Hogwarts: Me? Fight Voldemort?
Page 97
The phantoms of deer, snakes, bears, apes, and scorpions crashed into the surrounding stone walls, leaving abstract murals imprinted on them.
These murals, after being imprinted on the wall, continued to move around, which was quite peculiar. However, the seven people below paid no attention to the murals; they were all exhausted and collapsed on the ground, panting heavily.
Hermione rummaged through Jimmy's pockets and pulled out some bottles and jars labeled with names, successfully finding healing potions, including White Dictamnus Essence.
"Ahem!" Jimmy coughed twice, slowly got up, and looked around in feigned surprise. "Where's Lockhart? Good heavens, are you all alright?"
Those who were still conscious looked at him with surprise.
Hagrid walked over, clutching his chest, and choked out, "Thank goodness, Jimmy, you're alright!"
"Ugh! Something's wrong, I'm bleeding a lot! Am I going to die? Oh no! I don't want to die!" Ron sat on the ground, looking helplessly at the others. Blood was still gushing from the wounds cut by the longsword on his body, and his face was deathly pale with fright.
"Ron!!! My good brother!" Jimmy seemed to only then notice Ron was bleeding. He rushed over, picked up his wand, and pointed it at him: "Cut to pieces!"
After the sound of tearing fabric, Ron's upper body was completely naked, revealing a long, narrow wound that bled from under his skin, stretching from his shoulder all the way to his chest.
"Here's the White Dictamnus essence." Hermione handed over the bottle containing the White Dictamnus essence.
Jimmy took the bottle and dripped it onto Ron's wound, making Ron yell in pain. "If you yell, it means you're okay."
Then he went to check on the others. Harry had some minor injuries, Neville had broken ribs, and Draco had suffered serious internal injuries, with several broken bones.
The worst off was the basilisk, which bled to death from its severe injuries. Its jaw and teeth were completely shattered, and its head was smashed beyond recognition.
This was handled so sloppily...
Jimmy mentally cursed Dumbledore, but when he looked in the direction where Dumbledore had been standing, Dumbledore was gone.
He then looked at the basilisk's corpse, immediately picked up the Gryffindor sword, and opened his pocket to find a warm home for the basilisk's body.
To deal with similar situations, he always carried a large number of containers with him.
Just as the most important snake head was cut off, the gate and the layers of barbed wire placed in front of the entrance to the secret room were squeezed to both sides by a force.
As the white light of the Illumination Charm shone into the cave, the professors, led by Professor McGonagall and followed by Snape, arrived late.
They screamed in terror at the sight of the mess on the ground.
After climbing down the ladder, Professor McGonagall surveyed the chaotic battlefield and hurried up to check on Harry and the others' injuries.
Professor Snape frowned when he saw the basilisk's enormous body and Jimmy busily working on its back.
When Jimmy tried to take the basilisk's gall bladder, Snape simply grabbed him and threw him aside. Jimmy almost thought Snape was trying to steal his things.
Fortunately, Snape wasn't that shameless. He simply cut off the basilisk's gall, sealed it in a glass jar, soaked it in a potion, and then tossed it to Jimmy, saying, "The basilisk's gall needs to be soaked in formalin mixed with the water of life and death."
"Professor, do you think it's safe to eat the flesh of this basilisk?"
Remembering the steak he ate at Malfoy Manor, Jimmy hugged the glass tank and grinned as he gestured with his longsword at the basilisk's enormous body.
Snape's gaze instantly shifted to that of someone looking at a troll; he didn't even bother to answer such a foolish question, and turned to walk towards the unconscious girl Draco.
Chapter 166 has been discovered.
Seeing that Snape did not answer, Jimmy realized he had made a fool of himself and continued to dismantle the basilisk's body, stuffing all the flesh and bones into the Unmarkable Expansion Charm bag.
After examining the injuries, Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick led Hagrid toward the exit.
"Get out of here, Jimmy, we need to get you to the hospital!"
Just as they were about to check Lockhart's body for any inheritance, Jimmy was thrown onto a stretcher by Professor McGonagall, who happened to be passing by. That familiar feeling of being on an airplane came over them again.
The rubble that had blocked the road had been cleared away, and several professors rode brooms swiftly through the narrow confines of the sealed chamber, getting all seven people, including Hagrid, back to the surface in just three minutes.
The school clinic is on the second floor; it's just around the corner from the door.
The castle was brightly lit, and the school infirmary was also lit in advance, with Madam Pomfrey having already prepared the bed.
There are seven beds in total: six regular beds and one extra-large bed prepared for Haiger.
"Put them here, and then hand them over to me." Madam Pomfrey directed the other professors to put down the patients, and then went first to Draco, who was the most seriously ill.
Harry propped himself up and looked at Draco, who was still unconscious, and asked with some concern, "Mrs. Pomfrey? Is she alright?"
"Hmm... let me see. She's in pretty good condition, just some broken bones and some internal organ damage. I should prepare some potions for her!"
Madam Pomfrey spoke casually, seemingly not in answer to Harry's question, and swiftly passed through several professors, returning with a bottle of potion which she then forced Draco to drink.
Madam Pomfrey checked Harry over again, then patted his arm and said, "You're fine. You can leave after sleeping here for one night."
Then she walked up to Ron, squeezed his sling, and made him howl in pain.
"A sprained wrist will be fine after one night's rest. No need to treat the chest injury. Just let it heal on its own and rest for a few more days."
A spell flashed, and Ron stopped howling, and his bones returned to their original positions.
Next is Neville. Neville's broken bones don't require special treatment; a single spell can set them.
Hermione had no injuries, at most some scratches, and a drop of white cinnamon essence wouldn't even leave a scar.
Finally, there's Jimmy; he's perfectly fine.
Hagrid was the same; that blunt force injury was like being hit by a Tepo warthog to him, at most causing him discomfort for a few days.
After the physical examination, Professor McGonagall finally stepped forward and asked, "You must explain what happened tonight!"
"Ah, it's all my fault!" Hagrid covered his face and started sobbing again. "Jimmy went to investigate the secret room because of me..."
Jimmy interrupted, "Hagrid, don't blame yourself. My goal is still to lure Lockhart out."
If we're talking about responsibility, Dumbledore's responsibility is clearly the greatest!
"Please don't interrupt others, Mr. Blaine!" Professor McGonagall glared at Jimmy and asked gently, "Hagrid, are you saying that place was the Chamber of Secrets? Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets?"
"Yes, don't punish Jimmy. He's a good boy. He said he'd help me. If we find the monster that killed Myrtle, he... he can clear my name of the crime from fifty years ago. It's all my fault!"
Hagrid kept taking the blame for what happened tonight, believing he was responsible for everything that happened and for Harry and the others getting hurt.
Jimmy had to speak up again, "That's part of the reason, but I wanted the Basilisk and Lockhart to fight, but unfortunately the Basilisk couldn't beat Lockhart."
"I can't believe you actually managed to defeat a basilisk!" The diminutive Professor Flitwick exclaimed excitedly, waving his arms.
Upon seeing the arm, Jimmy realized that Professor Flitwick was also there.
Professors Snape and Sprout, who were also in the dormitory, did not comment.
Professor McGonagall, who had been quite serious, looked at him with a relieved expression. "That's too risky, Jimmy. You shouldn't do such dangerous things. You should have informed the professor."
Jimmy's eyes slowly shifted to Old Deng with the white beard as he walked into the school clinic, and he said in a rather meaningful tone, "I had Dobby notify them, and as for why Dobby didn't show up, someone surely knows!"
Professors McGonagall, Snape, Flitwick, and Sprout all looked at Dumbledore.
“Merlin…” Professor McGonagall looked at Dumbledore with a reproachful expression and said in an unfriendly tone, “The task of welcoming new students this year should be taken over by someone else. I think I have a lot of things to deal with.”
“Yes, Minerva, I will arrange the welcoming of this year’s new students.” Dumbledore touched his crooked nose, stood solemnly with his hands behind his back in the middle of the seven hospital beds, “The Aurors have confirmed that the body in the Chamber of Secrets is Lockhart, the Ministry of Magic is gradually transferring the Dementors away, and the school will resume normal classes the day after tomorrow.”
I'll have the professors temporarily suspend collecting your assignments, so you can get some rest.
He seemed to have come here specifically to discuss this matter. After finishing, he put his hands behind his back and strolled away like an old man taking a morning walk in the park.
After Dumbledore left, the other professors also left one after another, and eventually even Madam Pomfrey left.
There were soundproof curtains between the hospital beds, and Jimmy had hoped to get a good night's sleep.
Before going to sleep, I thought about what special potions the basilisk's body could be used to make. Suddenly, the curtain on my left was gently pulled open.
It was Hermione; she slipped under the curtain to Jimmy's side.
Hermione, aren't you going to sleep yet?
Hermione didn't answer, but leaned closer, looking at him with a serious expression, and asked in a low voice, "Were you faking fainting in the Chamber of Secrets?"
The matter was over, and Jimmy no longer needed to pretend. He propped himself up against the headboard and winked mischievously, "As expected of the clever and all-knowing Miss."
"Hmm...why? I don't understand." Hermione sat sideways on Jimmy's hospital bed, looking puzzled. "Why would you do this? You don't seem worried about our safety at all."
“I originally wanted to take you away from another place, but…” Jimmy looked at Hermione’s inquisitive expression, leaned close to her ear and whispered, “Professor Dumbledore told me to give Harry more opportunities to train. The Savior will always face more and more dangers.”
Having personally experienced how dangerous the Basilisk and Lockhart were, Hermione was very resistant to this so-called training, and she showed her dissatisfaction on her face.
“Lohart really wants to kill us! And that basilisk—if its eyes aren’t closed, we’ll be dead the moment we see it!”
She couldn't describe how horrible the behavior was; she just instinctively felt that it was too early and too exciting for them to do it.
It's like taking a five-year-old aspiring ninja to see a battlefield littered with severed limbs; they'd be lucky if they didn't develop a psychological trauma from it!
"What can I say?" Jimmy shrugged helplessly.
If Dumbledore's plans affect him, he will definitely walk away unscathed unless he is paid.
There was no point in talking about things that were in the past. He looked at Hermione hopefully and said, "Hermione, want to sleep together?"
Hermione's train of thought was immediately disrupted by those words. She then raised her slightly annoyed neck and replied irritably, "I was thinking about what dangers Harry might encounter. Can't you be serious for once?"
Jimmy was quite happy to be accepted, smiling and opening his arms wide. "I'm serious, or... could I have a hug? It'll help me sleep better!"
Hermione pursed her lips, shifted her body, and opened her arms to hug him.
Both of their hearts were racing. Jimmy rubbed his cheek against Hermione's fluffy hair, feeling her body getting hot.
"Thank you..." Jimmy heard a soft murmur in his ear.
They were both so hot after hugging for a while.
Hermione jumped out of bed. Luckily it was still night, otherwise her bright red face would have been a laughing stock. "I'm going back to sleep. Goodnight!"
"Goodnight~!" Jimmy said with a smile.
He quite liked this feeling; there was no backstabbing or messy adventures.
The fatigue of the past few days has been swept away, and I am now full of energy to greet the new day.
Chapter 167 The Team Curse Broken
The next day, a notice posted in the common room announcing that classes would resume as normal dashed the hopes of students who wanted to rest for a few more days.
Martial law was declared last night and ended this morning.
The students were naturally curious, and inevitably started asking about what happened last night while eating breakfast.
Ron, who had just been discharged from the hospital, couldn't help but boast. He had taken a sword to kill Lockhart, so how could he not brag about it!
In an instant, Ron was surrounded by people.
