"Frilian and Zero are the two biggest drinkers in our academy!" Flamel proudly introduced. "Frilian, she drinks vodka like it's water!"
However, Frillie gets drunk easily even when drinking normal wine; Flamel calls this phenomenon "low intoxication, high sobriety."
Andrew began to wonder if he had entered some strange academy for alcoholics.
One glass after another, Andrew's consciousness gradually blurred. He vaguely remembered being forced to drink more than a dozen rounds, until he could no longer even stand.
"Commander? Can we still drink?" Flamel asked with a grin.
Andrew opened his mouth, as if to say "no," but when he opened his mouth...
"vomit!!!"
He vomited directly onto the dining table.
The entire room fell silent for a second.
Then Flamel laughed heartily: "Good! You can still drink after you throw up! Someone! Change the tablecloth! Refill the captain's cup!"
Andrew is completely finished.
Finally, he was dragged back to his residence by Percy, who was holding his arm.
“Passi,” he mumbled drunkenly, “I, I want to impeach Angers.”
Percy tossed him onto the bed expressionlessly. "Commander, why don't you rest for a bit?"
Andrew's head lolled to the side, and he fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, Andrew was awakened by the sound of a radio broadcast outside his window.
"The second set of national middle school broadcast gymnastics, 'Colorful Sunshine,' begins now!"
His head was throbbing with pain. He struggled to get up and drew back the curtains.
On the playground, hundreds of students lined up neatly and did radio calisthenics to music.
The drill instructors were Frilian and Xia Mi.
"One, two, three, four. Two, two, three, four," Frilian chanted.
Xia Mi was full of energy, jumping and skipping, making heart shapes with her hands towards the students in the stands.
Andrew rubbed his eyes, wondering if he was still drunk.
"How about it? Our morning exercises are quite unique, aren't they?" Flamel appeared behind him and asked with a smile.
"What on earth is Kassel College up to?" Andrew asked weakly.
"To improve physical health! To cultivate discipline!" Flamel declared righteously, "This is a Chinese tradition personally introduced by Principal Angers!"
Andrew frowned, wondering if Angers was deliberately torturing him in this way.
On the third day, Andrew finally had the opportunity to meet his investigation target, Chu Zihang.
"Next, we will present the 'Outstanding Student' award for this academic year! The winner is—Chu Zihang, President of the Lionheart Club!"
The audience erupted in applause.
Chu Zihang walked onto the stage, accepted the certificate, and said briefly, "Thank you."
Andrew's eyes widened. This person, who was listed as a "dangerous bloodline" by the school board, was actually receiving a "good student" award?
“Vice Principal Flamel!” he said in a low voice, “Have you forgotten the purpose of our visit?”
"Huh? What's the purpose?" Flamel feigned ignorance. "Oh, by the way, Chu Zihang is indeed outstanding. Not only are his grades excellent, but he's also always willing to help others. He's truly the pride of our college!"
On the fourth day, Flamel enthusiastically dragged Andrew to visit the academy's swimming test.
“Swimming is a compulsory course at our academy!” Flamel said proudly. “After all, you might have to dive when you’re slaying a dragon!”
Andrew reluctantly followed him to the poolside, and then...
"Splash!"
A tall, slender figure leaped out of the water, water droplets sliding down her long, flowing hair, her bikini highlighting her perfect curves.
Andrew's breath hitched. Was that old man Flamel trying to seduce him with his beauty? How ridiculous!
“That’s Isabel, a former member of the student council’s dance troupe, and now a member of the ‘Mage Guild,’ the club founded by Lu Mingfei and Frilian,” Flamel introduced with a smile. “She’s the best swimmer in the entire academy.”
"So, what do you think of our college? Pretty good, right?"
Andrew remained silent for a long time before slowly saying, "I want to see Angers."
Flamel laughed heartily, "Oh, don't rush. Let's explore the academy a bit more!"
That evening, filled with shame and indignation, Andrew dialed the phone of Frost Gattuso, who was far away in Rome.
"Useless," Frost said, then hung up the phone.
Chapter 89 Whitewashing Professionals
At night, the attic of the chapel is lit with a dim, yellow light.
Flamel crossed his legs, swirled the wine glass in his hand, the ice cubes clinking together, and held a stack of documents in his other hand, flipping through them while clicking his tongue and shaking his head.
"Old man, you're really lawless. No wonder the board of directors wants to investigate you."
Angers sat on the sofa opposite him, slowly pouring himself a glass of whiskey, the amber liquid swirling in the glass.
He chuckled lightly, "As the vice principal of Kassel College, you hide here every day, drunk, and still get paid. You have no right to criticize me."
Flamel curled his lip and tossed the documents onto the coffee table. "Don't change the subject. Take a look for yourself: unclear use of funds, speeding, and unauthorized transfers of the executive department. Forget about those, the key issue is Chu Zihang."
"Oh? What happened to him? Tell me."
Flamel sighed. "Chu Zihang is your only breakthrough point right now. This investigation is nominally sent by the Board of Trustees, but it's actually being manipulated by the Gattuso family. Andrew may be a coward, but he has Frost backing him."
"The investigation team has recovered from the chaos of the past few days, and they are preparing to impeach you in front of all the tenured professors, on the grounds of Chu Zihang's bloodline."
Angers raised an eyebrow. "The professors don't care what I'm like in private."
“Yes, they don’t care about your private life, they only care about Chu Zihang,” Flamel said, shrugging. “The tenured professors have decided to hold a hearing at the university. Chu Zihang will be on trial, the jury will be all the tenured professors, and the judge will be King Solomon.”
"I personally reviewed and approved Chu Zihang's bloodline rating, and there are no problems at all."
“The problem isn’t there, but what the tenured professors think,” Flamel shook his head.
Angers was silent for a moment, then laughed. "So, I'm doomed to lose?"
Flamel shook his head. "You still have me, my dear old friend."
He paused, then gave a sly smile. "I've brought in a professional."
"Professionals?"
Flamel clapped his hands. "Come in, Angers wants to see you."
The door was pushed open, and a tall figure swayed in, his face weathered, his beard unkempt, holding a can of beer in his hand, and wearing a fawning smile.
Fingel von Frings, the student with the longest repeat year in the history of Kassel College.
"Good morning, Principal! Good morning, Vice Principal!" Fingel bowed with a smile. "I heard you two need some help?"
Angers was stunned. "Fingal? Didn't you graduate a long time ago?"
"Ah, well," Fingel scratched his head, giving an innocent look, "I love the academy so much that I can't bear to leave. Besides, life as a repeat student is so pleasant; you don't have to pay tuition, and you even get discounts in the cafeteria."
Flamel laughed heartily, "How about it? The professionals are in place, aren't they?"
"So, how do you plan to clear Chu Zihang's name?"
Fingel plopped down on the sofa, pulled a laptop out of his pocket, and started typing rapidly.
"Chu Zihang, a third-year student at Kassel College, has a bloodline rating of A. He has participated in 13 missions of the Executive Department. He has a tough style and does not consider the consequences. For example, his almost rampaging behavior in the Derun Building when he retrieved important documents resulted in nearly sixty people being seriously injured."
"He has 13 disciplinary records. If Professor Schneider hadn't been his mentor, he would have been expelled. The inextinguishable golden eyes, the high-risk Word of Power: Monarch Flame, it's both a miracle and a failure on our part that Chu Zihang is still studying at the academy."
"Is it that serious?" Angers sighed, rubbing his forehead.
"It's that serious. Chu Zihang is utterly despicable and his crimes are heinous," Fingel said with an air of righteous indignation.
"Can it be cleared out?"
"It's difficult, very difficult, similar to washing a lump of coal clean, but not impossible. Although many videos have captured Chu Zihang, the videos can be taken down by online trolls. This task will be handled by me and the student union's news department."
Flamel took a sip of his drink. "The problem is, what about Chu Zihang's bloodline? His bloodline can't be faked; the consequences of his repeated blood explosions can't be hidden."
“I’ll handle this,” Angers said. “There’s another problem: even if we prove that Chu Zihang’s bloodline is stable, the board of directors may still demand that he be detained on the grounds of ‘potential danger.’ After all, his Word of Power is Junyan.”
Fingel and Flamel exchanged glances.
Flamel spoke first: "So we need an ace up our sleeve."
“What trump card?” Angers asked.
Fingel grinned slyly. "Caesar Gattuso."
"Caesar. Will he help us?"
“It’s not about helping us, it’s about helping Chu Zihang,” Fingel explained. “Caesar has always been dissatisfied with the family’s interference in the academy’s affairs.”
Flamer added, "If we could persuade Caesar to testify that Chu Zihang's performance during the mission was entirely in accordance with regulations, it would greatly weaken the Gattuso family's accusations against Chu Zihang."
Angers pondered for a moment and asked, "Fingal, why do you know so much about Chu Zihang's past missions? This shouldn't be something a student should have access to."
Fingel's smile froze for a moment. "Oh dear, Principal, you know we journalists always have some sources of information."
"It seems I underestimated you. So, what kind of reward do you want?"
Fingel's eyes lit up. "Well, hopefully this will help me graduate."
"Weren't you from the class of 2001? Why haven't you graduated yet? You were one of our top A students back then!"
"Ah, for some minor reasons, I'm now a G-rank."
"There's a G-level?"
“The college has created a new level for me,” Fingel said hesitantly.
“Alright,” Angers thought, wondering if there was something wrong with his parenting style. “But…”
“I know, I know,” Fingel raised his hands. “If I fail, I’ll never graduate. You can trust me to do things.”
The three discussed some details and finally finalized the plan.
