Robert looked at Shirahoshi, who was dressed in revealing clothing, and felt that he had regained some of his humanity.
Chapter 19 What are the problems that Fishman Island is facing?
Shirahoshi has a gentle personality, but she hates being called a crybaby. Luffy, being a straightforward guy who is good at summarizing, pointed out this biggest characteristic of her at a glance.
Robert has Uta perform a fake story in the world of songs to deceive Hody Jones, but he must not let him see through the deception. The most crucial character in the story, Princess White Star, must be portrayed convincingly.
Uta's Devil Fruit ability is exceptionally powerful. Once she pulls someone into the world of song, theoretically, unless she is asleep in reality, the person trapped in the mind cannot break free on their own.
In other words, the crisis on Fishman Island has now been resolved, because Hody Jones became an inescapable prisoner the moment he heard Uta's song.
If Robert didn't need him to tell the truth himself to completely resolve the long-standing misunderstanding between the Dragon Palace Kingdom and humans, they could have been imprisoned right now.
Shirahoshi was relieved to see Ace and Robert there; in her mind, the Whitebeard Pirates were a reliable symbol.
Jinbe and Nami came with Shirahoshi. Nami originally intended to use a mirage to hide herself, but upon seeing Robert, she knew the crisis was over and decided to show herself and greet him openly.
Jinbe and Ace had become acquainted after a fight years ago. As soon as Jinbe arrived, Ace pulled him aside and explained the strange situation at the scene.
Nami and Karina haven't seen each other for many years. Karina could have shown up and recognized Nami many times, but she always hid and refused to see her. Today, however, Nami caught her red-handed.
As more and more people gathered, Franky and his friends arrived at the execution square in the Thousand Sunny. When they saw Hody Jones and his gang of henchmen rambling incoherently on the stage, Chopper, being the timid one he was, almost burst into tears.
Padon could only play with the Tontatta tribe on Skypiea. Now, seeing Chopper, a reindeer of similar size, he mistook him for a fellow Mink and immediately became interested in making friends with him.
Robert and Uta stood together discussing how to get Hody Jones to confess, only waving to the Straw Hat crew from a distance.
Shirahoshi's pet shark gagged twice and spat Luffy out of its mouth.
As soon as Luffy appeared, he started yelling and wanted to fight someone, but Robert grabbed his collar and stopped him.
Luffy struggled and said, "Robert! Why are you only arriving now? Let me go! I'm going to kill that bastard!"
Robert laughed and said, "Ace wants to kill him too. You need to discuss with Ace who should do it."
Luffy then noticed that Ace was also present, but his gaze was quickly drawn to another person: "Uta! It's Uta!"
Robert pressed Luffy's shoulder: "Don't bother Uta yet, she needs to focus on getting Hody Jones to confess."
Luffy quickly understood what it meant to lie and confess. Not long after, Hody Jones laughed wildly, "You've all been fooled by me. I was the one who actually killed that eyesore, Otohime!"
Whether it was the people of the Dragon Palace Kingdom watching Hody Jones's madness via live stream, or the nearby residents climbing the coral reef to watch the farce in the square, everyone was shocked by Hody Jones's words.
Poisoned by the deadly drug and immersed in a world of false singing, Hody Jones continued to recount how he bribed a human pirate, shot and killed Queen Otohime, and then killed the pirate to claim credit. He even explained in detail why he did it.
Robert breathed a sigh of relief: "Alright, Uta, let this idiot out."
Uta chuckled as she deactivated the Song-Song Fruit's power and turned to catch up with Luffy.
Hody Jones felt a blur before his eyes, and the plaza that should have been occupied by 100,000 powerful fishmen was now empty, with only a few people standing in the center.
He had no idea what was going on, and turned to look at his subordinates who had come from the Dragon Palace with him: "What's going on? Where are our troops?"
Ace gritted his teeth: "Jinbe, we may be friends, but I can't give you that kind of face. That bastard Hody Jones must be held accountable for his actions!"
Jinbe rubbed his hands together, eager to fight: "It's not your turn, kid. The scum of our Fish-Men will be eliminated by the Fish-Men themselves!"
Upon hearing that the two were about to fight, Luffy rushed onto the platform without warning and punched Hody Jones, who was still unaware of what was happening, sending him flying.
Ace and Jinbe berated Luffy for his lack of martial ethics and rushed forward to finish him off. Robert didn't even glance at them. It was rather cruel that Luffy, the future Pirate King, Ace, who had been the leader of a Yonko crew, and Jinbe, a former Shichibukai, were working together to serve Hody Jones, a nobody whose name had never been heard of on the sea.
He turned to Shirahoshi and said, "Princess Shirahoshi, hop on your little shark and come with me. There's something important I need to take care of."
Bai Xing looked puzzled. Robert pointed to the distant sky, where a huge black shadow was already faintly visible.
King Neptune asked uncertainly, "What is that?"
Robert sighed, "That pervert who's been chasing after Shirahoshi threw a hidden weapon from Nodak, which was parked in Fishman Street..."
The humans present did not know what Noah was, but how could the Merfolk royal family not know? When they heard that a giant ship almost half the size of Merfolk Island had been thrown over, everyone was terrified and turned pale.
Back then, Robert couldn't understand why such a simple predicament in the Fish-Man Island arc was so difficult to resolve. Hody Jones's fighting power didn't even require Luffy's intervention; Zoro could have easily defeated him with a single burst of power. Yet, they dragged it out for so long without killing him, waiting for him to take his medicine one by one.
The plot of using the Ark as a projectile to destroy Fishman Island is even more absurd. Van Deikun IX's Target-Target Fruit must have a target. Once the projectile is thrown, the target will be hit no matter where it hides, unless the projectile is knocked away beforehand.
Since King Van Deiken IX threw Noah with Princess Shirahoshi as the target, let Shirahoshi distract it.
Robert called to Shirahoshi, and riding the shark Mecaro, they burst out of the dome bubble and headed straight for Noah.
Van Deckard IX was lying on the bow of the giant ship Noah when he suddenly noticed that the ship was slowing down. No matter how much he tried to use his Devil Fruit powers, he couldn't move the ship an inch.
Just as he was wondering what had happened, he heard a mocking voice beside him: "Why go through all that trouble? I'll just deliver the target to you."
Van Deiken IX looked up and realized why Noah had stopped moving. Princess Shirahoshi was standing on the ramming post at the bow of the ship. The projectile had already hit its target, so how could she possibly move?
Robert sat inside the bubble wrap and patted the shark Mecaro's dorsal fin: "Come on, let's go up and say hello to this freak!"
Chapter 20 We are a pirate crew, not an adventure party
Noah was never actually thrown to Fish-Man Island; he was intercepted by Robert halfway there. Van Deikun IX, quick-witted as ever, immediately decided to shift his target from Princess Shirahoshi to the other people on Fish-Man Island, continuing to threaten her with the destruction of the island to force her to marry him.
Unfortunately, Robert was also standing in his way.
Robert remembered every character and Devil Fruit ability that appeared in the story, giving him absolutely no chance.
Before Van Deken IX could even raise his hand, Robert commanded the shark Mecaro to slap himself in front of Van Deken with his tail, pull down his gloves, and carefully pinch all ten of his fingers.
"Now that's great, all your targets are me!"
Van Deckard IX was on the verge of collapse. His Target-Target Fruit ability was quite overpowered, as he could even throw the ark Noah, which was as big as an island, as a projectile. However, the corresponding drawbacks were also obvious.
The target fruit can only be marked by touching it with your fingers, and you can't decide whether to mark it or not. If you don't want to overwrite the previous target by shaking hands, you have to wear gloves and not take them off.
For ten years, in order not to lose sight of his goal of Princess Shirahoshi, he had never taken off his gloves or washed his hands. Robert had to force himself to feel disgusted before touching his fingers.
Princess Shirahoshi swam to Robert's side, looking timidly at the man who had kept her confined to her room for ten years. Although she was furious, she was also worried that Robert would kill her.
"From now on, you won't have to worry about anyone throwing hidden weapons at you anymore. I'll hand him over to your father to deal with in a bit."
Robert's words made Princess Shirahoshi breathe a sigh of relief. If it weren't for her good looks and her status as the modern-day Poseidon, Robert would have kept his distance from such a saintly girl.
Robert glanced at Noah, which was sinking towards the seabed after losing its target, and whispered in Shirahoshi's ear, "Let the Sea Kings tow this ship back to Fishman Town. Now is not the time for it to reappear, and your abilities must not be exposed."
Shirahoshi wasn't curious about why Robert knew she could command the Sea Kings; she simply called them to come here and pulled the chains on Noah, bringing it back to its original position.
Robert was far superior to Van Deacon IX; with just a thought, he could control the electrons throughout Van Deacon's body, rendering him completely immobile.
After Noah was dragged away by the sea kings, Robert had the shark Mecaro carry Van Deacon back to Fishman Island.
The riot on the island had long since ended. Forget about eating the Fishman Island's deadly medicine; even if Hody Jones ate a Devil Fruit on the spot, he wouldn't be a match for those beasts. He's already been beaten unconscious.
King Neptune, along with his three sons, hunted down the rebels and restored order to the country, while Robert joined Luffy and the others and headed to the Dragon Palace.
Luffy and Uta chattered away; they hadn't seen each other for over a decade and now had so much to talk about.
In Robert's view, the Ryugu Kingdom had no problems that were difficult to handle; the biggest problem was how to deal with the mob of the new fish-man pirates, whose composition was quite complex.
Of the 100,000 people, 70,000 were strong and sturdy fish-men, and 30,000 were human slaves captured from the sea. However, these slaves were not good people either; most of them were pirates who made a living by burning, killing, and looting.
In any kingdom, launching a coup is the most unforgivable crime. The New Fishman Pirates have not simply been defeated in a coup; they have taken control of the king and have explicitly declared their intention to execute him.
There was no turning back once this was done. Hody Jones, the ringleader, and his few cronies had to be executed in public as a warning to others. But what about the others? There were 70,000 strong fish-men and 30,000 humans.
If humanity were wiped out, it would be a major diplomatic incident, a racial cleansing of humanity by the Ryugu Kingdom.
Releasing the humans would be the Dragon Palace Kingdom's compromise with them, and a sign of the mermaid royal family's weakness and vulnerability.
The 70,000 fish-men are even more difficult to deal with. The fact that the relatively small number of merfolk are now leading a large number of fish-men as rulers poses a threat. If all 70,000 prisoners are killed at once, even if they have committed the heinous crime of rebellion, the Dragon Palace Kingdom will surely sow the seeds of division.
Releasing them is even more impossible. Once the loophole of "the law does not punish the masses" is opened, the Dragon Palace Kingdom will have nothing else to do but guard against those who incite rebellion. In any case, as long as there are enough people, the royal family will not dare to kill anyone.
In the story, Luffy's Conqueror's Haki burst out and stunned 50,000 people. The remaining 50,000 who were still standing were like soldiers in One Piece Warriors, easily mowed down by the Straw Hat crew.
Once the crisis was over, they didn't have to worry about anything anymore. They happily held a few days of banquets, and Luffy and his crew headed towards the New World, leaving the entire mess to the Ryugu Kingdom.
They even just verbally declared their protection of the Ryugu Kingdom, humiliated the Big Mom Pirates, left their own pirate flag behind, and left, as if saving face could guarantee the safety of the entire kingdom.
It's worth noting that even a nobody like Bartolomeo dared to set foot on the island occupied by Shanks, and there were actually Red-Haired Pirates stationed there, yet that didn't stop people from coming to provoke him.
Luffy's crew currently consists of a total of nine people. Unless they decide to stay and not leave, I really don't know how they dare to claim they're protecting Fishman Island.
But Robert and his crew aren't like Luffy's reckless adventurers. Since they're going to take over Fishman Island during the day, they have to send troops there and deal with the potential dangers caused by this major rebellion.
Many of the Straw Hat crew members and the people Robert brought were old acquaintances, and they quickly became familiar with each other. The group noisily decided to have a banquet.
As the host, Shirahoshi was in a great mood after being freed from the constant threat of death that had plagued her for over a decade. She took the initiative to arrange for everyone to be entertained.
After exchanging pleasantries with everyone, Robert pulled Ace aside, and the two went alone to King Neptune's room.
Neptune and his three sons were all present, and they all stood up to greet Robert and Ace when they arrived.
Robert and Ace put away their playful expressions and sat solemnly in the seats that had been prepared for them.
Neptune spoke up, "This riot was premeditated by Hody Jones. It was only because the Whitebeard Pirates had to leave for a while that they couldn't help but jump out. If they had been allowed to continue plotting for a while, it probably wouldn't have been so easy to resolve."
Having been king for so many years, Neptune the Elder still possessed political awareness. His very first statement absolved the White Order of responsibility for withdrawing its troops, pointing out that even if the White Order did not withdraw, the conflict would only become more acute due to suppression.
Robert waved his hand with a smile: "We're all old friends, so there's no need to argue about whose fault it is. The key now is how to solve the problem."
Neptune frowned and said, "These people can't be killed or released, I'm really in a dilemma."
Robert nodded and said, "So I have a small suggestion for you to consider."
Neptune's eyes lit up, and he quickly asked what the suggestion was.
Robert pointed at the merman royalty and said, "Your dilemma stems from your merman race's identity. Whether you kill them or release them, it will inevitably trigger a series of negative consequences."
"But we're pirates. Pirates can do all sorts of bad things, right?"
"The New Fishman Pirates want to kill all humans, so the Whitebeard Pirates are very angry."
"We're taking these 100,000 men with us as spoils of war, to serve as the vanguard for the Whitebeard Pirates' conquests!"
Does anyone have any comments?
Chapter 21 I owe you a Straw Hat Grand Fleet, how about I give you a Fishman Grand Fleet in return?
Seventy thousand fish-man warriors are a force to be reckoned with on the sea, not to mention the thirty thousand ferocious pirates.
These 100,000 people would be a huge threat if left in the Dragon Palace Kingdom, but they would be the best cannon fodder in the new world where the Four Emperors are vying for supremacy.
Luffy didn't become famous in Dressrosa; he had defeated the Seven Warlords of the Sea before, and Crocodile, a Logia-type Devil Fruit user, was far more powerful than Doflamingo.
