In that instant, Genji saw a human soul struggling in agony. But the next second, his bestial instincts took over again, and Kobayashi pounced with astonishing speed!

Yuan Zhisheng dodged to the side, his blade flashing like lightning.

Dojigiri Yasutsuna drew an arc and severed the tendon in Kobayashi's right arm.

Black blood splattered onto the Beethoven portrait on the wall, making a sizzling, corrosive sound.

"Now!" Genji shouted.

Sakura pressed the maximum volume button on the control panel, and Yasha threw two sonic oscillators in through the window.

Three different frequencies of sound waves resonated in the enclosed space, and the Deadpool-like Kobayashi froze on the spot as if being held down by an invisible hand, with black blood flowing from his seven orifices.

Without hesitation, Genjiro stepped forward, and Dojigiri Yasutsuna precisely pierced Kobayashi's heart, then slashed downwards.

This is the standard procedure used by the Snake Clan to execute corrupted hybrids, ensuring the complete destruction of their mutating hearts.

The classroom fell silent, with only the lingering buzz of the speakers.

The creature lying on the ground was no longer recognizable as human, but it was slowly reverting to the appearance of Kentaro Kobayashi.

Genji put away his sword and looked at the calm face; death had relieved his pain.

"Clean up the scene," Genji said to the crows and yakshas who had arrived, his voice tinged with barely perceptible weariness. "Dispose of the bodies according to plan, stage it as an accident."

Sakura walked up to Genjiro and handed him a handkerchief.

Yuan Zhisheng then noticed that his right hand was trembling slightly. The black dragon blood had corroded his glove, leaving several red marks on the back of his hand.

"Young Master, your injury."

“It’s alright,” Yuan Zhisheng shook his head, his gaze sweeping over the devastated music classroom.

My gaze lingered on a small photograph in the corner of the wall: a young Kentaro Kobayashi standing in the auditorium of the University of Tokyo, holding a violin and smiling brightly.

Next to the photo is a yellowed program schedule.

"Young Master, we should go," the crow whispered at the door. "The local police will receive a 'gas leak' call in ten minutes."

Genjiro took one last look at the dead half-breed and gently closed his eyes.

Each mission reminded him of the cruel truth: on this thorny path, it's either kill someone or be killed.

The responsibility of the Snake Clan is to ensure that the former always precedes the latter.

The four quietly left the music classroom and blended into the gradually bustling street scene of Xinzhuang City.

The white van drove away from the town. As Yuan Zhisheng watched the scenery receding into the distance in the rearview mirror, he remembered his father's words: "We kill monsters so that others will not see the truth of this world."

Outside the car window, the spring sunshine was dazzlingly bright.

One day later, at the headquarters of the Snake Clan.

Genji gently placed the intelligence file bearing the Kassel College emblem on the table, his gaze lingering on the name "Lu Mingfei" for a moment.

"Time zero," he muttered to himself.

"Young Master, you wanted to see us?" The door was gently pulled open, and Crow, Yaksha, and Sakura entered the room one after another.

Yuan Zhisheng pushed the file towards the three of them, "Lu Mingfei, an S-rank from Kassel College. How much do you know about him?"

"Ha! Lu Mingfei?" Yasha sat down cross-legged with a nonchalant air, grabbed a teacup, and drank it all in one gulp. "All I know is that he's very strong."

Crow adjusted his glasses. "The latest intelligence indicates that he defeated Chu Zihang in last week's combat test."

He tapped on a blurry video on the tablet. "Family professionals confirmed that he used 'Time Zero,' slowing down by 20 times, close to Angers' record when he was young."

"Impossible!" Yaksha slammed his fist on the table and stood up. "There are very few people in human history who possess Time Zero."

“The video is real,” Sakura interrupted softly, tucking a strand of her black hair behind her ear.

The crow laughed. "Lu Mingfei, an S-rank student at Kassel College, possesses the same Word of Power as the principal. According to the Chinese branch's data, this guy was just an ordinary person before he turned eighteen; he couldn't even play basketball well."

Yuan Zhisheng stared at the seemingly ordinary Chinese boy in the video.

"Sakura, what's your opinion?"

"He may have been hiding his true abilities all along. A wise man keeps his talents hidden until the right time to act."

Yaksha rubbed his hands together, "Who cares if it's true or not, we'll find out by trying! Young Master, let me go to Kassel College and meet this kid."

"Shut up, idiot," Crow kicked Yasha in the shin. "Do you want to start a full-scale war between the Snake Clan and the Secret Party?"

Yuan Zhisheng closed the file; the cover showed Lu Mingfei's harmless-looking college entrance photo.

Kassel College is truly a place where hidden talents abound.

Chapter 124 New Equipment

The equipment department laboratory at Kassel College is located on the third basement level of the college, a place that even the school staff are reluctant to approach.

This place is dark and treacherous; only I, a mere mouse, am allowed to come down and wander around.

Caesar Gattuso stood in the elevator, inhaling the increasingly strong smells of machine oil, solder, and a nauseating odor reminiscent of expired pizza mixed with nitroglycerin.

He frowned; his blond hair looked well-maintained under the emergency light above his head.

"Honestly, every time I come to the Equipment Department, I feel like they're experimenting on students' lives," he whispered to Xia Mi beside him.

Xia Mi blinked and replied with a grin, "Oh? I thought the Gattuso family was used to this kind of madness. Didn't your family's bank invest in arms dealers too?"

Caesar raised an eyebrow. "Investing in arms is one thing, but having a bunch of self-proclaimed 'mad scientists' strap bombs to you is another."

"Hmm, I guess only senior brother Lu Mingfei and senior sister Frilian can go to the equipment department every day. I'm not envious of the credits they earn." Xia Mi thought of Frilian's occasional "disheveled" return to the dormitory, which was probably because she had been teased by the equipment department.

The elevator stopped with a "ding" and the doors slowly slid open.

Chaos reigned before them. Researchers in white lab coats, smeared with engine oil and unidentified charred marks, were running around. Someone was screaming at a fire-breathing robotic arm, while another was running past carrying a bundle of what appeared to be explosives.

In the corner, a machine labeled "Experimental Alchemy Pulse Cannon" emitted an ominous buzzing sound and occasionally spewed out a few sparks.

My goodness, Xia Mi felt that the people here seemed a bit mentally unstable, and she regretted coming here.

"Ah! Mr. Gattuso! Xia Mi!" A man with hair that looked like he had been struck by lightning strode over. He was wearing goggles, and his white coat was embroidered with the words "Karl von Armament Department - Absolutely No Responsibility".

“Deputy Minister Karl,” Caesar nodded in greeting, trying to make his expression appear less disdainful.

"Welcome to Hell. Oh no, welcome to the Equipment Department!" Karl enthusiastically shook Caesar's hand, "We've just upgraded the equipment for the 'Fenrir Project,' and we guarantee you'll be amazed!"

Xia Mi leaned closer to Caesar and whispered, "Did he just say 'hell'?"

Caesar smiled. "I'll pretend I didn't hear you."

Carl led them through the laboratory to a testing area enclosed by bulletproof glass. Several pieces of equipment were laid out on the table.

The "Dragon Breath Stabilizer" is something that looks like a flamethrower, but Carl insists is a "controllable dragon bio-energy field regulator."

The "Alchemy Pulse Gloves" are said to be able to release an energy shock comparable to an A-level Word of Power, but Caesar noticed a note attached to them: "Third test. The user's hand bones required medical treatment in the first two tests."

"Fenrir's Chains," a silvery-white metal chain that Karl claimed could bind next-generation dragons, but Xia Mi discovered a line of small print engraved on the chain: "If it breaks, please move at least 50 meters away immediately."

"So, these are the equipment used to deal with 'Fenrir, King of the Earth and Mountains'?" Caesar picked up the Alchemy Pulse Gloves and examined them carefully.

“That’s right!” Carl rubbed his hands together excitedly. “And we even made an upgraded version!”

He pressed the remote control, and a set of jet-black armor descended from the mechanical arm on the ceiling. Its design was somewhere between a medieval knight and a sci-fi mecha, with an alchemical core that glowed red embedded in its chest.

"This is the 'Godslayer MK-III'! It can make you withstand three minutes of attacks from dragons!"

Xia Mi tilted her head. "And in three minutes?"

Karl pushed up his goggles seriously: "Theoretically, you'd be burned to ashes by dragon breath. But don't worry! We're still developing 'MK-IV'!"

Caesar: "..."

Xia Mi: "Does your equipment department have some misunderstanding about the word 'safety'?"

Carl insisted on personally demonstrating how to use the "Dragon's Breath Stabilizer".

"Watch closely!" he said, putting on his goggles and pulling the trigger.

Then, a burst of bright white flame erupted, burning through the fire sprinkler system on the ceiling.

Cold water was poured down, and steam immediately filled the laboratory, while a piercing alarm sounded.

The researchers skillfully crouched down and pulled out riot shields from under the table.

Caesar stood there, water droplets dripping down his blond hair, his expression somewhere between "I'm going to kill this man" and "Why did I come here?"

Xia Mi's shoulders trembled as she tried to suppress her laughter. "Wow, the Equipment Department's 'controllable' flames can't even be controlled by the fire suppression system."

Carl emerged from the smoke, coughing, and said, "No problem, no problem! Last time we tested it, the flames only burned down half the lab!"

Caesar took a deep breath. "I think I need a glass of red wine to calm down."

While Karl ran off to restart the system, Xia Mi leaned close to Caesar and whispered, "Seriously, shouldn't the board of directors consider cutting the equipment department's budget?"

Caesar sighed, "If it would make them build fewer things that explode, I'd be willing to pay out of my own pocket."

Xia Mi counted on her fingers, "Last month they tested the 'Alchemy Flashbang,' and it shattered all the windows in the principal's office. Last week they did a 'silent explosion,' and the whole academy heard it. Now they want to use these things against the Dragon King Fenrir?"

Caesar shrugged. "At least they're... uh, creative?"

Xia Mi rolled her eyes. "Their 'creativity' will blow Kassel College to the sky sooner or later."

After a series of "thrilling" tests.

Caesar successfully blasted a steel wall away with his alchemical pulse gauntlet.

Carl: "Perfect! 30% more powerful than expected!"

Xia Mi tried on the "Fenrir's Chains," and the chains suddenly lengthened, binding the three researchers together like dumplings.

Xia Mi: "Wouldn't this count as a work-related injury?"

The Godkiller MK-III overheated and crashed five seconds after startup, but Carl insisted that "it was just a minor bug in the cooling system."

Finally, Caesar patted Karl on the shoulder and smiled, "Your equipment, well, it really has potential."

Subtext: I'd rather slay a dragon with my bare hands.

Xia Mi added with a grin, "At least the lab wasn't completely destroyed this time, which is a big improvement!"

Carl wiped away tears of emotion, "Finally, someone recognizes our work!"

When Caesar and Xia Mi finally escaped the equipment department and returned to the ground, they both took a deep breath of fresh air.
