Conan, I'm an actor

The remaining four followed suit and all hired their own lawyers to take them away.
Since they were not suspected, Inspector Megure did not stop them from leaving.
After everyone had left, Inspector Megure spoke to Conan, "I know what you're trying to say, Kudo. If you were still the same person, you could use your social influence to force them to compromise. But in this situation..."
Before Inspector Megure could finish speaking, he received another call. After listening to only a couple of sentences, his expression changed. "What did you say? How could you be so fast!"
"What's going on?" Kogoro Mouri asked, frowning.
“That Ms. Kosuke used her connections to get the Shizuoka Prefectural Police to reopen the investigation into the previous case. Someone provided Etsutomu Murohashi's asset certificates; all the wealthy man's secret stash was in that guy's bank safe deposit box.” Inspector Megure put down his phone and looked at the body in the carriage. “Perhaps, this is the best outcome. The deceased deserved to die.”
"What's this?!" Conan slammed his fist on the wall. "If everyone resorts to vigilante justice, won't things descend into complete chaos?"
In the room on the other side
Sera smiled and looked at Ran beside him, "By the way, Ran, I have a question for you."
"What is it?" Xiaolan asked, somewhat puzzled. "Sera-kun, just ask if you want to."
"Is the 'younger brother Kudo' that Inspector Megure mentioned earlier referring to your boyfriend, Shinichi Kudo?" Sera asked earnestly.
"Boyfriend or anything..." Xiaolan wanted to deny it, but she noticed that Sonoko had already taken action. She immediately grabbed Sonoko and asked nervously, "Sonoko, what are you doing?"
"Of course we should ask that guy. Is the case all he has on his mind?" Sonoko asked, somewhat angrily. "He left without saying goodbye and hasn't sent any news back for so long."
"Wait a moment, Dad and the others might be working on a case." Xiaolan's face instantly turned red, and sweat was about to drip down her forehead.
If Sonoko knew that Conan was Shinichi and that they lived together, just thinking about it would make her so embarrassed she could dig a three-bedroom apartment with her toes.
“Okay, but this time you can’t let that guy get away. You have to teach him a lesson.” Sonoko suddenly realized something was wrong. “Ran, you don’t mean you don’t like Shinichi anymore, do you?”
"How could that be..." Xiaolan waved her hand, hastily denying it.
"I remember you were so desperate to see Shinichi before," Sonoko said, scrutinizing Ran. "Now he's right outside the door, and you're stopping me from going to cause trouble for him. Have you... fallen for someone else?!"
"What are you saying, Sonoko!"
Meanwhile, Sera was staring at Ai Haibara inside the room. He had just heard Inspector Megure call Conan "Brother Kudo." If Conan was indeed Shinichi Kudo, then this child might not be his distant cousin's child, but rather his distant cousin herself.
To confirm this, we need to do some more detailed investigation, starting with Ran.
A dozen minutes later, they were released. The first thing Sonoko did after running out was to find Shinichi Kudo and get revenge for her best friend, but unfortunately she couldn't find him.
"It's all your fault! If you hadn't stopped me, we would have caught that guy already." Sonoko immediately started complaining about Ran's indecisiveness.
Ran was comforting Sonoko, as if Sonoko was the one who had been dumped by her boyfriend.
Just then, Ai Haibara walked up to Conan and asked with a smile, "Do you want to confront that young lady? I feel like we can't keep it a secret any longer."
"Let's not do it for now," Conan rolled his eyes. "You know she can't keep a secret. Besides, I don't want to be laughed at by her."
"Oh?" Haibara looked at compartment B. "So, are you still planning to continue investigating this case?"
“It’s basically impossible. To convict that guy, we need to find the glass, the fishing line, and the picture frame.” Conan frowned. “That guy must have destroyed those things already. He probably threw them out of the car window. The workload of searching along the route is too great, and the police stations along the way may not be willing to cooperate.”
"Giving up like this isn't like you."
“There were probably more people involved in this crime than just Anton. If I’m not mistaken, that Ms. Xiaoshao was one of them, and she might have provided the gold frame,” Conan said, stroking his chin. “And you were too, weren’t you?”
"That's just your guess. Don't make guesses without evidence. Didn't you get a lesson from that old man before?" Ai Haibara rolled her eyes.
“No, the moment you saw Murohashi Etsuto, you pointed out that there was a silencer in the muzzle, which refuted our judgment that it was a murder…” Conan said with a frown, “Most people wouldn’t know this kind of thing.”
“Let me remind you, I’m not an ordinary person. Although I’m in charge of scientific research, that doesn’t mean I’ve never handled a gun or killed anyone,” Haibara said coldly. “I think you’re just pushing yourself too hard.”
"Mr. Shinjo was also involved, right?"
“I don’t understand what you’re saying,” Haibara said in a low voice. “But I’m giving you a piece of advice: don’t get carried away by some unexpected favors. That guy is dangerous. If he really intends to do something to you, his revenge will be much harsher than Mr. Anton’s slap.”
"I know, I know, why are you acting like an old woman..." Conan jumped up instantly, covering his calves with both hands, "Why are you kicking people like that?"
"Oh dear, I'm so sorry for looking like an old woman." Haibara turned and walked into the carriage.
"This woman, really..." Conan shook his head, wanting to take out his phone to send a text message to Shinjo, but in the end he didn't send it.
Chapter 324 The Train (Fireworks)
As soon as Haibara entered the carriage, she sent a text message to Shinjo.
On the other side, after receiving the text message, Xincheng sighed, "They're really perceptive; they were able to guess my plan."
"Is it that kid named Conan?" Vermouth asked.
"It's Yukiko's son. That kid is too sensitive." Shinjo looked out the window. "We should be arriving at the station soon."
"The bomb hasn't exploded yet. Are you planning to take everyone on this train with you?"
“How could that be! I haven’t lived enough yet.” Shinjo said with a smile. “I think Bourbon is probably looking for a suitable detonation site.”
Before he could finish speaking, the entire train shook, and shortly afterward, a huge explosion was heard, and the train began to slowly slow down.
"Looks like we've achieved our goal." Shinjo stretched. "Oh, right, there's one more question: Is Gin at Nagoya station?"
“I don’t know.” Vermouth chuckled and knocked on the window. “Thanks to you, Gin has been like a frightened mouse lately. Even Vodka can’t keep track of his movements.”
Xincheng was taken aback, then a smile appeared on his face. "Then he'd better not show up at the station."
After the train stopped, the police officers on board swiftly apprehended the organization members disguised as ordinary passengers. However, these members were not to be underestimated; several of them fought back, resulting in some casualties.
Fortunately, the supporting police cars and ambulances were ready in advance, and the patient was able to be taken to the hospital in time.
After the gunfire in the last two hard-seat carriages stopped, Xincheng glanced at his watch. "Not bad, less than three minutes."
“Those are the hard-seat and soft-seat carriages; the carriages after the dining car haven't started moving yet. Do you think Bourbon might sell you out? After all, we're both high-ranking members of the organization.” Vermouth suddenly laughed. “If he sells us out, maybe he…”
New Town ignored Vermouth and walked to the door to listen to the footsteps outside.
Soon, a commotion broke out outside the door. The two groups of people in the carriage quickly exchanged fire with the police who came to check. A fierce gunfight ensued, and the partitions used to separate the carriages were even pierced by bullets.
In this situation, Shinjo and Vermouth had no choice but to lie on the ground to avoid stray bullets that could appear at any moment.
About ten minutes later, the gunfire gradually subsided. Xincheng ran outside and saw two police officers dragging two bodies toward another carriage.
The police officer who had previously made the deal with him raised his hand, signaling him to return to the car and wait, and not to come out unless necessary.
Shinjo shrugged at Vermouth, indicating that everything was alright and there was no need to worry.
The train stopped briefly, and after all the police officers and criminals had disembarked, it started moving again towards Nagoya Station.
Karen did find Gin at Nagoya Station, but it was Gin who had left two hours earlier, apparently after receiving news that the bomb had been detonated.
Karen tried using the surveillance cameras on the street to track his movements, but the guy was extremely good at counter-surveillance, and he disappeared not far from the station.
"Should we use computing power to find him?" Karen asked into the headset. "He can't possibly hide from the surveillance cameras along the coastline. I'm confident I can find him."
“Find him, and then what? He ran away again.” Xincheng shook his head. “I’m not going to waste my time. As long as he doesn’t bother me, that’s fine.”
After spending one night in Nagoya, he returned to Tokyo. Upon opening his wallet, he found a business card with an address on it. He was certain it wasn't his, so there was only one possibility: someone had put it in his pocket—perhaps Kid, or perhaps Amuro Tooru.
"Go, or not go?" Xincheng stared at the address on the business card, lost in thought.
Meanwhile, on the other side
Sonoko was furious, but not because her train journey had been disrupted. She was angry because Kid hadn't shown up to steal the ruby, and therefore no one had seen her love letter.
"I think Sonoko, the base should have seen your letter by now." Ran placed her phone in front of Sonoko. "Look."
The photograph shows a ruby inside the first-class carriage of the Suzuki Express. Beneath the ruby is a letter signed "Sonoko Suzuki," its sealing wax already removed. Next to the ruby and letter is another letter, similar to the one used by Kaito Kid, indicating that the sender is not participating in the commotion.
Conan looked at Kid's announcement and his lips twitched. This guy was rubbing salt into Suzuki's wounds.
A murder has occurred on the Suzuki Express train. The murderer has not yet been found, and the Suzuki family's reputation has been thoroughly tarnished. Old man Jirokichi is probably furious right now.
"I just received inside information that all the Black Organization members who were planning to ambush you at the train station have been arrested. The only pity is that none of them had codenames; they were mostly small fry." Kogoro Mouri put down his phone and looked at Conan.
"Small fish and shrimp aren't so bad, at least they've been behaving themselves for a while now." Conan felt a little dizzy.
Soon, they boarded the next train to Nagoya. They had originally intended to return directly to Tokyo, but to express their apology, Sonoko covered all their remaining travel expenses and accommodations.
Just then, Conan's phone rang. He took it out and saw that there was an email.
"An email from an unknown sender? Who would email me..." Conan's hand trembled, and he almost dropped his phone.
"What's wrong?" Haibara was the first to notice Conan's unusual behavior.
"See for yourself." Conan handed the phone directly to Ai Haibara.
To his surprise, Haibara didn't seem to care much about the photos on the phone; she just glanced at them and handed the phone back to Conan.
"Don't you have anything to say? That's Gin, you know." Conan was getting impatient.
"So what if it's Gin?" Ai Haibara took out her phone, typed in a search term, and showed it to Conan. "We're not going to Nagoya Station. Because of an explosion, the railway line from Tokyo to Aichi Prefecture was cut off. If we want to go to Nagoya, we can only go by train or plane. He can't stop us at Nagoya Station."
"When was this news released? Which train exploded?" Conan's face turned deathly pale instantly.
"Just as you guessed, the explosion occurred in the last carriage of the Suzuki Express. It was quite a spectacular fireworks display." Ai Haibara kicked the ground. "That guy will definitely leave Nagoya Station after the explosion."
How did you determine that?
"If even an explosion can't kill us, what other tricks does he have up his sleeve? It's daytime now, he can't possibly bring out an attack helicopter, can he? Besides, things aren't like they used to be, the organization doesn't have that much power in Japan anymore."
Now that you mention it, it does make some sense.
Soon the Suzuki family's car arrived at the door and took them directly to their villa in Nagoya.
On the way, the group learned about the bombing of the Suzuki Express train and were still shaken. If that particular carriage hadn't detached, the entire train might have been blown to bits.
"Speaking of which, Sonoko, your security checks are way too lax," Uncle Mori said with a hint of helplessness. "The criminals loaded so much explosives onto the truck and you didn't even know."
"Those guys must have been slacking off!" Sonoko said, somewhat annoyed. "Before the train departs, each carriage is inspected by three conductors!"
"It can't be said that the conductor was slacking off. Someone said before that the conductor's uniform was stolen, so maybe they were the ones who did it." Conan began to defend the workers.
It was fortunate those guys didn't discover the bomb on the train, otherwise they would have been dead long ago. Given the organization's modus operandi, they would definitely have silenced them to ensure the plan's success.
Conan looked at the car behind him, where the three kids and Professor Agasa were sitting. At this moment, the three kids were still unaware of what had happened and were full of enthusiasm for the upcoming trip.
“Even for the sake of those children, you have to control your emotions,” Haibara typed on her phone. “They’re really looking forward to this trip.”
"He recovered so quickly after encountering a murder case. He's really a kid," Conan remarked. "He's so carefree."
"If we're talking about being heartless, you'd probably be a better fit." Haibara put down her phone. "I just spoke with Shinjo on the phone. He's reached an agreement with them. As long as you don't leave Japan, they won't cause you any trouble."
"Hey, hey, hey!" Conan's face turned green instantly. There were also two people in the car who were unaware of the situation: Sera Masumi and Suzuki Sonoko.
"Little brat, have you offended someone?" Sonoko's interest was instantly piqued.
