"Boss," a first-year student wearing thick glasses approached cautiously, his voice trembling, "this, this is not easy to handle."
Fingel looked up at his trembling underling. "What's so difficult to handle? Tell me."
The younger brother swallowed hard and turned on the projector.
The large screen in the control room displayed a series of news reports and social media screenshots.
"The 'Black Night Wanderer' incident in Stockholm," the underling pulled up a set of bloody photos of the scene, "a Deadpool indiscriminately slaughtered passersby, and was then executed by Chu Zihang, uh, justice, by being hanged on the city hall. Locals believe this is divine retribution for the murderer!"
In the photo, in front of the old clock tower of the city hall, a twisted humanoid creature is suspended high by chains, its posture resembling that of a criminal being executed in the Middle Ages.
Local social media platforms have seen a surge in discussions linking the scene to myths and legends.
"And this too," the younger brother said, pulling up the online version of The New York Times. "Chu Zihang infiltrated St. Mary's Hospital and killed a degenerate mixed-race serial killer. He disguised himself as a patient and pinned his target to the wall with a knife in the intensive care unit."
Although Chu Zihang's face was blurred in the accompanying photo, his signature black hair and cold profile made him easily recognizable to those familiar with him.
The report cited eyewitness testimonies from multiple hospital staff members, and even included a blurry surveillance video.
The control room was silent; everyone looked at Fingel, awaiting his instructions.
Fingel scratched his messy hair and grinned. "I've got it! I know a bunch of guys who are perfect scapegoats!"
He looked at the head of the news department and said, “Contact our informants in Sweden and the United States and spread the word that these incidents were committed by bounty hunters from the ‘Hunter Website.’ Especially the serial killer case. Say that the murderer who died in the hospital was originally a target of the Hunter Website, and an anonymous employer had offered a five million dollar bounty for his life.”
“But what about the surveillance footage?” the section chief hesitated.
“Just say that’s the famous hunter ‘Lion’ from the hunter website. That guy is always dressed in all black and wears a mask.” Fingel waved his hand dismissively. “Then find a few online trolls to pretend to be insiders and say that Lion recently took on a big job, specifically to clean up hybrid scum.”
Percy stared at the download progress bar, which had reached 99%. In just a few more seconds, all the confidential documents would fall into the hands of the Gattuso family.
However, the progress bar stopped at 99% and stopped advancing.
Parcy tapped on the keyboard in an attempt to reconnect.
A new window pops up on the screen, and a virtual girl in a school uniform appears in the center of the image.
"Warning: Insufficient permissions."
Percy stood up and stared at the screen in disbelief.
That's impossible! White Card has Norma's highest authority; theoretically, there shouldn't be any restrictions on him!
"Unauthorized access detected," the virtual girl continued, a red warning box flashing on the screen. "Security protocol activated, connection to be terminated."
The files on the screen closed automatically one by one, and finally the entire system restarted, returning to the normal login screen.
Percy put away the white card and, without hesitation, headed straight for Chu Zihang's dormitory.
Chapter 93 Good evening, Mr. Percy
Standing in front of Chu Zihang's dormitory, Lu Mingfei sighed; he had been worried about him.
"Frilian, did the headmaster's blood transfusion really work for my senior brother?" he asked in a low voice.
Frillie didn't answer immediately, but instead raised her wand and whispered, "Warning Bell."
A pale green light emanated from the tip of the wand, gradually spreading around the dormitory and forming a protective barrier.
“Chu Zihang’s bloodline concentration has dropped significantly and is no longer close to the critical value,” Frillian said, putting away her wand. “But the weakness caused by the blood transfusion will take some time to recover.”
Lu Mingfei let out a long sigh of relief, just about to say something.
"Ding-a-ling!" The magic bell that Frilian had set up rang out crisply.
"coming."
In the distance, a tall, slender figure strode quickly towards them.
Pascal Gattuso raised an eyebrow when he saw the two people at the door.
He carried a silver metal box in his left hand, his right hand hanging at his side, his muscles taut, ready to draw a weapon hidden in his sleeve at any moment.
“Good evening, Mr. Percy,” Lu Mingfei said, raising his hands to indicate that he meant no harm. “There’s no need to be nervous. Frilian and I are just here to see our senior brother.”
Percy's gaze lingered on the two for a moment. "A late-night visit? What a touching friendship."
Lu Mingfei didn't reply. He turned around and opened the door for Pasila, then turned on the dormitory light with his other hand.
Chu Zihang sat on the edge of the bed, his hair disheveled and his face pale.
“Hello, Chu Zihang,” Percy said as he entered the room, gently placing the metal box on the coffee table. “I am Percy Gattuso, assistant to the Board of Trustees’ investigation team. I have been sent to collect your blood sample.”
"Hello," Chu Zihang said calmly, his voice devoid of emotion.
Percy opened the metal box and took out a vacuum-sealed bag.
After opening the package, inside was a brand new blood collection device: needles, test tubes, sterile cotton pads, and a small bottle of light purple reagent.
Lu Mingfei recognized it; this thing was a blood reagent developed by the Equipment Department, usually only used to collect blood samples in dragon ruins.
“Please extend your left hand,” Parcy said, putting on a medical rubber glove.
Chu Zihang rolled up his left sleeve, revealing the veins on the inside of his wrist. His arm was thinner than usual, and the needle marks from the principal's blood transfusion surgery were faintly visible under the skin.
Percy's blood-drawing technique was very professional. Disinfection, needle insertion, and blood drawing were all done in one smooth motion, and Chu Zihang didn't even flinch.
Dark red blood slowly filled the test tube.
"All done," Percy said, placing the test tube into a special container, adding the blood sample reagent, and then sealing it.
After finishing tidying up, Percy looked at Lu Mingfei at the door and said, "Lu Mingfei, you performed exceptionally well at Six Flags amusement park. No wonder you are the only S-class student in Kassel College in forty years. I look forward to your next performance."
"It was just good luck," Lu Mingfei said, scratching his head and trying to look silly. "Besides, the principal and my senior classmates helped me at the time."
Percy laughed. "Humility is a virtue, but excessive humility is hypocrisy."
"Although some people want Chu Zihang removed from the academy's roster, he has many people protecting him. This investigation will likely come to nothing."
He picked up the metal case. "Well then, I look forward to seeing you again."
As Percy disappeared at the end of the corridor, Lu Mingfei realized that he had been holding his breath the whole time.
He closed the door and blurted out, "Don't you guys think Percy and my senior look a bit alike?"
Chu Zihang raised his eyebrows.
“It’s not the kind of resemblance in appearance,” Lu Mingfei thought for a moment, “it’s more like, how should I put it, the aura, the feeling that you and he are the same kind of people. And the feeling he gives me is also very similar to Caesar, in his mannerisms and speaking habits.”
"Hmm." Chu Zihang vaguely felt that Percy was like him, someone who had nowhere else to turn.
My lifespan is almost over due to a blood rush, but what about Percy's?
Frillie took out her wand and pointed the tip at Chu Zihang: "Fountain of Life."
A soft green light flowed from the tip of the wand, slowly enveloping Chu Zihang's body. Chu Zihang closed his eyes, and a trace of color returned to his pale face.
"Are you feeling any better?" Frilian asked.
Chu Zihang nodded. "The feeling of weakness has lessened considerably. I haven't been used to this feeling of powerlessness since the blood transfusion."
He looked down at his palm, which used to be able to easily crush steel, but now felt a stinging pain from a simple blood draw.
Lu Mingfei dragged a chair down and sighed heavily. "Luckily, the principal urgently arranged for you to have a blood transfusion, senior brother. The Gattuso family is too insidious. They knew perfectly well that your bloodline was special, yet they still insisted on coming to draw blood in the middle of the night. They definitely had ill intentions!"
"The principal anticipated this, which is why he performed the blood transfusion on me," Chu Zihang said calmly, looking at the needle marks on his arm.
Frillie spoke up: "Percy Gattuso has a problem with his bloodline."
"What do you mean?" Lu Mingfei turned to look at her.
“It’s too unstable,” Frilian said, drawing the number 50 in the air with her wand. “The bloodline of a normal hybrid will fluctuate slightly, with a range of 1 to 2% being considered normal. But his bloodline fluctuates back and forth between one extreme of 49% and the other extreme of 1%.
At seven o'clock in the morning, empty Coca-Cola cans and energy drink bottles were piled up like a small mountain in the lobby of the central control room.
A dozen students stared at the screen with bloodshot eyes, their fingers pounding away on the keyboard like a torrential downpour.
Fingel slumped in his swivel chair, his feet propped up on the table, a chocolate bar dangling from his mouth, watching the progress on the various screens.
"Boss, the last post has been completely deleted!" A member of the news department, with dark circles under his eyes, raised his hand, his voice hoarse. "The discussion thread on the forum about 'City Hall's Divine Punishment' is now a 404 error. All screenshots and forwarding links are invalid."
Fingel nodded in satisfaction, biting off a piece of chocolate bar. "Well done. Now it's time for the New York Times article. Don't tell me you haven't got it sorted out yet?"
“It’s all taken care of,” another member said, adjusting his glasses. “We contacted the New York Times editors and pressured them on behalf of the university. The article was taken down, and the database archive was replaced with a clarification report about the ‘urban legend misconception’.”
Fingel grinned. "Not bad, not bad. You're worthy of being my student."
He stretched, his bones cracking. "Now, all the negative records about Chu Zihang on the global internet, whether it's the Deadpool hunt, the bloodline going out of control, or Junyan going berserk, have all disappeared completely. Even the search engine cache has been cleared."
The staff in the news department slumped in their chairs, some even sliding to the floor and lying flat, letting out groans of relief.
Fingel grabbed the last can of Coke, held it high, and shouted: "A toast to us, the professional coal briquette launderers! Time to go home, but don't take any paper documents with you! All paper documents must be destroyed!"
"Yes, boss!" Everyone started packing up their things and preparing to head home.
"Hmm?" Fingel accidentally came across a confidential document titled "Kassel Student Bloodline Record Form".
He casually walked to the printing press, pressed the 'print' button, whistled, and quietly put the document that the printing press had spat out into his pocket.
Chapter 94 The Real Blood Sample
In Vice Principal Flamel's office, heavy curtains blocked out all outside light.
Flamel paced back and forth like a bear whose honey had been taken away, his pajama bottoms rolled up to reveal his hairy calves.
"Damn it! That brat from the Gattuso family went straight to Chu Zihang's dorm to draw blood samples, and we had absolutely no idea!" Flamel slammed his fist on the table, making several beakers clang. "There's a mole within the academy!"
The clock in the corner pointed to four in the morning, and the eastern horizon was beginning to lighten with the first hint of dawn.
The office door was gently pushed open, and Frillie walked in.
“Teacher, Percy Gattuso entered Chu Zihang’s dormitory at 1:30, stayed for five minutes, and then left. Lu Mingfei and I witnessed the whole thing.”
Flamel turned around, his robe billowing in the wind. "Why didn't you report it sooner?"
Frillie's pointed ears twitched slightly. "You set up a 'Do Not Disturb' barrier, which was only just lifted."
"Damn barrier!" Flamel scratched his messy hair, about to explode, when Angers walked into the office with a glass of gin in hand, ice cubes gently clinking in the amber liquid.
Flamel gestured for Frilian to step aside, saying he had something to discuss with Angers.
Instead of retreating, Frillian used invisibility magic and obediently stood in the corner.
“Relax, my old friend,” Angers said, taking a sip of his wine, the aroma of lemon filling the air. “I have similar access to the academy as you do, but I also can’t find out where Passy went or what he did.”
