A loud bang came from somewhere.

"What's that sound?" Claw Ross exchanged a glance with Jack beside him.

Both of them looked puzzled.

"It must be the crocodile's activity..."

They walked cautiously forward.

Soon, they arrived at the central ventilation shaft.

Once here, Ross can see the room where Killer Croc is located.

However, when his gaze fell upon what lay below, Claw Ross suddenly froze.

His companion looked down with some confusion after he stopped.

Upon seeing the scene clearly, his companion's pupils constricted.

In the room below, a tall corpse was hanging upside down, impaled by a massive stone pillar.

The body was grayish-green, over seven feet tall, large and strong, with muscles as hard as rock.

The skin surface is covered with rough, hard, grayish-green scales.

Blood continued to flow from the penetrating wound, running down the stone pillar and forming a pool of blood.

The corpse's face was twisted and grotesque, its crocodile-like skin filled with an expression of disbelief.

Chapter 42 Nightmare (Please continue reading!)

"That's a killer crocodile!"

Claw Ross was shaken, his eyes filled with shock and disbelief.

Even Jack, who also had claws, stared in disbelief at the corpse hanging on the stone pillar.

"Killer Crocodile actually died like that?" Jack Claw stared wide-eyed at the crocodile-like face on the corpse.

If someone had told him a few minutes earlier that Killer Croc would be nailed to a stone pillar, he would never have believed it.

But now, I'm witnessing the killer crocodile being tortured and killed in such a cruel way.

Judging from the shock in the corpse's eyes and the degree of blood congealing, he was probably killed instantly.

And it happened just a few minutes ago!

Could it be the time when they heard that loud noise earlier?

What kind of international joke is this?!

Before they came, they had thoroughly investigated the information about the killer crocodile.

The Killer Croc possesses terrifying strength, weighing over two tons, and its endurance and tenacious defense are several times greater than that of humans.

Not to mention that even some conventional firearms cannot penetrate the enemy's armor.

And yet this terrifying monster, which would strike fear into the hearts of ordinary people, died here inexplicably?

Ross and Jack exchanged a glance, both seeing the shock in each other's eyes.

The two then looked around the rest of the room.

Finally, they saw—

Opposite the corpse stood a dark, muscular figure.

Every now and then, a few bats would fly around him like angels of death.

Just then, the black figure seemed to realize something.

He slowly raised his head, his face somber and dark.

Ross and Jack, standing beside him, held their breath, the two owl-like claws of the Court of Owls.

However, the dangerous black figure seemed to have sensed something.

His lips inexplicably parted, revealing a chilling, cruel smile!

call! !

Suddenly, the black figure transformed into a blur, streaking through the air like a bat spreading its wings, and rushed to the ventilation shaft, pulling the two of them down!

With a dull thud, two elite claws, who had fought countless battles, were slammed to the ground by Bai Lang.

That's a tremendous force capable of smashing a building made of reinforced concrete.

Ross and Jack felt as if their bodies had been smashed to pieces; apart from their hearts still beating weakly, they could not feel anything else on their bodies.

It was as if all the flesh, all the nerves, and even all the bones had been smashed to pieces.

Looking at the figure before them, which resembled a black nightmare, Ross and Jack were filled with fear.

......

Meanwhile, on Arkham Island.

"Batman, the Dark Knight of Gotham is about to become my subordinate..."

Roman Theonis, wearing a black mask, stared menacingly at Bruce Wayne, the Batman who was clutching his head.

His ability is to control other people's minds.

"Your abilities only work on the weak!"

Batman, Bruce Wayne, growled, then grabbed the black mask with his batarang.

"Tell me, where is Arkham now?"

After obtaining Arkham's location, Batman Bruce Wayne punched Black Mask in the face, the force of which knocked him unconscious.

Ten minutes later, Batman Bruce Wayne carried the also unconscious Dr. Arkham into the Batmobile.

"Dr. Arkham cannot die, at least not now."

Batman Bruce Wayne looked at the unconscious Arkham beside him and thought to himself.

“Young Master Wayne,” came the voice of his butler, Alfred.

"What's wrong, Alfred?"

“During the few days you were on Arkham Island, that fake Batman appeared in Gotham City every night.”

“And…” Alfred’s voice seemed to be filled with a hint of horror.

This made Batman, Bruce Wayne, feel a little uneasy. What could have happened to make Alfred feel so fearful?

"At Gotham Mercy Hospital... he killed dozens of ordinary civilians, and Killer Croc and two Claws also seem to have been killed by him."

Upon hearing this, Batman Bruce Wayne's pupils dilated sharply.

He knew very well how difficult it was to deal with Claws.

Two of these incredibly resilient and persistent creatures, seemingly impossible to kill, actually died just like that?!

It seems that guy is more troublesome than he thought...

Bruce Wayne stepped on the gas and sped toward the Batcave.

After settling Dr. Arkham in, he quickly went to the Bat Cave.

Several photos of the Gotham Compassion Hospital were displayed on the big screen.

Dozens of ragged corpses were piled up to one side, while on the other side a huge stone pillar was stuck in the body of the killer crocodile.

In the center were two figures that looked like charred charcoal. Judging from the fallen owl helmets, they seemed to be the Claw Assassins of the Court of Owls.

Looking at the dozens of innocent civilians who were killed, and the Charity Hospital that was smashed into ruins.

Bruce Wayne gritted his teeth, clenched his fists, and veins bulged on his forehead.

“Alfred, help me investigate these ordinary people who died, and see if there is anything in their families that needs assistance.”

He carefully examined the wounds on the ragged corpses.

"He didn't kill those ordinary people."

They were missing some flesh and organs, which seemed to be the work of the killer crocodile.

But the killer crocodile and the two clawed assassins suffered such a tragic fate that not even a complete corpse could be preserved.

This behavior must have been done by that fake Batman!

He slowly loosened his clenched fist, took a deep breath, and remained expressionless.

"Also, help me contact Fox and ask how his anti-Batman armor is progressing."

......

A rooftop in Gotham's Old Town.

[Ability Value +40]

A light blue notification box appeared in front of Bai Lang, but he had no time to look at it.

A group of spirits stood beside him, repeatedly expressing their gratitude.

Death sat on the nearby balcony, gazing at the city's night sky.

In the distance, the lights of tall buildings twinkle, while the low houses on the ground nearby are dilapidated and dark.

Despite being in the same city, they are experiencing polarized situations.

In the distance are modern city buildings, while here it seems that with the changing times, the people here have also been abandoned.

After calming down the group of undead, Bai Lang, dressed in a Batman suit, walked to the side of death.

"Um... Sister, some of the undead among them want to come with me. Can I keep them?"

Sitting next to death, Bai Lang thought for a moment, and then said those words.

After all, if he were to use the ability of deathrattle to enslave the undead, he would have to say goodbye to death sooner or later.

It's better to say it now than sooner or later.

At least having a definite answer will prevent death from coming your way in the future.
