"What is a day of freedom?" Lu Mingfei asked blankly.

His answer was a deafening gunshot.

Students dressed in red combat uniforms poured out from all directions, with the blond boy at the head holding a Desert Eagle, who shattered a street lamp with a single shot.

"Caesar!!" Fingel crouched down, clutching his head. "Why are you even targeting the freshmen this year?!"

Chapter 6 A Day of Freedom

"Freedom Day officially begins!"

"Damn Caesar!!" Fingel's scream echoed throughout the campus. Before Lu Mingfei could react to what was happening, he was grabbed by the back of his collar and knocked down behind a rose bush by Frilian.

Three sniper bullets were fired in a triangular pattern, landing where they had just been standing.

"Is this some kind of welcome ceremony or a battlefield?!" Lu Mingfei's scream was drowned out by the sound of the explosion.

Not far away, the student council's heavy machine gun squad was firing modified M249s, the bullets exploding into red mist on the stone wall.

Frillie sensed the situation: "Seven on the left, twelve on the right, the sniper is reloading."

She frowned. "The bullets they used are very similar to sleeping pills in our world."

A rocket whistled overhead, blasting the fountain in front of the Amber Pavilion into a spray of water.

The blond-haired Caesar Gattuso stood on the Hummer, gun barrels emitting blue smoke.

"Friends of the Lionheart!" His voice boomed across the battlefield through the megaphone, "This year's bet is Norton House!"

His response was a sniper bullet fired from the clock tower, which precisely shattered the Hummer's rearview mirror.

Chu Zihang's figure flashed across the library rooftop, the village rain reflecting a cold light.

Lu Mingfei was about to surrender when he saw a red-haired girl pulling the pin on a grenade at the three o'clock position.

The girl's movements suddenly slowed down in his eyes—the sound of the spring compressing was clearly audible, and the sparks from the burning gunpowder fuse froze in the air.

"Word of Power: Time Zero!"

The world stood still. Lu Mingfei pulled Frilian out of the grenade's blast radius, grabbing the MP5 submachine gun that had fallen to the ground.

The instant time resumed its flow, he rolled to the side and hid behind a stone pillar, firing three shots that accurately hit the red-haired girl's bulletproof vest.

The girl stared in astonishment at the red dye that had exploded on her chest, and slowly collapsed to the ground.

“Well done.” Frillian raised her wand and tapped the barrel of his gun lightly. “Now the bullets will curve—by a small margin.”

Lu Mingfei's eyes widened: "Isn't this against the rules?"

"It didn't say that magic couldn't be used."

The roar of engines grew louder as three modified Hummers charged towards them.

Frillie raised her wand.

"Wind Barrier!"

The first Hummer seemed to have crashed into an invisible wall, its front end instantly dented.

The two cars behind couldn't brake in time, and the three cars collided, overturning seven or eight student council members.

A strange shout came over the loudspeaker: "Outsmarting! The freshman duo of Luf has wiped out the student council convoy! Odds 1:50!"

The entire battlefield fell silent for a moment, then all the gun barrels were turned towards them.

Lu Mingfei felt a chill run down his spine: "I think we should—"

"Get down," Frillie said, pressing his head down to dodge a bullet.

Like a mantis stalking a cicada, unaware of the oriole behind, Chu Zihang leaped from the top floor of the library, the cold glint of the sword drawn from the village rain stinging Lu Mingfei's eyes.

The blade was still three inches from his throat when time seemed to stand still once more.

Lu Mingfei looked at Chu Zihang, who was hovering in the air, and carefully moved away from under the blade, noticing that Chu Zihang's fingertips were trembling slightly.

This guy can actually maintain consciousness in time zero!

Lu Mingfei felt a throbbing pain in his temples. Time was released, and the rain brushed past his nose, trimming a few strands of his bangs.

Chu Zihang sheathed his sword and stood there, his golden eyes burning with fighting spirit: "Time Zero?"

"How...how did you know?" Lu Mingfei stammered.

“Only Principal Angers in the entire school possesses this power of words,” Chu Zihang said, pressing the tip of his knife down slightly.

Frillie's magic missile interrupted the conversation; the icy blue orb struck Murasame, instantly causing frost flowers to condense on the blade.

Chu Zihang frowned and shook off the ice shards. In that brief moment, Lu Mingfei had already rolled more than five meters away.

"Sniper fire in two seconds," Frillie sensed her surroundings.

Lu Mingfei had a stroke of genius, and the firing time was zero before the bullet left the barrel.

He pulled Chu Zihang behind the stone sculpture, and a sniper bullet hit the ground where they had just been standing.

"Why did you save me?" Chu Zihang asked.

“Because,” Lu Mingfei gasped, “we both graduated from Shilan Middle School?”

Chu Zihang was stunned for a moment.

In that instant of vulnerability, Frillie's immobilization spell struck, and the Lionheart Master remained frozen in place, his expression one of astonishment, like a fine sculpture.

“Caesar is here,” Frilian said, gesturing for Lu Mingfei to look behind him. “He’s with at least thirty elite troops.”

Lu Mingfei turned around and almost fainted from fright.

Caesar led a group of student council officers, all dressed in red uniforms, as they approached, each carrying a modified MP5 player.

"Surrender, S-rank," Caesar said, spinning his Desert Eagle. "You've done very well."

Lu Mingfei raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, then snapped his fingers crisply.

Everything within a 50-meter radius froze; the drifting smoke solidified, and the flying shell casings hovered in mid-air.

Lu Mingfei saw Caesar's pupils slowly contract; the student council president's movements hadn't completely stopped!

Damn it! Is he the same as Chu Zihang?!

"Damn it," Lu Mingfei gritted his teeth and maintained his incantation.

He staggered toward Caesar, each step like wading through glue.

Just as his hand was about to touch Caesar's gun barrel, he felt a burning sensation on his nose as warm blood dripped onto his uniform.

The power of words was forcibly interrupted.

Time resumed its flow, and Caesar's bullet had already left the barrel. Lu Mingfei barely managed to turn his head, the bullet grazing his chin.

"Time Zero?!" Caesar's intelligence did not include the fact that Lu Mingfei's Word of Power was Time Zero.

Frillie planted her wand in the ground, where it burst forth with a dazzling light, "Light Nova!"

The bright light enveloped the entire square, and student council members covered their eyes and collapsed to the ground.

Caesar managed to fire two shots, but Lu Mingfei dodged them both, appearing like a ghost beside Caesar and disarming him.

"Huff, huff," Lu Mingfei panted as he tucked the Desert Eagle back into Caesar's belt. "Not bad."

The battlefield was deathly silent. Members of the Lionheart Society and the Student Council forgot their hostile relationship and stared blankly at the legendary S-class freshman.

Chu Zihang was freed from the immobilization at some point, with Murasame hanging by his side.

"Dual Words of Power?" Caesar sized up Lu Mingfei.

Lu Mingfei shook his head: "Only time zero; the light just now was from Frillian—"

Before he could finish speaking, Chu Zihang and Caesar suddenly sprang up!

Murasame and Dick's short swords drew a deadly arc, and Lu Mingfei had no time to react.

At the critical moment of life and death, time was of the essence.

Lu Mingfei saw that Chu Zihang's blade was only 0.5 centimeters away from him, and Caesar's dagger cut open the button of his uniform.

"That's enough," Lu Mingfei said, grabbing the wrists of the two presidents.

Time resumed its flow, and taking advantage of their momentum, he executed an over-the-shoulder throw. Chu Zihang and Caesar collided like cannonballs, and the shockwave overturned everyone within a ten-meter radius.

After the smoke cleared, the entire place was deathly silent. Lu Mingfei stood at the bottom of the pit, holding an unconscious chairman in each hand.

The golden eyes gradually dimmed, and blood dripped from his nose onto his uniform.

Frillie raised her wand and lightly tapped his forehead to heal his injuries. "Show-off."

Lu Mingfei's legs went weak and he knelt on the ground: "I, I just now..."

“It has made history.” Masashi Toyama walked over with the scoreboard. “The shortest winning time in a single day for Liberty – 9 minutes and 13 seconds.”

Fingel poked his head out the window: "The house wins all! Thanks to the S-class boss!"

Lu Mingfei then realized that almost the entire school's teachers and students were looking at him with the same fervent gazes they had for an alien creature.

The silver-haired gentleman walked slowly, looking out of place on the smoke-filled battlefield.

"Principal Angers!" The students automatically parted to make way for him.

Angers looked at the two unconscious presidents with great interest: "It seems our S-rank is well-deserved."

Chapter 7 Caesar's Gift

After a day of freedom, Lu Mingfei and Frilian spent some time in the infirmary. After examining Lu Mingfei, the doctor felt that he was unusually healthy.

"Junior brother, Caesar is awake. He's looking for you," Fingel, with his shifty eyes, poked his head out.

"Oh? I'll be right there."

Five minutes later.

"This is too precious, you mustn't accept it!"

Lu Mingfei waved his hands frantically, a thin layer of sweat beading on his forehead, his eyes wide open, looking just like a frightened groundhog.

Cesare Gattuso leaned against the hood of a Bugatti Veyron, his smile as radiant as a model in an Italian vacation poster.
