"I'm not old, I'm only forty-five."
“Yeah, it’s pretty old.” Isaac didn’t care much for him and pointed to the door outside. “You can slip out of here by going around in a circle. If you want to escape, hurry up.”
“That’s right, young man,” the old man said with a smile. “I plan to go out with you.”
"Oh?"
Isaac gave him a strange look. "It's dangerous to go out with me. I prefer to go through the front door."
Going through the main gate means you'll encounter police reinforcements, and a fierce battle is inevitable.
“That’s exactly what I wanted to tell you. I hope we can go to the archives.”
"Are you sure you want to team up with a kid like me?"
“Actually, I could tell from the beginning that you’re no ordinary kid,” the old man laughed. “You brought over a hundred AK-47s and hundreds of magazines with you. But you should know that each of these guns weighs nearly four kilograms. You look like you’re only twelve years old, yet you have such terrifying strength.”
"Wow, not bad, you've observed so carefully." Isaac was somewhat interested in the old man in front of him. "But at your age, you should really think about how to live a long life."
"Hey, young man, are you looking down on me?" The old man was furious. He walked out of the cell, picked up the remaining AK 47 on the ground, skillfully changed the magazine, cocked the gun, and released the safety. The whole set of movements was smooth and without any hesitation.
They were completely different from the prisoners who took forever to load a magazine.
"I'll go with you, and show you young people what it means to still be sharp as ever."
With that, he took his gun and went out the door.
"interesting."
Isaac smiled at the old man and led Levi outside.
"Sir, what's your name?"
“George Shechk, former U.S. Army 75th Infantry Regiment,” the old man chuckled. “But he got into some trouble and was discharged more than a decade ago.”
……
Isaac had sabotaged the detention center's electrical system, preventing the police from calling for backup from other areas. They were also surprised to find that all communication equipment was malfunctioning.
What made them even more desperate was that, for some unknown reason, a large number of prisoners poured out of the cell, carrying AK-47s that they had somehow obtained.
"Are we still unable to contact reinforcements?"
"We can't get in touch with them! All our electronic devices are unusable!"
"Shit!"
They could only hide behind cover and wait for the prisoners' intense fire to pass.
These prisoners were not exactly innocent to begin with. After suffering abuse in the detention center, they picked up guns and began firing wildly at the police.
"You filthy scum, go to hell!"
"I only stole five yuan, and you've locked us up for so long!"
"I will avenge my sister!"
The police in the slums have never treated the people there as human beings. Now that the people, who have been oppressed for so long, have launched a counterattack, they are at a loss for how to deal with it.
As soon as George, Isaac, and Levi came out, they discovered the terrible state of the place.
"Those kids are no good. Their grip on the gun is all wrong, and they're shooting from such an obvious place." George looked at the group of prisoners like himself and felt they were extremely unprofessional.
“George, I never knew you used to be an Army Ranger,” Isaac laughed.
The 75th Infantry Regiment was established in 1974, participated in the Vietnam War, and became the 75th Ranger Regiment in 1987. Since George says he's from the 75th Infantry Regiment, his identity is obvious.
He is a Vietnam War veteran.
Who would have thought that this old man locked up in the cell was actually a special forces soldier?
"Speaking of which, you're a former U.S. soldier. If you saw an American policeman being beaten like this, wouldn't you go and help?"
"Help my ass! These bastards are used to being arrogant here, they're a disgrace to the police!" George's beard trembled with anger. "Back then, I saw Henry beating up a little girl in the slums who had stolen something, and I got angry and fought with him. As a result, he immediately called a bunch of people to bring me here, and I've been locked up for two years."
"Isn't anyone coming to post your bail?"
“I don’t have much family.” George’s expression was somewhat forlorn.
“Think of something happy. You probably haven’t heard any news these past two years,” Isaac patted George on the shoulder. “The Soviet Union collapsed last year.”
George was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter.
The group made their way through the dense line of fire toward the archives, with Isaac standing in front of Levy the whole way to prevent her from getting hurt.
"Young man, you came here to break out of prison to save your girlfriend, right?" George looked at Isaac and then at Levi, teasingly. "Young people are something else."
"Old man, are you envious?" Levi didn't deny it and retorted directly.
"There's nothing to envy. I was young once too."
Just then, a policeman saw Isaac and his group and immediately ran over with his gun.
"Damn it! Don't move!"
George was about to turn around and fire when he heard the sound, but Isaac rushed forward first, dodging his shot, and then kicked him in the stomach.
The policeman's internal organs were ruptured by the kick, and he was sent flying dozens of meters away.
"Cool!" George exclaimed excitedly at the sight. "That move was so cool! What was that? Chinese Kung Fu?"
Isaac then realized that the old man seemed to talk a lot, like a mischievous old man.
"I really love Bruce Lee's movies, oh my god~"
"Stop playing around, we've arrived at the archives."
The archives contain records of all the criminals in the area, as well as a large collection of their belongings. Near the window, there's a bulky desktop computer, which holds an excessive amount of information.
George went inside and took out all his confiscated documents.
"Young man, your name is Isaac, right? With such a commotion here, we're bound to attract attention. Try to burn everything."
"I know without you telling me."
Let George and Levi go out first, and Isaac put his hands on the ground.
呲!
Blue electric light filled the entire room, and all the documents and the unusable computer were broken down into powder so fine it was indistinguishable.
Before leaving, Isaac made sure to light a fire inside.
"OK, destruction complete."
"That was quick, but thankfully they can't call for reinforcements," George said. "By the way, did you sabotage their communications equipment?"
"correct."
"How did you do that?"
Have you heard of EMP?
"..."
Chapter 483: I Have a Big Plan
A raging fire broke out in the archives, while the fighting outside intensified.
"Alright, even if backup police find our way here, there won't be any problems."
"Now we need to figure out how to get out of here."
Although the escaped prisoners had a weapon advantage, they were still facing well-trained police officers, who, no matter how bad they were, were still better than those incompetent prisoners.
“George, they’ve memorized your and Levi’s faces. Do you know what to do?”
“Of course.” George smiled.
To prevent the news from leaking out, they all had to be silenced.
He picked up his AK-47 and started shooting at the group of police officers.
Unlike the fugitives who would hold down the trigger and fire like madmen until they ran out of ammunition, he would only pull the trigger once for each shot.
Each of his bullets could take a person down.
"Not bad, no wonder you're a veteran."
“Of course, I was a sniper back in the day,” George laughed. “Although we didn’t have a sniper rifle, this one is enough.”
That would be wonderful.
Isaac laughed, and as he activated his mechanical eye, he took out his previous P226 pistol and pulled the trigger on the men.
The police, who were initially in a superior position, suddenly began to suffer rapid losses.
They could have used vehicles, but the EMP released by Isaac earlier rendered the vehicles useless.
"Not bad, kid. I don't know why, but I always sense a battle-hardened aura about you." George laughed as he fired his gun ahead. "Maybe it's just my imagination, you're only about twelve years old after all."
“I’ve certainly seen it all,” Isaac chuckled. “Watch out for the rooftops behind you; there are people there.”
Upon hearing this, George immediately turned around and saw a policeman with a rifle aiming at him.
Damn it!
He raised his hand and fired a shot, and the policeman instantly fell from the roof.
"You really show no mercy to your own people."
"Most of the comrades who fought in the Vietnam War returned home feeling abandoned; there are hardly any of their own people left."
Society at the time was vehemently opposed to the Vietnam War, viewing it as a pointless conflict. American soldiers returning from Vietnam were often ridiculed as the war they had served in became increasingly unpopular.
The public hurled insults at them, and the organization ignored the promises made to them during their service.
They returned from the brink of death, but instead of receiving flowers and applause, it seemed that even the country had abandoned them.
They are not considered heroes and cannot receive government protection.
Like a discarded pawn.
"So you came to live in the slums after you retired?"
“Yes, many people can’t find work after retiring, and some even end up homeless,” George said with a wry smile.
"That's really terrible."
