The black-haired man next to him holding a Japanese sword didn't say anything, but kept gesturing with his hands, seemingly using sign language.
“Nicholas said, ‘Someone just asked us to investigate you; there’s no ill intent.’” The blond man chuckled. “Let me introduce myself. My name is Warwick Alcantello, and this fierce-looking man next to me is my partner—Nicholas Brown.”
"You just said you were investigating me, are you an intelligence dealer?" Isaac asked.
“No, we’re a ‘convenience store,’ which means we’ll do anything for money,” Warwick explained with a smile. “Gathering intelligence is just the job we’re doing today.”
"Is that so? But the fact that someone would choose to investigate me suggests that this matter is not simple," Isaac said, his eyes gradually sharpening.
His current identity is that of a twelve-year-old elementary school student. Only his two subordinates, George and Wilson, know that he is not simple. Even in New York, no one will investigate him.
As soon as he arrived in Yelkastum, people began investigating him, and Isaac suspected that someone had discovered something about him.
Perhaps the two people in front of him who call themselves a convenience store owner can give him the answer.
Nicholas seemed to sense the murderous intent emanating from Isaac that was completely unlike that of a child, and immediately became alert, placing his hand on the hilt of his knife.
Isaac pushed off with his foot and charged forward before Warwick could react.
Nicholas's hair stood on end, and he quickly drew his katana and slashed at Isaac, who was charging at him.
Snapped!
Before the blade could even reach Isaac's head, he punched Isaac's wrist, causing the blade to snap back and slam into the wall.
The alley was very narrow, making it difficult for Nicholas to swing his knife. Isaac sidestepped him, just about to punch him unconscious.
"Wait!! You two!" Warwick yelled, "Stop it! We're not enemies."
Nicholas stopped immediately upon hearing this, and Isaac withdrew his fist as well.
He looked at Warwick, who was covered in cold sweat, and said, "You guys in the intelligence field wouldn't give me information about your clients, would you?"
“No, no, no, the client didn’t specifically request that our identities not be revealed, so we have no obligation to keep it a secret,” Warwick chuckled dryly.
He looked at Isaac and felt something was very wrong; this was not the reaction a twelve-year-old should be having.
"Could you tell me about my client? I want to see who is trying to investigate me."
“Well, he’s not really a special person,” Warwick said, scratching the back of his head. “A customer, a pretty lady, came to our shop and handed me a photo, saying she wanted to find the cute boy in the photo. She paid us a hefty commission, and then we went out to look for him.”
He then took out this photo.
Isaac looked closely and realized that the photo was taken when he first arrived in Yelkastum.
Why is she looking for me?
"She wants to keep you as a mistress, doesn't she? I know her personality very well." Warwick shrugged. "She even told me to ask you for her if I ever get a chance to meet you."
These words made Isaac's expression darken.
"Young man, is this your first time in Yelkastum? Your place is impressive, would you like to work with me?" Warwick extended an invitation to Isaac.
"So what you mean by 'doing things' is just running that 'convenience store' and taking on commissions?"
“No.” Warwick gave a thumbs up. “My job is to be a duck.”
"I'll beat you to death, you believe me or not."
Isaac declined the invitation.
After some discussion, Warwick decided to go back and refuse the client. After all, the person had been found and questioned on her behalf, so the work was technically finished.
Just then, Isaac noticed that Nicholas, who had been silent all along, had a dog tag around his neck with the words "A/0" engraved on it.
He is also a Twilight Race member, and the strongest among A-level individuals, a rare find even in Yelcastrum.
However, after a brief exchange with him, Isaac also discovered the strength of the more powerful Twilight race.
That means it's not strong.
“Your strength is passable, but not enough,” Isaac said to the silent Nicholas.
Nicholas seemed not to hear, looking at Isaac with a puzzled expression.
“Oh, right, Nicholas is deaf and mute; you can only communicate with him using sign language,” Warwick reminded him.
Sign language?
Isaac knew absolutely nothing about sign language; that was the only sign language he knew.
Thinking of this, Isaac gave Nicholas the middle finger.
Warwick: "..."
Nicholas paused for a moment, then a smile appeared on his fierce face.
He then returned the favor by giving Isaac the middle finger.
Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
Isaac also felt it was time to go back, so he left the alley.
Before taking him away, they set Barry's body on fire.
"Nicholas, what do you think of this kid named Isaac's strength?"
Upon hearing this, Nicholas began to use sign language.
Warwick looked surprised when he saw Nicholas's reply.
"What did you say? His strength is probably no match for that old woman Gina?"
Nicholas nodded.
"I can't believe there are such terrifying guys in the world," Warwick said with a wry smile, rubbing his head.
Gina and the others all knew her; she was the most powerful Twilight Race member in the city, with a strength rating of S/0. Her individual strength was enough to completely overwhelm a well-trained, fully armed modern army. Her organization was also one of the four forces controlling the operation of Yelcastrum.
But Isaac was even stronger than her.
"Shouldn't we be glad we're not enemies?" Warwick breathed a sigh of relief.
Although this city is rife with crime.
The sex industry, drugs, and guns are rampant in this area, but overall it is still within a certain range and not particularly chaotic. There is indeed an underlying order.
But this order is already crumbling, and it may be time for destruction or change.
Isaac came to a high platform and stood there.
Not long after, George and Wilson came up behind him.
"Boss, we're here."
“You’re here,” Isaac said with a smile. “Tell me your thoughts on this place.”
George: "It's chaotic, but if you don't consider the risks, you can definitely make money."
Wilson: "This city holds enormous hidden interests."
Isaac looked at them and smiled, “Indeed, this city is indeed very profitable, but what I’m here to do is not as simple as just selling weapons.”
He turned back to look at the city, from where he could see the whole of Yıldırım.
"I want ownership of this city."
Chapter 499: The Idea of Seizing Power
Loretta returned home alone.
Originally, her father asked her to take Isaac out to play today, but she was unwilling, thinking that she should spend time taking care of a child from a peaceful area, even though the child was a little older than her.
However, judging from his performance today, this person is nothing like a 'good boy from New York'. He has outstanding fighting ability and is extremely ruthless.
However, she had witnessed even more ruthless people here, which made her less afraid of Isaac's performance.
"Loretta, you're back? Where's Isaac?"
Inside the room, Isaac's father was drinking with Luca. Luca saw Lolita return alone, but Isaac was not with her.
He said he had something to do and told me to come back first.
"You came back first? Isn't it dangerous for him to be out alone?" Luca immediately became worried.
Yerkastum was not a peaceful place, and although it was his territory, he was still a little worried about a child being out alone.
This is his friend's son. If anything happens to him, he won't be able to explain it to the person in front of him.
“I think the people in this city are the ones who are in danger,” Loretta thought to herself.
Isaac's father wasn't too worried: "Don't worry, ordinary thugs shouldn't be a match for him."
Freud had previously told him that Isaac could defeat his bodyguards, so he really didn't need to worry about ordinary thugs. Plus, this was his friend's territory, so there weren't many conflicts, making it generally safer than other areas of Yelkastum.
"Are you really alright?"
"Really, don't worry," the father said with a smile. "But given my son's personality, he probably won't be too used to the atmosphere here."
“I think so too,” Luca said with a smile.
There is only one law of survival in this city: the strong prey on the weak.
Don't expect the police or the state to protect you; only your own strength can protect you. Luca grew up in this environment, and Isaac's father also found it very difficult to adapt when he first came here.
"Maybe that kid is hiding in some corner right now, contemplating life."
"Haha, maybe it's a critique of the city."
The two of them didn't bother with Isaac's affairs at this point.
At that moment, Isaac was discussing plans with George and Wilson.
"How confident are you that we can seize power by force?" Isaac asked.
"Boss, stop thinking about such dangerous things all the time. We're just a weapons seller now, stop trying to make a big splash," Wilson said helplessly.
Before Isaac could speak, George, standing to the side, said unhappily, "What? Are you looking down on our boss, new guy? Let me tell you, the boss is the Terminator, and ordinary armies really can't do anything about him."
"Hey! Don't add weird settings to my character," Isaac said helplessly.
"Why would the boss be thinking of seizing power by force? If it were just about selling weapons and cultivating relationships with the local powers, that would be enough," Wilson asked, puzzled.
He was a little puzzled when Isaac said he wanted to take over the city. It's just about selling a gun, why make such a fuss?
“My goal is certainly not just to sell weapons,” Isaac laughed. “What we’re selling now is simply buying goods from others and then reselling them, with the purchase price determined by them.”
"So, boss, what do you want to do..."
