Hogwarts: Me? Fight Voldemort?

Myrtle floated in the sky nonchalantly, "I don't know, but I hope I can find it."
"Is Jimmy looking for... one of those terrifying monsters?" Ron looked fearfully at the quiet stall in the bathroom, afraid that a giant snake might jump out and kill him. "Fifty feet long, it could eat me whole without even looking!"
"Why would he want a snake?" Harry pondered, seemingly trying to piece together a truth from these simple clues.
Unfortunately, there were too few clues, and these abstract pieces of information could not be organically combined, so thinking about it was futile.
Finally, the clever Hermione came up with an idea, "Maybe we can get it from Myrtle... We need to know what happened back then, there must be records at the school!"
Myrtle flew down and stared intently at the pores on Hermione's face, forcing her to change her mind.
“Good idea, maybe I can ask my dad,” Draco said.
The others also said that they could only continue the investigation along this lead.
The group then quickly left the girls' restroom, heading to the library to look up information.
As Harry walked down a corridor, he spotted Jimmy outside a window and pointed to the familiar figure, saying, "Look, Jimmy."
Everyone stopped and looked out the window, where Jimmy was seen swaying as he followed the now-strong Rocket toward Hagrid's cabin.
Hermione asked in confusion, "Jimmy went to see Hagrid? What happened?"
Harry said, "Jimmy's been going to see Hagrid a lot lately."
The group exchanged glances again before heading to the library to search for information and reports about Myrtle's death.
Meanwhile, Jimmy, who had arrived at Hagrid's cabin, was chatting with Hagrid. "Hagrid, do you know what? I found a secret room in the girls' restroom on the second floor!"
"A locked room?!" Hagrid's hand trembled as he poured tea, spilling water all over the table in a panic. "Why are you saying this?"
“Because I’m investigating the truth behind Myrtle’s death, and I’ve found the entrance to the secret chamber!” Jimmy wiped the tea on Hagrid’s table with a rag and said as if sharing a secret with a friend, “There are two doors in the secret chamber, and I’m currently working on cracking the last one.”
Hearing that he was going to break the door, Hagrid's voice became high-pitched and urgent, "No, you shouldn't touch that secret, there are very dangerous monsters inside!"
Listen, that's not a place you should be going. You'd better tell Professor Dumbledore about this! Go now; it's very important.
The incident fifty years ago was extremely complicated, involving even a mysterious person whose name cannot be mentioned, and the life of a student.
He didn't believe Jimmy had the ability to access that secret, a terrible truth that couldn't be uncovered!
Regarding the successor of Slytherin...
"Wait! Calm down, Hagrid!" Jimmy grabbed Hagrid's arm, which was trying to pull him away. Knowing Hagrid's personality, he didn't want any more preamble and said loudly, "I know about what happened fifty years ago!"
Hagrid froze, slowly lowering Jimmy from mid-air, and stood there awkwardly, his eyes darting around. "You know?"
Jimmy, finally relieved, sat back down on the sofa and said, "I know that fifty years ago, Tom Marvolo Riddle framed you for killing Myrtle. I know you're not that kind of person, so I investigated the facts."
Hagrid was deeply moved upon hearing this, and he slumped down into a wooden chair.
Seemingly recalling this painful past he didn't want to talk about, Hagrid became sentimental. He pulled a dirty handkerchief from his pocket to wipe his eyes, choking back tears as he said, "Thank you, Jimmy, I'm so glad you trusted me. But..."
"Hagrid, you want to become a professor of the Magical Creatures Protection class, right?"
Jimmy promptly interrupted Hagrid's potential persuasion, instead enticing him instead.
“I visited Professor Kettleburn. He's lost a leg and an arm. I heard he's retiring next year, and you're the most likely successor, aren't you?”
“But…” Hagrid was very eager for the position in the Magical Creatures Protection Class, but he also knew that the students’ parents would not allow someone with a criminal record to be a professor.
“The Ministry of Magic won’t let someone suspected of a crime become a professor, but once we find out the truth, Hagrid, you’ll be exonerated, won’t you?” Jimmy paused, then delivered his classic line, “Hagrid, you don’t want Professor Kettleburn to hand over the position to someone else, do you?”
His unkempt, bushy face was filled with turmoil and struggle as Hagrid made a painful decision in his heart.
The scales were swaying, and Jimmy kept adding to one side, "Hagrid, you know me, I never do anything I'm not sure I can do!"
Actually, I already know what kind of monster is hiding in the secret room, and I have made thorough preparations. I am certain that there will be no safety risks.
I also need to keep the secret room hidden from being exposed immediately. When the time is right, I will have Dobby inform you. You know, house-elves can Apparate in school too, and he can take me back to a safe place.
Then we'll call the other professors over to see the basilisk, and then you'll be cleared of all charges!
“Okay, alright…” Hagrid’s desire to improve completely overwhelmed his reason. He nodded with difficulty, but still instructed, “No matter what danger you encounter, never face it alone. Have the owl notify me, or another professor!”
If you don't agree, I can't possibly let you take the risk for me.
Chapter 157 The First Victim
No sooner had Jimmy left than Hermione and the others, who had just finished researching at the library, arrived at Hagrid's cabin.
The cabin was instantly filled with five teenagers who immediately started chattering and asking about the secret room.
According to the briefing information they found on the locked-room mystery from fifty years ago, Hagrid was among the students at Hogwarts during the same period as Myrtle, and Hagrid was expelled from Hogwarts at that time!
This important clue piqued their interest, and they immediately bombarded Hagrid's brain with a barrage of information in an attempt to get him to reveal some secrets.
Fortunately, Hagrid was well aware of the dangers of the Chamber of Secrets this time, and he refused to let Hermione and the others take the risk, always keeping quiet about it.
"Alright, this is none of your business. Don't be like Jimmy..."
Hagrid chased the group out of the hut, and only after closing the door did he realize that he might have let something slip. When he opened the door again, Hermione, Harry, and the other three had already run up the grassy slope and were sprinting toward the castle.
……
The five obtained a lot of information from Hagrid. Hagrid did indeed know about what happened fifty years ago, and Jimmy was indeed investigating the secret room.
Hermione thought Jimmy wanted to catch Lockhart, but it turned out he was investigating the Chamber of Secrets. So why was he investigating the Chamber of Secrets?
Could it be for Myrtle?
Or perhaps Hagrid?
They couldn't be sure, so they could only continue searching for information to find out what happened fifty years ago.
The best person to answer this question is someone who was in the school fifty years ago... or perhaps a ghost of a portrait?
However, their investigation was interrupted by an unexpected event!
Just before dinner, a Hufflepuff girl rushed into the Great Hall in a panic, screaming in terror, "Milton is dead!!! Milton was murdered in the hallway!!!"
The students and professors in the auditorium were stunned at first, then they all stood up, their faces filled with horror, and let out huge screams.
"Prefects and student council presidents, keep the students where they are!" With Dumbledore gone, Professor McGonagall was so frightened by the news of the student's death that she didn't care about anything else and just wanted to follow the Hufflepuff girl to see what was going on. "Everyone stay in the Great Hall."
Upon seeing this, Jimmy immediately followed behind Professor McGonagall, followed by a long trail of followers.
On the way, everyone was in a heavy mood. When they arrived at Milton's location, they were all shocked by the scene.
It was truly a horrific scene. Milton's face was covered in blood, his once handsome face was now a swollen mess, his nose was crooked, and his eyes were filled with tears.
"Ah! Milton, you're not dead?" The Hufflepuff girl was surprised to see Milton's arm still moving and tried to rush over to confirm, but Professor McGonagall pulled her behind her.
Professor McGonagall breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Milton was still alive. Although she wasn't particularly skilled at it, she still cast several healing spells on Milton on the ground to stabilize his injuries.
Jimmy, who was initially feeling heavy-hearted, felt less distressed upon seeing that Milton was still alive. He immediately ran over, took out some white essence from his pocket, and dripped it onto Milton's face.
Unexpectedly, when Milton saw Jimmy, he grabbed his hand excitedly and cried out incoherently, "Ugh, Lockhart! He...hit me!"
"What?" Jimmy listened carefully and finally understood what Milton was saying, "Lohart ran into the school?"
Hermione exclaimed in surprise, "How could this be? Aren't there Dementors guarding the school?"
Draco squatted down beside him and cursed, "My dad always says Cornelius Fudge is a good-for-nothing, and those Dementors are useless!"
Harry and Ron were stamping their feet in anxiety, "What should we do now?"
“Now…” Jimmy was about to reveal his plan when he suddenly paused, turned to look at the neatly arranged group of people, and asked, “You should be in the auditorium, why are you here?”
Professor McGonagall, who had been holding back for a long time, finally couldn't take it anymore. She pursed her lips and said with barely suppressed anger, "Yes, you should all stay in the Great Hall, including you! Mr. Blaine! Thank you for your help, but now you should go back!"
Milton was attacked not far from the Great Hall, and Professor McGonagall escorted them back to the Great Hall before taking Milton to the school infirmary.
The Great Hall was also noisy at this time. When Jimmy and Hermione returned, Dumbledore and the other professors had all arrived at the scene. The prefects and student council presidents of each year were maintaining basic order.
Seeing the six people return, Dumbledore seemed to realize that everyone was present and stood up, calling out, "Quiet!"
His voice was loud and clear, as if an amplification spell had been cast, instantly drowning out all other sounds in the auditorium.
The students in the crowd quickly quieted down, after all, there were many people here, including professors and the principal.
"I assure you, the hall is safe, and Miss Milton Kelly is not dead. She has only suffered some injuries, and you will see her again tomorrow."
These reassuring words gradually calmed the students' restless hearts.
But the fact that someone had been attacked must be addressed; this was not something Dumbledore could simply ignore with a few words. The young wizards were still waiting for Dumbledore's next move.
Dumbledore looked at the students below and issued the school's highest order: "After the meal, all students must return to their dormitories immediately. The school is temporarily closed until the attackers are found. No one is allowed to leave their dormitories except for students taking the OWLs and NEWT exams."
These words left the young wizards looking at each other in bewilderment. Soon, the food that appeared on the table made them temporarily abandon their thoughts and eat first.
Everyone thought that Professor Dumbledore's arrangement was to catch Lockhart, who had broken into the castle, but Jimmy felt that his arrangement still had a fisherman's feel to it.
It's just like that old man who only lets people take the bait, not allowing anyone to leave the common room. Wouldn't all the preparations I made for the plan have been for nothing?
Dumbledore must know what he'd been doing in the Chamber of Secrets. Jimmy gritted his teeth. After the curfew was issued, he only had two options left.
You can either abandon all the preparations you made beforehand and wait for the end of the semester, or continue with your plan.
The plan was definitely going to continue. Jimmy squinted at Dumbledore, who was getting up and leaving the professor's table, noticing the guilty look on his face.
The old man clearly noticed his gaze, but left as if nothing had happened.
The plan must continue, not only for Hagrid, Milton, and himself. He cannot abandon his plan, but he must make a big fuss about it and then ask Dumbledore for performance fees afterward.
He has no dietary restrictions, except for being unable to tolerate being taken advantage of.
Hermione, sitting next to Jimmy, had been secretly observing his expression. She noticed subtle changes in his face and vaguely sensed that he might be about to take action soon.
Harry, Ron, Neville, Draco...
Hermione looked at the others and gestured for them to get ready as well.
But none of the four understood Hermione's signal.
Chapter 158 A Meticulous Plan by Granger
Half an hour later, everyone had finished their dinner and dessert.
Each house returned to their respective houses in batches, escorted by professors and prefects. Slytherin and Hufflepuff went first, followed by Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.
Several professors protected them from the front and back. During this special period, even Professor Snape had to hold his wand and clear the way for the Gryffindor students with a cold face.
Jimmy kept observing his surroundings on the way. He used the Golden Eye Spell to discover Lockhart's whereabouts through the vision of another realm.
