It's run out of options anyway, so it might as well just sleep soundly. Besides, Gatanothor doesn't seem interested in destroying Earth; it only wants to destroy civilization.

Even if it wanted to destroy the Earth, the Earth itself couldn't stop it. It's better to just let it go.

Chapter 79 Sober

After learning more about it, Reggart had a pretty good idea.

The Earth initially developed normally, but was then flattened.

It was unconvinced and went all out for a second attempt, even receiving unexpected external assistance (a cheat). However, to its surprise, its own offspring, after obtaining the cheat, started fighting amongst themselves.

There was no other way; faced with a child so critically ill, the only option was to administer sleeping pills. At least that would prevent him from dying in such agony.

What made Earth most desperate was that no matter how well it developed, the opposing team's mechanics and stats far surpassed Earth's. By comparing the strength of both sides, it discovered that even with cheat codes, it couldn't overcome the sheer power of pure numerical superiority.

Of the creatures it created, the ancient humans were extinct. The ancient monsters were also nearly wiped out by the giants. The few remaining creatures were corrupted by the power of the Dark God and became its beings.

There are cows!! (Sound)

Therefore, it completely gave up and went into a deep sleep. Even in death, it wanted to die comfortably.

To put it simply: Earth's defenses are breached, but even with breaches, it's still unbeatable. So, it might as well hide under a small blanket in a bridge tunnel.

So when the White Moon descended upon Earth, even though it couldn't replenish Gatanothor's energy, Earth didn't even bother to contact it. Because it had already given up hope.

Reggart saw the crux of the problem. He thought for a moment, then suddenly spoke.

"In your view, modern humans haven't made any progress compared to the ancient humans. They've even regressed in terms of strength, so you've lost faith in them, right?"

The large sphere of light flickered, implicitly acknowledging Regard's statement.

Regard said firmly.

"In that case, how about we make another agreement?"

The will of Earth asked in confusion.

"What agreement?"

Regart continued, lamenting how often he'd been making promises to others lately.

“You believe that humans are only loyal to their desires. But I believe that there is still a hidden light deep within the human heart. If humanity truly overcomes itself and defeats Zigera, I hope you can come and help me.”

The large sphere of light remained silent for a moment, then asked.

Why are you so confident?

Regard smiled.

"Human beings are essentially similar to pigeons. If a lead pigeon steps forward and guides the flock in the right direction, the flock can continue to roam the world and thrive for a long time."

The large ball of light looked puzzled and asked again.

"Do you want to be the lead pigeon? But I've noticed you don't seem to interfere with humans too much."

Regard waved his hand.

"Being the lead pigeon is too tiring, and I have no interest in it. I'd rather be the pilot, flying with the flock and guiding them in the right direction, rather than directly leading them."

This seems a bit beyond the comprehension of the large sphere of light.

"Why do you try so hard, even though you have the light of Earth? This universe clearly has nothing to do with you, and you have no obligation to face it. With such great power, where can't you go?"

Regard transformed back into White Moon. He gave a thumbs-up and smiled as he spoke.

"It is precisely so that I will stop running away that I crave power. Responding to what is before me with all my might is my motto. If I really run away, I will probably regret it later..."

The large sphere of light flickered, seemingly nodding.

"Okay, I agree. If one day humanity truly breaks through its own limitations, then they will naturally be worth my risking my life for."

These words seemed to have touched a nerve. Bai Yue couldn't help but let out a soft hum.

"Go for it! Don't overthink it!"

The giant sphere of light looked at Bai Yue with a puzzled expression. It hadn't paid attention to anything happening on Earth for a long time, having been asleep the whole time. Was this some new way for human society to say goodbye?

Bai Yue waved her hand dismissively.

"Don't worry about it. In order to maintain the coolness of Ultraman, I concentrated all my madness in my human state. It's reasonable, isn't it? This is the famous law of conservation of madness."

The giant sphere of light remained silent. It had heard the term "law" before; even the ancients had summarized it. Could "madness" be considered a profound science in modern society?

Ignoring the country bumpkin Earth, Bai Yue waved her hand, producing a sexy bubble voice.

"Come on~"

The large ball of light stared at the spot where the white moon had disappeared. It felt a little out of sync.

Shouldn't we reconsider how human society is developing? Doesn't this trajectory seem a bit off?

...........................

On the plain, Tiga was hung upside down by Qi Jiela. A vine was wrapped around his neck, and he was slammed to the ground again and again, like a saint in the Bible who bore the suffering of all beings.

The people on the ground were cheering for Gijera. In their eyes, Tiga was just meddling, trying to ruin their beautiful dream and drag them back to harsh reality.

A little boy watched as his father cheered loudly for Zigela. The father held a basin of Zigela in his arms, while the little boy looked at his hero with a sense of bewilderment. For some reason, he felt a pang of sympathy.

He also entered his dreams. In his dreams, he got perfect scores on every test. His parents were proud of him. Every Saturday and Sunday, he could go to KFC. This was his most wonderful dream.

But looking at his father's frantic state, he couldn't understand. His parents had always taught him many principles: don't dream all day long, work hard in a down-to-earth way, and be grateful for kindness.

But now, Father harbors such malice towards Tiga, who has repeatedly protected humanity. It was all just a dream; is it right to slander a hero for the sake of a dream?

He was torn between his deranged father and the lessons he had learned. He was somewhat at a loss.

Suddenly, he remembered the words his father had taught him when he was lucid.

"You want to sleep all day and daydream? If everyone were like you, humanity would have no future!!"

He was lying in bed, unwilling to get up and do his homework, when his father angrily said these words to him.

His gaze hardened instantly, as if driven by a sense of mission.

He snatched Zigela from his father's arms, slammed her to the ground, and stomped on her several times.

The man's bloodshot eyes stared in disbelief at Zijra at his feet. He slapped her across the face.

"You bastard! What have you done?!"

The little boy fell to the ground, covering his face. A bloody baby tooth was spat out.

Despite the pain bringing tears to his eyes, he spoke in a mumbled but firm voice.

"Dad, didn't you tell me that if all we do is dream, humanity has no future?"

The man pulled at his hair in frustration.

"What do you know, you little brat? Do you know how tired I am?! It's all because of you two!! I have to work overtime every day, have to please my boss. And when I get home, I have to take care of my wife's moods. I can't even say anything when my pay is docked. I don't want to stay in this damn reality anymore!!"

...........................

You can guess who this little boy is based on.

Chapter 80: This is the expression I want to see!

The little boy shook his head and cried.

“No, Dad. In my eyes you are a great hero. You support our family. You teach me the principles of doing bad things when I want to do them.”

Sometime later, the people around him were holding Zigela, forming a circle. They listened silently to the little boy's sobs and watched him wipe away his tears.

"Although Mom sometimes gets angry, she's worried about you. She always says if you come home late, she'll worry if you're in danger. She keeps the house very tidy and cooks delicious meals."

As he spoke, the little boy clenched his fists and shouted at his father.

"I only know that the dad hiding in my dreams isn't the hero I admire; he's just a coward! This isn't the damn reality; this is the place where I lived with my mom and dad, so..."

He charged at his father. A headbutt struck him in the stomach.

"Give me back my dad! That down-to-earth hero is the dad my mom and I have always loved!!"

The man was knocked to the ground. He stared blankly at Zijra lying in the mud. Suddenly, he burst into tears. Looking at his son's swollen face, he hugged him, repeatedly saying...

"I'm sorry, Hayato... I'm so sorry..."

A faint smile appeared on the little boy's swollen face. Despite the comical sight, no one laughed out loud.

A woman suddenly threw Zigela, whom she was holding, aside and rushed to the little boy, stroking his face.

"Little friend, I'm a nurse, come and let me see you."

The surrounding crowd exchanged bewildered glances. Someone was the first to throw away the Zigela. One by one, others followed suit, discarding the flowers they held.

The little boy stood up and shouted.

"Tiga, go for it!!"

People around also shouted.

"Go for it, Ultraman Tiga!!"

From a perspective unseen by ordinary people, rays of light converged upon Tiga, just like those of the Kirieloids before him.

The GUTS team aboard the Flying Swallow 2 looked down at the crowd cheering for Ultraman Tiga. Shinjo suddenly smiled.

"It seems humanity has made its choice. Commander, let's go! We can't let Daigo steal the spotlight all by himself!!"

Lina said happily.

"Humanity will not be defeated by the Zijera! Let's all move towards the new era!!"

Zongfang's gaze hardened.

"Support Dagu!!"

The Texas Cannon fired, severing the vines binding Tiga. Tiga nimbly somersaulted, moving away from Gijera.

Gijera attempted another vine attack, but it was severed by Tiga's hand chop. Then, the Zepellion Ray destroyed it in one strike.

On the plane, Munakata hurriedly reminded Tiga to eliminate the threat completely. Tiga pounced forward and grabbed the retracting root. A red light flashed on his body, and he destroyed the underground root.

The sun rose. Tiga looked at the figures of Luke and his daughter on the horizon and said apologetically.
