……
The whole world is in an uproar.
Newspapers from all over the world rushed to report on the war between Amestress and Alrugo: the battle that ended in twelve hours, the true military strength of Amestress, its bared fangs to the world, its invincible army...
Besides the various news reports in newspapers, governments around the world also began to panic.
Although Al-Lugo's military strength is not very strong, it is not weak either. They believe that even if they are targeted by a powerful country, it will take at least several months to take them down, and that would be under the condition that both sides suffer huge casualties.
The fact that Amestolis won with zero casualties was astonishing to them.
The images of advanced weaponry in Amnestolis, such as Apache helicopters, A-10 attack aircraft, and the equipment worn by soldiers, captured in the war zone, made it clear to everyone in the world that times had changed.
Amestris, on the other hand, was the nation that changed this era. It possessed extremely advanced technology and powerful military strength, making it virtually an invincible force.
……
Although Al-Lugo's army suffered heavy casualties, there were no civilian casualties, which did not give any countries any ammunition against them. What Isaac did not know was that after this battle, no country in the world dared to oppose Amestoris.
He had already arrived in the capital of Alrugo and watched as soldiers escorted one prisoner of war after another into vehicles. He casually lit a cigarette for himself.
This battle was fought perfectly.
“Lieutenant General, what should we do with the civilians here?” an officer asked Isaac.
Isaac looked back and saw that the streets of Alrugo's capital were deserted; civilians huddled in their homes, trembling with fear. The country had been destroyed, and they were terrified of what the future held for them.
“How to deal with civilians is not up to me; in the end, it depends on the orders from the superiors.” Isaac sighed. “If any of the Allugo children throw stones at you later, just bear with it.”
"Yes! But what if it's an adult?"
"Then give him a shot with the butt of a gun. He's all grown up and still has no brains. Let's bring him to his senses." After saying that, Isaac threw his cigarette on the ground, stomped it out, and walked into the presidential palace.
Amestoli suffered zero casualties in this battle, but spent a considerable amount of money. And the money lost would naturally have to be recouped from Arlugo.
As a coastal nation, Al-Lugo was incredibly wealthy, and its treasury was certainly overflowing with money. After this replenishment, the losses from launching the war instantly turned into profits.
More importantly, Amestris's territory doubled in size and it gained its own seaport. This was a crucial step in the subsequent development of its naval combat capabilities.
With naval power, the plan to colonize Japan would have been more secure. Furthermore, it would allow them to bypass the main enemy lines and attack Clayta from behind.
It's absolutely awesome!
------
In the aftermath of this battle, undercurrents were running deep among the nations.
First, on the new side of the kingdom, ministers rushed to request an audience with the emperor overnight.
"My dear ministers, please speak freely." The emperor yawned on his throne. "I went to a nightclub yesterday, oh no, I mean, I was traveling incognito and it was quite late."
“Your Majesty, you must have witnessed the battle between Amestris and Alrugo,” the ministers said. “This is a signal! A signal that the world is about to undergo change! We should strengthen our cooperation with Amestris.”
"Are you implying that the new nation should import the technology from Amestris?"
"Yes, Your Majesty! The technology brought back by the Seventh Prince is at least a century ahead of the rest of the world! Our new nation cannot fall behind at this time; we must quickly embrace change!" the minister hurriedly said.
But the emperor didn't seem to be in a hurry.
"Calm down, everyone. It is my son who will bring development to Amestoris," the emperor said with a smile. "He signed an agreement with me to provide technology when he came here before. What do you have to worry about?"
"Huh? Is that so?" The ministers looked at each other, unsure whether the emperor was telling the truth.
"Rest assured, Amestris and the New Kingdom have been one family ever since Feifan went there," the Emperor laughed heartily.
Singapore is not worried at all about this incident.
……
Marleyan Empire side
"Marshal, as you've seen, the technology of Amestris has advanced to a level that seems unbelievable in this world. If we don't make some changes, we'll become fish on a chopping board," a middle-aged man in military uniform said loudly to the somewhat elderly marshal.
"Alright, Magath, even if we make changes, how do you think we should change them?" the Marshal said helplessly. "Even if you give us a hundred years, we might not be able to develop that kind of technology."
He himself saw it very clearly: his country's wars relied on the Titans transformed from Eldians from concentration camps, and its industrial base was not strong.
The marshal turned his gaze to a bearded man wearing glasses: "Zek, how long do you think we can hold out if we face Amestoris?"
He didn't ask if he could win, but rather how long he could last. He knew himself that if they faced off, there was no chance of winning.
The man named Zeke pushed up his glasses and, after a moment of contemplation, said, "With all the intelligent giants and a sufficient number of immaculate giants, we can hold out for three days."
"Only three days..." Magath sighed heavily, "I just hope our warriors can retrieve the 'Founding Titan' as soon as possible."
"Excuse my bluntness, Captain Magath," Zeke suddenly said, "Have you forgotten that Amestris also possesses a weapon called the hydrogen bomb? Even if we capture the Founding Titan, how much will that increase our chances of winning?"
The meeting room fell silent for a moment.
……
Republic of Albion.
Ten years ago, a revolutionary army, mainly composed of the Republican faction of the Albion Parliament known as the "Ironsides Party," established the country.
Like the Kingdom of Albion, it is a producer of antigravity materials, and holds an advantage over the kingdom in some technologies, such as the processing of antigravity materials. Currently, the government is ruled by moderate republicans, but the revolutionary faction, including military officers, is also growing in power. London, which is under the Republic's control, is known as "West London."
Possessing a powerful intelligence agency, it has been waging a behind-the-scenes war against the kingdom for the past decade.
A group of people were gathered in a dimly lit meeting room, with an elderly man over fifty years old at the head of the group.
This is the headquarters of Control, the intelligence organization of the Republic of Albion.
"This can't go on!" roared the man in the green military uniform. "You've all seen the power of Amestris. The world order is bound to change in the future."
"Calm down, Colonel," the elderly man at the head of the group said calmly. "Your yelling and shouting won't solve anything."
"That's why I said long ago that spies are completely useless." The colonel had calmed down a bit, but he was still somewhat agitated. "If we had Amestris's technology, what would be the point of having a spy organization?"
The implication is that you spies have been busy for so long but haven't accomplished anything.
"Alright, I know what you're worried about." The old man spoke slowly and deliberately. "This battle in Amestris has served as a wake-up call for any country. They will certainly be prepared, but no matter how well they prepare, they can't match the current level of military technology in Amestris."
"Then what do you suggest we do?"
The old man smiled slightly: "As far as I know, all of these technologies originated from one person."
He picked up a photograph clipped from a newspaper and placed it on the table. The person in the photograph was Isaac. The photo was taken when Isaac was attending an international conference.
"Isaac Yao?"
“That’s right, the root of the problem lies with him,” the old man said. “I’ve already sent my men to investigate.”
Whom did you send?
“Angie, and Dorothy,” the old man said.
Chapter 398: Angela & Dorothy
The flag of Amédés has been flown over the presidential palace in Al-Lugo. This tells everyone that the country now belongs entirely to Amédés.
Olivia did not order the expulsion of the residents, but instead dispatched troops to be stationed in various cities to manage the area.
The citizens of Alrugo were initially resentful of the occupation of their country, but since the troops from Amestris were stationed there, things seemed no different from usual. Within a few days, everyone went to work or school as usual. Everything was back to normal.
Isaac was dozing in the newly occupied presidential palace when Violet woke him up.
"Lieutenant General, you have a phone call." Violet pressed the phone against Isaac's face.
"what?"
Isaac rubbed his eyes and answered the phone, "Hello? Who is this?"
“Isaac, what are you doing right now?” Olivia’s voice came through the phone.
Isaac yawned and said, "Nothing much, just finished the work I was working on."
"I feel like you're slacking off... Never mind, I've received a request. Two students from the Kingdom of Albion might come to interview you later. Remember to be serious this time."
“Don’t worry, sir,” Isaac replied. “But why are students here? Aren’t there any professional reporters?”
This place has only recently come to an end from a war, so it would be somewhat dangerous not to allow professional war correspondents to come.
"It seems to be some kind of extracurricular activity. Anyway, don't scare them again," Olivia instructed. "If a lieutenant general of your country scares away a few girls, our reputation will suffer."
After hanging up the phone, Isaac tidied his appearance.
As the commander-in-chief of this world-shaking war, Isaac naturally attracted numerous reporters who wanted to interview him. A reporter from Gallia had previously visited, and Isaac had answered "no comment" to every question. When asked anything further, Isaac pointed a gun at him and demanded, "Are you trying to spy on me?" This left Olivia, far away in Central City, quite helpless.
“Lieutenant General, there are two girls outside who want to see you,” Violet said. “They say they’re here for an interview.”
"So fast?"
Isaac quickly combed his hair, sat down, and said, "Let them in."
Not long after, two girls walked in.
One of them was a long-haired, intellectual woman with a perfect figure and beautiful face, who looked to be around twenty years old.
There was also a white-haired girl wearing glasses who looked rather frail. She was hiding behind the girl from before, seemingly a little shy, but Isaac felt like he had seen her face somewhere before.
She looks very much like the princess of the Kingdom of Albion.
"You two must be students of Albion, please have a seat," Isaac said politely.
"Thank you," the girl in the lead said with a smile, and sat down opposite Isaac.
The white-haired girl hesitated for a moment, then sat down as well.
Seeing her anxious expression, Isaac smiled and said, "Don't be nervous, the President has already told me about your matter."
"Yes...yes!" He still seemed quite nervous.
“Alright, could you two please show me the documents?” Isaac said.
"Oh my, Lieutenant General, you are indeed very cautious," the leading girl teased, taking out several documents from her handbag.
Isaac picked up the document and began to read it.
"Dorothy, female, a student at Queen Mayfair School in the Kingdom of Albion, has excellent grades and is taking advantage of the holidays to carry out extracurricular activities..." Isaac read, "You even have a 'London Evening Post' press pass here, which is quite professional for extracurricular activities."
"I did a lot of work for this interview!" Dorothy laughed.
“But the document says you’re only sixteen, which doesn’t seem like it to me,” Isaac said, looking at Dorothy with some suspicion.
Both her appearance and figure make her look like she's in her twenties.
"That's very impolite of you to comment on women like that," Dorothy said, annoyed.
