After a long pause, one of them gritted his teeth and said, "I am willing to swear an oath of loyalty."

Roland and the other dark wizard turned around abruptly, looking at him as if he were a madman.

The oath of loyalty is a magical spell used in the magical world to guarantee the loyalty of servants, but under normal circumstances, even slaves would not be willing to take such an oath.

Magical judgments are largely subjective. For example, with blood oaths, if you have such an intention, you will be punished by magic.

The same goes for oaths of loyalty. If you harbor even the slightest thought of it, this magic will cause you unbearable pain, and if it happens too many times, it will send you to your death.

How could a normal person not even entertain the slightest thought of betrayal? People aren't puppets; they're not just about following orders.

Even Voldemort didn't make his subordinates swear oaths of loyalty, which shows how sinister this thing is.

If Voldemort ever forced his subordinates to swear an oath of loyalty, the number of Death Eaters under his command would never exceed ten in his lifetime.

Using this magic is basically tantamount to suicide.

Roland was speechless. "What the hell are you doing here? Are you crazy?"

He's already sworn an oath of loyalty; there's absolutely no way out for him.

If Roland hadn't been without a wand, he would have definitely given him a giant melon shot and taken down this market-disrupting king.

The Dark Wizard of the Scrolls didn't care about Roland's hostility at all. "You two haven't been tortured by his Crucifixion Curse. With Witt's proficiency in the Crucifixion Curse, he would be dead today if he didn't swear an oath of loyalty."

If they establish themselves, they can survive for a while longer.

It's not that he was forced into it, it's that he had no choice.

“What about you?” Witt turned his head and asked the remaining dark wizard.

One is willing to help him cover his tracks in France, and another is willing to swear an oath of loyalty; only you haven't made your decision yet.

The last dark wizard, who had never experienced hardship, hesitated for a long time, dawdling on and on. Once the other two had made their magical oaths, Witt decided not to wait any longer.

“You,” Witt said, pointing at Roland, “take him away. You know what to do.”

"Master, spare me... Waaah!"

"Tongue-locking and throat-sealing."

Witt sealed the other man's mouth with a spell, too lazy to listen to his explanation. He had given him a chance but didn't cherish it. What was the use of begging for mercy now? He treated him like a philanthropist.

"Take him away."

Witt waved for them to leave.

The death penalty shall be carried out immediately.

Back home, Witt's feelings were quite complicated as he thought about how he had inexplicably gained two more subordinates.

There was no other way; the other party had already sworn an oath of loyalty and shown the utmost sincerity. It would be somewhat unreasonable for Witt to kill someone after that.

Even the most useless person can still be of some use if they are loyal enough.

The Lestrange family matter was temporarily resolved, three days later.

Witte rode his fire-bolt to the Malfoys' house at their invitation.

The Malfoy family's ancestral estate is extremely luxurious, with meticulously designed gardens, beautiful fountains, and white peacocks roaming among them.

Bathed in mist, the manor's scenery is as beautiful and dreamlike as if it were a hazy morning.

The castle itself is even more luxurious; its exterior decorations alone are dazzling.

It was praised for its large area.

The only problem is that there are only three people living in such a big castle.

Even going to the toilet at night would probably require walking a long way, and the house was built to be almost completely dark, requiring candles for lighting even in broad daylight.

Werther couldn't appreciate the wizard's underworld aesthetics.

"Mr. Malfoy."

Upon entering the castle, Witte first bowed to Lucius, his movements elegant and his posture impeccable, more aristocratic than any nobleman.

This gave Lucius a very good first impression of Witte.

Thinking of the environment in which Witte grew up, Lucius immediately thought of bloodline.

Certainly, this innate elegance must be something that comes from a noble wizarding lineage.

As a professional fence-sitter... ugh, pshaw!

As a professional speculator, Lucius saw a new opportunity in Witte.

After Voldemort's downfall, Lucius chose to betray the ministry in order to escape its purge, an act that was clearly unforgivable to Voldemort.

Even though he had recently heard some rumors, such as Quirrell being Voldemort's henchman and searching for the Philosopher's Stone to help Voldemort resurrect, Lucius still had no intention of going to find Voldemort.

They even wish the other person would die sooner and be reborn.

PS: In the original story, Dobby knew that Harry had defeated the Dark Lord once again, so Lucius obviously knew even more clearly.

But Lucius, who had completely betrayed Voldemort, was unwilling to go back; he desperately needed to find another protector.

Lucius originally intended for Draco to get to know Harry, as many in the wizarding world believed that Harry, who could kill Voldemort as a child, would grow up to become an even more powerful Dark Lord.

Lucius was also a staunch supporter of this idea, but judging from Draco's account, Harry did not demonstrate sufficiently strong magical talent or the potential to become the Dark Lord.

With Harry sorted into Gryffindor, where he was naturally at odds with Slytherin, that path was clearly blocked.

In contrast to Harry, Witt's behavior was more in line with his status as a Dark Lord prospect.

He has naturally snake-like eyes, knows Parsley, possesses bloodline magic that can be used without a wand, and has unparalleled magical talent that can easily defeat Draco.

He was able to compete with Percy, a fifth-grader from the Weasley family, right after starting first grade.

All of his actions suggest that Witt is the next Dark Lord.

That's why Lucius invited Witt over; he wanted to personally make the final confirmation and invest in a new future for the Malfoy family.

Chapter 76 Witte's Backfire

Lucius was sizing up Witt, and Witt was also observing Lucius.

Lucius Malfoy, a shrewd but short-sighted speculator.

His magical abilities are average; he's shrewd in small matters but muddle-headed in big ones. When faced with major problems, he starts to waver, unable to make up his mind and afraid to take risks.

She is far less opinionated than Narcissa.

He's a complete copy of Draco, but with a much stronger sense of evil in his character. While Draco often just tries to gain an advantage verbally, Lucius is truly willing to do it.

If Draco could be trained and barely trusted, then Lucius was only someone they could use and not someone they could trust at all.

After all, the Malfoy family only ever adds to what's already good, never offers help in times of need.

"Please sit down."

The magic teapot on the table refilled Witt's tea, and the desserts made by the house-elf Dobby were summoned. Lucius smiled kindly at Witt and said, "Draco will be here soon."

Said Cao Cao, Cao Cao.

"That's outrageous!" Draco stormed downstairs with a newspaper in his hand, his face contorted with rage. "Witt, this damn newspaper is slandering you!"

"This is utter nonsense. This person is rude, disrespectful, violent, and enjoys bullying his sister. This is slander, absolutely slander."

Before Draco, the front page of the Daily Prophet boldly proclaimed, "Dark Wizard Strikes, Poor Little Witch Suffers Double Abuse from Family and Society."

Contributor: Rita Skeeter.

Without even reading the content, Witt knew that Rita Skeeter was once again making things up out of thin air, writing her fabricated stories as news in the newspaper.

“Witt, the newspaper is slandering you? How come you’re not angry? You don’t have a sister at all. He’s making this up out of thin air.”

“I do have a younger sister,” Witt explained. “My grandfather married a woman during the summer holidays, and she was brought along.”

“I took her to Ximo’s house to play, and then this happened. I confronted that reporter, so it’s normal for him to want to retaliate.”

"Oh."

Upon hearing Seamus's name, Draco immediately didn't want to talk about it anymore.

He changed the subject, saying, "My father specially hired a circus to perform at the manor for tonight's banquet."

“Many pure-blood families, such as Goyle, Crabbe, and Abbott, will be coming. Even Mr. Ollivander has accepted the invitation.”

"Professor Slughorn and Professor Snape will also be coming."

Draco couldn't contain his excitement at the thought of how lively the house would be that evening.

His house is so big, it's usually so spacious you could run a horse around in it. Draco gets bored at home and can only play with Goyle and Crabbe, which is really boring.

Draco was overjoyed to have such a lively time at home.

However, noticing that Witt was not very interested, Draco quickly suppressed his joy.

“Witt, I read in the newspaper that your Firebolt has been stolen,” Draco said indignantly. “I’m going to have my dad talk to the Ministry of Magic and get your broom back as soon as possible.”

“No need for the Ministry of Magic,” Witt said, shaking his head. “I engraved a thief-proof spell on the broom, and it has returned automatically.”

Witt was determined to get revenge, and on the very night the broom was stolen, he snatched it back. He took two of the three thieves under his command, and planted the remaining one in the ground.

By the time the Ministry of Magic intervenes, the broomsticks will probably be overseas by now.

"Anti-theft magic".

Upon hearing the word "magic," Lucius asked with great interest, "May I take a look?"

He wanted to confirm Witt's skill level.

Witt opened the large leather case and read aloud, "Fire bolts are coming."

Before the fire bolts even flew, Lucius's gaze shifted elsewhere.

"Is this a non-marking stretch case?"

Lucius asked with a burning gaze, "I've never heard of the Seamless Expansion Box being able to be shrunk with a shrinking charm."

“By chance,” Witt said, deliberately trying to conceal his true intentions. “I also got my hands on this item by sheer coincidence.”

After saying that, Witt put the item away, as if he had just taken it out by accident.

After putting away the box, Witt handed the fire bolt to Lucius, pointing to a hidden corner at the end of the bolt and saying, "The anti-theft magic is engraved here."
