Since he's already dead, so what if his body is damaged? He can just use magic to repair it without affecting his mobility.

Extis plays an incredibly aggressive style of play.

Kingsley gripped his wand tightly, staring intently into Extis's eyes, not daring to blink.

He couldn't help but mutter to himself, "Where did this fierce person come from? Not only is he incredibly strong, but he doesn't care about his injuries at all during the fight. He's completely reckless, fighting fire with fire."

From the moment we met until now, there are at least four marks on Extis's body from the black magic repairs. Even if we win this battle, he won't live past three months.

Kingsley couldn't understand why the other side was fighting so hard.

With his strength, no Auror could stop him from leaving.

The Wizarding Council—he had been referring to the Ministry of Magic as the Wizarding Council, but those were centuries ago.

Could it be.

A sudden thought flashed through Kingsley's mind: was the Horcrux that the Ministry of Magic had seized a few days ago his?

Deadly curses, powerful black magic, ancient artifacts from hundreds of years ago, and reckless, suicidal attacks.

It's all connected now, everything's connected.

The Ministry of Magic, while searching for Dark Magic items, happened to find the other party's Horcrux and handed it over to Dumbledore.

Although it's unclear why Dumbledore hasn't destroyed the Horcruxes yet, getting them back from him is virtually impossible.

With his life in someone else's hands and facing imminent death, this dark wizard brazenly launched an attack on the Ministry of Magic.

He wanted to take revenge on the Ministry of Magic and on Fudge, the man who ordered the search for dark magical artifacts.

That's why the other side attacked so recklessly.

Anyway, Dumbledore will die if he destroys the Horcrux, and Dumbledore will definitely destroy the Horcrux.

Strictly speaking, he was already dead.

I'm a dead man, why would I be afraid to exchange wounds with you?

Kingsley had figured everything out, and facing the still fierce Extis, he began to have thoughts of retreating.

After all, he really didn't need to risk his life against a dead man.

Kingsley was determined to go back, and he was prepared to accept either suspension or a pay cut.

If we continue fighting, the losses might be even greater.

"retreat."

Kingsley forced Extis to retreat, then pulled the unconscious Scrimgeour from the ground and tried to run away.

"Stop them! Don't let them get away!" Rozier shouted, disregarding his own safety as he forcefully attacked Kingsley with magic, trying to interrupt his Apparition.

Kingsley canceled Apparition to block Rozier's attack, but he became increasingly convinced that his guess was correct.

"Take Scrimgeour and retreat."

Even after switching from offense to defense, the Aurors' actions remained orderly, without any chaos caused by the sudden change.

Rozier, of course, wasn't going to let him leave. He yelled at Extis, "Firefire!"

Kingsley, who was preparing to retreat, changed his expression upon hearing Rozier's words and roared, "You dare!"

This is London. If you set a raging fire here, and the fire spreads out of control, everyone in the city will perish in the flames.

Rozier certainly dared, but Extis dared even more.

Crimson hellfire rose up, transforming into giant pythons, hyenas, lions, and other ferocious beasts that hunted and greedily devoured everything that could burn.

"Avada Kedavra".

A dark green spell shot straight at Rozier from the sky, aiming to kill him while he was unable to unleash his Fiery Blaze.

Fortunately, Extis pulled him back in time, narrowly avoiding the Killing Curse's attack.

"Useless," Extis said disdainfully. "He can't even set a fire properly; he's a disgrace to the Rozier family."

Despite Extis's sharp tongue, Rozier was in no mood to pay him any attention.

He stared at the leader who was coming to provide support from the other side and said in a very serious tone, "Alastor Moody."

The dark wizard behind Rozier also noticed Moody's figure. The shadow of a man and the name of a tree, Moody's appearance caused an uncontrollable panic in Rozier's team.

The Aurors, on the other hand, were greatly encouraged.

"All curses end." Taking advantage of Rozier and the others' momentary daze, the Aurora quickly used the End Curse to cleanse the Fiendfire.

Moody didn't hesitate either, joining the battle immediately after landing and facing off against Extis.

"Where is Dumbledore?" Kingsley's pressure was greatly reduced thanks to Moody's support, giving him time to speak.

"He's not in now."

After only two rounds of fighting, Moody's expression became extremely serious, and his replies became brief.

"Dumbledore has gone to France—to focus on the enemy, be careful."

After exchanging blows for a few more rounds, Moody couldn't help but ask loudly, "Who is this guy?"

Aside from Voldemort and Dumbledore, Moody had never encountered such a formidable opponent.

“I don’t know,” Kingsley cautioned. “It might be some ancient relic that’s still alive thanks to a Horcrux, the one the Ministry of Magic found a few days ago.”

Moody instantly understood, seamlessly switching from a strong offensive rhythm to a defensive one. After easing up his intensity, he had more opportunities to speak.

"The Ministry of Magic has not been attacked so far, and given the lack of news from you, Fudge has ordered us to come and support you."

Because he was afraid that people would discover his secret, the Snake Demon's order was to proceed as usual.

After waiting for a while, Fudge learned that Dumbledore had gone to Europe and couldn't come to help, so he once again forcefully ordered Moody to go out and help the Aurors hunt down the dark wizard.

Moody didn't like Fudge very much either, and not wanting to see Fudge's sour face, he simply led his men to chase after him.

Just then, Kingsley and his men were preparing to retreat, so Rozier set fire to the place to stop them.

With such a golden opportunity, Moody raised his hand and cast a killing spell. If it weren't for Extis, he would have almost killed Rozier instantly.

“Fudge orders you to seize them and send them to Azkaban.”

“Azkaban,” Extis suddenly burst into laughter. “You’re planning to arrest me and send me back to my home.”

Moody, Kingsley: ???

Is the dark wizard on the other side mentally unstable, treating Azkaban as his home?

"What a pity, I was really looking forward to going back and taking a look." Extis retaliated with another powerful curse spell on Moody.

The magic instantly pierced through Moody's armor, severing one of his fingers.

"Tsk." Extis scoffed unhappily. Moody was too alert and dodged in time. Otherwise, that blow could have severed his arm, and it would never grow back, not even with a prosthetic.

The curse of dark magic will haunt him for the rest of his life.

"Be careful," Kingsley belatedly warned. "The opponent is highly skilled in dark magic; some powerful spells can penetrate armor."

"Important information should be shared earlier next time." Moody used magic to stop his bleeding, staring intently at Extis without blinking.

This dark wizard was so fierce that he dared not relax his guard in the slightest.

Compared to Moody's caution, Extis was much more relaxed. If he were dead, he would be happy whether he won or lost.

However, Rozier cannot be harmed, Extis whispered to Rozier.

"Step back, you should leave."

"What do you mean?" Rozier didn't understand Extis's words and said in a low voice, "The time hasn't come yet, I can't leave."

“If you don’t want to come to my house, you’d better leave now.” Extis sensed the remaining half of his magic power and reminded him again, “I don’t have much magic power left.”

"The undead cannot recover their magic power. If you don't leave now, I won't be able to protect you even if I want to."

“I’m a guest then,” Rozier said firmly. “I will not leave until I receive word.”

"Alright then, you deal with the black one over there, and I'll deal with the one-eyed one. I can't be surrounded anymore; I need to save some mana for you."

Just as Extis finished formulating his tactics, Rozier sensed the coin on his chest begin to heat up, a signal that Witt was retreating.

His tone suddenly became awkward.

"Witt has ordered a retreat. Why don't you take over for now?"

Extis(oへo╬)

"Get out of here."

“Alright.” Rozier didn’t care about Extis’s tone at all. It was best to avoid that godforsaken place, Azkaban.

[Stop them, you can leave after I retreat.]

Rozier cast a spell, a signal they had agreed upon beforehand.

Upon receiving the signal, the dark wizards instantly became incredibly aggressive, desperately unleashing magic to cover Rozier's retreat.

Such an unusual motive immediately caught Moody's attention.

"Kingsley, watch out, the smuggler in front of you is about to escape."

"Use the Killing Curse," Moody whispered a reminder.

But Kingsley hesitated; without orders from the Ministry of Magic, Aurors were not allowed to use the Unforgivable Charm.

If the Unforgivable Curse is used without orders, the consequences range from dismissal with continued employment to imprisonment in Azkaban.

Moody has retired, and Kingsley can turn a blind eye to his curse, but Kingsley himself cannot break the law.

After a brief moment of thought, Kingsley chose to use a simple spell.

As expected, the magic was blocked by Extis, and Rozier successfully escaped.

Moody turned away regretfully, without saying anything more.

Kingsley couldn't bring himself to do it; he couldn't very well force the other man's hand to use the Killing Curse.

After Rozier left, the remaining dark wizards scattered like birds and beasts, each relying on their own abilities to escape.

Some people even sabotage their own companions. I don't need to run faster than an Auror, I just need to run faster than you.

The reward for this mission is divided equally among the number of people who return; the fewer people who return, the more money they receive.
