"What is that?"
……
The two moved forward with the crowd, and along the way, Yuzhen took many photos of Xingge. This time, Yuzhen was more careful, quickly backing up the photos when Xingge wasn't looking and then putting them into her private album.
"Is that where you draw lots?" Xingge saw a table with a row of lot-drawing tubes next to her. She remembered the bad lot she drew during her New Year's shrine visit and decided to try again.
While Yu-chan was taking photos, she shook a wooden stick with a number on it out of the fortune-telling box, then gave the stick to the staff next to her, paid for it, and received a fortune slip.
"Senior, when did you get here?" Yuzhen noticed that Xingge wasn't beside her, looked to the side and saw her drawing a fortune stick, so she followed her over.
"Wow, that's amazing! It's a great luck charm! Senior, your luck has improved."
"Of course, I've always had good luck."
“Okay, I’ll draw one too.” Yuzhen also drew a fortune stick, paid for it, and received her fortune. “Hmm? It feels so-so, just a minor blessing.”
"What goes around comes around, and this time I won."
"When did we say we were going to compete in something like this?"
Seeing Xingge's smug look, Youzhen felt a surge of anger rising in her heart, so she reached out and ruffled Xingge's hair hard twice.
"What are you doing? My hair is all messed up."
"I couldn't help myself when I saw you like this, senior."
Ichiko Hoshika is a tsundere. This was the first time Yuuma had ever seen such a mischievous smile on her face, and he couldn't resist taking action.
"Let's go, this place is huge, we won't be able to see everything before we meet up if we don't hurry."
While Xingge was still fixing her short hair that Youzhen had messed up, Youzhen grabbed one of her wrists and pulled her away.
"Wait, my hair is still messy."
"Really? I don't feel any difference."
Yuma even took a picture while she was talking.
'The little devil senior and the messy-haired senior are a perfect match!'
Following the directions in the tourist brochure, the two of them arrived at the right rear of the Okusha Worship Site, which was the location of the Heavy Stone.
“The tourist guide says to make a wish first,” Yuzhen said, flipping through the guide. “Then go and move the stones on top of these two stone lanterns. If they are lighter than you expect, your wish will come true. If they are heavier than you expect, your wish will not come true.”
"That sounds quite interesting." Xingge looked at the two stones, walked closer, and then made a wish.
I hope Kenzaki Yuuma's wish will come true.
After silently reciting the instructions, she tried to move the stone and found it to be lighter than she had expected.
"What did you wish for, senior?"
Yu-ma watched her come back after making a wish and asked her.
"How could I possibly tell you?" Xingge walked behind him and pushed him forward. "You should go make a wish too, don't just stand there wasting your time."
Yuma temporarily entrusted the tourist brochure in his hand to her, and then walked to the Heavy Stone and made a wish.
I hope Xingge can find the best bandmates.
He looked at the stone and imagined how much effort it would take to lift it. Then he found that it was lighter than he had expected.
'It seems like it can be done.'
What did you wish for?
When Xingge saw him return, she asked him about it.
"Don't tell your seniors."
"You're quite vengeful."
……
Xingge didn't understand why Youzhen was so enthusiastic about climbing mountains in such hot weather, but according to Youzhen, it was called "pilgrimage to sacred sites".
"Senior, are you alright?" Yuzhen stopped, helped Xingge up, and sat down with her to rest. "Let's stop here, we won't go any further."
"I am a little tired, but aren't you going to see the anime filming locations? Is it okay to stop here?"
Xingge felt like she was dragging him down, and it was rare for him to be in such high spirits.
“Well,” Yuma scratched his head, “the anime didn’t specify the exact location. It’s pretty much any place with a torii gate along this mountain path.”
"Huh!?" Xingge looked back; the two of them had already reached the halfway point up the mountain. "Why didn't you say so earlier? Then why did you keep going up?"
"I just feel a greater sense of accomplishment as I get closer to the summit." Yuma awkwardly touched his neck. "I'm sorry, I was completely absorbed in my own world and didn't notice your feelings, senpai."
"Well, it's a pretty good memory." Xingge looked at the scenery below the mountain and felt that it was actually quite nice.
"Could you take a picture for me, senior?" Yuzhen handed her phone to Xingge.
Xingge took the phone and took a picture of Youzhen. The two of them huddled together and opened the photo. The photo was taken just as Youzhen blinked, making his eyes look uneven.
"Senior, your photo is really ugly."
"There must be something wrong with your phone."
“But I can take really beautiful photos of you, senpai,” Yuma retorted, unconvinced. “Senpai, don’t be so stubborn.”
"Then I'll say you're good, okay?" Xingge opened the camera on her phone again. "I'm going to take another picture of you, so stand still."
The photos this time were decent, nothing amazing, but passable. Yuzhen was quite satisfied.
"Let's go then, we need to hurry back and meet up with the other two." Xingge handed the phone back to Youzhen and pulled him along to head down the mountain.
"Wait a minute, senior, there's one more thing I haven't done. It's something I absolutely have to do since I got here."
"what's up?"
Xingge turned to look at Youzhen, wanting to see what this guy was up to now.
Yuzhen put her phone away, her expression turning serious. Xingge had seen this look before; it was exactly the same when he confessed to her that day.
She suddenly remembered that Yuzhen seemed to have said that this was the place where the male protagonist of an anime confessed his love to the female protagonist.
"Wait, wait a minute! This won't work..."
Xingge realized that there were people coming and going around them, and she absolutely couldn't let him say it.
"I like you, senior Xingge."
But she still didn't stop Yuuma. Seeing the tourists passing by, Hoshika's face visibly flushed red. She covered her face, pulled Yuuma along, and headed down the mountain.
"Senior, your legs will hurt if you run too fast."
Chapter 63 Extra 1
Valentine's Day is a day that Yuuma really cherishes. That year, he stayed overnight at Ichichi's house for the first time on Valentine's Day.
Yuma, along with the band's bassist and drummer, sat in the dressing room discussing the performance that had just ended. Yuma had been in Kawasaki for a year, and at this point, he had only dyed his hair and gotten his ears pierced; he looked quite healthy.
Their band's guitarist, Kazuhiko Inoue, suddenly pushed open the door and walked in, carrying two bags of chocolates.
"Kenzaki, these are from your fans." He placed the bag he was carrying in his left hand on the table in front of Yuuma. "Just like last year, yours is the most."
"You can take it and eat it, or share it with the other band members." Yuzhen looked at the bag of chocolates but didn't intend to accept it. "I don't like sweets. If there's nothing else, I'll head back now."
He left the lounge on his own.
“He’s still the same as last year.” Bassist Mana Sawamura, a girl with pink hair, picked up a chocolate from Yuuma’s bag, opened the wrapper, and took a bite.
“This guy has been like this ever since he came here.” Inoue sat on the sofa where Yuma had just been sitting. “Honestly, this guy is liked by so many girls, he doesn’t know how to enjoy his good fortune. He really doesn’t know how to enjoy life.”
He placed another bag of chocolates on the table, saying, "These are for the three of us, and they're a far cry from what that guy has."
"After all, Kenzaki is really handsome, and he's very gentle. The contrast between his appearance and his personality is an essential part of his charm. It's normal for girls to like him."
Seeing the longing look on Mana's face, Inoue didn't say much. He took out the chocolates he had given himself, put them in his pocket, and went out.
Inoue felt that Kenzaki Yuuma was, to put it nicely, devoted, but to put it bluntly, completely stubborn.
This guy seems to only have his ex-girlfriend on his mind; he's even kept his distance from other girls for over a year.
Unlike Yuuma, Inoue only knew that he should enjoy the opportunity now that he had it. And he was about to start planning his time tonight.
……
After leaving the lounge, Yuzhen said goodbye to everyone in the performance hall and then left. He was going to the convenience store to buy something.
Yu-chan doesn't like the smell of cigarettes, and he doesn't like beer either; he finds it too bitter.
He couldn't remember what he said to Xingge after she broke up with him that day. When he came to his senses, he was already at his older brother's bar. That was the first time he had ever drunk alcohol.
That was the first time Yuzhen had experienced that indescribable feeling; it was like something was stuck in his chest, leaving him with a very unpleasant feeling. He used to wonder why male protagonists in dramas always seemed lost and confused after being dumped. But after experiencing it firsthand, he truly understood how they felt.
Yu-chan didn't have any bad habits. At the time, he wanted to indulge in debauchery but didn't know what to do, so he went into his older brother's bar and ordered a few bottles of beer to try it out.
It didn't taste good; he didn't like the flavor, it was too bitter. And the sake he drank with Tokita-senpai when he went to Izu to clear his head after running away from home was too strong; he couldn't drink it at all.
Yuzhen snapped out of his reverie; he was already at the convenience store entrance.
"Do you have a loyalty card?" The cashier looked at him with a gentle smile; that's probably what a professional smile looks like.
"No." Yuzhen had never bought a membership card at any store.
He only bought a few cans of beer and a pack of cigarettes. Although he didn't necessarily need to smoke, it couldn't hurt to buy them; he could always give them to the showroom manager tomorrow.
After arriving in Kawasaki, Yuma randomly found a rental apartment. Later, he contacted his bandmates and finally rented a place near the performance hall. The place was pretty good, close to both the performance hall and a convenience store.
The house is quite tidy because he doesn't like dirty or messy environments, and he often takes time to clean it.
He didn't take the toys and models from his bedroom display case when he left home, and he didn't buy any new ones after arriving here, so the room is quite empty.
The tomahawk stood upright against the wall; it had accompanied him on many street performances when his band was just starting out.
After he ran away from home, his dad suspended his credit cards. He doesn't know if his mom scolded his dad for doing that, but Yuu-chan still can't use his cards. However, he doesn't intend to use them anyway; since he chose to leave home, he should sever ties with his family.
He currently works part-time as a tutor and earns a good amount of money. After all, he majored in political economy at a prestigious university, so his academic background speaks for itself, and many people still seek him out. In addition, he posts cover song videos online, earning some advertising fees, so he is quite well-off and still has the resources to help some new band members.
"It's Valentine's Day again." Yuma opened her phone, looking at the date on the screen and the photo of them together as the wallpaper. "I really don't want it to end."
Yuma felt like a failure in his relationship. He didn't know if he should really listen to Inoue and not put all his eggs in one basket.
'Has Xingge found a new boyfriend? Should I forget about her?'
