cloning and mechanical technology to create six clones to help him with different functions, and used technology to share the perception and memory of all the clones."

"York is the youngest among them and is responsible for helping the other clones resolve their desires, such as the desire to eat, the desire to sleep, and so on."

"Whenever other clones have desires to satisfy, York will fulfill them on their behalf and share this satisfaction with the other clones via the cloud."

"So York eats a lot of food every day and sleeps much more than normal people. She didn't come to greet me because I didn't inform her, not because I was impolite."

Redfield smiled enigmatically: "You seem very nervous. Don't worry, I'm just checking on her to see if she's truly sincere."

The door to the biscuit shop was pushed open, and the lab personnel serving York were furious. But when they saw that it was Robert who brought people in, they quickly huddled to the side with their necks locked.

York was awakened by the noise. He rubbed his sleepy eyes, grinned when he saw that it was Robert, sat up, and pulled Robert into his arms.

"Why did it take you so long to come back? If you hadn't come back soon, I was going to come looking for you!"

Robert looked embarrassed and gave York a slight nudge, introducing, "York, let me introduce you. This is my master: Redfield."

York gave a warm, simple smile: "Hello, Master!"

Redfield's expression was somewhat strange. Surprisingly, he didn't give York a hard time as Robert had expected. He simply smiled and nodded.

Robert then pointed to Karina: "This is Karina, one of my original companions."

Karina seemed like a different person, showing no intention of picking a fight at all. She smiled and said, "You must be York's sister. Robert always mentions you."

But the more they acted this way, the more worried Robert became, always feeling that the two of them were about to pull off something big.

Just as he was about to introduce Sugar and Padon, York said in an unfriendly tone, "Karina? You're Robert's ex-girlfriend? Hello, senior, I'm his current girlfriend."

Robert's expression stiffened, but Karina wasn't angry at all: "It's okay, little sister. I know you haven't known Robert for long, so it's normal to be a little insecure about the relationship."

The more nonchalant she was, the angrier York became, his face turning as red as a steamed bun.

Redfield gave Karina a look, and Karina understood immediately, casually brushing a stray hair behind her ear:

"I'm a bit tired. I just helped the team earn 5000 billion Berries and tens of thousands of tons of gold. I should take a good rest for a while."

Robert didn't understand what Karina and his master were up to when Redfield said with a smile, "Alright, Karina, you go and rest first. I'll talk to York."

Karina, with a victorious air, turned and left with Sugar, while York, clinging to Robert's arm, trembled uncontrollably.

The Den Den Mushi next to him rang, and Bepo answered it while listening with a frown for a long time.

Redfield tilted his head: "What, something happened on the ground?"

Robert didn't want to get involved in other matters and planned to focus on resolving the conflict with York.

But when Redfield asked him, Bepo replied matter-of-factly, "The volcano cuisine up there has only been open for a few days, and those guys from Bucky Express have been coming over to freeload all the time. They're clearly so rich!"

Robert was somewhat dazed when he heard about Bucky Express. He had been so busy lately that he had almost forgotten about Bucky, even though he still owned shares in the company.

Redfield smiled and said, "Robert, go up and handle it. After all, it's our property, and we can't let others take advantage of us. I also have something to talk to York about."

York pouted, not wanting Robert to leave; she was very unhappy with Karina's attitude earlier.

Redfield chuckled again, "Robert has no other family, only me, his master..."

A seemingly random sentence made York tense up, then he released Robert: "Master wants you to go up and handle this, so go quickly. I'll talk to him."

Robert was speechless for a moment. York was, after all, Vegapunk's alter ego, and her mind was very sharp. Redfield only needed to give her a slight hint and she understood.

Judging from his master's expression, he was intentionally trying to get rid of him. Even if there was no free food and drink from Pakistan Express on the island, he would still find a way to avoid him.

With a helpless sigh, Robert said pleadingly, "Master, I'll be right back. Please don't frighten York..."

Redfield waved kindly to reassure Robert, then ushered everyone out of the room.

Robert walked toward the underground dock, but his mind remained focused on the biscuit shop.

Redfield's tone was approachable:

"York, I fully support your marriage to Robert."

"However... compared to Karina, you do have some disadvantages!"

Chapter 11 One Thing Subdues Another

York sat there obediently, but his nearly five-meter height was quite imposing.

Redfield looked at York with some difficulty: "I've heard about you. You're a very good girl, but you should also know about Karina. She knew Robert before you did and was a great help to his career..."

Redfield lowered his voice mysteriously and said, "Although she's been trying to please me, I don't actually like her that much. Simple girls like you are much cuter. Karina is a bit too petty."

Robert nearly choked on his saliva as he was about to board the submarine. He couldn't understand what his master was up to, talking badly about Karina behind her back.

You should know that Karina had accepted Redfield as her teacher before she did, and Redfield liked her even more than he liked her.

If Karina and I were like Redfield's children, then my mentor's attitude towards me was like raising a son frugally, strict and with little praise, while towards Karina it was like raising a daughter lavishly, gentle and with more encouragement.

Now that Redfield is saying behind his back that he doesn't like Karina, Robert feels that the world has gone a little too far.

York looked embarrassed: "I like you very much too..."

Redfield smiled kindly: "York, I am Robert's mentor. After Whitebeard died, I am his only elder in this world. Although he will definitely have to consult my opinion when choosing who to be with, I can't directly interfere with his feelings."

"Karina plays a crucial role in the team. If I support you without a reason, I'm afraid she'll cause trouble and throw the whole team into chaos. You know who Robert is; the Navy and the World Government are both after him, and he has enemies all over the pirate world..."

York said with displeasure, "How important? I'm Vegapunk, how could she be more important than me?"

Redfield smiled and shook his head, saying, "Karina just took down the richest man in the world and brought back a huge amount of money for the team. Not to mention Robert and me, everyone in the team is extremely grateful to her."

"At this point, unless you can produce even greater achievements than her, I'm afraid everyone will support her being with Robert. After all, only a stable relationship like marriage can reassure the people under her command, letting them know that the top of the team won't have conflicts and fall apart."

York narrowed his eyes, and a glint flashed in Redfield's eyes.

He used his Observation Haki to spy on York's mind from beginning to end. When they first met, Redfield had a strange expression. It was because he found that York was actually quite simple-minded. Apart from physical desires such as eating, drinking, defecating, and sleeping, what he thought about most was being with Robert.

She had talked so much, but only now had she brought out York's darker side.

Just as Redfield kept emphasizing that Karina was irreplaceable, York had a simple and efficient solution in mind: to just get rid of Karina.

But Redfield soon discovered that this idea had been suppressed. York's reason for giving up on killing Karina directly was actually due to a desire—the desire to win.

After a face-to-face contest with Karina, York felt an intense desire to win this confrontation.

York, representing desire, finds it difficult to suppress once desire is born.

At times like this, she wouldn't even agree to someone trying to kill Karina, because once Karina died, she would never be able to win in this competition again.

"I'll go ask Robert what he needs in a bit!"

Redfield smiled and shook his head: "If he tells you to do it, wouldn't that be a step behind? You know, when Robert was worried about the team's funds, no one told anyone. It was Karina who saw it herself and then found a way to help him solve his urgent problem."

York pouted, her mind racing. Robert seemed so busy every day, she never saw him have a moment to spend with her.

But he had no idea what Robert was busy with. Judging from his level of involvement in Robert's cause, he had indeed lost.

Redfield used his Observation Haki to focus intently on York's mind, giving her no time to think, and relentlessly pressed forward:

"The biggest problem for everyone recently is that he kidnapped you from the Navy. I'm afraid the World Government won't let this go easily."

"By the way, I heard him say there's a group of frozen giant shipwrights in this underground base. Do you know where they are? Could you take me to see them?"

York looked somewhat confused: "What shipwright? I..."

Redfield said nonchalantly, "It's alright. I'll have Robert take me there in a bit. Once we've secured the funding, the next step should be to build that ship that will be able to dominate the world."

York's attention wasn't on dominating the world at all; instead, he astutely grasped the key words: securing funding.

It's obvious who got the funds; just minutes ago, Karina arrogantly declared that she had obtained 5000 billion Berries and tens of thousands of tons of gold.
