Fairy Round Table Domain, Poem of Eternal Mist, author: Yukino-sensei is writing.
When Fujimaru Ritsuka and her companions set foot on Britain shrouded in pink mist, what awaited them was not the legendary glory of knights, but a cruel game woven by the three rulers of Paradise. In this Lostbelt shrouded in eternal twilight, Queen Morgan rules the six great clans with an iron fist, and her six fairy knights each harbor their own secrets. Among them, three newly introduced knights—the loyal and icy hybrid Kalia, the thousand-year-old cicada fairy Sylph who controls the weather, and Mordred, who possesses two Noble Phantasms—will all become key figures in changing the course of the battle.
A completely different set of rules from the pan-human history unfolds here: Artoria Caster grows up under the protection of two queens, Nokleina becomes a venomous blade lurking within the Wind Clan, and the prophesied child Mash becomes the focus of contention among various forces. When the once-in-a-millennium "Great Calamity" arrives ahead of schedule, the White Deer God lurking underground is about to awaken, and all lies and betrayals will surface in the tide of destruction.
In this land where love and curse coexist, and loyalty and betrayal dance together, Ritsuka must gather old and new companions to find a way to survive in the power struggles of six clans. Her fateful confrontation with Queen Morgan will uncover the darkest secret of the Fairy Kingdom—will she save the world, or toll its death knell?
Prologue - The Fairy Round Table Realm, The Poem of Eternal Mist
It's a place where flowers bloom in abundance; it's the last paradise.
The days are filled with the sunshine of spring and the breath of summer, while the nights are enveloped by the air of autumn and the starry sky of winter. Wildflowers bloom silently at your feet, and reptiles scurry among the blades of grass. Deep in the forest, streams flow, verdant greenery abounds, and the silhouettes of wild beasts rise and fall among the trees. By the water's edge, beautiful fairies gather.
This place is the mythical land of eternal spring, also known as Apple Island, a tiny world. It is an ideal realm that neither intelligent beasts can achieve nor reach.
Its name is Avalon—the inner sea of the planet, and also an alternate name for the place where the soul of this planet resides.
The man, however, closed the road himself.
He found himself in a claustrophobic tower, choosing a future where he could not die before the planet's end. Simply because he had already witnessed everything he was meant to see.
This is the most beautiful place on Earth: an endless sea of pink flowers, with pristine white clouds gently floating in the immaculate sky. There is no trace of evil or filth; walking among them is like strolling through paradise. A clear, gentle fragrance permeates the air eternally.
In the center of a sea of flowers, a towering flower tower floats silently, its white and gold embellishments making it appear especially sacred amidst the boundless pink.
At the top of the tower, Merlin, the guardian of the paradise, silently gazed at this familiar landscape. The warm sunlight and dazzling sea of flowers, however, no longer reflected the tranquility he once knew. He sighed softly, an indescribable unease and loss surging deep within his eyes.
After hesitating for a long time, the man finally spoke slowly, his voice seemingly carried by the wind:
"Alas... has my observation come to an end? Britain, I wonder when it has sailed onto a completely unknown course..."
He seemed to be whispering to the void, or confiding in some distant being.
"Are you still listening? Or perhaps, I've already met you, from the stars, without even realizing it? Though I'm utterly bored, could you please listen to me a few more words? These aren't my words, but a song carried on the wind; please remember it—"
His voice became ethereal and distant, as if reciting an ancient prophecy:
"This is the future. Oh, innocent souls lost on the mysterious island of the Fairy Kingdom, please return to Britain!"
*This is the bottomless Queen's City; what we crave remains in the Queen's hands.*
However, patience is still required.
*At dawn, more than two thousand years later, the Child of Savior will finally appear, connecting fairies and humans, and becoming the savior of the world.*
Even if it begins as a faint light, even if no one sees it, it is like a moth drawn to a flame.
In the fairy kingdom's steel city and coal sea, only by defeating calamities can the rising sun be welcomed.
Guided by the Staff of Choice and protected by foreign travelers, the rescued child will ascend the throne, and the confined Star Knights will be freed.
*Only he who ascends the throne is the true king, but he will wear a crown stained with blood.*
*Order him to ring the six bell towers, proclaiming to the world, thus paving the way for true kingship.*
*Before the five great calamities descend...before the five great calamities destroy everything...the struggle for the crown must end!*
*That knight of only hope must not fall; his mission is not yet complete…*
*Perhaps, things will not go smoothly in the end... and a collapse... is inevitable...*
After speaking, Merlin raised his hand and gently wiped away the fine beads of sweat that had appeared on his forehead, trying to soothe his heart, which had been beating violently for a long time.
“Although it’s a lazy job…we are, after all, descendants of free fairies. Perhaps my prophecies are just so elusive.” He gave a wry smile. “The events of that time and the present scene are quietly overlapping, like a curse quietly stuck to my back, impossible to shake off.”
Suddenly, the tranquil sea of flowers trembled violently. Though it was only for a moment, Merlin clearly sensed that danger was imminent.
"Oh dear, it seems that this is truly the end of what I can do. Next time—no, perhaps when everything is over, I will have no chance to appear again. After all, I am just a man who is not free."
He gazed into the distance, his eyes seemingly piercing through the tower walls and landing on the island shrouded in gloom.
"Ah, Star Knights, Prophecy Children. May I still be here in this cage, waiting for your good news next time."
As the voice faded, the man's body gradually transformed into countless smooth flower petals, fluttering and scattering within the majestic tower.
With his disappearance, the peaceful and beautiful Avalon seemed to lose all its luster in an instant.
Everything came to a standstill, plunging into a long void.
Visitor - Fairy Round Table Realm, Poem of Eternal Mist
This is a realm entirely different from our understanding of pan-human history, or rather, another world...
Standing amidst this bustling crowd, a person with ordinary Eastern features would instantly lose their way. At this moment, the gazes of the residents gathered here were filled with the astonishment of those looking at a rare and exotic creature. This was understandable; looking around, one couldn't find another person with his signature black, center-parted hair. The residents' hair colors were predominantly gold, red, and brown, with even more vibrant hues like green and blue. Their attire was equally bizarre: some wore heavy armor, others draped in sheer, dancer-like robes, and still others were completely shrouded in black robes. Dog ears and cat ears were ubiquitous on street corners, and occasionally, one could glimpse a creature resembling a "lizardman."
It could be said that an ordinary human being walking in this land full of "abnormalities" is itself the most conspicuous "abnormality." And the orange-haired youth walking among these strangely shaped residents is even more abnormal—he is shirtless, wearing blacksmith's overalls, with only a white cloak casually draped over his back. His short stature appears exceptionally thin among the tall residents.
"Who is that guy? A human?" a female fairy asked in a low voice.
"Is that even a question? Did you see even a trace of a demon in him?" The werewolf-like fellow scoffed.
The armored fairy pondered, "Isn't Camelot explicitly forbidden for humans to enter? Has Her Majesty the Queen changed the law? There have indeed been an unusually large number of humans in Gloucester lately."
Hearing the whispers of the fairies around him, a hint of disdain flashed across the young man's face. He walked straight through the murmuring crowd and headed towards a tavern not far away. The tavern's location was quite ingenious—its top floor offered not only a panoramic view of Gloucester but also a glimpse of the majestic circular royal city atop the distant mountains. Gazing at the magnificent royal city, a satisfied smile appeared on the young man's face.
"Looks like this is it. Now all we need to do is wait and see—"
This is the sixth of the Seven Lostbelts—the British Lostbelt. This land, encompassing the peninsulas of England and Scotland, is both mysterious and all-knowing. Yet, this island is unlike any other on Earth: stepping into it is like entering another dimension. A strange fog shrouds the area year-round, causing both peninsulas to disappear from external surveillance; the sky is perpetually a tapestry of pale yellow and pink, and monsters that feed on the fear and negative emotions of fairies lurk in every corner. Wherever one goes, a magician can clearly sense the restless magical fluctuations in the air.
Despite Britain's enigmatic nature, the queen who ruled for nearly two thousand years never brought disaster upon the land. Much like in the broader history of humanity, the fairies' opinions of this ruler were polarized: some saw her as a savior protecting Britain's peace, while others denounced her as a heinous witch. But from some point onward, outside of Gloucester, opinions of the queen plummeted. No one knew what the queen had done recently, but a silent rebellion was brewing.
However, the Queen's reign has been far from a failure. Over the years, Britain has never suffered a major catastrophe, and the Fairy Kingdom's economy, politics, and diplomacy have all functioned smoothly. If it weren't for being in a Lostbelt, it would be considered an ideal developed nation. Every year during the first week of summer, the Queen tours Gloucester. This is not only a display of her status but also an opportunity to personally observe the capital's development and public opinion. If time permits, she will also visit other cities. Oxford, Salisbury, New Darlington, Loridge, and Manchester have all frequently left their mark on her. And this year, the Queen will once again grace Gloucester with her presence during its grand festival.
“Oh dear, the Queen’s parade is tomorrow—” The robust young man squinted. “The intelligence gathering is almost complete, and tomorrow is the day to take action.”
Gradually, the pink sky turned inky black. Night quietly descended upon the fairy kingdom—the night sky here is always sparkling with stars, with the North Star and other constellations so clear they seem within reach.
At this moment, within the royal city of Camelot, the Queen, wearing a black crown and a pale blue veil, stood silently beside the throne. Moonlight bathed her silky silver hair in a soft glow, and her tall figure, though draped in a black dress, still possessed a graceful curve. Behind her stood two knights: one tall and sturdy, the other petite and veiled.
"Tomorrow's events, will everything go perfectly?" The Queen turned around, her voice cold and clear.
"Everything is in order as Your Majesty has arranged," the tall knight said, bowing. "Any further instructions?"
"No. But if anything changes tomorrow, none of you are allowed to participate, understand?"
"Your Majesty! How can we stand idly by if you are in danger?" the petite knight said anxiously. "Have you foreseen something?"
"This is not something I cannot resolve. I must meet with that foreigner in person; the follow-up matters are your responsibility."
"As ordered!"
As the first rays of dawn pierced the darkness, the pink sky once again enveloped the Fairy Kingdom. The Queen's procession departed from Camelot precisely on time, surrounded by countless knights in bronze armor. Beside the carriage, Britain's six most prized Fairy Knights rode alongside. These knights were all extraordinary; it was said that no one but the Queen knew their origins. It was this mystery that added to the Queen's unfathomable majesty.
At nine o'clock in the morning, the royal army crossed the plain and arrived in Gloucester. The city streets were already packed with waiting residents, each face displaying a different emotion: excitement, reluctance, cheers, and muttered curses. The starkly contrasting opinions of the Queen were laid bare in Gloucester at this moment.
As the procession reached the central square, it suddenly stopped. A muscular, shirtless young man blocked their path. The vanguard soldier immediately shouted, "Hey! You human over there! Don't you know it's the Queen's procession today? Get out of the way!"
"Is that so?" The young man grinned. "Then I've been waiting for you for a long time, Your Majesty!"
Before the words were even finished, the katana flashed out from behind the cloak. A crescent-shaped sword aura pierced the air, and the front-line cavalrymen instantly fell to the ground.
"Alert! Assassins! Protect Her Majesty the Queen!"
Before the soldiers could react, a barrage of sword strikes sent them flying one after another. Chaos erupted, a cacophony of screams and clanging metal filling the air. In the blink of an eye, the young man had reached the carriage. Just as he was about to take another step, his katana suddenly frosted over, shattering into dust with a piercing crack.
"Stop your insolence, human!" the blonde fairy glared angrily. "Whether you belong to the resistance or not, if you advance any further—"
The fairy knights quickly surrounded the carriage, but the young man stood calmly in place, and called out loudly towards the carriage:
"With such a display of power, why don't you show yourself? Don't waste my time. I'll take your life so I can report back to that woman! Morgan, King of the British Gospels!"
"How noisy." A cool voice came from the carriage. "I didn't expect the apostle of ??? to be so rude?"
Under the breathless gaze of the residents of Gloucester, the Queen finally appeared. Her flowing silver hair, crystal-blue eyes, and figure that would make any woman envious. Her all-black attire, crown, and veil further accentuated her uniqueness.
"That's Her Majesty the Queen? She's so beautiful..."
"His Majesty personally confronted the assassin? Could it be..."
With their goal set, the young people decided to act quickly and decisively.
"Morgan, don't blame me for being ruthless. I'm here to take your life on someone's behalf."
"Senji Muramasa, one of the three apostles under ???. You came all the way to my Britain for such a trivial matter?" Morgan's lips curled slightly. "Unfortunately, the one you should really be looking for is not me."
"Hmph, enough nonsense! I hate procrastination the most!"
"Utterly foolish—"
A blue light flashed in the palm of Senji Village, and a sword aura wreathed in flames shot straight at Morgan. Strangely, this sword aura bypassed the fairy knight who stepped forward to block it, heading straight for the Queen.
"His Majesty!"
"negligible."
Morgan raised her left hand slightly, and a blue barrier instantly blocked the sword energy. At the same time, three sharp spikes appeared beside her. The next second—
"what?!"
The spikes that were meant to pierce Morgan's body instead appeared without warning on Muramasa Senko himself. The spikes were coated with a deadly poison, and the moment he was hit, he collapsed to the ground like a puppet with its strings cut.
“Foolish fellow.” Morgan turned and flung his sleeve. “Take him back. I have questions for him.”
"As ordered!"
